Chapter 1: The Observer becomes the Eggresser

Planet Mobius; a peaceful world where harmony is in full bloom. Animals and humans live together in a glorious harmony and friendship. But such peace was but a pipe dream for so many years prior to this day. An evil genius, Dr Ivo Robotnic, known to others under the alias Eggman, nearly ravaged the world in his conquest. Imprisoning all manner of woodland creature for his sinister plans. For on Mobius, all animals carry a fragment of the planet's energy, the chaos force; said to be named after the ancient Echidna deity Chaos. With his stunning discovery, and far superior intellect, he began to hunt down every small and frail creature he could find. With these creatures now under his oppressive thumb, he started his hostile take over. He lead his mechanized army in a full scale assault against the world. He had calculated every possible outcome there could have been. But such is the nature of chaos, something went wrong. One of the creatures he had sought to oppress fought back. A navy blue hedgehog with a too cool attitude foiled his plans at every turn. This renowned struggle spanned the globe time and time again. With Eggman staggered and frustrated he retreated from his latest loss. And so, on a peaceful day like this, the blue hero simply relaxes in the shade of a tree. But the question remains, who is this young hedgehog? Some call him a savior, others say he is the embodiment of the wind itself. But his friends just call him:

“SONIC!!!!” a child like voice called out. Waking from his well earned nap, Sonic looked over the side of the branch he had nestled on. Below he saw his best friend, a young gold-yellow fox about 12 years old in age. His sky blue eyes stared up at his best friend and personal hero as his twin tails swayed behind him happily.

“Hey Tails, whats goin' on bro?” Sonic asked stretching out. He scratched the back of his quills and yawned out. Tails smiled and shouted up his response.

“Cream and her mother are throwing a small get together and they wanted me to invite you!” he shouted happily. He had a look of anticipation knowing that Sonic would defiantly say yes. But to his slight shock, Sonic rolled over and layed back down.

“Thanks for the invite, but I think I'll pass on this one little dude. Give the crew my best though,” he said waving Tails off and attempted to go back to sleep. Though slightly disappointed, the clever little fox did have a ace up his sleeve.

“That's too bad you don't want to come. I heard that Mrs. Rabbit was gonna be making chili dogs too to celebrate you beating Dr. Eggman. Oh well,” Tails said walking off. Sonic's ears perked up at the prospect of Chilly Dogs. He turned to see tails walking at a casual pace. Tails was smiling to himself and counted down in his head.

“3...2..1..and..” he thought.

“Well lets not keep em waiting!” Sonic shouted rolling off of the branch. He landed on his feet and immediately sprinted past his two tailed friend. Tails smiled and started spinning his tails like helicopter blades. Flying almost as fast as Sonic was running. Even though Tails could fly fairly fast on his own, he know Sonic wasn't even trying to run as fast as he could. Sonic was the fastest thing on this planet, and probably the known universe as far as he was concerned. The blue hedgehog looked back at his bud and sped off. This is how things ought to be on Mobius. Peaceful and filled with fun. But as the young heroes rushed to meet their friends, the good doctor was scheming and planning. Well...sorta

“That accursed hedgehog!!! That filthy little rat has foiled me for the last time!!!!” Eggman screamed at the top of his lungs in his laboratory. He flung plans and blue prints all over and off of his desk and tables. The portly scientist growled pulling on his long mustache in his frustration. “He dose it every single time!! Nothing I do works on that menace!!” he screamed and raged. He continued to proclaim his rage and hate for what seemed hours. He smashed his fists on a console and fumed more. His rage subsided in a split second as he noticed one of his monitors. “Oh ho! One of my probes has found a similar energy signature to the chaos force! This is fantastic! I must analyze this world immediately,” he said aloud to no one really. His prob had been orbiting for some time and had gathered significant intel. He looked over the energy signatures and smiled. “If these readings are accurate, then this energy is more plentiful then chaos energy. And more widely accessible. What creatures could possibly control power of this magnitude?” he asked himself. He engaged the probes audio and video feed. The first image he saw was of Vinyl Scratch rockin' a club in the crystal empire. Eggman literally fell backwards as he observed. He saw more unicorn ponies using their magic in their daily lives. He looked in wide eyed amazement at how they seemed to easily use this power in seemingly ordinary ways. With the more he watched, the more he smiled. “oh ho ho ho, this is going to be fun...” he said stroking his mustache. As he began plotting his latest conquest, Sonic and Tails were still in transit to Cream's house.

“Hey Sonic!! We gotta stop by my workshop real quick!” he shouted to the far ahead hedgehog. Sonic gave him a thumbs up and veered off in that direction. After a few minutes of high speed travel they arrived at Tails' trademarked workshop. The exterior made from brick and steel colored siding. Sonic screeched to a stop and a few seconds later Tails landed next to him. The blue hedgehog skipped a bit as he stopped and they headed inside. “Sorry, but I needed to pick up something Cream wanted me to make,” Tails said heading to his work bench. Laying out were several black wrist bands with digital displays.

“And that would be?” Sonic asked slightly annoyed. Tails grabbed the bands and tossed them into a messenger bag with his twin tail logo on it.

“They're wrist communicators. Cream thinks we need them to keep in touch with everyone,” the orange fox said tossing the strap onto his shoulder. Sonic smirked hearing the reasoning and wrapped his arm around Tails' neck.

“Yeah right,” he said teasingly. He poked Tails' fur covered muzzle and laughed. “Everyone knows that that little rabbit has quite the crush on this little egghead,” he said letting Tails go. As Tails straightened himself out Sonic leaned against the nearest wall. “And speaking of eggheads, you get the feeling that the other 'egghead' is up to some new tricks?” he asked looking at the sky. Tails rolled his eyes after brushing himself off.

“i doubt it. Didn't we just take him down a few pegs just a week ago?” Tails asked. He walked up to Sonic with an eyebrow cocked. Sonic smiled lightly.

“Yeah I know, but still. He never stops,” Sonic said shrugging. He smiled rather lightly and headed out the doorway. With Tails in tow once again they headed to Cream's place. It wasn't too far from Empire City. About ten minutes later they arrived at Cream's place. After a quick hop from the true blue hero, Sonic and Tails walked up to the door and rung the doorbell. A few seconds passed and the door opened. A small light tan rabbit was behind the door wearing a nice orange dress.

“Hey there Mister Sonic....hello Miles,” She said rather cheery. As she spoke Tails' real name she blushed a nice cherry red. Tails quickly noticed and his cheeks turned a similar shade of red. Sonic smiled slyly watching the two of them. They were too cute. Sonic placed his hands on Tails' shoulders and smiled at Cream.

“Hey there Cream. How are you and your mom?” He asked breaking the atmosphere. Cream looked up at him and smiled like a sweetie.

“Oh she is fine. Please come on in,” she said leading them in. Shadow kicked the dirt from his sneakers and walked in with the fox in tow. The three walked into the living room, but just as soon as they were about to sit down, a very very shrill voice screamed out.

