Oh, this is so exiting!" A booming voice startled the sleeping human, causing him to stir. He opened one eye but quickly shut it closed  as a bright light blinded his vision. Carefully he started to probe the floor with his hands. The floor was cold and hard with a smooth surface. Failing to find what he was looking for, he sat back down. "Were am I?" He asked in a croaky voice. "Why, your in my laboratory human," The voice boomed again, "oops, sorry." It said. After several clicks the mysterious person spoke in a softer voice. "Your in my laboratory silly." Oh how exiting, I've finally caught one of you creatures." Female. The voice was female. The human tried to open his eyes again, this time with more success. After the blinding light cleared away, he could tell he was in a sparkling white room. Chains protruded from the walls and attached to his wrists. In front of him was a large, green screen. With closer inspection he found that the wall screen was moving, sort of like an aurora. "Can I ask you some questions?" she asked. "What do you wan-" "What is your name?" she interrupted. After a moments silence he spoke up, "Daniel," he said flatly. "Age? "Twenty one." "Height?" "6'2" "Birth date?" "1982, what do these questions have to do with anything?" "Well...with the experiments of course." She said in a matter-of-factly tone. More scribbling came from behind the screen. "Alright lets see here...fur color is........um...dark brown. Small amounts of fur, blue eyes, strength....," She took a quick scan of Daniels body, "....muscular, sex, male." Daniel heard the click of a pen. "Ooooookkkkk that seems to sum everything up. Now if you'll just excuse me for a...." "I need to go home." He interrupted.  "Now." "B-but I haven't even begun to start my study's yet, a-and I have a friend that would like to meet you and, and...." "I need to go home now dammit! I have a wife and kids you motherfucker!" Daniel began to scream in rage, sending chills through the woman. He began to pull on the chains attached to the walls. The spots on the wall where the chains were attached began to crack and break apart. Just as soon as the chains were about to break, an electric shock ran through Daniels body, causing him to jerk back in pain. "RAAAAAAGGHHH!!!!" He screamed. Again and again the woman sent the electricity through the human until he began to settle back on the ground. Suddenly he fell silent. With another quick note, the woman began to pack her stuff. "Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! Twilights going to love this.! ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK "Uuugghhh" Twilight groaned. Throwing her covers into the air, she began to trot down stairs. KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK "I'm coming!" she called, still descending her staircase. She flicked on every candle with a simple fire spell as she reached the end of the stairs. As she reached the door, she began to unlock every bolt from the door. CLING CLANK SHLICK CLACK CLINK. "Hel-Lyra!? What are you doing here its...uhhh well its almost four in the morning!" "TWILIGHT COME TO MY HOUSE NOW!" Lyra screamed, grasping Twilight in a magical aurora. "What are doing?! Put me down this instant Lyra! she screamed, trying to fight against the magical grasp." The cold night air struck Twilight as she was pulled outside her warm tree house. "This is important twi, I think I made a scientific breakthrough! she exclaimed with a hoof in the air. "Oh twilight your going to love this." After a few minutes of walking and, well, floating, Lyras small house came into view. Lyras house was a descent size, made of clay and hay just like the many other houses in Ponyville. When the pair reached the front porch Lyra lifted a key out of her saddle bag and placed it inside the lock. With a quick clink, the door opened to reveal the house's contents. A grey, stained couch sat in front of a small T.V. that rested on two brick that were stacked on top of each other. But the what caught Twilights eye the most was the large, square hole in the middle of the living room. "Can you let me down now?" "Oh sure Twilight," Lyra happily replied, letting her hit the ground face first. "Oh my I'm so sorry!' "Its ok," she said, rubbing her nose,"now what do you want to show me?" "Just walk inside and I will." Twilight stood up and began to walk inside the strange mares house. Twilights nose crumpled up at the smell of alcohol. "So..uh you aren't going to murder me or anything are you?" Lyra turned and locked the door. "Murder you? Hehe come on Twilight you know I wont do that. Now then, come with me." she motioned her over with a hoof. Lyra lead Twilight towards the hole in the center of the room. With closer inspection she found there were stairs leading down the hole. Lyra nudged the nervous pony with the tip of her horn. Gulping, Twilight  began to descend down the stairs. The stairs were made from a cold metal. That of which Twilight could not remember. The sides of the wall was made of a soft, chrome colored material. Twilight took a step, causing a long screech. "Strange for metal stairs." Twilight thought to herself. Each step creaked or screeched under the two unicorns weight as they made their way down the long, underground hallway. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::):::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Daniel slowly opened his eyes. His chest ached with pain from the electricity the strange woman produced through the screen. "Hello!?" he called, not sure if he wanted an answer or not. After two minutes passed he began to try and stand up, but to no avail. He looked at where his chains were attached to the wall. Several cracks were indented in the wall. Daniel thought back at when he had tried to break loose and almost succeeded. Gaining what was left of his strength, he began to pull down on the chains. "Come on, come on!" he yelled, "dammit." After many failed attempts he let his arms go limp and hit the floor. The sound of foot steps came from beyond the screen. Panicking, Daniel looked frantically around for a way out, again to no avail. "Shit, shit, shit, shiiiittt." Daniel grew quite as he heard the familiar voice of the strange women. "I found it out in the- oh good he is awake." she said....to someone else. Who else was there? How many people are involved with this kidnapping? "By Celestia's beard, you really did find one Lyra!" Another female? "Hello?!" He yelled. "Oh, he's communicating? Lyra put down your spell." "Okey doki." As they spoke the magical screen began to falter, revealing two small figures. As his vision cleared, what he saw left him dumbstruck. "Hello human, I am Twilight Sparkle and this is Lyra Heartstrings." //-------------------------------------------------------// Lets Start! //-------------------------------------------------------// Lets Start! "I'm dreaming that's it, yeah y-yeah that's it. This is just one big dream."  Daniel said to the two dream induced unicorns in front of him.(I guess I don't really have to describe their colors.) He rested his head on the wall behind him. He closed his eyes for a minute then opened them. Still seeing the two unicorns, he repeated this over and over. After the tenth time he accepted the fact that they were not going away. Resting his head against the wall behind him, he began to speak. "Please just tell me where I am." Perking up, Lyra answered in an exited tone, "Your in Equestria!" she exclaimed with a large smile. "You see Twilight? I'm not crazy!" She reached out and grabbed the purple mares face, squishing it together, "I've finally found a human being!" she cheered, throwing her hooves into the air. "Hehe...ok Lyra calm down," Twilight said, rubbing the green mares back. She suddenly realized the contact and let her hoof fall down to the floor, her cheeks a burning red. After a moment of awkwardness, Daniel spoke up. "Ahem, if you two would be so kind." He said, gesturing with his hand in a circular motion. "Oh...yes hold on a sec would ya? Thanks." The large green screen appeared again in a flash of green. Daniel rested his head back against the wall, "Fuckers." :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: "Oh Twilight isn't this exciting!?" Lyra squealed loudly, hoping up and down around Twilight. "Ly-" "And know he's ours to keep!" "Lyr-" "Who knows what we can unravel from it wit-" "LYRA!!" Twilight bellowed over the overly excited unicorn. "Who knows what this...this thing can do to us! He could be as powerful as Celestia for all we know!" "For all we know he could be as weak as an ant," she said, remembering how he almost broke out of the chains she placed him in. "He seems fine to me and hasn't posed as a threat so far." she lied. Twilight pressed a hoof to her forehead. How could Lyra bring such a thing here not knowing what it is? It could have killed her in the blink of an eye. But on the other hoof, this really could be a scientific breakthrough for the pair. Of course they would have to run a few.....dozen tests to make sure he was foolproof.  But what would happen if some pony else found out? Would they tell another pony? And then that pony would tell another pony, and then that pony would tell another pony! Eventually it would reach the princess, and Twilight would be sent back to....*GASP*.......magic kindergarten. NO! not now, not ever. "Ok Lyra, we can keep the human." "*SQUEEE! Oh thank you Twi. Thank you thank you thank you!" (Author does not approve of the need of Twilights approval to keep the human.) "BUT only if you can keep it a secret. AND that means telling nopony about it. OK?" "You got it boss." This time both unicorns looked happier than before, which scared Daniel. Both looked into his very soul with their huge, evil eyes. He could see the very essence of satan in those eyes. But what was truley scary about these two creatures was the fact that are magical, talking, pony unicorns. Adorable talking, magical, pony unicorns. "Again, what do you want with me? he asked. "What all scientists want out of their sudies.'' Twilight looked at her green freind. "Progress." "And by progress you mean...?" "We're going to study you. Like