Chapters The Tale of Storm Flare and Lightning Chaser
Chapter 1, "The beginning"
Storm flare woke with an unsettling jump. Something didn't feel right. He felt the scientists were planning something. No... Storm flare thought. I'm just overreacting... he thought, trying to reassure himself. You know what, better safe than noting. I better at least go check what they're doing Storm thought. He phased through his cell wall. This was an advanced power that he and his friend both had, but the scientists were unaware of ....for now.
For as long as Storm Flare could remember, he and his friend, Lightning Chaser had been stuck in this facility, constantly being experimented on by the scientists who operated this place. Now, they both weren't born here, but rather they were taken from a small village south of the Ever Free forest. They were young and wouldn't resist when the scientists tried to catch them for using them as test subjects. Both of them only knew the scientists and of course each other. They had no idea who their parents were, only they were test subjects. Nothing more. From what Storm And Lightning could gather, the scientists were being paid quite a bit of money to try and create the perfect warrior. Different powers, good endurance and stamina, and incredible damage resistance. Now, even though the scientists did give them some sorts of odds and ends of those abilities, they could never perfect it. Only certain powers were transmitted to Storm and Lightning, and as much as they both liked those powers, it took years of pain and patience to finally get a bit of power or strength or anything like that, so the facility was not such a great place. Now, after 16 years, the scientists have gathered all of the data they need, and no longer require the 'services' of Storm and Lightning.
Storm walked around the corridors as quietly as he could, until he heard the two scientists. He listened in carefully: "Sir, what shall we do about test subjects 54 and 55?" Said an old looking pony. "Who are they?" Replied his partner.
"Storm Flare, a Pegasus 16 years of age with a gray body blue eyes and black with blue streaks in his mane and tail. We also got Lightning Chaser a Pegasus, 16 years of age with a white body green eyes and red mane with streaks of black. Color also matches his tail".
" Well... we've had them here for a while. We already gathered the correct data we need but, we cant have these experiments getting out into the public. They don't know there strength. They are incredibly unstable. Just dispose of them." As the two scientists ponies went away to tend to other business, Storm Flare was around the corner, shocked at what he had just heard.
" What?! why are they going to get rid of us? Unstable? What do they mean? Oh man... this is bad I have to warn Lightning Chaser." Storm Flare ran as fast as he could, trying to process what was going on. They had been here for almost 15 years, so why would the scientists want to kill them? It was crazy Storm thought. Storm threw open the door to find Lightning sleeping in his bed.
"Lightning chaser wake up! We have to go! The scientists say that they are gonna get rid of us!" Storm wasn't sure why Lightning was always sleeping in- whether he was working on a project Storm didn't know about, or he was just plain lazy, it didn't matter. They needed to get out of here.
"Ugh... Storm Flare 5 more minutes" replied Lightning chaser, rolling over to on his other side. Even at this time, Lightning Chasers English accent still really annoyed Storm. Lightning took pride in his accent, because it meant his parents wore probably from England, and that itself was more the what Storm knew about his parents.
"No! Did you not just hear me? We have to leave now!"Said Storm flare, packing as much as he could. Lightning Chaser finally sat up.
"Ugh...but why? We're good here right?"
"No, the scientists said that they were going to get rid of us! Now lets go!" They both took what they could, and once again phased through their cell walls.
Both Ponies sneaked out of the facility to the best of their abilities.. But, it wasn't long before the older two scientists took notice of the ponies trying to flee.
"Hey! Stop it! You can't leave! You don't know what you can do!" The older pony yelled as he chased both ponies, trying to subdue them. Both ponies started trying to fly away at this point, not wanting to die. They ran down the long white corridors, trying to evade capture. The chase seemed to go on forever until some scientists got lost.
"Come on! we have to keep going! if they find us we are dead! also we have to go thorough the fucking ever tree forest!" Storm Flare yelled, quite loud, as they both were flying down the corridor, close to freedom.
"Okay okay! I'm coming! don't get your panties in a twist Storm flare!" Lightning yelled in response. Eventually, both ponies managed to shake free of the scientists and found there way out. They busted open the big metal door, leading to the exit and stumbled out into the open forest were the facility was located. They both soaked in the scenery for a second, enjoying the fresh air. Out of breath, Lightning asked,
"Storm flare?"
"Yeah, what is it lightning chaser?" Storm said back, out of breath.
"Where are we going? I mean, do we even have a plan? I'm not even really sure where we are..." Lightning said, observing there outdoor surroundings.
"Well, I heard the scientists talking about a town named Ponyvile on the other side of the ever free forest. And we cant stop now, or we might get caught, so we don't really have any other options." With an observing nod, the two ponies went off.
Time passes...
"Sweet Celestia this is taking forever" Lightning said, sitting on a log to rest his hooves. They had been walking for roughly an hour, and Lightning Chaser didn't really enjoy walking. The sky was turning cloudy, and both ponies didn't want to be stuck walking in the rain. Lightning looked around, hoping to find a shelter of some sorts.
"Hey whats that?" Lightning said, directing his attention to somewhere over to the North.
"You know lightning chaser sometimes I swear you have ADD and that thing you're looking at looks like a ruined castle. Nothing special." Lightning was still looking at the castle.
"Storm, it looks like light is coming from the inside! Maybe someones living in it! Maybe they have food!" Storm flare just went along with it.
"Yeah your right lets go check it out just to shut you up." Both ponies cautiously approached the rotting wooden door. Lightning was the first to open it. He stepped inside, rather disappointed.
"Wow ,this place looks like crap." Lightning said, peering his head inside. The place was definitely deserted, but Lightning couldn't shake a feeling...
"Yeah, you said it Lightning." Storm said, walking in after Lightning. A loud bang erupted from upstairs, and both ponies jumped in shock.
"Whats that noise coming from up there? Hell, it sounds like a fight!" Lightning said, walking toward the staircase, ready to ascend it. On occasions, Lightning enjoyed a good fight, which is why most scientists weren't to fond of Lightning. "Yeah, you might be right Lightning! lets hurry ans see whats going on! Both ponies rushed up the staircase, totally unaware of the danger that lied ahead.
"You're never going to get away with this nightmare moon!" Twilight sparkle yelled.
"Oh Twilight, you're so dumb!" Nightmare said with a chuckle, walking closer to the six wounded ponies.
"I will bring upon an endless night and terrorize the people of Equstria!" Nightmare roared, making the whole place quake.
"Like we'll ever let that happen!" yelled Rainbow Dash, standing up, readying herself for a fight.
"Bring it on!" shouted Nightmare moon, charging at Rainbow Dash.
She broke the elements harmony... what do we do now? Twilight thought, as Nightmare blocked Rainbow Dash's charge, tossing her back to the floor. Nightmare stood over Rainbow, about to finish her, when...
"Hey you can't treat girls that way you creep!" Storm Flare shouted, barging in the door. Lightning followed in behind. "Yeah, get away from them you freak!" Lightning said. They both noticed the gang of wounded ponies in a corner, avoiding being beaten by the monster before them.
"Who are you guys?" Twilight asked, looking at the pony with the blue and black mane and the pony with the red and black mane with the funny English accent.
"Look, that doesn't matter what matters is we take down this bastard." Storm said, trying to come up with a plan.
"Lightning, work your magic and try to get some lightning strikes on her!" Lightning did so, and brought down a massive storm of lightning on the monster, along with some electric shock balls. The storm of lightning brought down the rotted roof on the castle, and the ball was enough to stop an elephants heart, but the monster still stood strong. Lightning did his best, but it barely dented the monster. No matter what they tried everything was futile. Storm Flare and Lightning Chaser both used their strength and resorted to beating the monster. Lightning hit her face, sounding a crack in the monsters bone structure, but she recovered quickly, grabbing lightning and throwing him across the room. He hit the wall with a loud "THUD", spilling some blood onto the floor boards, but Storm was assured he would be alright. They both had endured worse before.
Storm kicked the monsters leg then punched it in the gut, but as soon as the blow landed on Nightmare, she grabbed Storm and hit him square in the face, tossing him to the side like a rag doll. Nothing worked and the mane 6 were forced to watch hopelessly as the two ponies tried everything, only to be pushed to there limits by Nightmare moon. Both ponies were covered in blood and sweat, still trying to defeat Nightmare.
How are going to beat this thing? Storm Flare wondered, bloody from the blows he received from the monster. Wait... I could try that new move I've been learning but is doesn't even work half the time... but i guess i have to try! Storm flare thought.
"Hey, Lighting chaser!" Storm flare yelled.
"Yeah? What is it?" Lightning said, landing incredibly fast punches on Nightmare, and dodging her attacks at the same time
"I have an idea!" Storm flare yelled back, readying himself for his plan.
"Well dammit what is it? I'm a little busy if you couldn't tell!" Lightning chaser yelled back, receiving a powerful blow to the face. He staggered backwards, wiping the blood from his face.
"You use that new Lightning move you learned on her as a distraction and I'll use my new move!" Storm yelled back, preparing himself.
"That actually just might work!" said Lightning, dodging a heavy book Nightmare had thrown at him.
"Okay, lets do this!" Storm flare yelled.
"Alright!" lightning replied, readying himself. Lightning chaser charged at nightmare moon "Take this chidori for a spin!" Lightning yelled.He charged, then jumped, spinning himself in the air like a bullet. He was soon surrounded by lightning and thunder and static electricity. The electric bullet was aimed straight at Nightmare moon, and she wasn't moving fast enough. He was confident, although his move missed and failed. He hit the wall, sending the biggest blast of electricity Storm had ever seen Lightning conjure up up the wall, demolishing it
"Ha! you missed Nightmare moon taunted, not turning around to notice Storm charging at her.
"He was supposed to miss!" Storm yelled, following up with
"Eat this you bitch! RASENGAN!" Storm flare completed the move correctly for a change. He shot toward her, engulfed in flames and pure energy. He punched her once, sending her across the room. The move sent nightmare moon spiraling into a wall. Another crack, and a small puddle of blood assured that Nightmare had been knocked out for the time being.
"I hope... that did her in" Storm flare said out of breath, the flames and energy dispersing away from Storm.
"Yeah...me...too" Lightning chaser said, collapsing from exhaustion in a pool of his own blood, sweat and waht was left of his Lightning.
"Lightning!" Storm said, staggering over to him, trying to stop himself from blacking out.
"Wait let me see if I can help..." A yellow pony with a pink mane said, walking up to Lightning Chasers body. She put her head near his chest.
"Well...he's still breathing. I think he just needs some rest, so he'll be alright..."She said quietly, waiting for a response from Storm.
"H-hello?" she looked around the torn and bloody room, to find Storm on the ground, also asleep from exhaustion.
"Well, what do we do with them?" An orange pony with a hat said, following up with
"Should we just leave them here?"
"What?! Are you crazy applejack? They just saved us! Lets get them to the hospital! Fluttershy, you think you can handle the one with the red mane?" Rainbow dash said, looking over at Fluttershy who was sill looking at Lightning's body.
"Huh? Um Yeah sure thing..." She said, picking him up. Rainbow dash got Storm Flare, and gestured for the mane 6 to follow her as she and Fluttershy started to flying out of the demolished castle tower towards Ponyville.
"Y-you think they'll be fine being in Ponyville?" Fluttershy said, flying next to Rainbow dash.
"Yeah" She said smiling. "I think they'll be fine." She said, flying next to Fluttershy, carrying the two wounded warriors to Ponyville.