“SONIC!!!!” the voice screamed. Sonic and Tails winced at the scream. Sonic looked to his left in time to see a large red and yellow hammer smash into his face. Time slowed for a sec just before impact. Sonic sighed softly and just said one thing.

“Hi Amy,” he said under his breath as the flat surface of the hammer mashed into his face. His head snapped back and smashed into the floorboard. Standing over him holding said hammer was a rose pink hedgehog wearing a red dress. Her green eyes glared down with fire in them.

“YOU TOTALLY DITCHED OUR DATE LAST WEEK!!!” she screeched. Sonic stared at the ceiling and tried getting up.

“What part of 'Eggman invading and trying to rule the world' was unclear? Sorry I cut your stalking time for a week,” he said sitting up. The head of the hammer was now touching the tip of hammer was pressing into his nose. He growled lightly in slight discomfort.

“THAT EXCUSE IS GETTING OLD!! AND I DON'T STALK YOU!!!!!” she screamed louder then before. Tails laughed lightly, as did Cream. Soon joining the group was a taller Rabbit wearing a light lavender dress with a red vest. She had a aged smile on her face and carried a tray of tea and small cookies.

“Well they are just as lively as ever,” she said softly. Tails and Cream looked up at the older rabbit.

“hello Ms. Vanilla, thank you for inviting us to your home,” Tails greeted with a smiled. The mother rabbit smiled and set the tea down as Amy continued to rage against Sonic. The small get together was going rather swimmingly, well except for Sonic, all parties were having a good time. Though as our heroes partied, Eggman was celebrating his own party. His invasion party.

“After several hours of analysis, I have finally gotten a complete fix on the frequency of their 'magic',”Eggman postulated to himself. “And with the analysis yielding more then enough data, I can use that 'magic' to my own advantage!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!” he screamed and howled in his own psychotic laughter. As he boasted and paraded his soon to be success, he failed to notice a shadow moving silently amongst the machines whirling and steam. Within these shadows lurked a skilled chameleon, equipped only with a few kunai knives and a communicator. He soon disengaged his natural cloaking abilities and scurried about the laboratory on the walls and ceiling. He watched from a distance as the good doctor began to make way for the exit. He continued praising himself all the way to the door. Once shut, the reptilian shinobi dropped to the console to examine the screens. After writing down some quick notes on a slip of paper from the ground, the chameleon heard the roar of the engines from the massive hanger. Snatching the paper and throwing one of his knives, he quickly ran for the door. Prying it open with the knife and making a blitz for the hanger. He arrived to see hundreds upon hundreds of EggRobos being loaded into the massive Egg Carrier. The good doctor laughed wildly in his anticipation and soon began the take off process. The chameleon quickly bounded to the walls and ran. He got just within throwing rang and took several more kunai from the pocket on his glove. Throwing them as hard as he possibly could, he tagged the carrier with just one of them. He dropped to the ground and grunted watching the massive ship take flight.

“This is it! My future lies there! Equestria I believe they call it? Well when I'm done with it it will be the new foot hold for the EGGMAN EMPIRE! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!” he howled and laughed. The chameleon watched as the carrier and ships started to take off.

“Espio to H.Q, reporting in from surveillance. We have a problem,” Espio said into his wrist. He glared up at the carrier. “A big problem”. As he made his report to the other members of his group, Sonic was still significantly getting chewed out by Amy at Cream's. Tails' was sipping tea and enjoying a chili dog.

“And another thing! Why are you just ignoring me!! I've been talking to you for hours! Get your head out of your hands pay attention to me!” she shouted.

“Oh my god, woman would you just shut-” Sonic started. His attempt to respond to her screaming was drowned out by the sound of high powered jet engines taking off. The group rushed out the door to see the Egg fleet. Sonic and crew just watched rather slack jawed as the fleet erupted in a blaze and shot into the night sky. As the fleet vanished from sight, Sonic put his hand on his hip and looked at Tails with a slight smirk. Tails looked up at him and cocked an eyebrow.

“What?” Tails asked slightly annoyed at the smirk.

“I think its about time you picked up that phone,” Sonic said. Tails looked at him like he was crazy. Opening his mouth to respond, Sonic responded. “Cause I called it!” he said laughing and holding his stomach. Tails put his hand on his forehead and started rubbing his temples. Within the next few hours, Eggman had arrived just outside of Equestria's orbit. He smiled and descended from his command center and into his sub-lab. He smiled and adjusted his work goggles. He smiled looking over the graphs and readouts from his main lab back home and began construction on something completely sinister. As if he knew he was being watched, he smiled over his shoulder and spoke softly.

“I'm coming for your now, your royal highness,” he said in a rather cryptic voice. On cue, the solar monarch awake from her slumber in a start. A cold sweat running down her face and muzzle. She panted heavily and pressed her hoof against her forehead. She tried to regain some sense of composure, but felt herself shiver with a sense of fear. She looked through her window into the star covered night.

“What is happening? Or rather...what is coming?” she asked softly to herself

so this is my legit first ever fanfic. so i combined my two current loves; Sonic the Hedgehog and MLP. trust me the majority of the story takes place in Equestria, so just hold out till i can write it out please and thank you. and if i mess up do tell me in the comments below

Chapter 2 Welcome to the land of friendship and invasions

Even with a borderline sleepless night for her highness, the gracious princess preformed her duty to raise the sun. she looked physically exhausted. After raising the sun to greet the day. She sighed tired and yawned. The white alucorn passed her sister in the hallway who immediately stopped, whipping her head around to look over her tired sister.

“Sister, what ales you so early in the morning?” Luna asked softly. Celestia looked at her sister through tired out eyes. She smiled softly and simply sighed.

“It is something we should not discuss lightly. Please, remain awake till tea time. I will explain then,” she said softly. She turned to a guard soon after addressing her sister's concerns.

“Dear sir, please send word to Princess Cadence. I would like her to come here as well,” she informed him. He nodded and bowed heading off to send the letter. Celestia proceeded to trot to her thrown and begin her daily duties. She looked out the window at the morning glow of the sun. “Its nothing to worry about...right?” she thought to herself. Elsewhere in Equestria, was a quiet town outside the lofty boundaries of Canterlot, where Celestia and her sister resigned. In the town known souly as Ponyville, the morning meant work for the ever diligent apple family. With a yawn and a stretch, a light orange earth mare walked out of the main house of the apple farm. She adjusted her hat over her the back of her long straw blonde mane and smiled to the sky.

“Goin' ta be ah good day for apple buckin,” she said to no one. She looked behind her as a large red stallion walked into her view. He brushed his gold colored mane from his eyes and yawned loudly.

“Eeyup,” he said agreeing with her statement. She smiled up with a pair of brilliant green eyes.

“Welp, time is a waistin' Big Macintosh. Let's get to it,” she said happily. Big Mac nodded and the two headed to the field to start their regular choirs. On the very outskirts of Ponyville in the sky near by, was a cloud formed into a house. The door burst open and a tortoise with a helicopter propeller on its shell floated out. Immediately after a cyan streak shot past him with a rainbow trail lingering in its wake. The joyful cries of a mare having fun rang through the sky as she flew around her home to get her morning workout. She finally slowed down and floated next to the tortoise.

