Chapter one: Why it's not a dream
I guess your going to ask what happened to me. Why I have red eyes that look like robots and have no pupils. Why I'm all alone. Why I'm typing this on a typewriter and acting like someone will read it. Well, the answer is because I am a robot, because I try to kill anpony who comes near me, and because I have hope... Hope that they'll find a cure, come back and help me. But that's probably not going to happen. Do you know what it's like to be the biggest fear in Equestria? To have your home town put into quarantine because they knew you, or were friends with You? No, of course you don't. Nopony does.
I guess your also wondering if this is all a dream, did I pinch myself? Did I try to wake up? I prick myself everyday with a needle to make sure I'm awake. I open my eyes extra wide, I splash my face with cold water, nothing works. It makes me want to cry, but I don't function that way, which makes me even more sad.
It's weird turning into a robot. First of all, you lose your cutie mark. You- I mean me, who else is going to be as stupid as me and turn themselves into a robot? Nopony, that is the answer. Anyway, one leg gets turned into metal, running all the way up to the flank, with coggs where the joints should be. And on the other side it just disappears. Then your eyes turn red. Red and glowing, terrifying and piercing, and monstrous. Your coat colour stays the same, but is usually splattered with blood. Also your mane and tail are the same, but dull and lifeless. Finally your magic aura stays the same colour.
I know I wanted something different, I didn't expect to be like this, but I am. And when a monster inside is driving you to kill everypony, it's very hard to try and correct your errors...
I often have memories, some painful, some beautiful, but none make me feel better. Unlike what some ponies think, I do have activities I enjoy, two, to be accurate. Firstly I have a very soft cloak, pink, and I like drape it over myself, and strut around the room, pretending to be at the grand galloping gala, with my friends, but it would go well.
Also there is a bath here. Did I mention that I'm still living inside the carousel boutique? No, I didn't, well I am. I like having baths. Not hot ones, cold ones. Hot ones would probably disturb my gears. Mind you, that wouldn't make any difference since I don't need to get up and walk anyway.
And so the memories are there. I can visit them any time I want. But I can't make them real, and that misery has no bounds.
I suppose by now your probably wondering how I became this machine. Well, funnily enough it's because of love. I fell in love with a colt named... Well, I won't say, and it was the biggest mistake of my life.
This lot charmed so I completely trusted him. I thought he could do no wrong. I thought he would stick by my side forever and ever. But he didn't...
One night, we came home from our one month anniversary. I went to the bathroom to take off my makeup. I had recently found a gem worth millions of bits. But when I came back, he was gone, and so was the gem. He also took all my money. After that I was heart broken and thought I would never be happy again.
One night I snuck into the library to see is a book would help. I found a scroll from the Canterlot catacombs. The spell on it read "this will cure all your grief and make never defenceless again." So I cast it. And it worked. And now I'm like this.