The Tale of Storm Flare and Lightning Chaser
Chapter 2, "Welcome to Ponyville"
"Ugh...where...where am I?" Storm said. He looked around him, doctors and some other ponies were standing around him. His head still hurt from the merciless beating he and Lightning revived. It had taken a big toll on both of them, and the care the doctors distributed showed it. "You're in the Ponyville hospital. You and you're friend took quite the beating saving us" A rainbow haired girl replied to storms question. She looked around the room. "Where did you're friend get off to..." She trailed off for a second. Storm turned to see the rainbow haired mare as she was still looking around the room. As he was looking her over, Storm's heart started to thump. Was it the fact that being locked in a facility for almost 16 years made almost anything attractive? Or was it...something more? What is this...? He thought. Rainbow dash noticed Storm staring at her. She blushed a little bit, trying to hide it.
Why am i blushing? We just met! She thought. She pushed that thought away. "Uh...Equstria more specifically" Rainbow Dash added. Storm finally broke out of his speechless trance.
"Nice, but wheres Lighting chaser?" Storm Flare asked. Rainbowdash looked puzzled, as she did not yet know there names. Just then, Storm heard a familiar voice.
"Hey, look whose up" Lighting Chaser said as he walked into the door. He was wearing his usual grey pants, black and red shirt, blue hoodie and grey shoes. The doctor walked in behind him.
"Ah, good, you're finally awake! Do you feel any better?" The doctor said.
"Yeah I guess... just a little headache. What happened to us?" Storm Flare said.
"You guys saved us from Nightmare Moon, remember?" A purple pony replied.
"Yeah! You guys were all like POW! and SWOOSH! and KAPOWW!!!! IT WAS AWESOME!!" An excited looking pink pony said. Rainbowdash cut in.
"Well thank you....Um..."
"It's Storm Flare" he said, offering a smile.
"And I'm Lightning Chaser. Chaser of lightning and...stuff." Lightning said, trying to brighten the mood. Some ponies let out a giggle. Storm continued with,
"We're both 16 and we're both Pegasus. We don't remember much about our past except that Lightnings parents are probably British...if you couldn't tell."
"Whoa, so you guys don't know who you're parents are?" Rainbowdash said, intrigued.
"Err...no not really. We both were captured as young children to become test subjects at a facility somewhere deep in the forest. We only recently escaped. We traveled for a while until we found where you guys were held up. So i guess we're kinda caught up now right? Ha ha.." Storm let out a small laugh, feeling somewhat better.
"Whoa, cool..." Some ponies replied. Many where shocked, some looked impressed and some didn't seem to care.
"Yeah...so now that you know about us, who are you guys?" Storm asked. The purple haired girl was the first to step forward. "My name is Twilight Sparkle" she had purple hair with different color steaks and a nice, proper looking suit.
"My name is Pinkie pie!" the poofy, pink haired girl said. She wore a simple short T-shirt with the word 'CUPCAKE!' printed across it.
"My name is Rarity" the purple haired girl said. She wore a nice, white dress and had plain, purple hair with curls at the tips.
"My name is Applejack" the blonde girl said. She wore boots, rodeo jeans, a tight brown button up plaid and most noticeably, a wide brimmed brown hat.
"My name is Rainbowdash, fastest Pegasus in all of Equestria." she boasted. Storm Flare smiled at her comment. Lightning and Storm constantly had races, and though Lightning was pretty fast, Storm was even faster. They hadn't transferred the speed to Lightning, but he did get agility.
"Well then, you wouldn't mind if you were challenged to a race then?" Storm Flare said, obviously offering a challenge to the rainbow color haired girl. Rainbowdash smiled ear to ear, loving the idea a new challenger.
"I accept your challenge, but later. You don't look in the best shape to fly at the moment" Rainbowdash said, giggling a little. Storm flare nodded in acceptance. " M-my name is...Fluttershy...",Said the girl with pink hair, barely audible. She wore a yellow sweater, blue jeans and long, straight pink hair. Lightning chaser looked up at this name. He was able to hear things at very low and high decibels, and wondered why she was talking so low. The name also sounded familiar...
Didn't I read about her?...no, couldn't be...Lightning thought. Storm flare and Lightning had the ability to hear each others thoughts on occasion, and Storm happened to hear this one. Read about her? What do you mean Lightning? Storm flare thought back.
Well, I was wrong about reading about her but I was talking about... never mind. I'll tell you about it later, Lightning thought back. Storm Flare gave an observing nod to Lightning.
Lightning finally looked up at the shy girl, and his heart leaped into his throat. She looked amazing, and for the first time, Lightning was stunned.
What is this feeling? Lighting Chaser thought. Same as storm, he wondered if it was just being in the facility to long, but something inside of him pulled at his brain, telling him otherwise. When Lightnings stunning green eyes met Fluttershy, she felt the same way. They soon both noticed that the room had gone quiet, and they also noticed they were both looking at each other. Fluttershy turned away, face bright red. Lightning tried to play it off cool like he always tried to be, but his embarrassment was obvious.
"So uh... Storm Flare, you really gonna race? Haven't seen you use those wings in a while." Storm Flare coughed before replying.
"Yeah, I guess so. It's good to stretch your wings every so often right?" Storm said. Lightning did stretch out his wings and flap them a few times before returning them to their normal position.
"Well alright then. Rest up; I'm gonna get some fresh air. Come out when you're ready I guess." Lightning said, leaving the room. Some ponies muttered in agreement and also left, leaving Storm their best wishes. Rainbowdash was the last to leave. Before she left she simply said
"Don't keep me waiting to long" and with a wink, she left. Storm decided he had nothing better to do then to go to sleep and try to get better. He rolled on his side, feeling somewhat pleased with how cool he had played it off before drifting into slumber.
Lightning walked out into the bright sunlight. While Storm was resting, he decided he should explore the town and get a feel for the place. He was assuming that Storm and him would be staying here, since they really had no other choice. He saw the nice buildings and met some other people. The town was relatively nice and he was enjoying it. But, just then, he heard a noise like someone shouting. He followed the noise, and saw the same pink haired girl from earlier. His heart stopped for a second when he saw her, but he realized she was being shouted at.
Isn't her name Fluttershy? Lightning thought. He saw Fluttershy carrying a bunny, looking down at the ground. Yelling at her was another girl with short white hair, ripped brown jeans and a brown flight jacket. Fluttershy looked sad, and Lightning hated to see her like that. Even though the girl was bigger, and looked like she was from griffon descendent, he decided to intervene.
"And next time, MOVE!" The girl shouted. She was about to push Fluttershy out of the way, when someone said something.
"Hey! Leave her alone!" Lightning said, stepping forward in front of Fluttershy.
"Out of my way punk, this doesn't concern you." The girl said, trying to advance forward.
"It may not, but you don't need to yell at her! Damn, you're mean! Now apologize to her!" Lightning said, growing angrier.
"What did you say to me? NO ONE ORDERS GILDA AROUND!" Gilda shouted, charging at Lightning.
What most people didn't know about Lightning, was that if you made him angry enough, you would be in for a beating. Sure, he could punch anyone that kinda annoyed him, but if you really made him mad, he wouldn't hesitate to use his strength and lightning powers to make sure you didn't piss him off again. It didn't matter who you were, Lightning would hurt you. Problem is, Gilda did just that.
Gilda charged at Lightning, ready to strike him. Lightning didn't move, but charged a power of his own. As Gilda drew in closer, she could see something growing around his fist. Lightning had called upon a lightning charge, and was centering it to his fist. Right when she was about to hit him, Lightning looked up. His eyes had turned redder then his mane, and he looked fierce. It didn't stop Gilda though, and she threw he punch at him. Lightning put up his uncharged fist and caught her fist. Quickly, before she could escape, he used his lightning charged fist and hit her furiously in the stomach. It would have made her fly back extremely far, but Lightning caught her and threw her over his shoulder. He picked her up and pinned her to a wall. Her face was bloody form the fall she took, and she was hunched over. He made her look into his eyes.
"Don't ever...yell at her...again. do you hear me?" Gilda nodded, unable to talk.
"Now apologize" he said, his eyes returning green, letting her go. Gilda was so shocked at how fast everything had happened, that she just complied. She apologized to Fluttershy, and left. The crowd applauded Lightning for his chivalry and left. It was just him and Fluttershy now. She talked first.
"T-thank you so much Lightning Chaser..." She said quietly. She didn't like violence, but she really did appreciate what Lightning did.
"Hey no problem. Tell me if something like that happens again, okay?" She replied by hugging Lightning. He was shocked at first, but then hugged her back. It was amazing for the both of them, and Fluttershy was happy that an actual guy had shown an interest in her. When they pulled away, Lightning tried to make it less awkward.
"Um...cool bunny, Fluttershy" Lightning said, bending over to pick up Fluttershy's bunny, handing it to her.
"Oh...thank you. I have more at my house-if you'd like to come see them" Fluttershy said, blushing another shade of red.
"Sounds cool, but if it's not a problem, I'd like to wait for Storm to come out first. Gotta make sure he's alright."
"Oh...it's alright. Do you-you mind if i wait with you?" Fluttershy said, slightly louder then her normal voice.
"Sure" Lightning said smiling, sitting next to her. They both sat there, happy for once.
Time passes...
Storm opened the door to his room, leading to the hospital. He gathered his clothes, put them on and left the hospital. He did feel sufficiently better, and was ready for his race. He walked out the door, and saw Lightning outside, siting on a bench with a pink haired girl resting her head on his shoulder. He wasn't surprised at how fast this had happened. He tried his best to embarrass him.
"Well well, what do we have here?" Storm said sarcastically. The girl shot her head up, obviously embarrassed.
"Well good to see you're doing better Storm. And by the way, this is Fluttershy." Lightning said.
"...Hi" The girl said shyly.
"Well, hate to break you to up, but I think we should head out so you can watch me dominate that race." Storm said. Lightning got up, then extended his hand for the girl to help her up. then, all three set out to find Rainbowdash, Lightning and Fluttershy happy, and Storm pumped for an actual challenge.
Eventually, they found Rainbowdash, waiting for Storm. She was leaning on a wooden post, leading to Applejack's farm.
"Well, look who's up" Rainbowdash said sarcastically, punching Storm in the arm.
"Ready to get destroyed er...I mean race?" Rainbowdash said, grinning. She noticed how Lightning and Fluttershy were holding hands
"Well Fluttershy, finally find a decent man?" She said, giggling. Fluttershy blushed more. The two weren't an actual couple, (yet) but there was definitely something going on between them.
"Err...um...I- well..." She looked at Lightning. Rainbowdash understood.
"Don't tongue twist yourself sister, I get it" she said, winking. She looked at Storm.
"Now, you ready to race?" she said.
"The more important question is, are you ready to lose?" Storm said, readying his wings
"Whatever you say. Anyways, we're going from Applejack's farm, to the town hall and back, Okay?" she said, also readying herself.Before they began though, Storm had a thought.
If Lightning can get a girl, I might as well try... and this girl is drop dead gorgeous. How do i start? Girls like nicknames...right? Well...she does kinda look like a skittle. That's a good name, right? Storm decided it will do, and tried it out.
"Well I'm ready. Ready to eat my dust Skittles?" Rainbowdash blushed at her new nick name. Her silent smile she tried to hide gave Storm a sense of victory. Flirting aside, they both got set up at the starting line at Applejack's farm. She was reluctant about letting the two start a race in her farm, but Lightning worked his charm and she eventually agreed. Lightning came up to the starting line.