“Ahhhhh, morning Tank. Hope you slept well,” she said nuzzling the tortoise's nose. She smiled and yawned stretching. Her dark rose colored eyes scanned the horizon several times before she landed on her cloud porch. Tank drifted over to her and offered her another nuzzle. She smiled excepting it and patted his shell. “Well, clouds ain't gonna bust themselves. Time to get to work! See ya when its time to meet up with the others Tank!” she shouted speeding off. The adrenaline charged mare loved the feeling of flight. The wind pressing tightly against her mane and face, the feeling of her tail thrashing rapidly behind her, and most importantly, the view from above. She drifted upward and then free fall for a few minutes before spreading her wings again and flying into Ponyville. Handling her job as the weather manager. The streets were starting to fill as more and more ponies exited their homes and began their morning rites. Over at Sugarcube Corner, a bubble gum pink mare was bouncing about preparing the right amount of baked goods for the morning crowd. She smiled singing a little tone to herself. Her cerulean blue eyes constantly scanned the immediate area for customers as her employers took care of their two foals. She smiled to herself and heard the door bell chime as it opened.

“Welcome!!” she called from behind the counter with a friendly grin. Her grin stretched further when she recognized the cyan blue pony walk in. with a trail of smoked left in her wake, the pink pony crashed into Rainbow and tackled her to the ground with a bone crushing hug. “MORNING DASHIE!!!!” she squealed in delight.

“Pinkie! Will you get the hoof off of me!!!” she shrieked shoving the pink one off of her. Pinkie smiled bouncing around Rainbow happily. In her own weird way celebrating that her friend had come in and was the first customer no less. Rainbow saw it as Pinkie being her weird spastic self as per the norm. she put her hoof to her forehead and sighed heavily. Slowly spreading and contracting her wings after that hug. “Look Pinkie Pie, I just stopped in to get a muffin. Do you have any fresh ones?” she asked trying to regain some feeling in her wings. Pinkie literally stopped mid bounce and levitated for a good few seconds until she heard the timer on the oven go off. She sped off and returned with a fresh muffin straight from the oven.

“Yes I do, nice and hot!” she said with giddy excitement. Dash smiled and sighed with a bit of relief. She placed a couple of bits on the counter and headed out to check the weather schedule. As she trotted, she walked by the city library. She glanced over at it and wondered if its residence had woken up yet. She shrugged and continued about eating her muffin in peace. Within the library the sound of falling books broke the silence of the morning. Under a massive pile of books was a small amethyst dragon with light emerald spines running down his back. He sat up rubbing his head and groaned loudly.

“i swear to Celestia that Twilight doesn't like to clean up her books after she finishes reading them. That horn of her's is only good for turning pages,” he groaned and grumbled shuffling through the sea of books. He made his way to the kitchen and started to prepare dinner for his caretaker. The sound of hoof steps came from the stairs. In the dragon's peripheral vision he saw a violet pony walk into the kitchen. She smiled softly, greeting Celestia's golden sun.

“Good morning Spike,” she said walking up to the baby dragon. He looked at her to see her deep violet eyes looking into his own emerald eyes. He just looked at her through slightly annoyed eyes and crossed his arms.

“You didn't pick up your books...again,” he said with a small huff of smoke through his nose. Twilight looked back at the main room of the library, particularly at the massive pile of knocked over books. She smiled lightly and turned her head back to the dragon who was tapping his foot slightly impatiently.

“Aha ha ha ha...sorry,” she said meekly as the patches of fur on her cheeks turned a light shade of red. Spike felt a small vein on his forehead throb lightly. But he decided to just go back to making breakfast. The unicorn's horn lite up with a transparent violet light. The books in the room were soon enveloped in that same light. Moving from off the ground and back to the shelves with Twilight's simple levitation spell. She trotted into the room and checked to make sure they were all in order. As she scanned the shelves, spike entered the room with a pair of daisy sandwiches with hay fries. Spike set the plates down and grabbed his trusty broom and began to sweep. From the open window a owl flew in, its outer wings and head coated in mahogany brown feathers while its belly and inner wings had light tan feathers. Twilight smiled softly at the owl.

“Good morning Owlicious,” she said adjusting a book as she walked past him.

“woo,” the owl responded. Twilight simply rolled her eyes with a grin. She sat at her desk and began to right a research paper for the princess to whom she was a student of. As she began writing, another bird flew in. this time it was a young phoenix which had been out for a morning fly. It landed on the end of spike's broom and squawked happily on its return.

“Oh, hey there Pee-wee, enjoy your morning flight?” Spiked asked. Pee-wee squawked again when spike noticed something in its talon. He snagged what appeared to be a piece of paper and unraveled it. Giving it a quick glance over he smiled and turned to the lavender mare. “Hey Twilight! Pinkie Pie is throwing a party this afternoon for the usual Pony-Pet play date!” he said excitedly. Twilight simply nodded in response as she continued writing. Spike knew when she was in the zone, only a few things would snap her out of it; receiving a latter from the princess, or something messing up the symmetry of the room. Not really wanting to through of her zone, Spike just took the letter and continued about his day.

The sweet normalcy of Ponyville and Equestria in general was in full swing. Prior to this day several years ago, the most faithful student of the sun princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle, was told to oversee the preparations of the 1000 celebration of the Summer Sun Festival in Ponyville. During that night, the evil mare in the moon, Nightmare Moon escaped her confinement and sought to plunge the world into eternal night. Armed simply with her knowledge of pony folklore, Twilight sought out the elements of harmony. Though she was not alone in her endeavor. With the help of her friends Rarity, Pinkie, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash, they defeated the would be conqueror and restored her to her former self in princess Luna. A year later, the embodiment of chaos on their world, Discord, was released from his eternal prison and threatened to shape the world in his own image. All be it a amusing one to some. But like Nightmare Moon before him, he was defeated by the power of the Elements of Harmony that Twilight and her friends wield. They proved their mantle time and time again as worthy wielders of the elements. And have saved two kingdoms from wicked forces, from the likes of the returning King Sombra, to the changeling queen Chrysalis. Peace was once again attained and reigned supreme. Then why did Celestia sense such a foreboding and looming danger approaching her fair land? She couldn't shake the feeling of coming calamity. Her tired eyes looked over party invitations, renovation and construction notifications, and political meetings from ambassadors from Saddle-Arabia and Baltimare. She had been working since raising the sun into the sky. It had been quite some time sense then. Her concentration was soon broken by the sound of the door to her chamber opening. She looked up to see a soft pink alucorn and a midnight blue alucorn stroll.

“Dear sister, it is time for afternoon tea,” Luna said greeting her older sister.

