A Chaotic Decision
Twilight's Choices
Load Full StoryI looked in the mirror with a smile. Rarity had made me a new dress, and was fairly simple compared to most of the designs she creates. Rarity knew that I didn’t need a dress that was overly complicated, and she had fought back the urge to add all sorts of fancy ribbons, glitter, and who knows what else. It was made with a faded midnight blue fabric, and a purple that she said would make my eyes more distinguished. I didn’t really know about that, but if anypony knew fashion it was Rarity, so I’ll take her word for it.
Without really thinking, I decided that I would show Celestia my friend’s newest creation. I teleported to her royal chambers assuming she would be there tending to some form of royal business, as she usually did at this hour. She greeted me with a small smile, and asked to what she owed the pleasure. Her smile vanished once I told her who made the dress. I suddenly remembered why I never talk to her anymore.
“Twilight…” I knew what she was going to tell me if I stayed there to listen to the rest. I didn’t want to hear it. As I turned to walk away she tried to put a hoof on my shoulder. I angrily shook her hoof away and took off back to my room. She was going to tell me yet again that Rarity couldn’t have made this dress. Rarity was no longer alive. None of them were still alive. She had to be lying to me. Rarity was still here, as well as my other friends. Every single time I try to tell Celestia they are still here beside me, she says nopony is there.
I took off in a gallop away from my former mentor. I heard her calling my name, but I didn’t stop. I didn’t want to hear her talking down to me like I was a filly like she usually does now days. The white alicorn was closing the distance between us fairly fast, so in panic I opened my wings and took off. I kept going, only slowing down for an occasional turn or to open a door with my magic without completely stopping. I turned my head to see if the eldest princess was still behind me, and to say I was surprised at what I saw would be a gross understatement.
I saw Discord blocking her path to continue chase. By the looks of the alicorn’s face I would say she was getting the scolding of a life time. Her ears were folded back, and she had tears pouring down her face like she was a filly that just broke her favorite toy. Discord was shaking his head and saying something that I couldn’t catch. Thank Luna he stopped her, my wings and legs were screaming at me to stop. I mentally facehoofed when I realized I could of just teleported into my room instead of letting Celestia run me down.
I froze when I saw this little exchange, abruptly regretting this when I tripped and almost landed on my face. After recovering my senses I looked back to see he was still scolding her and now she was hanging her head in shame and Discord looked slightly amused.
After a moment I realized I should use this chance to get back to my room before Celestia was at my tail again. I teleported the rest of the way to my room, and cast a spell I created myself so nopony besides an Element of Harmony could enter. Just for good measure I locked the three assorted locks on the door.
I plopped down on my bed and buried my face in my pillow. After about several moments I lifted my head for a breath, and immediately threw the pillow away to the other side of the room. I needed to think. What just happened between Discord and Celestia? Why didn’t she do something like banish him to the moon, or turn him back into a statue, or even turn him into a statue and then banish him to the moon!? What did he even tell her, and was it even relevant to her chasing another princess halfway through the castle?
In front of me there was a white flash of light, and when it faded away an orange earth pony mare was facing me. I immediately made the connection that it was Applejack, and I was happy to finaly have somepony here that didn’t think I was crazy.
“Don’t worry Twi, ya still got us, ya hear?” I nodded solemnly at Applejack, smiling weakly. “I just miss the old days when she didn’t think I was crazy...” I said in a barely audible tone. The orange earth pony was engulfed into a flash of light, then Rainbow Dash now stood in the spot where Aj had just been a second ago, waving her hoof dismissively. “She just can’t handle our awesomeness!” In another flash of light there stood Rarity, with her nose in the air. “Oh Darling, she just couldn’t bring herself to admit you have more style than she,” In another flash she was gone too.
I used my magic to remove the dress, and placed it carefully on my dresser. I heard a knocking at my door. “Who is it?” I asked through the door. “Twilight, have you taken your medication yet today… or yesterday?” Celestia asked calmly, yet you could see in her eyes that she was asking out of complete worry for my sanity. “Yes, don’t worry princess,” I said as I opened the door to my room, careful not to hit the white alicorn in the process. Of course I didn’t really take my medication. When I do it silences my friends and I can’t find them. Why would I want that?
Celestia smiled at me with a small hint of relief in her eyes. I felt bad for lying to her, but at the same time I couldn’t feel all that bad since she did put me on some kind of pill that hides my friends from me. “Well maybe you should walk around and enjoy the castle.” Celestia said as she glanced down the hall, “I have to attend to something.” And with that Celestia was already walking away from me.