"Hey, Lightning, are you sure you don't want to get in on this race?" He looked at Fluttershy. She gave a smile. Lightning decided he'd rather stay here. Races weren't his favorite.
"Nah mate, I'm good here." he said. Storm and Rainbowdash understood.
"Well alright then. Just you and me Skittles."
"Alright, well on your mark I guess." Lighting said, sitting back down next to Fluttershy.
"On your mark..." Storm flare said, spreading out his wings.
"Get set..." Rainbowdash said.
"GO!" they both shouted, blasting out of the starting line.A trail of energy and rainbow trails followed them as they shot through the town like bullets. Rainbowdash was fast, but Storm was just as fast. It was a constant battle that they both couldn't win. Storm might have had the lead if he would've known where he was going. He was just following Rainbowdash's lead, hoping to not hit a wall or a bridge. Storm could tell they were nearing an end as Rainbowdash sped up, trying to win. Storm pushed with all his might, pushing back energy and clouds as wind blew past him. Finally, they passed the court house, signifying the races end. Just when they reached the finish line, they realized that they both had pretty much passed the finish line at the same time.Even though it was better called at a draw, it didn't stop them from arguing.
"I so beat you by a centimeter!" Storm said, out of breath.
"No you didn't I did!" Rainbowdash replied, also tired. They exchanged dialogue like this for about 2 minutes, until Storm just started laughing. Even though Rainbowdash was puzzled, she also started uncontrollably laughing.
"That was a good race..." Storm flare said in between a laugh. He flashed Rainbowdash a smile when he did that she felt her legs go weak and her checks heat up.
He really is something special....Rainbowdash thought.
Storm looked into Dashes eyes.
Wow...her eyes are beautiful Storm thought. Rainbowdash was thinking the same thing about Storms ice blue eyes. They soon noticed that they were staring at each other they both looked away with red faces.
"So..." Rainbowdash said breaking the silence.
"My friends should be at Twilight's library you wanna come with ?" Rainbowdash asked.
"Hey wait...where's Lightning and Fluttershy?" Rainbowdash said, scanning the area. As if on que, Lightning and Fluttershy arrived over the hill, coming towards Storm and Dash.
"There you two are! Rainbowdash is heading down to Twilight's library, you two wanna come?"
"Sounds like a plan" Lightning said. The way Fluttershy clung to Lightning said she probably wasn't going to leave his side.
"Alright, you two are in. What about you Storm?"
"Sure thing Skittles Ill go." Storm said, punching Rainbowdash in the arm.
"Well alright then, follow me." Rainbowdash said, walking ahead with Fluttershy. Lightning was starting to walk forward, when Storm held him back and said
"Hey, you want a tip man?" Storm said.
"Uh...sure? I guess?" Lightning said, confused.
"It doesn't look good to be in front of people with lipstick all over your face." Storm said, laughing a little and walking to catch up with Rainbowdash. Lightning's face turned into a new shade of red, as he wiped the lipstick of his face, running to catch up to Fluttershy.
They all walked to the library. Rainbowdash and Storm Flare were laughing and sharing there past experiences of doing tricks and crashing afterwards while Lighting Chaser told Fluttershy about all the instruments he could play, while she told him about the forest and it's beauty. Eventually, they reached the library. Lightning chaser held open the door mockingly for Storm flare and said
"Ladies first".
"Haha very funny Lightning." Storm said, walking into the place, followed by Rainbowdash, then Fluttershy. They walked into a very professional looking library, filled with desks and books and all sorts of useful things. Lightning enjoyed books, and had never seen so much knowledge into one place.
"Whoa..." Lightning said. Storm flare pulled Lighting away from the books and continued on to greet Rainbowdash's and Fluttershy's friends.
"What took you guys so long?" Twilight said
"I was having a race with Storm over there." Rainbowdash said, signalling over to Storm.
And I was racing Skittles " Storm flare said, giving a Rainbowdash a light punch on the arm.The five mares giggled at there friends new nick name and Rainbowdash just blushed. They all talked for a while Storm flare and Lighting got to know the five mares better along with Rainbow dash and Fluttershy. It was nice to feel welcomed, but there had been a question Storm and Lightning had on their minds. They had been telepathically communicating about it for the past five minutes. Since Lightning was more inclined with the whole physic ability, and it annoyed Storm that he could not communicate as strongly as Lightning, Storm finally stood up and asked the question.
"So...since we're new here and we don't have a place to stay, do you have any kind of place for us? We would sleep in the forest but the scientists may still be on the lookout for us." He asked Twilight. She she thought for a moment. The two were really nice guys...but she didn't totally trust the to of them to stay in her library. She really didn't even know that much about them. But...it seemed that the two of them had become friends with two of the mares. That sounded like an alright plan. She finally spoke.
"Well since you and Rainbow dash have become fast friends, no pun intended , you can stay with her. If, she's alright with it." Both Storm flare and Rainbowdash's heart stopped.
I'm going to be staying with Skittles ... Storm thought.
Storm is gonna be staying with me? cool...Rainbow dash thought
"And since we don't have any place for you and your stuff in my library, and since Fluttershy has taking a liking to you Lighting you can stay with Fluttershy. Her cottage is pretty roomy for the both of you, so you won't need to share a bed....even though that really doesn't seem like a problem." Twilight replied.
"Taking a liking? how do you know?" Lighting said being defensive.
"Dude, shes sitting on your lap." Storm said. The whole room looked at Lighting.
"Oh yeah....right... " he said, defeated. After that, the little welcome party soon came to an end as the sun set in the distance. Dinner was finished, and every one decided to leave after helping Twilight. Storm, Rainbowdash and Fluttershy were heading down for the door, but Lightning stayed behind for a word with Twilight.
"Hey, Twilight" Lightning said, turning around as he was about to descend the stairs to the exit.
"Yes?" She responded, a little puzzled.
"Thanks." Lightning said, giving a smile, then quickly leaving to catch up with the group. Twilight smiled to herself, understanding Lightning's thanks.
"Yeah. They'll do just fine..." Twilight said, turning off the light in the library, heading upstairs for bed.
The Tale of Storm Flare and Lightning Chaser
Chapter 3, "The Problem with Jobs"
It all happened so fast. Storm couldn't really recall everything between the clustered emotions- but he knew he was happy. He started remembering now...he had gotten into Dashes house and went on the couch and- it all happened so fast. Did she invite him in bed? Yeah...that seemed right. Storm was in bed with her and she was letting him hold her. Did she notice? It didn't matter, to Storm, it was awesome and beat sleeping on the couch by a long shot. Her hair felt amazing. He felt weird though... like she wasn't aware of what was going on. But then again, why would she invite him in bed? And he was pretty sure he had seen her eyes open a few times, and a smile cross her face. Whatever the case was, Storm had never had a better rest in his whole life. He did eventually fall asleep, and slept for a long time. It was his first natural, non-experimental sleep, and it was nice for a change to not wake up being shot full of chemicals or having dangerous rays shot through his skeletal system. He woke up without Rainbowdash next to him, but smelled coffee. He put on his usual vintage blue T-shirt, black pants, green hoodie and his flat white vans, and headed out of Rainbowdash's bedroom. He found a smiling Rainbowdash making a pot of coffee.
"Well, look whose up." Rainbowdash said, offering a cup of coffee to Storm. Storm hated to admit it, but he didn't actually know what coffee was.
"Er..." Storm said, looking at the coffee cup. He tried calling to Lightning mentally, hoping it would yield a solution. Thinking of Lightning did also offer up the question, how was his night? The girl-
"Fluttershy" Lightning corrected telepathically.
"And my night was pretty damn awesome." Lightning replied again. Storm tried to get more of a response out of Lightning, but he wasn't answering. He was to busy reminiscing about his night...He would get back to Storm in a second. He remembered having a nice conversation with Fluttershy on the way to her house. He really opened up to her, and she did the same for him. They talked about almost everything, and the moon made Fluttershy look more beatuifal than before. He remembered he told her more about life in the facility, and he showed off some of his abilities. She was excited that a pretty good looking guy was actually talking to her-and even better, she thought he was interested in her. The last day the two spent together really helped bring up Fluttershy's self esteem, and she felt like he was changing her for the better. Finally, something amazing happened that Fluttershy honestly never saw coming. Lightning asked
"Hey Fluttershy?"
"Y-yes, Lightning?" Fluttershy responded, curiously.
"Well...the last day, you have shown me true compassion and happiness. Honestly, I've never been more happy then when I'm with you, and I think I may love you, Fluttershy. I don't want this to pass by so...will you do me the honor of going out with me, and being my special somepony?". This took the breath out of Fluttershy, and she thought he was just kidding. He was a pretty funny guy...
"Ar-are you s-serious?" She said, blushing a brighter shade of red then Lightning had seen before.
"Of course" Lightning said, trying to hide his own shade of red. He was looking at the ground, hands in his blue hoodies pockets. Fluttershy was ecstatic, and she knew how she would respond.
"Hey, Lightning?" Fluttershy said. Lightning looked up.
"Ye-". He was about to finish, when she leaned in, put her arms around him and kissed him. Lightning had never been kissed, and loved that Fluttershy was his first. It was a passionate kiss, and lasted almost a minute. After that, they didn't exchange much words on the way home. They just walked home together, happy. They reached the inside, and both got into Fluttershy's bed. Since this was also Lightning's first real sleep, he couldn't remember if they did anything after that-but it didn't matter. He woke up, happy, while Fluttershy went to make him tea.
"Lightning?" Storm was repeatedly calling to him mentally still. He was done enjoying his memories, so he responded.
"Yeah?" Lightning said, hoping this was truly something important.
"This is gonna sound stupid, but what exactly is coffee? I've been standing here for about 20 seconds just looking at Rainbowdash and back to the coffee, deciding if i want some." Storm was glad that the telepathic communication thing worked faster, and made your perception of time different.
"Well, it's just caffeine some sugar and some coffee beans. If she made it, you better accept it, but it is an acquired taste." Storm took Lightning's words into consideration. He accepted the offer of coffee, and sat down with Rainbowdash.
"So, how did you sleep, Storm?" Rainbowdash said, with a sly smile. Something told Storm she knew about how they held each-other.
"Yup. She probably does" Lightning thought back.
"Ah shut up. My night was probably better then yours" Storm thought back sarcastically. He also remembered he was talking to Rainbowdash.
"Pretty good. You have a comfortable bed. but, it is rather big."
"Well, I like taking up lot's of bed space." Rainbowdash said, still smiling.
"So, I didn't bother you then?" Storm said, feeling his cheeks start to flush red.
"No not at all. If anything you're like a pillow" Rainbowdash said, giving storm a friendly punch on the arm. Storm felt his whole self go red.
"Actually, I probably had the best night ever." Lightning finally responded back.
"Oh how so? Did Fluttershy show you her bunny collection?" Storm replied, sarcastically.
"Well no. We're kinda-together now." Lightning said.
"Really? Nice. Tell me the details later."
"Alright but I kinda have to go right now. Tea time...mate " Lightning said, stereotyping the 'mate' as much as he could. Storm did wonder how that happened for Lightning but, then again, everyone could kinda tell by how Fluttershy just looked at Lightning that she liked him. Storm came out of his mid, back to talking to Rainbowdash.
"So...since it doesn't look like Lightning's gonna get in another fight, and the scientists don't know where we are, what should me and Lightning do today?" Storm said, finishing his coffee.
