//-------------------------------------------------------// A Dollop of Daisy Sprinkles -by PonyLyokoLover34- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Part 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Part 1 Hi, there, and welcome to Equestria, the greatest place in the wide world. My name is Daisy Sprinkles, sister to Twilight Sparkle. I know, but you don’t share her name like she does to her mother, but hear me out. It was a big shock to Shining Armor to hear that he was going to have not one, but two baby sisters. I was unexpected. Even Princess Celestia doesn’t know how I came to be. Strangely, though I’m not of royal blood, I was born with wings, along with a horn. I’m a unique case. Shining Armor and Twilight Sparkle don’t think me any different, though I think I should not have been born with wings at all. Being an alicorn means royalty, and my head believes I’m not royalty. My heart agrees. How I got my cutie mark of a book on my brown flank with a pink appaloosa blanket was almost like Twilie. After the Summer Sun Celebration, I poured into the magic books, just as she did, and tried to learn how to write, using my horn. I wrote pretty well, despite the fact that I was a filly. Then Mommy Twilight Velvet and Daddy Nightlight came into our room and showed us a note with one red checkmark. Though we were tired, our exhaustion broke when we saw that we were accepted into Princess Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. Twilight was overjoyed, prancing around her room. I was confused, but then turned excited as well. The only problem was that we had to pass separate entrance exams. The four examiners were enough to make all four of my legs shake. We looked back to our parents. They gestured that we should smile. I gulped before I forced a weak smile to my lips. The four raised their pencils and started to take note of us. A noise startled the both of us. We turned to see two stallions push in separate carts. One had a dragon egg. I guessed it was for Twilight. The second cart had blank parchment and a quill. My little heart was racing. Why couldn’t I have just stayed home? Oh, right, because Shining Armor couldn’t take care of me—he was sick with a cold. Luckily, our foalsitter Cadance came in the nick of time to help him. “Well, Ms. Sparkle and Ms. Sprinkles?” said the female yellow and purple unicorn. I jumped out of my hide. Somepony help me. I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to will the quill to come out of the inkwell. According to my parents, due to my eyes being shut, it only lifted and then sat itself back into the ink. I could hear Twilie titter. Trying again, I couldn’t make the feather rise. I couldn’t believe it. The first time I’m going to a gifted school and I couldn’t pass the entrance exam. It would be back to Magic Kindergarten again. “We don’t have all day,” the same female examiner snapped snobbishly. We grunted as we tried our hardest. It was our first exam, and we were going to bomb it. I sat down to take a small break to see my sister pull off weird moves. I creased a brow. What in the hay is my sister doing? She looked as if she was doing something from Battle of the Stars, a popular pony film starring The Wonderbolts, but it wasn’t as popular with me. After exhausting ourselves, we looked to the examiners, sitting on our butts. “We’re sorry for wasting your time,” Twilie sighed. The pencils scribbled on the clipboards. This was a low blow. We blew it. Suddenly, the whole room shook, and a loud noise. What was going on? Did someone set off a bomb? Were we under attack from the Mare in the Moon? What was going to happen? Well, the last question was answered. I saw Twilight’s horn glow, and I was sure that she saw mine glow, too. I felt a force push me back a few inches as it picked up the quill and started to write on the parchment. It was as if I couldn’t stop it. I heard the egg crack, but I couldn’t stop. My Celestia. The first book of the parchment got done in an instant. But, as we both cried out, we lost control. I didn’t know what was going on. I couldn’t see what I was doing. It was as if someone blinded me white. My body was jerking as if someone pulled on me with strings. I let out whimpers, and I heard Twilie do the same. Somepony, help! My horn was working on so much parchment that came out of nowhere. My little thoughts seemed to be heard, as I felt a warm metal shoe on my shoulder. My head seemed to turn at the source. It was then that my eyes began to focus. A taller white mare with purplish eyes, a rainbow mane and tail, golden shoes, and a horn and wings like I had stood in front of us. She had a golden necklace. She had a warm smile, but I could sense that we were in trouble. The purple and green dragon Twilie hatched turned small and started to suck on its tail; the plants turned into our parents; the four supervisors fell into a heap; and the parchment turned into three unpublished novels. “Twilight Sparkle, Daisy Sprinkles!” said she. I kneeled as my mother taught us. I couldn’t bring myself to speak. Twilight Sparkle could. “We’re so sorry. We didn’t mean…” “You two have very special gifts. I don’t think I ever met a unicorn and an alicorn with both of your raw abilities.” “Huh?” Twilie and I said. “But you both need to tame these abilities through focused study.” “Huh?!” we both raised an octave. “Twilight Sparkle, Daisy Sprinkles, I want to make you two my personal protégés here at the school!” she announced. “HUH?!” we went as high in voice as we could go, our jaws to the floor. “Well?” she bent to our level. We looked to our parents. What would they think? Both of them reared and nodded, smiling encouragingly. “YES!” we both yelled as we jumped into the air. Princess Celestia raised a hoof. “One other thing, you two.” Our eyes widened. “More?!” Gravity met up with us and we dropped to the floor. She walked over and pointed to our flanks. My cutie mark was of a book; hers was of a pinkish star, surrounded by sparkles. “Our cutie marks!” we murmured, and then we jumped around Princess Celestia, going, “Yes…” all over the place. “I’ll give these novels to the publisher. These look to be quite promising,” she smiled as we jumped all around her. That night, Twilie was jumping all over our new room. I was flying around in circles. The yeses calmed down. “I cannot believe it. We have our cutie marks!” I squealed. Twilie squealed back, too. “I know, right? We must be the first ever to get it while our powers were out of control!” Then a new pony came. She looked to be a bluish unicorn filly that had been around the block before. “I came to tell you to calm down, and that dinner is going to be soon.” “Last one to get to the dinner hall is a leaky water chute!” I saluted Twilie and flew down the hall. “Oh, no, you don’t!” she giggled. We didn’t know what caused the explosion, or what it was, really, but it did give us our cutie marks. Twilight Sparkle thinks there was a rainbow, but I couldn’t think head or tail about it.