“Indeed, you have been in here too long Princess Celestia,” the pink alucorn insisted,

“Luna. Cadence. You both have very good timing,” Celestia said softly. She stood from her throne and trotted up to the other two. Accompanied by several royal guards, the three headed to Donut Joe's donut shop. As the three walked, the afternoon sun hung high in the sky. Celestia gazed through the sky and wondered if she should send a letter to twilight about her vision to prepare her and her friends just in case. She decided to shrug the feeling for the moment and try to relax. Back in Ponyville, Spike was getting irritated again.

“Twilight! Your gonna make us late!” he shouted to the unassuming unicorn. She continued writing even though by all rights she should have been done already. Spike looked at the once again book covered floor and groaned loudly. Owlicious and Pee-Wee looked at each other then back at their respective caretakers. “The party starts in 5 minutes! We got to go!” he shouted. His shouts however fell again on willingly deaf ears. He finally got irritated enough to where he walked right up to the mare in question. He looked at her and then at her paper. He placed one claw on her desk and proceeded to push a vile of ink out of place. With her eyes registering the disharmony of her desk, Twilight snapped out of her trance and looked at Spike, who was once again tapping his foot impatiently.

“Spike what have I told you about moving things on my desk? I need to finish this report for the princess before Pinkie's party,” she said sounding more irritated then Spike. He simply pointed at the clock. Twilight's gaze shifted to the clock. It read 3. her eyes widened and she began to panic. “Oh nononononononononononono!!! We're gonna be late! Why didn't you tell me?!” she shouted in her panic. Spike opened his mouth to respond but was levitated onto her back before the words could come out. She rushed through the door quickly and broke into a full sprint for the park where they had their meet up. In mid gallop she screeched to a halt nearly throwing Spike off.

“Jeez, what was that for!?” the dragon asked now more angry then irritated.

“I forgot to put the vile back in place!!” she shouted turning back towards the library. As Spike groaned rather loudly at Twilight's obsessiveness, the other ponies were already gathered and eagerly waiting for their arrival.

“Now Angel, I want you to play nicely with the others today, and I promise to fluff your tail as soon as we get home,” a butter yellow Pegasus said rather softly to the white rabbit on her back. The rabbit jumped off and headed straight for a already slightly irritated cat. The rabbit just smirked and thumped its back paw against the cat's head, instantly igniting a conflict. The two stared each other down with nether side about to back down. It wasn't till the intervention of the cat's owner that the conflict came to an abrupt resolution as the feline was surrounded by a powder blue aura. A white unicorn with a marshmallow white coat and excellently styled mane peered down at the cat.

“No Opal, that is no way to act around our friends,” she scolded. The cat in question hissed and slashed her claws at the white mare, several hairs from her mane falling to the ground. She looked at her mane then at the cat, simply dispelling the levitation spell and letting the cat go. From the corner of the park came in a brown and white dog followed by her farmer owner.

“Boy howdy, them apples are comin' along nicely this year,” the work pony said happily. She looked over at the white unicorn and a sly smile stretched across her face. “Still havin' problems with Opal Rarity?” she asked. The unicorn gasped dramaticly and flipped her hair as if personally insulted.

“Why Apple Jack, to even suggest that I am having a problem with my dearest Opal is simply ludicrous,” she retorted as Opal continued hissing uncontrollably at Angel. Apple Jack smiled and shook her head from side to side.

“If y'all say so Rares,” she said smiling. Aj looked up at the sky and saw a rainbow patterned streak zip through the sky. Landing soon on the ground was a familiar tortoise. Aj smiled and petted its head. “Howdy Tank, Ah take it dash is in the area?” she asked the tortoise. Tank blinked his eyes incredibly slowly and then nodded just as slow. The brown and white dog strolled up and hopped around Aj and Tank.

“alright Winona, ah hear yeah,” Aj said happily running after her dog. The tortoise walked slowly making it to the usual tree where Rainbow was known for taking her naps. He withdrew into his shell simply relaxing until she came. After what seemed like just a few seconds, the familiar sound of a thud struck the tree rattling it down to its base. Tank stuck his head out in time to see a familiar set of cyan hooves land on his back and the nuzzle of his owner.

“hey tank, sorry I'm a little late,” she said with a big grin. The tortoise simply smiled slowly and blinked. Dash smiled and bounded off of him. She looked up to see a bouncing pink mare into view. “Hey Pink!! Bout time you got here!” she shouted to the pony. Pinkie smiled and sped up and smashed into rainbow

“HEY DASHIE!!!!” she shouted hugging rainbow. Rainbow tried to escape and breath, but found the colossal grip was crushing her.

“Now all we need is Twilight and Spike and the gang will be all here,” Aj shouted running into view with Winona.

“Oh, I think she may be working on a paper for the princess. I think,” Fluttershy said softly stepping up as well.

“Ugh! That means she will take forever!” rainbow shouted groaning loudly.

“Honestly, being late is much more fashionable Dash. Besides you know how she is when she gets wrapped up in her work,” Rarity called from her couch. As if on cue, twilight came running in with malicious, spike, and pee-wee.

“YAY!!!! Twilight's here!!!” Pinkie shouted jumping up and down. Twilight panted loudly.

“sorry, I got distracted,” twilight panted out. She looked up with a small embarrassed smile and straightened up. Spike hopped off of her back and stretched out. He smiled immediately seeing rarity. He sighed happily taking in her radiance as she layed across her couch. To him her pure white fur gleamed in the light and her royal blue eyes glowed like gorgeous sapphires. He swooned rather noticeably until pee-wee landed on his head snapping him out of his trance. He narrowed his eyes to a look of slight annoyance and sighed. The rest of the group laughed lightly looking at him. He looked at the group and was about to speak. He opened his mouth to offer some level of scolding to pee-wee when his eyes bugged out. He retched back and proceeded to bletch out a burst of magical green fire. The flames quickly spiraled into a brown parchment adorned by the princess' seal. Twilight looked at the parchment curiously and levitated it. “I wonder what the princess needs,” she wondered out loud. She opened the letter and began reading it.

30 Minutes Earlier

The princess trio were sitting down at the donut shop discussing various matters of business. Luna had reported that the recreation of the lunar palace was underway, but was proving difficult due to not many ponies being able to survive long periods on the moon's surface even with her magic giving them a slight boost. More concerned for the well being of their subjects, Celestia and Luna decided to scrap the project and Luna would permanently take residence in the castle as she had been. As far as Cadence goes, the Crystal Empire had begun to bloom and trade began to flow again from the various neighboring countries.

“That is excellent news Cadence. Its good to hear of such prosperity,” Celestia commented with a smile. She sighed rather contently, but Luna sensed something in her sister. A creeping feeling of fear that laced her sigh.

“Dear sister, what ales you so? You have been most disoriented since this morning. Has something happened to put your mind in such a state?” Luna asked asked. Cadence quickly turned her head to the solar monarch as well. Curiosity adorning her face as she searched Celestia's face for signs of worry. Finally Celestia lowered her head and furred her brow.

“Last night, I sensed something high above Equestria. It was an evil presence that seemed to pierce the night like a blazing dagger of hate and malice. I fear for my little ponies and everyone else in this world. For I believe it is an evil far worse then discord,” she said. Her hooves were trembling lightly and her fear was becoming more physically visible. Luna placed a caring hoof on her sisters shoulder.

