~* Chapter 2: Fluttershy's Cottage *~

I continued trotting awkwardly down the path in hope of finding some kind of town. The wind was starting to pick up and owls began to hoo! There was the essence of a forest area around me and I was scared of getting raided by timberwolfs, which I remembered from the zap apple jam episode. I couldn't fly to take a look because I was still getting used to walking, there was no chance for me to fly it also takes up a lot of energy which I needed to preserve just in case I have to walk for a long time. Braches were beginning to fall off trees on the borderline of the path. The sky was still a deep purple colour. "Ouch!" I yelped as one of the branches clocked me in the head. I took a hoof and rubbed my head where the branch hit an continued walking. The bordering forest was starting to thin out and eventually disappeared. Next thing I knew I was traveling through the prairies again. I noticed a sole shack far off in the distance on top of a hill. "Maybe that shack has somepony that can help me!" I thought to myself. I quickened my pace and tried to make my way over to the shack.

I stepped close to the shack and the wind had died down. It seemed like daytime was coming because, the sky was dyed a purple mixed with orange. It looked so pretty I had never seen such a wonderful sunrise before. I began to approach the brown, wooden shack and proceeded up the rickety steps. With each step the stairs would sag and make a cracking noise. I climbed up the final step and noticed how battered the shack was. The roof was almost caving in and the door was cracked and had a large hole in the center. I peeked into the mysterious shack and noticed that it indeed was inhabited. There were bags filled with seed and a heap of apples in front of an empty hearth. The hearth was the only thing in the house that stood out because it was made of a red brick. I decided not to venture into the shack because of its poor condition. It was a dead end. On the other hand the sky was now turning blue. It was early morning.

I began towards the path again which was a 5 minute walk judging by the distance. I felt the go up to about half my height but I just ignored it. I was a bit wet from the grass though since it had built up a dew. As I was in a valley in between to hills I heard a swoosh above me. I looked up, it seemed that some pegasi had woken up and were flying around doing a practice flight from what it seemed. I watched in awe as some of them began to do some tricks. There was a loop de loop and a whole bunch of fast flying. I felt like flying. I flared my wings out ready to fly and I began flapping. With some effort I managed to get off the ground still wobbling a bit. Taking a great risk I put my front hooves forward and my back hooves back and I began to speed up zooming around whilst staying close to the path. On of the pegasi spotted me and whizzed by me making me gape at the mare's skill. "It's my turn," I said to myself. I began to pick up speed following the mare. It was like a race. Zooming through the sky I was slowly catching up to her. The mare began to arc up and I followed. In the clouds I could see a distinct track formation. We began whizzing through some straight check points and then doing some fast turns and arcs. The adrenaline was pumping and I felt even better to be here. I started to fly as fast as I could. I could hear fire burning. I took a quick peek behind me. When I was flying fast it gave the illusion that my mane was on fire. "Whoa!" I approved. I began looking forward and punched my way through the sky going as high as I could. The mare trying to keep up. After quite a bit of climbing through the sky I punch a hole through a cloud and landed gasping for air. After a few seconds the mare came up and sat with me on the cloud.

The mare's mane was a deep blue color and her coat was a light cyan colour. "Your not from here are you?" The mare said curiously. "My name's Skye and I love to race. Cool cutie mark by the way!" I looked at my flame cutie mark and smiled I completely forgot to check what my cutie mark was. "Thanks," I acknowledged, "yes i'm not from here I was just wondering where is the nearest town."

"The nearest town is down there," Skye said smiling. She happily pushed me to the edge of the cloud and pointed down at a small cottage. "That there is Fluttershy's cottage and if you follow that rocky path there you will get to Ponyville, apple cider country!" I simply nodded and smiled. She smiled back, "I gotta go my friends are probably waiting for me take care, I hope to see you around someday!" Before I could reply Skye had dropped through the hole in the cloud and disappeared. I slowly descended from the cloud nearing the cottage. I landed on the grass and began to trot over towards the door. I couldn't wait! I couldn't believe that I was going to meet on of the mane 6 so soon! I met the rocky path and got to the door of the cottage as I was about to knock the door burst open and hit me in the snout knocking me over. "OH MY GOODNESS!" Fluttershy squealed and flew behind a rock. She had dropped a basket and was hiding from me. I walked up to her trying to use a calm, gentle voice. "It's okay I'm not going to hurt you!" I reassured. Fluttershy peeked out from her rock with widened eyes and then hid once again. I slowly walked around the rock to try to talk to her. She squeaked as I came into view, "Hi i'm-" I quickly tried to come up with a name, "I'm Blazin' i am new to the area and I just wanted to talk. Fluttershy opened her eyes and stood up. She stepped away a bit and kicked at the grass, she began talking but I couldn't understand a word she was saying. "I can't hear you, sorry!" I began.

She poke up a bit more, "I'm Fluttershy and uhm, i'm very shy."

"Do you need any help?" I asked trying to be friendly.

"Maybe a little uhm, you see there are a lot of acorns that I need to collect and if you wouldn't mind could to help me get them, if you're free of course!"

"Okay!" I said eagerly. I hopped over to the basket she'd dropped and I flew up to the top of the tree. She began watching and she was starting to get used to my presence. I started to pick the acorns by hoof, I ended up just knocking them down. I forgot I can't grasp things. I adjusted quickly to using my mouth for this. "Woohoo," Fluttershy said quietly. I giggled a bit and I set the basket down beside her. She smiled, "Oh why thank you so much for the help, it's just that i'm really busy and i'm not that good of a flyer so I didn't want to fall with a heavy basket."

"No problem I replied."

"Well i'll see you around, I know that we'll become good friends." Fluttershy trotted into her cottage and shut the door ever so quietly. I smiled and felt happy to myself. I continued onward to Ponyville. Before I took a step Fluttershy opened her door quickly and said happily, "Oh sorry! I almost forgot, welcome to Ponyville." I simply turned and smiled in her direction. thinking to myself, "Yes! Fluttershy is my friend now!" I sped up my pacing, walking felt really easy to me now. Next stop, Sweet Apple Acres, then Ponyville.
