In The Name Of Science

"I'm dreaming that's it, yeah y-yeah that's it. This is just one big dream."  Daniel said to the two dream induced unicorns in front of him.(I guess I don't really have to describe their colors.) He rested his head on the wall behind him. He closed his eyes for a minute then opened them. Still seeing the two unicorns, he repeated this over and over. After the tenth time he accepted the fact that they were not going away.

Resting his head against the wall behind him, he began to speak. "Please just tell me where I am."

Perking up, Lyra answered in an exited tone, "Your in Equestria!" she exclaimed with a large smile. "You see Twilight? I'm not crazy!" She reached out and grabbed the purple mares face, squishing it together, "I've finally found a human being!" she cheered, throwing her hooves into the air.

"Hehe...ok Lyra calm down," Twilight said, rubbing the green mares back. She suddenly realized the contact and let her hoof fall down to the floor, her cheeks a burning red. After a moment of awkwardness, Daniel spoke up.

"Ahem, if you two would be so kind." He said, gesturing with his hand in a circular motion.

"Oh...yes hold on a sec would ya? Thanks." The large green screen appeared again in a flash of green.

Daniel rested his head back against the wall, "Fuckers."

"Oh Twilight isn't this exciting!?" Lyra squealed loudly, hoping up and down around Twilight.

"Ly-"

"And know he's ours to keep!"

"Lyr-"

"Who knows what we can unravel from it wit-"

"LYRA!!" Twilight bellowed over the overly excited unicorn. "Who knows what this...this thing can do to us! He could be as powerful as Celestia for all we know!"

"For all we know he could be as weak as an ant," she said, remembering how he almost broke out of the chains she placed him in. "He seems fine to me and hasn't posed as a threat so far." she lied.

Twilight pressed a hoof to her forehead. How could Lyra bring such a thing here not knowing what it is? It could have killed her in the blink of an eye. But on the other hoof, this really could be a scientific breakthrough for the pair. Of course they would have to run a few.....dozen tests to make sure he was foolproof.  But what would happen if some pony else found out? Would they tell another pony? And then that pony would tell another pony, and then that pony would tell another pony! Eventually it would reach the princess, and Twilight would be sent back to....*GASP*.......magic kindergarten. NO! not now, not ever.

"Ok Lyra, we can keep the human."

"*SQUEEE! Oh thank you Twi. Thank you thank you thank you!" (Author does not approve of the need of Twilights approval to keep the human.)

"BUT only if you can keep it a secret. AND that means telling nopony about it. OK?"

"You got it boss." Lyra replied with a crisp salute.

The screen came down in another flash of green. This time both unicorns looked happier than before, which scared Daniel. Both looked into his very soul with their huge, evil eyes. He could see the very essence of satan in those eyes. But what was truley scary about these two creatures was the fact that are magical, talking, pony unicorns. Adorable talking, magical, pony unicorns.

"Again, what do you want with me? he asked.

"What all scientists want out of their sudies.'' Twilight looked at her green freind. "Progress."

"And by progress you mean...?"

"We're going to study you. Like I would study a frog. We're going to see what you are capable of doing. What you are not capable of doing. And what we can create with and from you." Lyra said with a large, evil, adorable grin.

"But why?" he asked.

Both mares froze instantaneously. "What do you mean why, human?" Twilight asked. Daniel only grew from confused to even more scared.

"I mean why are you doing this to me? Why do you have to do this to me?" he asked, despair in his voice.

Both mares leaned in and whispered to each other. Daniel heard several what ifs and buts, but the one that caught his ear was the word "memories".

Simultaneously, both mares turned to face Daniel, Lyra grinning madly. "Don't worry Daniel," Lyra said in a smooth voice, "I have just the spell for that."

As soon as she spoke those words hers and Twilights horns began to glow. Soon Daniel found his vision beginning to darken. After a second of darkness, Daniel felt something heavy fall in his chest. A bright image appeared in front of him. It was dim around the edges, kind of like in a dream. He saw nothing but whiteness.

"Daddy!"

"No. No that cant be."

"Daddy! Where are you daddy?!" It was a small boys voice, no older than seven. The image of the boy began to appear in the white. Soon Daniel could tell what the child looked like.

"Son."

The child was looking for him, his father. Another figure dressed in a long white silky dress walked up behind his son. "Honey, its time to go home now."

"Maratha, no."

"But mommy, where did dad go?" The answer hurt deep inside Daniel, like he had just been stabbed.

"Daddy left honey, I don't know when he'll be back. I'm sure he will be fine. Now lets go get some ice-cream."

As the two figures walked off, they began to blow away like sand blows away in wind. And every thing went still. Daniel thought one last thing to himself before he forgot.

Every pony from this world will pay.