“Fear not dear sister. There is no force on or far from Equestria that can not be defeated by we and the elements of harmony. Surly the captain of the royal guard would put up a defensive barrier just to ease you mind,” Luna said attempting to comfort her sister.

“That's right, Shining Armor has the highest level protection spell in all the land. Surely he can put it up and keep out any intruders,” cadence said with a smile of pride. As the three alucorns continued their discussion, from high above the city pegasai could hear a rather high pitched whistling noise. As if something was falling from the sky. The wonderbolts, who had been doing some training drills noticed several metallic like objects in the sky. Spitfire, their leader, took the lead in investigating. When the objects got closer she tried to fly along side it to get a good look at the object. It was larger then any pony and was cylinder shaped. Along its side was a marking of what looked like a face with a long mustache. As she tried to get closer however the wind pressure from it flung the flier away violently. She regrouped quickly and sped past it. The other wonderbolts quick on her hooves as they flew into Canterlot. Spitfire quickly surveyed the area hopping to find a guard or someone. She spotted a blue maned unicorn walking with a group of guards. He bore the captain's jacket and lead the group.

“Captain Armor!!” she screamed out. Shining Armor turned his head to see Spitfire swoop in and land in front of him. “Something is coming towards Canterlot. Several large objects!” she shouted. Without a word shining armor concentrated his magic into his trademarked protection spell. Encompassing the entire city in a light crimson bubble to protect it. As if sensing the shield's deployment, the foreign objects smashed into for points surrounding the city. The subsequent rumble of impact shook the city to its foundations and alerted everypony who could feel it. Celestia and the others looked around and saw 4 plumes of dust and debris fly from the for corners of Canterlot. She looked at her sister and cadence. With only a head nod between the three of them, Luna and Cadence took to the sky to investigate. Celestia instead summoned a scroll to her side with quill and ink

“You take the north face, I shall head to the south!” Luna shouted to Cadence. She nodded and the two split off. At the southern metal pillar, several guards had been investigating. One of the unicorn guards shot a burst of magic at the object. The magic shot bounced off and went back at him. He jumped back and looked at the object again. This time it started to shake violently and whirling noises could be heard from it as it seemed to kick on. The guards backed up slowly as it started to radiate a weird green light.

“Stand Back!” Luna shouted to the guards below. She glared and her horn lite up like a beacon in the dead of night. She shot a light violet blast of magic more powerful at the pillar. The light of the pillar absorbed the blast, catching Luna off guard. What happened next surprised her more. The pillar shot back at her. Nearly knocking her out of the sky. She recoiled and glared more viciously. Her horn lit up again, but the sparks of green light shot from her fur and quickly surrounded her. The light of her horn started to dim and then faded out quickly. She looked up at her horn and tried again and again but to no use. “My magic...” whispered in a cold realization. She turned and shot back to the donut shop as quick as her wings could carry. As she flew, all of the pillars shot into the sky and encased the whole of Canterlot in another bubble. Shining Armor looked up to see his own bubble was quickly faded forcefully and what seemed like small electrical snow drops started to pepper the city. As it landed on all the ponies, magic started to fizzle out from every unicorn. When Luna made it to her sister, Celestia had just sent the letter with her unknowing last bit of magic.

“Luna, what has happened?” she asked looking at her exhausted .

“Tia! Those structures are...draining the magic from us all!” she shouted. Celestia opened her eyes wide and she looked at the scroll. It had fully vanished just as the green snow hit her. The two looked around at the panicking ponies screaming in the streets.

“Luna, we must get to the elements!” she shouted. The two took flight quickly. They flew to the sound of cries and screams of panic.

“Tia!! Above us!” Luna screamed out. She looked up in disbelieve as a massive metallic object descended from the sky. Its dark gray and dark orange red color scheme became visible. Several more objects descended in a similar fashion. Their decent became faster and hovered just close to the city. Some opened up and several thousand objects shot out and descended on the city like a swarm of changelings. “What are those things!?” Luna asked slightly panicked.

“It matters not sister! We must hurry!” she shouted back. They flew faster until they reached the palace. Upon arrival more sentries fell to the ground. From the surrounding dust cloud the glow of piercing red eyes cut through the brown cloud of smoke. The sisters attempted to fly over as shots of what appeared to be energy shot through the sky. Attempting to shoot the duo down. With only a very slim margin for error the two crashed through one of the stain glassed windows and into the thrown room.

“I pray Cadence is well,” Luna said softly as they trotted to the back of the thrown room. Celestia tried to use what magic she could, thrusting her horn into a key hole and focusing. With her last bit of magic she unlocked the door to the elements of harmony were sealed. She smiled softly for a second until she heard a high pitch hum. Luna and herself whipped around only to be met by very angry electrical shocks that paralyzed every never ending in their bodies. Their screams of pain and agony drowned out the soft sounds of hardened boots against the marble floor. With relative ease, the steps passed by the screaming sisters and into the hidden chamber. His portly frame illuminated from the glow of the elements that now rested mere inches from his fingertips.

“All too easy,” he said with a mischievous grin. The shocking subsided but the paralysis remained. Celestia groaned loudly and tried to move. Her muscles still unable to heed her mind's commands to move.

“Who...are....yo...u?” she said softly and weakly. Her eyes were starting to glaze over slowly. Her vision blurred and showed no signs of getting better. The portly figure before her simply turned to face her. “What are you!?” she blurted out. She smiled wickedly.

“I, my dear princess, am a human. My name is Dr Ivo Robotnik. But you my dear will have the pleasure of calling me, your new lord and master,” he said snidely. He looked out the window and peered at a statue of what seemed to be a pieced together monstrosity of various animals ending with the head of a dragon. “Ah, another piece to the puzzle,” he said gleaming at the statue

Chapter 3 True blue meet up

The letter was blowing in the air from the lack of its lavender aura that once surrounded it. The sound of thunderous hooves stampeding towards the train station. Each set of hooves separated and rejoined rather quickly. The pets were left at their respective homes. As Applejack dropped Winona off at the barn, she quickly gave her family a quick summery as to what was happen and that she would not be back too soon. The apple family bid her good luck as she ran to the train station. The three left behind simply watched as she ran, though something caught the red stallion's eye. He turned his deep green eyes to one of the fields to see a massive bright light shine like a a lighthouse. Back at the train station the 6 mares and dragon boarded the closest train to Canterlot. Worry was plastered all over the faces of the 7. More so on the face of Twilight. Aj and Fluttershy were right next to her trying their best to comfort her.

“Its alright sugarcube, Ah'm sure the princess is fine. We just gotta get there quick enough to make sure everythin' is as right as rain,” Aj said running her hoof down the back of the panicking librarian. Fluttershy had a wing around twilight and was trying her best to reduce as much stress as possible.