"Well, you're gonna need some gems to make it through living here, so I suggest you and Lightning get a sort of temporary job-if you can get Fluttershy away from Lightning that is." Rainbowdash said. So then where do we get a job storm asked
"Well... you could always get a job on the weather team with me. After all, you are a Pegasus." Rainbowdash replied
"That sounds alright I guess...well I guess it's my only option. Where do I sign up?" Storm said. He really did have no other choice. The job sounded alright-and he did get to work with Rainbowdash.
"Well it's not really that simple. You have to talk to the manager about it, and if they like you, you should be good to go for a couple of days with the gems you earn." Rainbowdash replied. She did truly hope that Storm could work with her.
" Well, who is the manger of the weather team thingy?" Storm asked, hoping it wouldn't be some of the mean ponies he had heard about.
Rainbowdash gave a smile, and simply replied with, "Me." Rainbow dash left the room and came back with some papers and other important looking odds and ends.
"Here, fill out these papers and you should be set." Rainbow said. Storm took the papers a started to fill them out. But, then he remembered something she said.
"Wait...I thought the manager had to like you before you could sign up." Storm said. Rainbowdash just smiled, winked, and left the room. Storm felt happy and somewhat fulfilled. He smiled, continued filling out the papers and imagined the day ahead.
Lightning was enjoying his coffee and the company of Fluttershy, when their came a noise outside, which was odd, since not much people lived near Fluttershy. He was enjoying his conversation, and hated to cut it short. He put on his usual clothes, and went outside to see what was going on. At first, he didn't see anything, then he saw a pony, destroying some of Fluttershy's plants and animal coops. Now, Lightning wasn't sure if he had a good reason to do this or not, but he wanted Fluttershy's approval before he had to forcibly solve the problem. He slowly walked back inside.
"Uh Fluttershy, there is someone outside vandalizing your stuff. Do you know them?" Lightning asked. Fluttershy looked out the window and gasped.
"That's Big Macintosh." Fluttershy said, cowering somewhat.
"Well, whats the big deal? I can get him out of here." Lightning responded.
"No you don't understand-he's really strong and used to stalk me a lot. I just don''t want him to hurt me."
"Hey- don't worry, I'll take care of this. He wont mess with you again." Lightning walked outside, and towards the red, angry looking pony. Trying not to just beat him to a pulp, he tried to be nice.
"Hey mate, do you need something?" Lightning said, with hints of anger and sarcasm in his voice.
"Go away city boy- this don't 'volve you. So scram, before I hurt you." Now, this was not the best time to anger Lightning Chaser since this time, it was on his girlfriends land. He tried the gentle approach, but it didn't work. It was time for Lightning to solve the problem his way.
"Alright mate, I tried to be nice but now-" Big Macintosh landed a punch on Lightning. He staggered backwards, wiping the blood from his face. He looked at the crimson on his hand, then looked up at Big Macintosh. Big Macintosh watched, as Lightning's eyes turned from their usual green, to an eerie red, that was brighter then his mane.
"You shouldn't have done that..."Lightning said. Big Macintosh wasn't scared though, as he was bigger then Lightning. Big Mac once again tried to punch Lightning, but upon activating his enhanced abilities, Lightning's time was slowed down, allowing him to catch Big Mac's fist. Big Mac was caught off guard, and his face was shocked. Lightning twisted his fist back ,while he still had it, until a shriek of pain came from Big Mac. Lightning let go, and let out a powerful roundhouse kick to the face. Big Mac staggered back, face bloody. He was slightly hunched over, but had not given in yet.
"What? I thought you were gonna beat me...You know what? I'm a nice guy, come hit me. I'm all open..." Lightning said. Big Mac took this opportunity and lunged at Lightning. He was about to make contact with him, when Lightning allowed him to phase through him. Big Mac was confused, until the pain came back to him. Lightning was now behind him, and grabbed him, punching him directly on one of his vertebrae. Then, before he could stagger backwards, Lightning grabbed him, and threw him to the ground. He raised a fist to punch Big Mac, but he kicked Lightning in the stomach. He got up, and punched Lightning in the face. He tried to get a rock to try and further damage Lightning, but he had already electrically charged himself. Big Mac raised the rock to hit Lightning, but Lightning grabbed his arm, and hit it against his knee. He then grabbed Big Mac by the neck, picked him up and said
"I...can crush you. Leave...Fluttershy alone. Never...mess with us again. You're lucky....that you're still alive. Now get out of my sight" Lightning said, sending the giant electrical charge he had charged through Big Macs body while he was still holding him, then threw him to the ground. Lightning wiped the blood away from his face, and composed himself. Fluttershy came out.
"T-thank you Lightning. I'm not sure what I would do without you..." Fluttershy said, giving Lightning a kiss. His eyes turned back to green, and he calmed down. Big Macintosh struggled back up, and left without another word.
"Damn...I need to stop getting into fights." Lightning said, hugging Fluttershy, then heading back inside.
"Should we go meet up With Storm and Rainbowdash? I think they're planning something today."
"S-sure. I can some...Right?" Fluttershy asked, nervously. Even though they were going out, Lightning still made Fluttershy melt to a degree.
"Of course." Lightning said with a smile. The two headed towards Rainbowdash's house, hand in hand.
Time passes....
Rainbowdash heard a knock on the door.
"Hey Storm, is that your friend?" Rainbowdash asked.
"Um...it probably is." Storm said quickly. "Oh-and if he is here, also be expecting Fluttershy." Storm added. He was still caught up in paperwork. Rainbowdash answered the door. Before her, stood Lightning, in his blue hoodie, black and red shirt, grey skinny jeans, and grey and black vans, along with Fluttershy, who wore her usual yellow sweater, blue jeans and brown moccasins, except that her sweater held something new: A black skull was right in the middle.
"Haha, nice skull, Flutter!" Rainbowdash said.
"Oh-thank you. Lightning Chaser helped me with it." Fluttershy replied, blushing a little.
"So-did you get the whole-you know lightning chaser thing taken care of?" Rainbowdash said, trying to whisper to Fluttershy, but to no avail. Storm heard, and interjected his commentary.
"Yes she did, my man here asked her out and now they're together, which means they van pretty much do what they did before, just with more kissing." Storm said, punching Lightning in the arm. Lightning and Fluttershy both blushed, and Rainbowdash said
"Well, this time it does look like you found someone, hehe. Well, come on in." Rainbowdash said, moving aside to let the two in. Lightning greeted Storm with
"Hey, whats good mate?" Like usual. They high fived, and he greeted Rainbowdash with a simple,
"How's it going?", offering a fist bump to her. She accepted, and invited Lightning and Fluttershy to sit down on the couch. They exchanged some small talk, until Rainbowdash asked the question that she and Storm had been discussing earlier.
"So, Lightning, it's good to see you have the whole living arrangement temporarily solved, but you're gonna need a job right?" Lightning actually hadn't thought about this, and mentioning it, Lightning saw she was right.
"Oh...good point mate. I'm not totally sure what I can do..." Lightning said, thinking more.
"Well, your friend here is working for the weather control team, and you are a Pegasus, so do you want to sign up?" Rainbowdash asked. The offer was nice, but Lightning knew that Storm had something going for that girl, so he wanted to leave them alone.
"Er...the offer's nice, but I think Storm has this covered. I think I can find a job somewhere..." Lightning said, still thinking. What other job was there? What was he good at? Then, it hit him like a bullet: Music. Lightning was extremely skilled at the guitar and piano, so maybe this could yield an answer.
"Hey...does Ponyville like music?" Lightning asked Rainbowdash.
"Of course we do! In fact, we don't really have enough musicians. Why do you ask? You good at music?" Rainbowdash said. Fluttershy let out a giggle. The night before, Lightning had brought his guitar and played her some songs, and she saw that he was indeed extremely talented at guitar, and singing.
"Is he good?....Yeah...he's good....but that's a little bit of an underestimation...Truth is...he's amazing." Fluttershy said. Storm smiled, as he also knew of Lightnings musical talent, and had no doubt he had stunned Fluttershy the night before with his musical talent.
"Really? Well damn, if Fluttershy thinks it's good I'm sure the whole town will. Why don't you go talk to the mayor about performing tonight? She's at the city hall. I'll make sure to put a good word in for you." Rainbowdash said, happy Lightning may have found a job.
"Well, it sounds sweet, but I'm not really sure where anything is except for Fluttershy's house. Can someone...guide me or something? I would have Fluttershy help me, but she has to get back and tend to the animals." Lightning said, seeing this hole in the plan. He really did need to find out where everything was in town. Rainbowdash thought for a moment, then thought of a solution.
"Well, Storm here knows where the city hall is, so he can probably take you. I can meet you guys there if you want." Rainbowdash said, proud of her solution.
"Uh- sure. Why not." Lightning said, starting to head out. He gave Fluttershy a hug and a kiss, then set out to the town with Storm.
"Alright mate, let's go. Try not to get us lost please." Lightning said, heading out with storm. They walked for a while, seeing the sights and people. For the most part, Ponyville was full of relatively nice people, but it did have its few 'bad apples'. They were reaching the city hall, when they heard something- that similar to a shouting contest. Someone was definitely yelling, and Lightning had already known that this was never a good sign.
"Ugh...not this again. I swear, if someones messing with Fluttershy again..." Lightning said, snapping, where a small spark arched in his hand. Storm got the point, but when they got up to the scene, it was something quite different- Rainbowdash seemed to be exchanging some choice dialogue with another Pegasus. He had a black jacket on with a white shirt underneath it, ripped blue pants and short, light blue/silver hair. They couldn't make out exactly what was being argued over, but it sounded like she was angry at him for not showing up for something important.
"Well dammit, show up next time! I don't care if you're sick, we needed all the wing-power we could get! And you left us!" Rainbowdash yelled.
"No! I do what I want, and I didn't feel like going! Don't tell me what to do!" The Pegasus said, striking Rainbowdash across the face.
"Thunderlane!" a violet pony with spiky hair gasped from the crowed.
"Alright, that's enough Lightning, I'm gonna go handle this guy." Storm said, briskly walking towards him. He entered the mob, and stepped in between the two.
"Whoa whoa whoa- Did you really just hit her? What kind of bastard hits girls?" Storm said, pushing Thunderlane a little.
"Stay out of this little man-and get out of here, before i decide to hurt you" Thunderlane said, shoving Storm to the side.
"Alright-you asked for it" Storm said. Thunderlane reacted fast, and punched Storm in the face as hard as he could but Storm was unaffected by this.
"How are you still standing?" Thunderlane asked in shocked. Storm and Lightning often practiced fighting each-other, so their superhuman punches built up their pain tolerance.
"You just made the worst mistake of your life!!" Storm yelled in anger. Thunderlane went for another punch, but Storm grabbed Thunderlane's fist and kicked him straight in the stomach and sent him flying in the air, but before he could go far Storm flew up, grabbed his leg, spun around with him then throw him into a wall. Thunderlane got up, face bloody. His arm looked like it had been broke, and he looked like he was in pain, but he was not going to resign that easy.
"If that's all you got, then you can't beat me" Storm mocked.
"Will you just shut up!" Thunderlane yelled in rage, coughing up blood. He lunged at Storm, but Storm vanished when he was about to make contact. Thunderlane looked around, puzzled to find Storm. Before he could react, Storm's elbow met with Thunderlane's face and he went flying. Storm contemplated letting him fall, but decided against it. Storm instead flashed under him and kick him further up in the air and flashed right underneath Thunderlane again, delivered a series of kicks to Thunderlane's sides and finished him by kicking him in the stomach.