I would study a frog. We're going to see what you are capable of doing. What you are not capable of doing. And what we can create with and from you." Lyra said with a large, evil, adorable grin. "But why?" he asked. Both mares froze instantaneously. "What do you mean why, human?" Twilight asked. Daniel only grew from confused to even more scared. "I mean why are you doing this to me? Why do you have to do this to me?" he asked, despair in his voice. Both mares leaned in and whispered to each other. Daniel heard several what ifs and buts, but the one that caught his ear was the word "memories". Simultaneously, both mares turned to face Daniel, Lyra grinning madly. "Don't worry Daniel," Lyra said in a smooth voice, "I have just the spell for that." As soon as she spoke those words hers and Twilights horns began to glow. Soon Daniel found his vision beginning to darken. After a second of darkness, Daniel felt something heavy fall in his chest. A bright image appeared in front of him. It was dim around the edges, kind of like in a dream. He saw nothing but whiteness. "Daddy!" "No. No that cant be." "Daddy! Where are you daddy?!" It was a small boys voice, no older than seven. The image of the boy began to appear in the white. Soon Daniel could tell what the child looked like. "Son." The child was looking for him, his father. Another figure dressed in a long white silky dress walked up behind his son. "Honey, its time to go home now." "Maratha, no." "But mommy, where did dad go?" The answer hurt deep inside Daniel, like he had just been stabbed. "Daddy left honey, I don't know when he'll be back. I'm sure he will be fine. Now lets go get some ice-cream." As the two figures walked off, they began to blow away like sand blows away in wind. And every thing went still. Daniel thought one last thing to himself before he forgot. Every pony from this world will pay. Every. Last. Both of his eyes were closed and his hands were clenched onto his chest, as if he had just been stabbed. As Lyra waited patiently, Twilight couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for Daniel. He looked so sad and cold. She took a glance at her green friend, who simply sat there with the same smile she had when they casted the spell. Twilight wasn't sure what to think of this strange mare. "Lyra?" Lyra's ears perked up. "Yes Twi?" "What are you planning on really doing with this human?" she asked, her head tilting slightly. "Well I was hoping to get some information about its abilities," she said matter-of-factly. "And what exactly are the abilities that you want to study?" "You know. How high it can jump, how strong it is and can become, how fast it is." They sat there in silence for a few minutes until Lyra spoke up again. "Oh, there was another thing I wanted to try." "And that is?" She sat there and pondered the question for a moment. "I'm wondering if there were any ways to crossbreed with it." Twilight's eyes widened. "Y-you mean you want to...." "WHAT!? NO!" She raised her hoofs in defense. "I meant to switch another creature's DNA with this creature." Lyra couldn't be serious. Crossbreeding like that could be dangerous for the creature or worse, the ponies around them. If they created something extremely dangerous and it escaped, who knows what would happen then? No, this is where she would draw the line. "No Lyra, there is no way I'm letting you go that far." Lyra looked back at her purple friend with a pleading expression. "Please Twi," she said with puppy dog eyes, "I'll only mix it with a bird or-or a lizard or something." Lyra's eyes bore deep into Twilight's soul. But instead of feeling uncomfortable, she felt.....well, she couldn't really describe it. She sat there for a long time just admiring her beautiful.....golden- "Twi?" Twilight snapped back to reality. Hiding her blushing face, she quickly looked at the unconscious human inside the containment chamber. Before she could respond, the human started to stir awake. "Lyra," she whispered. "Yeah?" "It's waking up." They both watched the human wake up from the effects of the spell. After stirring for a minute, he laid still. Both mares scooted up to the screen. Suddenly both of its eyes jolted open, causing the two mares to jump back. Both unicorns stared in fright, wondering what it would do next. But instead of doing anything it just sat there with its eyes wide open. "Where am I?" he asked, this time without fear in his voice. Lyra returned to her full height in order to address the creature. "You're, um, in Equestria," she said in a nervous tone, "H-how are you feeling?" He waited a moment before answering, "Nothing." Twilight was now standing at her full height now, "Did he say nothing?" "Yes! Oh, this means the spell worked perfectly!" "Perfectly?! That spell was only meant to take his memories away. Not make him feel absolutely nothing!" she screamed. But Lyra was too excited to pay attention. "Just watch Twi," she said in a hushed tone. Her horn lit up in a green aurora, and the chains restraining the creature rose up, only to shatter as Lyra wrenched them apart with