“Applejack is right. We can check on everyone when we get there,” she said softly. This really didn't help Twilight's mood. Her body was continuously shacking and it too something more drastic to snap her out of this state. The feeling of a sharp claw ran down her back fully jolted her system and she jumped nearly 5 feet off the ground.. her eyes shot back at her dragon assistant who had a look of concern and knowing.

“Twi, I'm not gonna lie. It looks and sounds bad from what you read. But we don't have the luxury of worrying right now. So lets just see what we can do when we get there,” he said placing a claw on her shoulder. She let out a long sigh and looked around at her friends.

“Your right spike. We don't know whats going on yet. But we need to hurry. The train wont get us there for at least another hour. Rainbow, can you scout ahead?” Twilight asked the speedster. With that one simple request a cyan blur shot past them and out the back of the train car. Dash shot through the sky upwards and then proceeded to make her name sake proud. Her wings beat hard and her main and tail flailed wildly from the wind pressure. With each beat of her wings she gained more and more speed, hurtling towards her destination. Within a few moments the capital was in view. Her eyes widened and gazed upon the thick green aura that now encompassed Canterlot. Wasting no time, Dash speed off and headed into the mist. She expected to meet some level of resistance upon contact, but to her confusion there was none. Nothing denied her entry to the city except the color of the aura. Slightly baffled but not rattled she descended in. watching as ponies panicked and ran in the streets. Some being driven out of homes in terror as laser fire shot out behind them. The most horrific thing in her eyes however was the capturing and caging of ponies. Sentries cramming unicorns and pegasai being crammed into containment cells and shipped to parts unknown. Angered at this she dove in and smashed hoof first into one of the robotic sentries and knocked it to the ground. She looked down the sound of hoof meeting metal and gazed into the lifeless L.E.D eyes of a robot. Jumping back she wasted no real time in discerning the thing was not living and rammed it at full force. Punching a hole through its chest and causing it to explode. She turned her attention to the other robot and repeated the process of taking it down and then punching a hole through it. With that one down she kicked the gate open of one of the cages and screamed for the ponies to run. She took a quick look around and shot into the air and headed to the train station.

“This is gonna be one hay of a day,” she muttered to herself getting to the station as the train arrived. Wasting little time she told everypony about the robots and what they were doing to the ponies. With outrage and disgust, the mares and drake stormed the city, knowing very little of the unicorn pair's magic being immediately cut off upon entry to the city. The group ran through the city, through the hoards of screaming mares, colts, and fillies. One destination was all they cared for, the castle. It soon came into view, hundreds of robotic solders cluttering the courtyard. Within the center was a small group of guards, earth stallion's and pegasai with a lone unicorn remaining.

“Shining Armor!!” Twilight screamed seeing her bruised up older brother. He couldn't hope to hear her over the sounds of gears and metal clashing against hooves. He bucked several dead center and watched them fall as his fellow guards did the same. The pegasai swooping in and out to bash in as many as they could. “We gotta help them!” Twilight shouted. She lit up her horn, but it immediately fizzled out. She looked at her horn and tried again to the same effect. “Why isn't it working!?” she shouted now frantic. Rarity tried to use magic but to a similar effect.

“Don' matter none! We got varmints to wrangle!” Aj shouted running in. she was followed after quickly by rainbow and then pinkie. Fluttershy, Rarity, Twilight and Spike were soon on their hooves to do what they could. Spike, who was riding on Twilight's back, inhaled deeply and jumped. Once air born he shot off a large burst of emerald fire as big as he could. Drawing a defiant line in the ground. Allowing the mares to get into the fray easier. Dash did as the other pegasai had done and swooped in and out delivering divine justice. Twilight and Rarity sprinted to the aid of Shining Armor who at this point was panting heavily and wobbling.

“Shiny, we're here to help!” Twilight shouted drawing close. She and Rarity approached him from the both sides to steady the tittering stallion. He smiled softly and tried to regain some sibilance of balance.

“Thanks Twily, we could use the help. We have been trying to get back to castle but its been difficult to say the least,” he said panting lightly. “and with no magic, the unicorn guards have been captured.”

“We noticed. Rarity and I can't use magic ether. Learned that the hard way,” Twilight said looking at the army before her and her friends. “Doesn't matter. We will find a way to get through to the castle,” she said trying to reassure her brother. He smiled lightly but then returned to the task at hand.

“Let's take this these guys!” he shouted. Shining and Twilight charged in. Twilight smirked and hopped onto her brother's and then jumped off in a mannor simular to how spike had previously. She descended hard on the head of one of the robots and proceeded to Pinkie-style bounce from robot to robot. She smiled seeing her stomping doing real damage. Running interference for the others, dash and AJ were weaving in and out of the clustered mess of drones. Both distracting and slightly disorienting the creatures. This allowed the guards to break a path through to the gates. Spike was defending Rarity and Fluttershy. Using his emerald fire breath to keep the bots at bay.

“Captain Armor! News from the north of Canterlot!” A Pegasus guard shouted swooping in. “Princess Cadence has been captured!!” he shouted. Shining Armor's eyes widened. He looked at twilight for a little conformation.

“We got this! Go!” Twilight shouted. Armor nodded and ran as fast as his hooves could carry.

“The path is clear! Barrer's of the elements! GO!” a earth pony guard shouted. The girls and spike dashed through the cleared out path and into the castle. Once inside, the guards closed the door behind them and began to engage once more. The inside of the castle was eerily silent. No signs of life. No guards, no maids, nothing. Just the all encompassing silence that was only broken by the sound of hooves galloping on marble floors. Lead by Twilight, the seven ran and ran till they reached the thrown room. The doors were ripped from their hinges and discarded on the ground like crumpled scrolls. Upon entering, a gripping sight shocked the loyal student to her core. Near the large thrown chair, were the royal sisters, chained down and unconscious.

“PRINCESS!!” Twilight screamed running. The 7 split into 2 groups. Twilight, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash ran to Celestia, while Spike, Rarity, Apple Jack, and Pinkie approached Luna. “Princess! Princess please...”she cried softly kneeling down to nuzzle her mentor. The unconscious monarch groaned lightly. The feeling was slowly attempting to return to her muscles from the brutal shock she received.

“tw...i...li....ght....r...un,” her speech was fragmented and broken. But her warning was clear as day. Twilight looked at her teacher with a pained expression.

“Don't worry princess, we will get you out of her,” she said softly. She looked around for something, anything that could cut her binds. But as she scanned the room, she saw the door to the hidden chamber open. She stood up and slowly began to approach it. Nudging it open with a hoof, she peered in. the chamber was dark, completely void of any natural light. The candles lit along the sides of the room glowed softly as she entered. The candles dying her lavender coat a dull orange as she approached the pedestal where the elements of harmony rest. She lifted the lid which were suppose to hold the elements, but to her grudging confirmation, they were not there. She ran out and knelt to her teacher once more. “What happened Princess, where are the elements of harmony?” she asked. From behind her came the sound of laughter. Light, but saturated with evil and cockiness.