"Lions barrage!" Storm yelled and sent Thunderlane into the ground. An audible crack was heard, and Storm was assured that he was rendered unconscious. Storm descend down back to the ground, and Rainbowdash ran up to Stormflare.
"Thank you Storm!" she said and gave Storm a hug. She tried to hide the tears and red eyes she had. Storm could tell she didn't like being hit. At least that guy got what he deserved...
"Anytime Dash" Storm replied, a bit surprised at her sudden hug. They soon noticed that they were hugging for a while and let go of each other, both somewhat embarrassed at this sudden for of public affection.
"So, all fights aside, here is the town hall Lighting. The mayors inside, and already expecting your arrival, so go on in. You'll do fine." Rainbowdash said to Lightning.
"Good luck dude" Stormflare said, slapping Lightning on the back.
"Thanks guys. I-I guess I'll see you guys later." Lightning said, opening the door to the city hall, leaving Rainbowdash and Storm to themselves. Storm searches for a conversation topic, trying not to make it awkward.
"So...when do I start my new job?" Storm asked Rainbowdash.
"Well, the weather team is supposed to meet up today in the park at 1:00 pm to clear some clouds so you can start then if you want to" Rainbowdash replied
"Cool, sounds good I guess." Stormflare said Storm look up at the clock on the town hall and noticed it was 12:00.
"Hey wait...we still have like an hour" storm thought to himself "Well...this could be my chance to make my move. Lets try this" Storm thought again,
"Hey, Rainbowdash" Storm said aloud this time.
"Yeah?" She replied.
"Well, since we have an hour before we have to get to work, I was wondering...do you want to go hang out? Like...get something to eat?"
" Sure" Rainbowdash said with a smile. It had been awhile since she actually went out with a guy to do something.
Something Special...
The words flashed back into Rainbowdash's mind. How many times had this happened? She thought. She shook that out of her mind, though somewhere in the deep dark crevice of her mind, she knew what was going on.
And she started to accept it.
They walked for a while, unable to find a restaurant, and they ended up settling for some cupcakes at Pinkiepie's cupcake parlor. They ate some cupcakes, and took a nice walk through the town, waiting for Lightning to get done with his interview. As they walked, Rainbowdash found herself walking closer to Storm as they progressed. She tried not to, but it was almost impossible to stop. Soon, they found a nice place to sit and wait while Lightning finished his interview. They enjoyed the scenery, and overall, each other. It was the best hour Storm had ever had...
Meanwhile...
Lightning marveled at the marble and polished wood finished surface in the town hall. He had never really seen anything as nice as this...
Except maybe Fluttershy...
"Nah, come on mate. Gotta stay on task...there's time for that later" Lightning thought, composing himself.
"This town just keeps surprising me..." Lightning thought, as he drew nearer to the receptionists desk. He finally reached the tall, oak wood podium like desk that loomed over him. It made him a little uneasy.
"Can I help you?" The receptionist asked Lightning.
"Uh...I believe the mayor has a meeting with me? The names Lightning Chaser?" Lightning said, still feeling a little nervous.
"Oh! So you're the one the towns been talking about! Pleasure to meet you" The receptionist said, extending a hoof for a hand shake.
"Talking abou-...what? I haven't really done that much..." Lightning said puzzled. Was it the fights?. He thought.
"Yeah! The whole town's talking about how you saved Fluttershy--twice! With amazing powers! And how you're so nice to her, and she finally has someone, and she's not so depressed and...." The receptionist went on, but Lightning wasn't really listening. He just shook his head on occasion. He understood, and just wanted to see the mayor.
"Oh listen to me, just going on like a motormouth--the mayor's waiting for you down the hall." The receptionist said, offering Lightning a smile. He gave her a weak smile back, and went down the hall, until he came to a tall, oak wood door. He slowly opened it, and walked in.
"Well hi there! You must be Lightning chaser! The names Mayor Mare, no pun intended. Please, have a seat." The mayor looked nice enough. She was a nice looking, tan pony, with voice like silk. She made Lightning somewhat comfortable.
"Er...thanks mate." Lightning said, taking a seat.
"So, I heard you're looking for a job in the music industry here in Ponyville?" Mayor Mare said, already knowing the response.
"Yes, yes that is correct. And before you ask, I specialize in guitar and the piano. And I like doing rock." Lightning replied.
"R-rock?" The mayor asked, puzzled.
"You're kidding right?" Lightning replied, shocked that her, and possibly the whole town hadn't heard of rock.
"It's something amazing Mayor, trust me. If you hire me, and let me play in town, you'll hear it and plenty of it." Lightning said, trying to convince her.
"Hmm...well, I'll tell you what. I'll let you play, and I'll pay you what you need in gems, but, you need to work with Vinyl Scratch and Octavia for at least one song. Do that, and you'll have a deal". Lightning didn't like the idea of working with anyone else, but it was for only one song. And he got to name his price in gems, so the deal was worth it. He decided to accept it.
"Alright Mayor, you drive a hard bargain, but I accept. I'll do a short concert tonight, and I guess I can throw together an ensemble ready in a week. That sound good?" Lightning said.
"Wonderful. Now, if that's all, Lightning, I guess we're done here." The Mayor said, taking a stand out of her chair. She shook Lightning's hand, smiled, and left.
"I guess she expects me to lead myself out? How odd..." Lightning said. He stood up to leave, when something caught his eye. It was a folder, and it looked like his picture was in it. Back at the lab, Lightning read peoples files all the time, so of course this one interested him. He wasn't sure if this was him or not, but he grabbed that one and the one underneath it, and quickly left and headed to Fluttershy's house to get ready for his big performance tonight.
Storm and Rainbowdash spotted Lightning coming out of the town hall, and both ran over to him to see how things went. They both congratulated him with glee, and exchanged high fives and fist bumps.
"Sweet man! You'll do great, I know it." Storm said, patting him on the back.
"Awesome! I'll get Pinkiepie to help you set up the stage!" Rainbowdash said, also excited for him.
"Thanks mates, but I need to get back to Fluttershy and get ready for the gig, ya know? But yeah, I'll meet Pinkiepie soon."
Storm and Rainbowdash nodded in agreement, and watched Lightning go home.
"So, you excited to go see Lightning tonight?" Storm asked Rainbowdash. She got a little lost thinking about something else...
Something special...
"Uh yeah. Haven't been to a good concert in a while. You think he will be good?" Rainbowdash replied, shaking the thought out of her head.
"Of course. I've heard him play a lot. I'm not sure how he'll be in front of a big crowd, but he should be good." Storm said. Rainbowdash realized that she had run out of things to talk about on this subject. No, she was focused on something else. She knew what she was going to do...
Something special...
"Uh, hey, Storm?" Rainbowdash said, plan set in motion.
"Yeah?" Storm said. Rainbowdash leaned in, and kissed him. It surprised him as much it surprised her. She finally succumbed to him, even though she thought she never would. He was something special, and she was positive that she would probably never find another guy like him.
And, she was right, in a couple of ways.
Eventually, they both pulled away, and Storm had a stunned expression on his face.
"That's for saving me...and being awesome." Rainbowdash said, smiling shyly. Storm was indeed tongue tied, and couldn't find any words. The silence made Rainbowdash happy,knowing she had actually stunned him with a kiss. It turned out well for the both of them, as this was both of their first kiss. Storm found words, and formed a somewhat coherent sentence.
"So...um..it's like 1 so shouldn't we..get to work?" Storm said, still shocked.
"Hehe...sure Storm." They both walked down to the park, ready to get to work-
Together.
Time passes...
Lightning slipped into his stage uniform-which was basically what he was already wearing, except the blue hoodie was replaced with an olive drab army jacket. When Lightning returned to Fluttershy, and explained his new found musical career, his cutie mark (Or in this case, a tattoo on his neck) finally made sense to her. It was a black Fender strat guitar, crossed over a cherry red Gibson, with a thundercloud above, shooting a lightning bolt down the middle of the two guitars.
"Oh Lightning, I know you'll be great!" Fluttershy said, getting Lightning ready with words of encouragement.
"Aw, thanks mate." Lightning said, offering her a smile. They kissed, and Fluttershy handed Lightning his Black Fender guitar.
"I'll be waiting for you in the crowd. Don't be nervous! Pinkie made the stage look awesome!" Fluttershy said.
"Well thanks for your help Fluttershy! I love you, and I'll see you later" Lightning said, giving her a hug, and heading out the door to her house. Lightning did love her with all his heart, but he needed to concentrate on his first concert. He walked through the dark town, trying to remember the directions Fluttershy had given him. Storm and Dash stopped by to say not to wait for them, and that they would meet him at the concert. Finally, after about 20 minutes of walking, he saw the stage Pinkiepie had set up. It was lit up with red and black lights, with a skull and a lightning bolt set up on the wall behind were Lightning would play. It was nice to see they had followed Lightning's instructions. No one had showed up yet, so it was a good time to get his drum bot set up. After another twenty minutes of wiring, sound checks ad getting the amps set up, he was ready to play his set list. Pinkie was responsible for also putting posters up, which Lightning was impressed with. He wasn't sure what she did, but there must have been at least 100 ponies in the crowd. He was nervous, but he saw Fluttershy's reassuring face in the crowd. He tried to procrastinate a little more, but the crowd started demanding the start of the concert. They seemed pretty excited, and Lightning didn't want to keep them waiting to long. Nervously, he walked up to the microphone.
"Alright Ponyville....Are you ready to ROCK?!" Lightning shouted into the mic. The crowed screamed in response, though they were not totally sure what rock was. Lightning responded back
"ALRIGHT THEN!! LET'S GET THIS THING STARTED!!!!" Lightning yelled in the mic. He started off with one of his favorite songs, Bat country. (Note, if you have not heard this song before, I suggest you listen to it to get a feel for the sound.) The crowd had never heard such fast guitar riffs, or such a heavy metal sound. Lightning did a great job with the vocals and the chord structures in the song, but the crowds by far favorite, was when he nailed the guitar solo. Such a thing had never been heard before, and the crowd screamed in approval. Even Fluttershy's quite 'yay' became so loud that Lightning could hear it. Lightning was pleased with the crowds reaction when the song ended. This was the begging of a very successful concert, where Lightning showed the crowd rock. He even wrote a song for Fluttershy, and dedicated it to her. All was well...Until the last song. Lightning had literally played until dusk, but nights in Equstria didn't last very long, but as Lightning had started his last song, someone had said something. He didn't quite hear whoever it was, but the phrase repeated.
"I said, are you Lightning chaser?" A gray pony with pink hair said. Her eyes were...an eerie green color.
"The one and only." Lightning replied.
"Then...your fate is immanent!" Yelled the pony, a green fire erupting around her. When it dispersed, some-ponies gasped and said
"It's queen Chrysalis!" More shape shifting ponies came from all directions, surrounding the crowd. Lightning quickly contacted Storm, who wasn't at the concert.
"Get here. Now" Lightning would have tried to take these guys on by himself, but there was just to many of the things.
"Huh? Whats going on?" Storm lazily thought back. He had had a relaxing day so far.
"Look, no time to explain, just get here." Lightning thought back, and with that, he unstrapped his guitar from himself, jumped off the stage and charged at the shape shifters, punching one in the face.
"Bring it on freaks!" Lightning said, hitting another one who had charged him, then throwing him against two more shape shifters. Two more came at him, and he shot one with a small lightning bolt, stopping him in his tracks. He grabbed the other one, broke his wrist and threw him on the ground. Soon, Lightning was covered in blood and sweat. He was exhausted, and about ready to collapse, until he saw Storm and Twilight running towards him. Storm launched an energy ball to disperse the crowd, while Twilight ran in to explain something to him.
