The one to who you gave life
The one to whom you gave life
Load Full StoryA quiet country. One where thick scent of pine and bark roam the range. As far as they eye can see.
A good country.
One where the good earth is rich and forthcoming. Plow the fields and sow your seeds, as your mother has.
The one who gave you life.
Give back to the earth. Give back to her.
She raised you from a little one. When the womb let you out into the bright world to forge your way. Nurture her as she has nurtured you. Let the digger's pick wedge into her breadbasket. The one which she shares to all who are hungry.
Let the country be good for the one whom you will give the greatest gift; life.
She grows inside you, as a seed grows in the earth. Nurture her, feed her with the sweat of a hard day's work. Let her heart grow on the food of a good home. A table where laughter prevails even in the darkest of time. Let her body grow strong with the resolve of hardworking kinsmen. And let her mind be wised by the strength of her family.
Till the good earth. The great giver, the great womb.

Let the pain roll through you like the stormy seas. Be at peace, for this is the day she arrives. Let the agony bear witness to a beauty that will blind it. Let it near witness to the birth of a new life. A new destiny. A new being, to play free in the good land. To learn from her good folks. Let the clear skies be forever above her. Let the soil beneath her be rich and let the wind be at her back, forever guiding her forward. Let the night be as radiant, for she who brings the greatest joy of life is born. Let her come from you. Your own flesh and blood and bone and soul. Let her heart cry out for you. Alone, so alone in the darkness that is life.
Hush now child. Hush now and be content for she watches and she will guard.
Oh how small and fragile she is. How beautiful are these creatures whom we toil for. Whom we love and we cherish. Blessed be these little promises and miracles of life. Of good things. Of wondrous things. Let her be content, and let no ill befall her. For you are the one who gave her life.

Let her run free. For you too ran when you were young. Let nature bear witness to her youth, for you know all too well the passing of it's brief gift. Let the land she treads be rich, let the thunder of her hooves never falter, let the wind be always at her back, guiding her forward in all ventures of life. She is the embodiment of that life. Of youth, of promises untold. Of bliss, and of ignorance to the rigors of the life she will chose. But she has not chosen, and she will not. For the pain of other days will wait there turn, and they will come in due time. But in this instance of time, let her run free. Let her heart, as young as it is be content. Let her heart know the world not as it is, but as she knows it to be.
Let her live and breathe the fresh air of the good country. Of the good earth.
Sing to her as she slumbers, for she fears the dark. Sing and ease her roiling heart. Be the embodiment of light to her. For you are her guardian angel. May you live long and may your wings ever encompass her. Protect her with the all the love in your heart, for she is the one to whom you gave life.

Let the storm roar. Let her eyes become rivers as she lashes out at you. Let her anger, fueled by the changes of life which we all must go through, ravage her body and mind. I know it is painful to simply watch, but patience and honesty are the fruits whom she has heartily eaten. Let time take it's course. Let the divide come, one which every parent and child must feel. Let the sadness come, for this is the end of her ignorant bliss. Let the dissolution settle over the eyes, for the only one powerful enough to lift the veil from her eyes is herself. Let the trials of her pubescence change her into a creature who hates you.
And love her. For she is your child. For every insult and every digger's pick lodged into your breast, let another memory of her smile ease your burden. For every tear, let a ghost of a smile in an autumn day brighten your soul. For every change, remember the creature who you held in your hooves. The pitiful creature who is the very embodiment of life.
For she is the one to whom you gave life.

Be content. You have done your duty, and the storm has passed. She, by the virtue of the schooner that has carried her through the gale, has emerged a strong and independent mare. You have faced your trials and tribulations together. You have come closer than ever before. She, with the virtue of honesty and righteousness which you have watched and admired, tempered with malleable youth, have given birth to a beauteous beast as kind as she is gay.
Be happy, for you have done wonderfully. She who looks to you with filial piety forged from fire and storm. She who looks to the lifeboat to whom she clung to in times of desperation. The one who holds her to the earth. The one to whom you gave life. In your old age, be content. For she has seen the world for all it's beauty and all its vile, and she has accepted it. She is wise beyond her years. The good earth has given her a strong body. And a good family has given her a strong mind. A good lighthouse has lead her through the dark waters, and a good mother has given her a home.
She is wonderful, and she is the one whom you gave life.

Be still. For cold is the waters of death. From birth, you have arrived at it's doors, and it welcomes you with a smile. For you are a virtuous soul. A kind soul who knows pain as it knows pleasure. Whom is tempered by hard work and determination.
Do not cry. For tears are for those who hold regret. As the earth gives, so it takes. And it was your time to answer. Be still child of the earth, for you have nothing to cry for. Yes, your passing is a sad occasion, but inevitability is time, and they will both take their due courses. She will shed her tears as you have. But she will rise from her mourning bed over time. Be content. For the wound will heal. Let your soul be glad, for she is a beacon for all who come to her. She is the rock of Loyalty. The saint of Laughter. The Heart of Generosity. The Soul of kindess. The very meaning of Magic, and the truth of Honesty. She will know her place in the world. For a good destiny awaits her.
Guide her with your whispers in the dark. Be the guardian angel again and protect her broken form when she cannot go on. It is time for her to well and truly embark on the journey of life. You have done your best, and your best was better than good enough.
Sigh in relief. For she is the one to whom you gave life. And she will shine.