I watched as she walked away and disappeared from view before considering what I could do for the day. She recently told me I was going to take a break from my normal schedule, and it was going to be just like a small vacation. I didn’t really want to but I couldn’t argue with the princess, even if I was now at the same status as her.
I could go to the kitchen; I was kind of hungry since I didn’t have a thing to eat all day. I could go flying with Rainbow like I did yesterday, which didn’t sound half bad besides the fact my wings were practically screaming at me after about three hours’ worth of flying, and my wings still did feel a little sore today. I could go to some of the shops with Rarity, but I already have just about everything a mare could ask for. I could go enjoy the peaceful gardens with Fluttershy, which I didn’t see any problem with.
I decided to take a small walk around the castle, grab a quick bite to eat at the kitchen, then go to stop into the royal gardens and look at all the flowers and wonderful statues. I stopped and glanced at an empty space, and remembered a certain draconequus that used to be here. I looked to my right to see Fluttershy and her timid yet friendly smile greet me. “Uhm.. Yea Discord wasn’t all that bad.. He just needed a friend is all...”
Fluttershy was right, although it took some time for Discord to truly accept it. Even after the day he told Celestia he had decided against his ways, adjusting to the new lifestyle was difficult. I can say in his defense though that anypony who had to change their way of living that drastically would require some time. It only makes sense since you would have to make a new start for yourself, rebuild your reputation to show you’re not a villain, as well as change how you act. Then again, since its Discord he could have done it. As he would say it, what fun is there in making sense? He said he could make the impossible possible, so he could if he really wanted to.
“Well Twilight… I knew there was some good in him somewhere.” The yellow mare smiled sheepishly before there was the light flash and it died down to reveal Pinkie Pie had taken her place. “We should have left him be! Eternal chaos comes with chocolate milk Twilight! CHOCOLATE MILK!!!
I saw another similar flash about ten hooves away from us, to see the one and only Discord was slithering through the air with his serpent-like body. “Well look who it is,” I said under my breath. Discord continued to slither around mid-air, while pulling his little jokes on the random nobles in the garden. He turned somepony’s hat into a bunny, and made one of his signature cotton candy clouds and sent it off above another noble who had his nose in the air. He continued more random pranks on random nobles for a while before he stopped in front of me and Pinkie, who was abruptly replaced with Fluttershy.
“Why hello there Twilight Sparkle,” He said plainly to me, “I haven’t seen you much since what happened to Fluttershy,” I must look as confused as I feel, because he sighed and raised an eyebrow. “What happened to you?” I asked turning to Fluttershy. “Uhm… I dunno.” Discord looked at me with a small and odd creepy smile crossing his features. “What?” I asked him, sounding a little agitated. I raised my right hoof and pointed at Fluttershy. “She’s right there, nothing happened to her,”
Discord didn’t even bother glancing at her. He only shook his head. “It’s funny what immortality can do to somepony isn’t it?” He asked with a small, forced chuckle. He looked me in the eye and bent down so he was face-to-face with me. I was trying to back away, but I felt like my hooves were glued to the ground. I just looked at him in shock as he kept getting closer and closer. His smile was filling with mischief and his mismatched eyes went half closed.
I wanted to back away but my hooves still wouldn’t let me. All I could manage to do was make my eyes dart to the right while I was barley squeaking, “Fluttershy help!” But when my eyes hit the spot she was at a mere few seconds ago, she was gone. I glanced back at Discord who stopped only about an inch from my face and my heart was beating faster than Dash’s wings when she speeds through the sky.
“She didn’t tell you did she, Miss Sparkle?” He asked as he raised his eyebrow again. “W-Who didn’t tell me what?” I stuttered, not sounding as nearly confident as I hoped. “You had gone mad my dear, after Fluttershy died you were lost in your own mind. It took a while but…” He stumbled on a word but quickly caught himself, “Somepony got you out of your madness for the most part.” I could tell Discord was neglecting to say something.
I glared at him for a second. “Fluttershy is still alive,” I growled. “See, there’s Rarity. Go ask her.” Discord didn’t even bother to look for Rarity either, much to the white mare’s dismay when she noticed how close Discord was getting to me. “She’s gone too. They all are.” My ears were now flat against my head, and my left hind leg finally got the message to back up one step. Unfortunately after that all my hooves felt glued to the ground again.