"Lightning! If you're going to fight them, you need a weapon!" Twilight shouted.
"*pant* Well no duh! Does it look like I have one?" Lightning replied, out of breath, kneeling on the ground.
"No...not like that! An elemental one! All ponies have one! Look, you know how you can phase in and out of things?" Twilight explained hurriedly, seeing the shape shifters start to come back.
"Yeah, what about it!" Lightning shouted back, the shape shifters giving off an army like roar, Queen Chrysalis making sure to stay far behind.
"Well, phase your hand into your body! You'll feel the handle! It's the only weapon that can weaken the Queen of the changelings!" Twilight said. She ran away after explaining, leaving Storm and Lightning alone with these freaks.
"LIGHTNING! Just do it! I'll hold them off while you get it!" Storm yelled, slicing some changelings with an elemental sword of his own. It looked Persian, except it was surrounded by pure, red energy, and looked extremely sharp. Lightning decided to give it a try. He phased his hand through his abdomen, and reached around inside. At first, he didn't feel anything, but as he searched around more, he felt something...like a guitar neck. He pulled and pulled until his sword came out. He thought it was going to be something lame...but then he got a good look at it. It was a black 1960's Gibson SG, surrounded by blue electricity. Its body was sharpened to a razor edge, and the guitar neck had no strings, but it was still the most badass thing Lightning had ever held. He tried it out and swung it at some incoming changelings, and it glided through them effortlessly, electrifying them at the same time to ash. It was awesome. Lightning and Storm fought off most of the changelings, combining superhuman strength and kickass weapons to obliterate the whole army. Eventually, most changelings retreated, leaving the queen alone to fend for herself. Lightning and Storm looked at each other, nodded, and went for her. But, what Lightning hadn't anticipated was a hostage. Queen Chrysalis held up Fluttershy as Lightning was about to strike her. Lightnings eyes immediately flared red.
"YOU FUCKING PUT HER DOWN BEFORE I SLIT YOUR THROAT!" Lightning yelled, pointing his sword at her.
"Now now, calm down dear Lightning. Calm down, and I will put her down." Queen said mockingly, knowing Lightning would comply. He put his sword down.
"Good, good. We're making progress. Now, I'll let her go." She dropped Fluttershy, and she dropped to her knees.
"Fluttershy! Are you alright?" Lightning yelled. She gave a small nod.
"Hold on. You aren't leaving with her. I'm taking you with me." Queen said, pointing a weapon of her own at Fluttershy. Lightning's eyes glowed even redder.
"S-Stormm...Ge-gett Fluttershy to a-a SaFe placE. I'll...take c-caRe of this BITCHH." Lightning said, rage physically growing around him. Storm nodded, quickly picked Fluttershy up, and ran, knowing this would be a hell of a fight.
"N-Now...If you want me...Your gonna have to TaKe ME!" Lightning yelled, grabbing his guitar, lunging like a tiger at the queen. He landed a cut on her, and she fell back a little. A trickle of blood fell off her arm.
"You don't know what you just started.." The queen said, giving a smile. He punched her in the face, then in the stomach. He kicked her in the jaw, but she quickly reacted, and grabbed his leg, throwing him to the ground. Lightning was winded, and the Queen threw his sword at him, barley missing his mane. He stood up, and charged his fist with electricity, hardened it, then punched her. He missed, she spun around, but Lightning reacted quickly, and punched her hard in the back. He heard a crack, and she knelt on the floor. Lightning usually stops here, but he was going for the kill. He curve stomped her back, wreaking her more, but she turned, grabbed Lightning's foot, and dragged him to the ground. She knelt over him, punching him in the face repeatably. He called down a lightning strike, and it did stun her, allowing him to get her off. He picked his sword back up, and hurled it at her. It embedded into her chest, but she pulled it out. It just dented her.
"Dammit. This is going to be hard.." Lightning thought. She returned the sword with an equally hard toss, but lightning allowed it to phase through him. He teleported above her, then let gravity do the rest as he formed a fist. She didn't react quick enough, and he embedded her through the stage like a rivet. She shot back up, a little dizzy, and hit Lightning in his jaw. His rage blocked out pain, and he teleported behind her, kicking the back of her leg, making her fall to the dirty ground. Lightning kicked the back of her head, and he heard a crack. A small pool of blood said that the deed was done, but she got back up.
"Grr...I'm not going easy on you anymore you bastard!" The queen yelled, lunging at Lightning.
"Dammit...what's going to stop her?...Wait...I think I read that any changeling can be stopped by stopping its heart...but my sword barley scratches her. But..I control lightning..." He thought. Then it came to him. He knew what he had to do. He had read about this before, and he let her phase through her, initiating his plan. He stood tall, and was prepared. Storm was watching, and realized what he was doing, but he was to far away to stop him.
"LIGHTNING! DON'T!" Storm shouted. Lightning ignored him though, plan set and ready to go.
The Tale of Storm Flare and Lightning Chaser
Chapter 4, "Please...Wake up..."
Lightning was ready. He ignored Storm's shouts in protest, and continued forth. The queen was somewhat far back, and this gave Lightning the perfect opportunity. He looked at Storm, and mouthed the words, 'Front left pocket', then continued forward as Storm watched in horror.
"Hey Queenie...You any good in the science department?" Lightning asked, a blue electron cloud starting to form around him. He started walking towards her.
"Er...no, but this has nothing to do with this fight!" Queen Chrysalis replied back, puzzled. The cloud grew bigger as Lightning advanced more towards her.
"Well, for an atom, or anything in that matter, to be stable, you need to have your electrons balanced out with your protons, or the substance becomes unstable." Lightning said, cloud growing bigger, and only about three feet away from the queen.
"And? You're just wasting my time!" The queen said, becoming irritated. Lightning looked her straight in the eye.
"Queenie, do you know what happens when something becomes incredibly unstable?" Lightning asked, not breaking eye contact.
"Um..." The queen was puzzled.
"It explodes." Lightning said, lunging at the queen. She screamed when she realized what he was doing. He landed on top of her, and added one last electron to the cloud, making it the possible most unstable thing in existence. She couldn't escape Lightnings death grip, and within a second, an electric explosion so large that the whole town saw it, erupted, forming a huge mushroom cloud. Storm was knocked back by the powerful shock wave, and Fluttershy stared in horror.The giant electricity blast stopped the whole towns power, causing everyone to come outside.
"LIGHTNING!" Storm yelled, running towards the blast site once the cloud had cleared. Soon, others followed, understanding what had happened. Lightning may have had a high tolerance to electricity, but this was enough to get inside his system, and overload his heart. Rainbowdash, Fluttershy, Pinkiepie and Rarity all followed close behind Storm.
"LIGHTNING! YOU CRAZY BASTARD!" Storm yelled louder, flying this time. The others followed, some flying as well. They soon reached the two bodies. There was no doubt, the explosion had stopped the queens heart, and she had been finished. Lightning lay beside her, eyes closed. Fluttershy rushed over, and listened to Lightnings chest for a full minute, begging for a sign. The others looked on in silence, and disbelief at what Lightning had done. He had saved the town, but possibly at the cost of his own life. His sword lay close to him, its blue electricity fading away...
Like Lightning.
Storm yelled furious
"SOMEONE! CALL A DOCTOR!! WE NEED A DOCTOR!!" a pony from the crowed rushed off to get the doctor, while Fluttershy attempted CPR. Eventually, a pair of paramedics came with an ambulance, and lifted Lightning into the back. Storm and the mane six joined him in the back, all the way to the hospital. When the arrived, the doctors got to work, jabbing in fluid packs, Iv's, shots and other things. They stitched up his wounds, and did everything they could. Eventually, they managed a small, irregular heart beat, and the room felt less tense. There was some hope. After hours of work, they got Lightning from dead, to a critical state, and had him hooked up to a heartbeat monitor in a room, where he was resting.The doctors said not to get two comfortable, as it was only a heartbeat. Technically, he was still dead, but they would try everything they could. The mane six and Storm was in Lightning's room, just watching over him. No one really said anything, until Storm remembered what Lightning had told him...
Front left pocket...
Storm looked on the desk in the room, and found Lightning's grey pants on the desk. He went through his pants, and found what he was talking about. He pulled out, a small, folded note. It didn't say anything on the front, but realized it was quite long when he had opened it. It was addressed to the mane six and Storm, and was requested to be read aloud to them.
"Hey guys...Lightning left us a note." Storm said, voice filled with swirls of anger and sadness. Fluttershy was the only one who didn't respond, and was still sitting at the bedside next to Lightning. She looked really depressed.
"Well...what does it say?" Rainbowdash said, also sounding sad.
"I can't sum it up, but he wants me to read it aloud." Storm said. No one said anything, the air thick in the room. Even Pinkiepie was quiet. With no one saying anything else, Storm cleared his throat and began the long letter.

If you're reading this, I'm either dead, or close to it. I probably didn't survive whoever was coming after Storm and I. You're also probably wondering why I am also so accurate, right? More on that later. Let's get on with... business. I hate having to write this as much as you hate having to listen to. I didn't know you all for that long, but I definitely will miss you all- Especially you Fluttershy. I love you, never forget that, no matter what happens or what has happened. Storm, thanks for being an awesome friend. We knew each other for a long time, and we had a good run, right? (Storm noticed what looked like a small water drop next to this sentence...) Anyways, I'm letting Fluttershy take whatever she wants to remember me by. Storm, I want you to have my fender start. Learn how to play something on it maybe? Rainbowdash-I also didn't know you for that long but you did help me with a lot, and for that, I thank you. I'm leaving you my lightning bolt collection. Rarity, I honestly only met you once, and I'm not sure what you would appreciate, so you can have one thing in my wardrobe to aid in you clothing creation. Twilight, thanks for informing me on what I needed to know. I leave you my book collection. Applejack, again, I only met you once, but I'm leaving you my desperado hat. Well, that about covers that then right? Anyways- explaining from earlier- Storm, you remember when we were about four in the facility, and they injected us with the red stuff? And it hurt for about a month? Well...I found a file in the mayors office-about us. Before the scientists released us, they also released our personal files. And, I found out what that stuff was. Part of the lies they told us was right. We were test experiments. Were. About four years into the program, they had collected the data they needed. But, they wanted to extend their funds, so they invented something called, 'T1TAN'. It was basically every shot and ray they ever used on us into one concentrated dose. It was deemed unstable, but if they could correct the formula, they would be paid millions. So, they went on with testing it on us. Now, of course, this is what gave us our powers, but it did something they didn't account for. You know how we telepathically communicate? Or phase through walls? Or any other use of physic powers? Well, thanks to Twi helping me research 'T1TAN' I saw that it was not meant to have psychic powers. At first, it looks like just some minor side effects, but it made us into...something different. To put it into perspective, we are more important then Celestia. Now, don't get excited. Ironically, 'T1TAN' actually made us into real Titans. No, were not actually from the underworld, I'm just putting our abilities into perspective. But, we also poses the power to destroy all of Equestria and then some so as you can imagine, certain people are offering rewards for the capture of us, alive or dead, and more then 5 people have already taken the offer up. So, I'm sorry I didn't tell you this sooner Storm. I'm sorry everyone. But, because Storm and I are Titans, does not make us evil. We just have the powers and traits of them, so please, don't discriminate Storm. He's going through a lot right now. That's basically the situation at hand, so , I hope this is not my true end. But, if I truly am dead, I want Fluttershy to make the decisions for what she wants to do with me. I'm sorry I had to tell you guys like this. Hopefully, this is not over.