her magic. As the metal shards hit the floor, Daniel remained silent and still. "Stand, human." Obeying, he stood at his full height. An astonishing two and a half feet taller than the two mares, making him intimidating even compared to Big Macintosh. "What did we do to it?" Twilight asked. "That spell didn't just make him lose his memories, it practically erased who he was, and what he was," she said like it was something she did every other day. "Watch this, human!" Daniel did not move from his place. "What are you?" she asked. "Human." "What do you feel?" "Nothing." "What is your place in this world?" "I do not know." "Are you scared?" "I feel no fear." "Do you feel brave?" "I feel no braveness." "Do you feel courageous?" "I feel no courage." "...do you miss your family?" "I do not have a family." That last answer left a disgusting feeling in the pit of Twilights stomach. Lyra continued with her questions. "Will you use your strength?" "I will when my strength is needed." "Who are you?" "I am no one, nothing. Is this the last of your questions?" it asked, a dull tone to its voice. "Yes, human, please sit down," she said. Obeying, the human sat down, leant its head against the wall, and closed its eyes. Twilight leaned towards Lyra and whispered; "What is it now?" Lyra kept staring at the human with the same crazed smile she had been wearing all night. She leans back in her chair and smiles. ''Its empty." The hum of a violin reached his ears. He shifted to try and ignore the noise and fall back asleep. HUMMMMM, where is that noise coming from? HUMMMM DUUUMMM SCREEEAACCHHH! "Damn this thing to hell,'' and an unfamiliar voice. Daniel sits up and looks around at his surroundings. Darkness, nothing but darkness. DUUUUUMMM HUMMMMM DUMMMMM "Ah, that's better." Where is that voice coming from? "Hello?" he said. "Behind you, friend,'' Daniel turned around to find a man in who looked to be in his forties sat on a stool. This man wore a large, powdered wig upon his head and wore strange clothes that looked to be from the 1600's. In one hand was a golden violin, in the other he held a bow. "Who are you?" Daniel asked, standing up. Smiling, the strange man placed the bow on the lowest string of his violin. "I'll answer that later. For now; just listen, friend." *DUMMMMMM* As he played the low note, ten men holding bronze violins appeared behind him. All wearing similar clothing, and sitting in stools of their own. Simultaneously they started to play the same note. The note started off as piano (soft) and gradually they took a crescendo into forte (loud) and then stopped abruptly. Suddenly hundreds of men and women appeared in an orchestra (or whatever you want to call it.) Every string, brass, woodwind, and percussion instrument was in this orchestra. The man now stood in front of his band. He raised his arms, violin gone, replaced by a baton. Ever so slightly, he flicked his arms in an upward motion...... and they started to play. 'Finally some people,' he thought to himself. Though he didn't know who they were. Stranger, he could still hear the music. As he opened his mouth to say something, another flash of light blinded him. Opening his eyes he saw that he was inside of a unfamiliar bar. All around there were people dancing, getting drunk, and getting laid. In another flash he found himself back in the car with the, now drunk, strangers. Laughing uncontrollably the man in the drivers seat took a left turn towards a large tree. Daniel reached over the seat to grab the wheel, but was surprised when his hand passed through its surface and out the other end. He looked the driver in the face and suddenly recognized him. It was Daniel driving the car. Suddenly he remembered what had happened; he and two other friends had taken a ride down to a local bar, got drunk, and left, but that's all he could remember before the car was slammed into the trunk of a tree. Daniel hadn't moved an inch, sitting in the same spot as before. The other Daniel didn't look as good. His duplicates head lay on the blood drenched steering wheel. Still the music remained in a happy tune. And suddenly he was yanked back into the dark room with the strange composer guy...thingy. "So, did you remember? Or am I going to have to run through that song again?" The stranger said. "Why am I here? Am I in hell, or is death fucking with me?" Daniel said, ignoring the mans questions. Bringing his hands to his face, he sat down. "Can you help me with this instead of memories?" The man placed a hand on Daniels shoulder. "Daniel, I can help you remember your past, but I cannot help you with your present problems. That is up to you, but for now, you must return." "Wait..how did you know my naaaMMMEEEE!!!???" he wailed as the sensation of falling set in. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: "EEEEEE" The human burst back to life screaming, scaring the two unicorns. "TWILIGHT!" Lyra yelped as she proceeded to jump into Twilights arms. Twilight struggled under her wait and both mares fell hard on the ground. "Well I guess its awake," Twilight said with a chuckle.