“I believe I can best answer that,” the laugh shifted to a cryptic voice. The heads of 6 ponies and the lone drake snapped to see where the voice came from. In strolled the portly human. His eyes hidden behind his jet black sunglasses. He straightened his mustache and smiled tossing the element of loyalty up and down as if it were a toy. “Magnificent isn't it? A remarkable specimen holding such unique power,” he said catching it once more and stuffing it into his coat. The Cyan Pegasus snarled seeing her beloved amulet toyed with.

“Give that back you jerk!” she shouted. Her wings flared and she left nothing but a rainbow trail in her wake. She glared beating her wings as fast and hard as she could as she. She was just about too him when he effortlessly side stepped her attack. She crashed into a wall and shook it off rather quickly.

“Too much like someone else I know. No real matter though. Now, on to the question at hand. I have the elements. And they are in my love and care for the foreseeable future my dear,” he said bowing slightly to Twilight. “Allow me the esteemed pleasure of introducing myself. As I told your princesses earlier, I am Dr Ivo Robotnik. The pleasure is all mine,” he said flashing a toothy grin. Fluttershy simply cringed and hid behind Applejack in terror.

“And what in tarnation are ya planin' with them elements!?” Aj shouted at him. She placed her hat on Fluttershy's head. Signaling she was about to get very very serious. The bald doctor smiled again and stood erect once more.

“You see my dear, I, if you couldn't already tell, am not from around here. I hail from a world that has eluded my control time and time again. Mainly thanks to a certain blue rodent...” he grunted through gritted teeth. He snarled but was quick to correct his posture. “But I digress. In my continued efforts for a stable energy supply, I have stumbled upon a world with quite the abundance of energy. Magical energy,” he said looking at the princesses and twilight. “Yes, unicorn and alucorn magic. So with this new to me information, I decided to simply set up shop here.” he strolled as he explained his plans. A sick satisfied grin plastered on his face. “I hope you will accommodate me,” he said turning to look at the student.

“YOU'RE A MONSTER!!!” Rarity screamed. “A horrid, ugly, fasionless monster!” she glared at Robotnik. Pinkie was also glaring at the doctor.

“So what happens to all the ponies you captured?” she asked aloud.

“I'm glad you asked my dear. You see I always have had a soft spot for living creatures. They make excellent labor,” he said with a grin that absolutely seeped with evil intent. Then he directed at the two semi conscious princesses. “and oh the things I will do to those two. And that interesting statue that sat outside.” he smirked stroking his mustache.

“How did you cancel out our magic!?” Twilight shouted. The doctor turned and looked at her.

“You mean you didn't see the light green aura surrounding this fair city? Well I could tell you more, but whats the fun in that. And now if you will excuse me, I have things to do,” he said snapping his fingers. In came a rush of robotic minions to his side. He smiled. “Take the princesses, kill the rest,” he said with a rather large smile. The robots swarmed the 8 ponies and dragon. With the princesses down, the mane 6 started to fight the oncoming bots. The bulk were destroyed in seconds by a rainbow streak slicing through them at break neck speeds.

“If you think your getting out of here in one piece your wrong!” dash shouted cutting through the legion. Robotnik glared at her and raised his hand. Several raised their blasters and began to shoot at her. Skillfully dodging the fire, Dash made a made break for the Robotnik once more. But a lucky shot managed to clip her wing. The sting of the bolt hit her hard and forced her wing to seize up on her. Sending her to the ground hard.

“Rainbow!!!” Fluttershy shouted. The yellow Pegasus flew from her hiding place and landed near her friend. There she looked up at the doctor who was simply beside himself with joy. “How could you do such cruel things to creatures!?” she screamed out as tears flowed down her face.

“How? Quite simple my dear,” he said taking a blaster from a bot. He pointed it in Shy's face with his finger twitching on the trigger ever so. “Just. Like. This,” he whispered so only she and dash could hear. Time seemed to slow to a crawl. Dash looked around to see her friends frantic running to her and Shy's side. Her gaze looked up to Fluttershy to see her guarding the wounded dash with her own body. With one sweeping motion she pushed shy out of the way. She couldn't let her long time friend sacrifice her life for her own. Dash smiled and closed her eyes. The next sound she expected to here would be the sound of the gun about end her life. But instead it was the sound of breaking glass. Her eyes snapped open and looked for the source of the sound. As did everyone else in the room. Through the large stain glass window of discord shot through a blue blur. He landed and streaked in front of Robotnik and through several bots. It skidded to a stop. On its shoulders were Fluttershy and Dash. Looking puzzled, the ponies just gawked at the sight that now held their friends. Dash looked at this creature. His blue fur and tan underbelly were the first thing she noticed. She shifted her gaze to the tan muzzle and green eyes that were filled with confidence. And a grin that just screamed the phrase “I got this”. His quills had flopped back into place and he set the two mares down. Once both were on the ground safely, he directed his gaze at the now fuming doctor.

“Who are-” dash began but was cut of by the sound of screaming.

“KILL THAT BLASTED HEDGEHOG!!!!” Robotnik screamed at the top of his lungs. The sentries turned their blasters and began to fire. The blue one snatched the two mares back up into his arms and lept into the air. He flipped over and landed next to Twilight. Setting them down once more he took a runners stance and pushed off. A burst of wind left in his wake as he sprinted. He zig zagged through the mass of bots and finally skidded to a halt once more. A flurry of explosions from destroyed robots was all that remained from this show of speed. “SONIC!!!!! YOU IRRITATING RODENT!!!”

“Awe and here I thought you forgot all about lil ol' me Egghead. Whats the matter, got tired of me beating your yoke but all over Mobius so you came to disturb our neighbors?” Sonic quipped. A flurry of giggles came from behind him.

“Pinkie!” Twilight scolded.

“I can't help it. He looks like an egg, and the puns are so egg-celent!” Pinkie shouted bursting in laughter. Sonic laughed along with her.

“Nice one! Don't forget that squirrel he keeps under his nose. I mean come on McNosehair, trim that bad boy down before we have to feed it,” Sonic laughed still poking fun at the now raging doctor.

“This isn't possible! How did you follow me here rodent!?” The doctor screamed now foaming at the mouth. “This plan was to be fool proof!!!”

“Well that's odd since your the one who thought it up,” Sonic said waving the doctor off. “and last I checked, you were the biggest fool of em all.”

“THATS IT!!! GET HIM!!!!!” Robotnik screamed. More and more robots flooded the room.

“Oh now don't be such a kill joy. Besides, you didn't think I came alone did you?” Sonic asked crossing his arms. As robots entered the room, they were instantly impaled by spears of light orange energy. The doctors eyes widened at the sight and slowly turned his head to confirm his thoughts. Now standing in the window seal of the broken window was another hedgehog. His black frame outlined by the malevolent green glow of the aura outside. His eyes a deep crimson as he stared down at the good doctor. He jumped in to the room and landed near the still laughing Pinkie Pie. Her laughter immediately halted by the sight of this new comer. His fur was as black as night, with red streaks flowing up the sides of his legs and arms. He had a white tuff of hair on his chest which stood out. His tan muzzle gave way to his jet black erect quills on the back of his head. Bearing white gloves with golden rings around his wrists, and black and white shoes with another matching pair of gold rings adorning his ankles.