Storm was awestruck. He remembered reading about the long lost Titans tale in Lightnings small book collection. It was one of his favorites, and the tale basically told of two brothers, gifted with extraordinary powers from the Underlord himself, for the sole purpose of destroying Equestria. They were perfect, except for the facts that they had souls, which came with feelings. When they met everyone in Equestria, and saw its beauty, they couldn't bring themselves to destroy it. Instead, they use their powers to fight back the other forces sent to aid in the conquest of Equestria. It was supposed to be a fairy tale, but it was so far coming true. Everyone was shocked, and some realized that he was referencing the Titan fairy tale. They had seen Lightning and Storm's display of Titan like powers, and didn't have a doubt that this was true. They exchanged words and phrases like, 'Is this true?' or 'Do you need some time alone?' and then the plain 'Cool..'. Most ponies decided it was a good time to leave, and had taken what Lightning had left them. Most had tears in their eyes, as Lightning was a good friend, and he had sacrificed himself for a town he barely knew. It was brave of him. Everyone but Storm and Fluttershy left. She was looking at the ground, not saying a word. Storm felt bad for her, and tried to comfort her.
"So...what do you think you're gonna take? I can get it for you if you want." Storm said, trying to be as calm as possible.
"...Nothing." Fluttershy said sharply. Storm was puzzled. Didn't she love him?
"I'm-I'm not sure if I understand what you mean." Storm said nervously, getting what she was implying.
"Nothing. You can only take things from peoples will if they're dead and Lightnings not dead.." Fluttershy said, quivering on the last word. Storm knew it, and he felt like a jerk for saying it.
"I-I'm sorry. I'm just gonna let you have your time with him..." Storm said, slowly walking out the door. Fluttershy didn't look up. She really did love him...
Time passes...
Fluttershy woke up in Lightning's room. She hadn't left him since he had been in the hospital, and was determined to stay with him until he woke up. She looked at him, then the heartbeat monitor that he had been hooked up to. She had memorized what the doctors told her the problem was...
"His heart was overloaded, and was dead for six minutes. The volts of electricity shot through him was enough to power Ponyville for three days. It would be amazing if his heart was ever the same again. Also, his brain had been temporarily stopped. Though he won't suffer brain damage, it has induced an indefinite coma." The coma was the real problem, as his heart was now far better. It was still irregular, but it was faster then earlier. She listened to the monitor. It was calming to know that the one she loved was still alive. The doctors said it was a marvel that he had actually survived a lightning blast that big, so he was lucky. Storm burst through the door. His eyes looked red like he had been crying. And, indeed he had. He had been thinking a lot, and the realization of his best friend being...simply gone had finally sunk in on him.
"Fluttershy..I need to be here alone for a sec..."Storm said. She understood, and left the room. Storm sat at the edge of Lightning's bed.
"You know...you're being selfish. We all miss you and you're just...thinking of dying? Of quitting? Just...leaving us here? What about Fluttershy? Doesn't she matter to you? What about me? Don't...I mater? Why wont you just wake up? Huh? WAKE UP! WAKE UP DAMMIT! FUCKING SIT UP AND WAKE UP!!!!" Storm said, breaking out in tears. Everyone missed Lightning, but Storm was really hurt. I felt like something was missing. He sat there, screaming some more at Lightning. He just didn't know what to do anymore. It was all to much. Storm left the room ten minutes later, and Rainbowdash was waiting for him. She had heard him, and knew talking wouldn't help. The two silently left back for Rainbowdash's house.
A week passes...
It had been a full week, and Fluttershy had finally gone home. The doctors weren't sure if Lightning would ever recover, and Fluttershy needed to tend to her animals. It was calming to an extent. She was still heartbroken, but she wasn't going to let anything else die...
Fluttershy quietly tended to the animal coops outside, feeding them and taking care of other odds and ends. It was quiet, as Lightning usually talked a lot when helping Fluttershy. She really missed him...She was putting away the tools, when she heard a very faint noise...like footsteps on grass. She turned behind her, but found nothing.
"Must be in my head..." Fluttershy thought. She went into her shed, and put the tools away. She looked up, and headed back indoors to get back to sleep.. That's about all she had been doing lately...She turned around to head back inside, only to be greeted by a big, red pony.
"Well hi there." Big Macintosh said, grinning from ear to ear.
"B-Big Mac..." Fluttershy stammered. "W-what are you doing here?"
"Well, your pretty boyfriend really did hurt me, and since he's in the hospital, you're gonna have to take his beating for him. Oh, and ah brought me a friend to help...deliver the message." Big Mac said slyly. Gilda stepped out from behind a tree.
"He really is a jerk. And, I don't like you, so it's kind of a win win- for me anyways." Gilda said, cracking her knuckles. Fluttershy was trembling. She didn't know how to defend herself, but she would have to try. She put her fists up, readying herself to get beaten.
Maybe, after this, they are going to leave me alone, Fluttershy thought. Big Mac smiled and drew his fist back, and hit forward with all his might. Fluttershy flinched, ready to feel the sharp pain. But, it never came. She opened her eyes in shock.
"L-Lightning?" She managed to stammer out. He was standing in front of her, and had Big Mac's fist in his right hand. Big mac looked at him. He was breathing heavy, and this time, both of his eyeballs were full red. There was no white or anything. Just red. Big Mac looked behind him, expecting to find Gilda. He did find her, but she was on the ground, clutching the left side of her rib cage. Lightning had flown over, as fast and hard as he could. He delivered a flying v kick of massive proportions. He had used the energy he had gained from his furious flight over to achieve this kick. When his foot made contact with her rib cage, a loud, audible crack was heard. He was certain that he had shattered the left side of her rib cage. He then saw Big Mac about to punch Fluttershy. Right when his fist was about to hit her, he had teleported in front of her and caught his fist. This is where they were now.
"YoU jusT maDe The WORST MiStaKe of yOuR LIFE. I GaVe yoU A Chance....BUt NoW..." Lightning said, purposefully not finishing the sentence to let Big Mac think of his own fate. Big mac tried to escape, but Lightning quickly twisted his arm behind his back. Big mac squealed with pain. He then threw him over his shoulder, where he landed on Gilda. She stood up, coughed up some blood, and charged at Lightning. She stuck him with her talons, but he kneed her in the stomach in response. She hunched over, which threw her into more pain because of her shattered ribs. He kicked her to the ground, and was about to unleash a barrage of punches, but Big Mac grabbed him from behind. Gilda quickly stood up to try and hurt Lightning while he was vulnerable, but Lightning stomped on Big Mac's foot. He released Lightning accidentally, and Lightning then swept Gilda's feet from under her, quickly caught her then throwing her at Big Mac. He heaved over in pain, but saw a piece of glass on the ground. He pretended to fall and picked up the glass shard. Lightning walked over to him, but Big Mac stood up and embedded the glass shard in Lightning's chest. It barely missed his heart, so it didn't do anything but piss him off more.
"Oh...we're playing that way.." Lightning said, ripping out the glass shard and pulling out his elemental Gibson SG sword. He lunged at Big Mac and quickly slashed his through his lower arm. Not only did it cut off his lower left arm, but it sent a huge electric shock through Big Mac. He kneed on the ground, blood spurting from his wound.
"Yield" Lightning said, pointing his sword at Big Mac. He looked up, pain in his face
"Ne-never." Big Mac said defiantly. Lightning wasn't going to kill either one of them, but Big Mac had asked for it. He would be in the hospital for a while. Lightning raised his fist, about to black out Big Mac, but Gilda was right behind him.
"S-Surprise" Gilda said, stabbing Lightning all the way through the chest with a long, jagged piece of metal. Lightning's red eyes met her amber eyes. Gilda's pleased expression dropped, realizing that this had barely affected him. He quickly grabbed her neck, picked her up, sent a static charge up her, then threw her to the side. He pulled out the makeshift blade, and dropped it with a clang. He gave Big Mac a powerful kick, and he fell unconscious. Lightning panted, eyes slowly returning to green. Fluttershy gratefully hugged Lightning for saving her.
"How did you-" Fluttershy started. She stopped her short.
"I'll tell you later. Just call an ambulance for now." Lightning said, sitting down. Fluttershy nodded, and went inside, phoning the hospital.
Soon enough, the ambulance came to take care of Big Mac and Gilda. The police also arrived, arresting the two for assault. They were going to arrest Lightning, but Fluttershy had explained to them how he saved her, so they left him with a warning, advising him to stay out of trouble. Soon, Rainbowdash, Storm, Twilight, Rarity, Pinkiepie and Applejack showed up to see that Lightning was for a fact awake and healthy. All of them pestered him with the same question: "How did you do it?" He was going to answer the question, but only when everyone was listening, so he wouldn't have to repeat himself.
"Alright, alright I'll tell you. It's nothing really spectacular, I was just asleep, then something like a giant electric shock went through me, then showed me what was happening, so I flew over as fast as I could. That's really it." Lightning said, tired. Being stabbed took a lot out of you.
"But-you were stabbed all the way through your chest. How did you survive?" Twilight asked. Lightning calmly looked at her.
"I'm a Titan." Lightning said, putting his Gibson SG away in his body. Yes, he was a Titan, but it didn't mean he couldn't feel pain. Everyone could tell, and soon left to let Lighting get some rest. Storm and Rainbowdash returned to Dash's house and being in a good mood and happy for Lightning's recovery, they raced each other there. It wasn't too competitive, but it was still fun to...well just have fun. They walked into the house laughing. Rainbowdash was happy to see Storm in a better mood. They went to the couch and sat down to watch TV.
"What do you want to watch Rainbowdash?" asked Storm, making himself comfortable.
"What ever I guess. It doesn't matter to me." Rainbowdash replied. Unable to decide, they sat there flipping through the channels. Storm just sat there and watched some mindless show for a while. Then, he stared to remembered when Rainbowdash kissed him and how good it felt. He was thinking of what he was going to do. He didn't want Rainbowdash to think he was uninterested. He finally came up with a plan and sat there for a while then he finally built up the courage to carry out his idea.
"Quit being a wuss mate, just do it." Lightning telepathically sent to Storm. Storm chuckled a little.
"Good to have you back man." Storm sent back. Then, he turned to Rainbowdash.
"Um...Hey Dash?" Storm called.
"Yeah, what is it, Storm?" Rainbowdash noticed that Storm was sweating and his face was red.
"Uh...I think your the most beautiful mare I have ever seen and ever since i got here I've had feelings for you and I was wondering if would go out with me and be my special somepony..."Storm rattled off nervously. Rainbowdash was stunned by this. She finally had heard the words she was waiting for him to say. As she was thinking about this, Storm didn't know what to do because she wasn't answering so he did what came do his mind first. He slid over, leaned in and kissed Rainbowdash. Rainbow soon felt his lips touch hers her mind went blanked and kissed back. Both of there faces were red and their hearts were beating a mile a minute. Dash soon pulled away to answer Storms question.
"Yes, I'd love too..." Rainbowdash said happily.
"You really think I'm beautiful?" Rainbow asked with a red face. Storm answered like she knew he would.
"Yeah, of course! Your hair is pretty and your eyes are amazing over all your just drop dead gorgeous." Storm said. Dash smiled, and they continued kissing. It was the best day ever for Storm...
"I'm just so glad you're back!" Fluttershy said, hugging Lightning even tighter. They both were in bed, and Lightning was resting from his long day.