“Fluttershy was the last of them to go Twilight Sparkle. It finally hit you that all your closest friends were gone. They had gone to the final step of life, which is death. The one step neither you nor I will reach, Twilight Sparkle. We are frozen in time. Once you realized this, you went insane to a point you couldn’t take two steps without screaming in fear, or braking down like a madmare.
My legs felt like they were about to fall out from under me. I broke eye contact and looked to the ground, shaking my head. This was Discord I’m talking too; I’ve always known him as a liar. He broke my thoughts as he reached out his arm that had a lion paw, and used it to gently bring me back face to face with him. I closed my eyes so I wouldn’t have to look at him, and also to stop my tears.
“Twilight,” he said gently. I opened my eyes slowly. He looked serious, which socked me nearly as bad as the moment with Celestia. I backed up a few steps as I tried shaking his paw from my face. “Tell me what happened. NOW!”
Discord laughed a little as he continued to close the newfound distance I just put between us. He leaned down again so we were face to face, and I felt uncomfortable again. “Well princess, the world around you came crashing down, so you chose to crash with it.” I tried to look down again, but to no avail. His paw was now on my face again, gently holding it in place. “How do you explain how I can still see them, and I don’t take two steps and brake down as you claim.” He shook his head.
“Well I guess I waited long enough to tell you,” He said with an exasperated sigh. “You were locked in your room every day and every night. After about a month of this I had grown quite tired of it. I teleported into your room, and helped you. I fixed a problem, but with a new problem.” It took me a moment to figure out what he was saying, but when I did my legs finally gave out.
I was holding my face in my hooves and swatting away Discords arm every now and then. I didn’t care that I was making a scene in public. I didn’t care that Celestia was now at my side. I didn’t even care when somepony was carrying me back to my room. I just don’t see a reason to care anymore.
What he said made sense now; in my confused state I wasn’t thinking about how nopony but a unicorn could teleport the way they were, and not even Rarity because she never bothered learning a teleportation spell. I wasn’t thinking about the fact it’s been a thousand years since my coronation, and they haven’t aged a day since the day I first met them.
I must have been lost in my thoughts for longer than I thought, because whoever was carrying me just placed me on my bed. I didn’t even face them yet. I didn’t want to. It was probably some noble who wanted to get good word from a princess.
I turned to my side, and panic rushed through me when I realized this wasn’t my bed. I was on a cloud! I glanced up to see this was my room, and I felt confused. I slowly looked over my shoulder to see Discord lying on his own cloud. I sighed and shoved my head through the cloud. I’ve had enough excitement for one day, and just wanted to forget everything.
I think I fell asleep like that, because the next thing I knew I awoke eyes to Discord’s mismatched eyes looking into mine as he floated under my bed/cloud. I jumped and held my head under my hooves as I was telling myself what he had told me wasn’t true. Next thing I knew the cloud I was sitting on was gone, and I was falling. I started screaming as I fell, but soon found that somepony had caught me.
I opened my left eye slowly to find Discord looking at me with an amused smile crossing his features. “I could have opened my wings and saved myself,” I growled at the spirit. “I’m sure you would of. Just face it Twilight Sparkle, your wings are just like Fluttershy’s. When you get scared they lock up.” He said with booming laughter. He was right, but I wasn’t going to admit that. “If you want, I can drop you again to test your theory…” He sang. I immediately clutched his waist in a death hug, and by the look on his face he found this amusing yet painful.
“No, no, no, no, no. No need for that.” I said as I tried to sound calm, but I failed miserably. He chuckled at my reaction. “Wait… why are we in the sky? I remember being on a cloud in my room.” I asked, but realizing I was talking to the spirit of chaos. “I got bored,” he simply said. I shook my head. Well, since I’m up here I should get some answers. Where to start….
“So why were you scolding Celestia earlier?” I asked and I secretly praised myself for sounding calmer than I felt. “Oh that? It was nothing,” Discord said with an awkward chuckle. “How about how you… ‘Fixed’ my problem?” He looked like he was getting disinterested, which to me was kind of irritating.
“You ask to many questions my dear.” He said with a yawn. I felt my face burning slightly when he said the ‘my dear’ part. I was hoping he wouldn’t notice, but sadly he did. “So how did you do it?” I asked hoping to change the subject before he said anything. He laughed slightly, “Did what?”