“Good to see you again Doctor,” his smooth but husky voice called out.

“Shadow...” Robotnik called out as if on a whisper. “So you brought him here with Chaos Control”

“Perceptive as always. But enough chat, we are here to bring you back,” he said fixing his eyes to a glare.

“Well sadly for you, I have no intention on leaving,” Robotnik said in a hushed tone. He pulled his collar and spoke loudly. “Fire the main cannon! Level this castle!” he shouted.

“No you cant!” Twilight screamed.

“But I will,” Robotnik said. He snapped his fingers and from the side of the building a mechanical hand smashed the ceiling and reached in. scooping up the princesses. Shadow turned his attention to the captured monarchs and his eyes widened seeing the midnight blue alucorn. His look of surprise switched back to a glare. He smashed his hands together. Separating them from the thunderous clap a long glowing spear appeared in his hands.

“Chaos Spear!” he shouted throwing it at the hand. It took the hit but continued out. “Dammit!” he shouted angry.

“We pull out now! Fair well kiddies!!!” Robotnik shouted running from the building. From above a massive beam of light shot through the ceiling. Sonic and Shadow acted quickly to push the mares and drake from the blast range. Though the crumbling roof was something they couldn't handle. Rarity lowered her head as debris was about to crush her. Spike rushed to her aid and used his body as a shield. He braced for impact, but it never came. He opened his eyes and saw a light green aura around the large piece of ceiling holding it. The rest of the ceiling was being constrained in the same fashion.

“You guys alright!?” a new voice shouted. Rarity and the others directed their eyes to the hole in the ceiling and saw another new hedgehog. His light gray fur was enveloped in the same green glow. His hands extended and directing the debris. His yellow eyes gazing down at everything under him. He flew in and pushed the debris as much as possible.

“Silver, great timing for once!” Sonic shouted jokingly. “Shadow, lets go now!” he shouted to the crimson hedgehog. Shadow nodded and used a small bit of his energy to summon a deep green emerald from seemingly no where. Silver levitated those who couldn't to Shadow. The black and red hedgehog raised the gem to the sky.

“Chaos...” he started. Sonic scooped up dash and sprinted to shadow. Once close enough, the group was enveloped in a large red sphere. “Control!” Shadow finished. And within the blink of an eye, the group had vanished from the thrown room as it collapsed in on itself. The first to open their eyes was Applejack. Who was instantly confused.

“We're...at the farm?” she questioned. She looked around to see the others still keeping their eyes closed tightly. “It's all right y'all. We're back on Sweet Apple Acres,” she confirmed. The other 5 ponies raised their heads and looked around. Slowly getting to their hooves and checking to see if everyone was alright.

“Looks like we are all still in one piece,” Spike confirmed checking everything out. “Is everypony OK?” he asked.

“I think so,” Twilight asked. Pinkie had shook the dust off and was up bouncing around again.

“Wowwie that was cool! Did you see how that black guy was all dark and stuff and the blue one was all 'eggs eggs eggs jokes' and how the silver one was all like 'I am here to save the day!!!'” she over exaggerated. She kept bouncing till she collided with the black hedgehog. She toppled over from his form not giving way to her bouncing. He stared down at her with slight annoyance. His eyes never leaving her large cerulean orbs. She fell silent as she gazed at him. Then he just as suddenly walked away. Heading towards the blue speedster from earlier who was still holding the semi conscious Dash. When she finally woke she looked up to see the green eyes of her Savior. And proceeded to buck him in the face. The hit was hard and unexpected. Sonic instantly let her go and she flapped her wings to get balanced. When she landed she pinned him to the ground growling and snarling at him.

“Who are you!? Answer me right now or so help me!!” she shouted.

“Rainbow!! Calm down!” Twilight shouted pushing her off the hedgehog. Sonic sat up and wiped a little blood from his mouth onto his white glove. He stood up and brushed himself off.

“It's no big. Compared to what I'm use to, that wasn't much,” he said with that same cocky smile. This pissed the already angry Dash off more. She broke free of Twilight and flew right back to him. Shoving her face in his.

“Look pal! I didn't ask to be rescued or saved by anypony! And it sure as hoof ain't gonna be some overgrown hedgehog!” she shouted. Sonic just narrowed his eyes and shrugged.

“Look kid, I don't like steppin on peoples toes about this kinda stuff. You don't want our help, then you won't get it. Guess, they seem to be able to handle it. Let's go,” Sonic said looking at Shadow and Silver. Silver looked at Sonic like he was crazy.

“Sonic your joking right? We can't leave these guys to fight off Eggman by themselves,” the gray hedgehog protested.

“This one seems to think its not our business, so lets make it not our problem. Sorry for botherin' you nice folk,” Sonic said waving Rainbow off. He turned and started to walk away. But in his path was Shadow.

“Blue hedgehog, we are going to help them,” he said coldly.

“And if I refuse? What are you gonna do?” Sonic asked crossing his arms.

“Tell everyone at home what your 'real' name is,” the black hedgehog said with a grin. Sonic visibly shook and started to sweat.

“Umm, excuse me,” Twilight said trotting up to the two with Spike on her back once more. “I would rather you help us. Considering the circumstances, we need all the help we can get,” she asked sweetly. Sonic, never one to turn down someone or in this case somepony who needed help, sighed and nodded.

“Alright then. We will help ya out,” he said slightly reluctant. He looked over at dash who was still glaring at him.

“Thank you. I'm Twilight. Twilight Sparkle. This is my assistant Spike,” she said introducing the purple and green dragon on her back.

“Nice to meet you both. I'm Sonic. Sonic the hedgehog,” he said, then shot a glare at the still smiling shadow. “The dark brooding one is Shadow. And the gray one over there helpin' your friends up is Silver,” he said introducing the lot.

“Well we have, the white unicorn Rarity, the cowpony Applejack, the yellow one is Fluttershy, the pink one is Pinkie Pie, and last is Rainbow Dash,” she said showing her friends. Rainbow huffed and turned her back on the blue hedgehog when his gaze shifted to her. Sonic was about to say something when he heard a familiar voice call out to him.

“Hey Sonic!!” came the voice of the twelve year old fox. His sky blue eyes full of joy seeing the safe return of his friends. “I got a lot of information from Mrs. Smith,” he shouted walking along side Granny Smith and Applebloom. Then something unexpected happened. A happy shrill sounded off from the large group of ponies. Then the orange fox was tackled by a yellow blur. When he opened his eyes he saw the butter yellow Pegasus holding him tightly.

“I've never seen a fox so cute before! He is so cute and look at those Tails!” she shouted squeezing him.

“Heya sis! How was Canterlot?” Applebloom asked.

“Ah think the better question, is how did y'all get to Equestria in the first place?” Applejack asked.

“Well that's a bit of a story in it of itself,” Sonic said sighing starting to recall the events of the previous night