"Yeah, me too mate. Being dead ain't to fun ya know?" Lightning said back, looking at her with his cool, green eyes, and smiling. It was soothing to hear his accent, and see him next to her. She leaned in and started passionately kissing him. Lightning did the same, and soon, the both were intertwined with each other. Lightning and Fluttershy really got into it, and soon, kissing turned into touching, and that escalated to...more serious things. Fluttershy was nervous at first, but she knew what she was doing. And surprisingly, so did Lightning. Of course though, they both had Ponynet connections... Lightning showed Fluttershy what he knew, and Fluttershy showed Lightning what she knew. It was an awesome night and well...
It was a nice 'welcome home' gift for Lightning.
Time passes...
Lightning woke up.
What a kick ass way to recover from being stabbed...He thought. He thought about a lot now, like how he probably was never going to leave Ponyville, or how cool being a Titan was. There was a lot going on, and for once, it wasn't all to bad. After all, he did get to preform another concert soon, he would soon be getting his gems, and he had Fluttershy. She had fallen asleep now, and he looked over to her. Even asleep, she was stunning. He got up out of bed, threw on his usual clothes, and explored the house for some tea. Fluttershy did make the best tea Lightning had had for a while...among other things. He found some in the fridge, poured himself a cup, and enjoyed the morning sunrise. He had been up for a while, and had intended on seeing the sunrise since he had only seen artificial ones before. It was a true sight to behold...He finished his tea, and went upstairs to wake Fluttershy.
"Hey mate, the suns up...so you might want to get up ya know." Lightning said, lightly shaking Fluttershy awake. Her cyan eyes fluttered open, landed on Lightning and smiled. She stretched, and sat up. Soon, after throwing on her sweater with the lightning skull Lightning had helped her design with her blue jeans and moccasins, they had breakfast and discussed their plans for the day. Lightning also remembered what Storm had done yesterday, reading his mind the whole time. He told Fluttershy.
"So, I heard Storm and Rainbowdash are together now." Lightning said, mixing in some sugar in his tea.
"Oh, really? Good for him and her I guess." Fluttershy said. She wasn't too interested in Rainbowdash's personal affairs, and would rather spend time with Lightning.
"Yeah. Mate's been after her ever since we got here, so I imagine he's happy." Lightning said, staring out the window. He wondered he was going to do today. He was fully healed, so the opportunities were open.
"Oh, and before I fall asleep or something, do you want to go out and do something today?" Lightning asked.
"Oh-um, sure. I'd love to!" Fluttershy said. She still wasn't used to being in a relationship yet, as being with Lightning was too good to be true. It was gonna be a good evening...Lightning thought.
Now, lets step away from this for a second. Now, this is the part where you, the reader say to yourself,
"Alright, the stories OK, but the plots...not going anywhere. It's romantic, and there's some fight scenes that the two will never lose. This isn't really different from anything else.." And yes, at this point you are correct. What's odd is that I'm addressing it, right? Well, don't worry. You can go back to reading soon, I just want to point some things out. So, first. don't you think it's odd that Lightning chaser mentions having an English accent, and the only one who addresses it as being from England is Fluttershy? Do the other ponies only know of Equstria? Lighting reads a lot, and in the lab he had a book that talked all about England, and that's how he knew of it. Also, even though the two may be strong, isn't odd that their attackers never fight back? I mean, they would at least make an attempt to harm them more then just the occasional punches? There's a lot of tiny things like that, that Lightning and Storm don't notice, since they had been having a good time. Maybe you did see these tiny things. Or, maybe you liked the tale to an extent, to where you didn't notice these things- like Lightning and Storm. Anyways, that is all for now. Shall we return to the tale?
Meanwhile, somewhere deep in the Everfree forest...
"OK sir, they've been there for almost two weeks . We know how they react around people, and Lightning and Storm know of project T1TAN. Phase one has been completed, should we move onto phase two?" A tan pony in a white lab coat said to his partner.
"Well, we would be all clear, but the two have failed themselves. They have shown the true extent of T1TAN, but they have emotions for the other ponies- so they won't destroy Equstria when we ask them to." As the blue pony finished his sentence, another yellow pony walked in, seeing how their plan was going. The thing was though, he did not know of their full plan.
"Sir, how are th-" The pony stopped as he looked on the monitor in front of the other two lab ponies. It showed the two subjects in Ponyville- which wasn't part of their original plan.
"Whats going on with the two test subjects? I thought we sent some CLAW units to go hunt them down when they escaped." The yellow pony was puzzled now.
"Well, since phase one has been completed, I think it's safe to tell him." The tan pony said to his blue partner.
"OK, well, we foresaw the two escaping soon, and we let them escape. If we honestly wanted to catch them, we could have, but we had another plan. Project T1TAN was funded mainly by ponies who wanted Equstria gone, so we decided to see how the two test subjects would react in an environment where the opportunity to make friends and enemies was present. We needed to make sure that they would have no remorse for the people in the town, but sadly, that was not part of their personality. So, we need to get the two back here and...make some adjustments. Then, we can rain down an Equestrian apocalypse with the two ponies who they thought where saving them." The yellow pony was shocked.
"Should we use the TI-087 to warn them to turn themselves in?" The tan pony asked. The yellow pony was still in shock, and couldn't say anything.
"Sure. Boot him up." The blue pony said, getting back to his computer. "And while you're at it, boot up TI-088. Don't want those two to try anything funny." The yellow pony was shocked at how calmly they were handling this whole situation. They were planning on destroying something big...the place they lived in. Hiw could they do this?
"Wait wait wait...you gave these two a false sense of freedom, let them get to know the towns people only to recapture them and make them into emotionless robots to destroy a town? For what- some gems? People live there! The two subjects have girlfriends! And friends! You cant do th-" A sharp crack was heard, and the yellow pony fell to the ground, blood and brain matter pouring out onto the lab floor. The blue pony lowered his .357 revolver back into his holster.
"That should shut him up." The blue pony said, not even taking his eyes of the monitor. The tan pony left the room, getting ready to boot up TI-087 to warn the two ponies of their fate.
Meanwhile...
Storm and Lightning were both on dates with their mares. It had been a rather uneventful day, so it was nice to get out of the house. Lightning and Fluttershy had gone to Pinkiepie's bakery for some pastries and coffee. Storm and Lightning were taking a nice walk downtown, enjoying the sights. Storm of course, had been expecting a fight, and he had come prepared since Big Mac tried to get revenge on Lightning.The two talked and laughed, seeing the sights. It was all going well... but then, Storm saw Thunderlane, followed by two dumber looking ponies.
"There you are you bastard..." Thunderlane said, briskly approaching Storm and Dash. His two henchman followed close behind him. He pushed Dash to the side, and picked up Storm by his shirt collar.
"You think your little stunt back there was funny? Huh? I had to go to the hospital for a fucking WEEK!" Thunderlane said, getting angrier. Storm laughed.
"You think you scare me? Haha...Funny. Even if those two ponies back there could fight worth a shit, Lightnings got my back. I probably won't need his help though, seeing your not even the slightest bit of a threat." Thunderlane raised a fist to punch Storm in the face, when Storm kicked him in the gut. He dropped him and fell to the floor. Storm walked up to him, bent over and was about to beat the lights out of him, Lightning coming behind him, to make sure the two henchman didn't try to interfere. But, a giant explosion erupted nearby, interrupting the party. Everyone looked above them, to find a robot. There was two actually, but only one had fired a missile. They both descended downwards. Their appearance was shocking- they were both an exact metallic copy of Storm and Lightning. Their eyes were big blue visors instead of being eyes, and a closer examination revealed that there were indeed human eyes behind the tinted visor--were. Robo-Lightning, or as printed on his shoulder plate, TI-087, was the first to talk.
"Lightning Chaser...Storm Flare. We are here to warn you--you have a day to turn yourself in back to the laboratory from which you came. Otherwise, we will forcefully take you back while you watch your town crumble before you. You have been presented with these choices, and cannot say you have not been warned. I hope you make the best informed decisions. Agent Mac, Agent Gilda, come with us. Your job here is done. Good day." Robo-Lightning said, looking up the two ponies. Big Mac and Gilda stepped froward, ready to follow the two cyborgs. Lightning stepped forward.
"Whoa whoa whoa...who the hell do you think you are? And what the hell is this? Your..some imposter? I'm the real Lightning." Lightning said, telling off Robo-Lightning. Robo-Lightning turned around, speaking.
"The two scientists who studied you before in the lab, let you escape into an environment like this to see how you would react to other ponies. They sent out Agent Mac and Agent Gilda to test the true powers of the T1TAN mixture. They also built me and TI-088 to aid you two in the conquest of Equstria--once they were done tweaking you a little bit. You two showed to much compassion, so they need to make some small adjustments. Here. Make your choice wisely." Robo-Lightning said, throwing a map towards Lightning. Lightning and stormed were shocked...they were still being used as lab rats.
"What?...They're still...using us? Like fucking RATS? Tell your boss to screw off! I'm not going with you! EVER!" Lightning yelled, getting angrier.
"If it's a challenge your offering, I'm afraid I'm going to have to harm you." Robo-Lightning said, pulling out a replica of Lightning's Gibson SG sword. It looked like it, except it wasn't surrounded by lightning. Lightning did the same.
"Bring it on robo freak!" Lightning said, charging the cyborg. It moved just in time, but Lightning hooked him, and swung around, hitting him in the face. But...he forgot it was half metal. It hurt his hand, so he electrically charged it, then hardened the charge. He hit the cyborg, this time having more effect. On the fifth hit though, the cyborg grabbed Lightning, and threw him against a wall. He slowly got back up, picking his sword up with him.
"Alright...time to die!" Lightning said, ready to charge. Storm was about to step in and help, but the cyborg version of Storm flare stopped him.
"Let them fight it out. It may influence your decision" the cyborg said. Lightning sliced Rob-Lightnings arm, spilling mix of black and red stuff to the ground. The robot used his sword, slashing at Lightning. He moved, dodging it to were it just barely scratched him. He delivered a roundhouse kick to the monsters face, slightly denting its faceplate. It suddenly grabbed Lightning.
"I've had enough of this! Prepare to die... mate !" the robot said mockingly. It got its sword, and stabbed Lightning through the chest, spilling blood everywhere. He tossed him aside like a rag doll, sheathing his sword. Lightning couldn't have survived that- in fact he didn't.
"You know TI-087...they did want him brought back alive." Robo-Storm said, studying the body.
"He chose his own fate. You know your options Storm. Turn yourself in, or die like your friend." Robo-Lightning said, flying off with Big Mac and Gilda. Robo-Storm followed his lead. A great pot of boiling rage shot through Storm...but there was nothing he could do. The cyborgs had no emotions, and barely felt pain. It was like fighting a boulder. He couldn't win. He looked down at Lightning's lifeless body, a big hole through his chest. A tear formed in Storms eye.
"Don't worry Lightning...we'll get those son of a bitches...if it's the last thing we do!" Storm said. He had had about enough. Who the hell were those guys? How did they find them so fast?
"FUCKING SCIENTISTS!" Storm yelled, punching hole in a brick wall. They were still being tested... A mob surrounded Lightning's dead body. Storm slowly walked off, determination in his eye. There was no way he was going to destroy Equstria. He knew what he was going to do...but he needed Lightning's help. But, what Storm didn't know, was that Lightning had a plan of his own, and Robo-Lightning had just sent the worst mistake of his life rolling down towards him.
Oh...there will be blood. Storm thought.