“Make me think my friends were still…” My words trailed off as I found myself losing my voice. “Well, Twilight Sparkle, it was an easy task. It was an advanced version of the spell I put on all the former Elements of Harmony all those years ago. It reaches into your fondest memories of them, and when your mind sees fit one of your friends are by your side.”
I couldn’t help but feel impressed. “The dresses...” I found myself murmuring as I gazed off into the sky. “You mean what the Element of Generosity has given you over the years? Maybe even some of the other ones have given you gifts too? That’s the funniest part!” The chaotic spirit said as he started to lazily float across the sky.
“Didn’t those gifts seem so real, Twilight Sparkle? That’s because they were! When I enchanted your mind, it was just a bonus I added. I left you with some of my chaotic magic, so when Rarity would make you a dress, Pinkie gave you a cupcake, or Rainbow Dash left you Wounderbolts tickets, it was all made possible by that little bit of chaos!” He laughed as a bigger smile cross his features.
“Wow,” I whispered as I decided if I should be grateful for his thoughtfulness, or appalled that he had put a spell on me. I chose to be grateful, just so I wouldn’t lose my only friend that wasn’t a figment of my imagination. If he even was a friend. He pulled me out a depression; I guess you could call that friendly. A strong wind blew through the air as it threatened to make me fall. Without thinking I held even titer onto what I was on. What was I on again? A small whimper made me remember that I was death hugging Discord. I loosened my grip, and heard him exaggerate exhaling.
Smiling sheepishly, I apologized. He laughed heartily, but at the same time it sounded like he was insane. I would know insane, wouldn’t I? Discord started to get closer to the ground, thank Celestia. I may have wings but I prefer my hooves on the ground. “Well I hate to cut this visit short, but I think I’m going to lock myself in my room now.”
It was about a five hoof drop, but I figured I could make it. I jumped and braced myself for landing, but felt somepony grab me by my sides. I sighed and didn’t bother to turn around. “Discord, put me down,” I said through clenched teeth. “Why does this seem familiar?” He asked with a giggle as he held me up. I sighed and shook my head.
“I mean it Discord!” I growled. He laughed and threw me up into the air. I yelped and covered my eyes. I landed back in his hands, but this time I was facing him. “Discord, put me dow-AHHH! “He threw me up again, but higher this time. Instead of cowering, I recovered my senses and tried to open my wings. Nothing. I looked at my back and saw that my wings were missing.
“Wha-” I landed back in his hands. “Did you miss being a unicorn?” He asked me as he ran the fluffy part of his tail down my back, causing me to shiver and my face to turn bright red. Yes, I did miss being a unicorn. Life was much simpler when I wasn’t an alicorn princess and I could just die with my friends.
I realized numbly that I could teleport away from this crazy spirit, and deal with the not-being-an-alicorn part later. I collected my thoughts and aimed my magic to my horn, but lost my concentration as he threw me in the air again. “DISCORRRRRRR-” I started to scream but he teleported higher into the air, and caught me again. “Give me my wings back please,” I asked calmly. His smile had grown mischievous, and to be honest it was scaring me.
“You need to liven up, Twilight Sparkle.” He said as he got ready to throw me again. In reaction I slammed my left hoof into his arm. “Ow! That kinda hurt. What was that for?” Discord said as he looked at the spot on his arm I just punched. “Give me my wings back, and let me go,” I deadpanned as I put a smile on my face.
My smile fell as he broke into a fit of laughter that slightly horrified me. “What if I don’t?” He asked challengingly as arched his neck and brought himself face to face with me. I tried to pull back, but I didn’t get very far since he was holding me in place. I collected my thoughts, concentrated my magic, and attempted to teleport. Last second before I could finish gathering the spell, he tickled my nose with the fluffy part of his tail.
I sneezed and the collected magic accidently hit him in the face, making him sneeze too. We both laughed until our sides hurt, and he had to land on a cloud to recompose himself. The second we landed, a thought hit me. He took my wings, but can I still walk on clouds? I stepped on the cloud gently but found myself falling. I figured that Discord was still laughing and didn’t notice that I was gone. I was too panicked to transport or any other magic, and considering I was a unicorn again I could die on impact.
“I’M READY TO SEE YOU ALL AGAIN!” I shouted joyfully as tears poured out my eyes and up my face as I fell. Tears of happiness. “Think again Twilight Sparkle,” I heard just before I was caught yet again by the chaotic spirit, a mere five hooves from the ground. I sighed and looked him in the eyes. “You couldn’t just let me be happy, could you?” I said as I glared daggers at him.
“Is that what you really want?” He asked as he raised an eyebrow. I opened my mouth to say something, but when finding no words I closed my mouth and hung my head. I felt ashamed of myself for even for a second wanting something so awful.
“It’s okay Twilight Sparkle. You are definitely not the first pony to want something like that, and I can guaranty you won’t be the last.” I smiled slightly at his words, feeling slightly shocked that he wasn’t laughing in my face. I turned to take my leave; I believe I had shamed myself enough for one day. Locking myself in my room for a week seemed only suitable.
A flash appeared in front of me, and there stood Pinkie Pie. “It’s okay Twilight! You just wanted to see us again,” I was shaking my head at her words. This wasn’t Pinkie Pie. This was some image my mind and Discord’s magic managed to create. “Go away!” I shrieked at this…this…fake! In another flash she was gone, but now a fake Dash was in her place. “What’s wrong Twilight? It’s us,” The imposter said, sounding hurt. I couldn’t feel bad for it now though. This wasn’t Dash. “Go away!” I repeated, shouting even louder.
Yet another flash engulfed the imposter, and yet again it died down to reveal itself in a new form. This time it was Fluttershy, and my anger melted away. I could never ever yell at Fluttershy, even if this one was a fake. I had another melt down on the ground, this was like, what, the third time just today? I couldn’t remember. I didn’t want to remember.
Fake-Fluttershy was sitting at my side while I cried out incoherent words. “Shhh, shhh, it’s okay, Twilight. It’s okay.” It cooed as it tried to calm me down. I felt what was now becoming a far- to-familiar embrace. “Dis-Dis-Discord?” I cried softly as I was being lifted away. I wasn’t sure where I was being taken to, since the spirit was about as predictable as Pinkie was serious.
It felt like an eternity before I was set down again. I glanced up to look around the room I was in, it certainly wasn’t mine. I don’t believe I have ever been here. Was this Discord’s room? The second the thought hit me I regained my senses and was back to my hooves. I didn’t personally have my head in the gutter often, but whenever it was I tried to force those thoughts out of my mind.
I was running around the room, looking for an exit. The room was gigantic, possibly as big as the royal library itself. The room was decorated beautifully, with stars, planets, moons, nebulas, and the sun painted on the walls. Every detail seemed up to date and accurate as can be, as if Luna was here herself to advise somepony on how to paint it. The room itself was only solid walls that formed a hemisphere, and at the top of the ceiling there were windows that were wide open.
I glanced around to see that the only visible way out was to fly through the open windows. I looked at my back to see if Discord had given me my wings, only to see I was still void of the feathery appendages. It was sort of weird to see them gone, like a part of me was missing. Or was that the shadow of sadness hanging over me? Either way it made me feel hallow. Empty. Dead.
I mentally facehoofed when I realized I could teleport out of here… unless he stopped me yet again. I collected my thoughts, aimed my energy, and imagined my room. I casted the spell and opened my eyes with a smile, expecting to be in front of my bed. My smile dissolved rather quickly when I saw I never left the mystery room. He must have enchanted this place so my magic wouldn’t work in here.
“Discord, give me my wings back. Now!” I yelled as I searched the room for him. Had he left? I don’t believe he would leave me in this random room, but then again, he was very unpredictable. I sighed and looked for an exit again. I gave up and went to the chair in the middle of the room.
I looked around at the walls again, the design was amazing. There were only the basic bedroom and living room furnishings around the entire place, nothing more nothing less. The furniture was all cleverly designed as well, all of it was fancy and beautiful but at the same time simple. I liked that. The flash that I was finding more and more nightmarish appeared and died down to reveal Rarity.
“This room is just like you, did you know that darling?” said the imposter-Rarity-thingy quietly. “What do you mean?” I asked, even if I only wanted to make it go away, those words seemed to arouse my interest. “You are so beautiful, clever, and even a little fancy, but at the same time you are simple. You were the student of the princess herself, but you didn’t end up one of those snobby Canterlot ponies,” she said as she looked at me intently.
“One of those ponies you wanted to be so badly?” I asked with venom in my voice. I would never say this to the real Rarity. That wasn’t Rarity, this was the imposter. “Yes,” She said sounding slightly sad, “I was happy though, just with you girls. I had a happy life, and even though you probably don’t want to see ‘me,’ I still wish for you to lead a happy life as well.”
With those words and a flash of light she was gone again. I looked longingly at the windows above me. I was alone as far as I knew. “Discord, I wish to leave.” I said in a tone that was only slightly louder than my average speaking voice. I heard a snap off in the distance. Discord stood in front of me, and I just wanted to go back to my room and lock myself inside forever.
“Just wait for the show,” He said with a wicked smile crossing his face. “What show?” I asked irritatingly, getting up and trying to look intimidating. “Oh calm down, will you?” He asked with a chuckle. “Discord I’ve had a long day. I’ve had enough of your games. I’ve had enough of everything,” I said as I turned to walk away. The walls caught my eye, as the stars began to fad and images appeared.
I sat down as I watched the images of me and my friends move around across all the walls. It was amazing how real it all looked, and every memory was just as amazing as the last. When Discord saw my reaction he looked smugly pleased with himself as he sat down next to me. I saw almost every one of the greatest moments between my friends and I dance along the walls, and I was reliving every moment.
We saw a lot of my childhood starting around when Cadance started foalsitting me along with our little song that I couldn’t help but sing along to just out of habit. I made a mental note to visit Cadance whenever I had some space time. We soon saw how I turned Spike into a full grown Dragon, turned my mom into nothing more than a common house plant, and my dad into a cactus, and started levitating the instructors, until Princess Celestia came and got everything under control.
From when I first arrived in Ponyville and defeated Nightmare Moon. I could still feel the joy of saving Luna that day. We saw when Rarity made those horrible dresses just the way we wanted for the Grand Galloping Gala, and I blushed at the memory of how silly I felt after I had walked down the runway. We saw when my friends and I personally destroyed the Gala, causing me to shiver and Discord to chuckle. We saw when Discord was turned to stone for the second time, and this time it was my turn to chuckle as he shivered. We saw when I enchanted my doll, making him laugh wildly as I was blushing.
We soon were seeing a lot more from my later years. We saw Rarity and Applejack’s wedding, we saw Dash’s reaction when she was made a Wonderbolt along with some of her shows, we saw Fluttershy as she tamed dragons, manticores, and timberwolves. All the memories brought more joy, happiness, pain, anger, confusion, and pain. I felt so conflicted but above all happy. I had tears of joy and anguish at the same time.
Before I knew it, I was dragging Discord into another death hug. He was just as shocked as I was, and he couldn’t do much about it so he just awkwardly petted my back with his lion paw. “Twilight I just want you to know that I didn’t drag you here just so you could see your life story, I also brought you here to offer you some choices.”
I pulled away from him and looked up into his golden eyes with mismatched red pupils. “What kind of choices?” I couldn’t help but feel dread as the spirit looked down at me. “Well the first choice is to stay an alicorn with a spell to help her see her dead friends.” To be honest that didn’t sound great. “What are my other choices?” I asked as I was secretly proud of myself for keeping my voice steady.
“You could continue as you are, but instead of the current spell you have I could erase all memories you have of them, and memories like how you met me will just be a blur. You will remember someone was there but you won’t know who.”
I considered this. Not for very long though. As much as I hate the pain of remembering them I could never give up all the times we shared. Those memories make me the mare I am today. Without them I’m that weird bookworm who somehow ended up being a princess. Discord got the message from my silence that I wasn’t going to take this option, so he continued.
“I could remove the spell you have now, and not replace it with anything. The problem with this is you may fall into another depression.”
“So far that seems like the best option,” I said with a sigh. None of my options seemed all that bright but at least this one allowed me to get back on track with the whole princess thing. Celestia had to take me off this vacation eventually so it was best that I can at least do my job.
“Another choice would be to go join your friends. I can make it quick and painless…” He trailed off. He didn’t have to tell me this one involved death. It was kind of implied. I hung my head in shame and guilt. I was seriously considering this option. That alone made me mentally whip myself as I thought this through.
Discord broke my train of thought when he ran his paw across my back, making me jump slightly. “Once you decided, just call my name. I’m only a snap of the talons away,” Discord got up and took his leave. I watched him until he was out of sight. I glanced at my back to see my wings were right back in place, and it was like they were never gone.
As I took off into the night sky I was considering every option to the fullest extent. I knew what I was going to do. Looking around I saw the area was familiar and fairly close to the castle. I stopped to just enjoy myself and Luna’s beautiful night. Even though I wasn’t a pegasus I seemed to think better when I was flying.
After I came up with my decision I slowly flew back to the castle, enjoying the wind through my mane. There was no backing out now. Discord would have his answer tomorrow. I only hope it’s the right one...
