It was a crisp fall day when the letter came. I could tell it was urgent becase it came with a pair of Royal Guards pulling a carraige. I opened the scoll and quickly read,
"Dear Twilight Sparkle,
You prescence is requested at the castle immediately. Bring your friends, you'll need them.
Your teacher,
Princess Celestia"
The letter was short and I was confused, but I quickly gathered my friends. Soon we took off. Rainbow and Fluttershy flew beside us while we road inside. We quickly got to the castle and were escorted to the Princess's quarters. On the way we passed Princess Luna, who threw me a pitiful look.
When we stopped outside her bedroom, she called only me in. I could tell she wasn't feeling well. Her usual queenly accessories were discarded in a corner and her mane and tail were lying flat and unflowing on the ground. When she spoke her voice was weak, "Twilight Sparkle, my most faithful student, my time on this Earth has finally come."
"But Princess!" She quickly broke me off. "Twilight, I know what you are thinking, I am supposed to be immortal, but there was a prophecy. It said that when a new princess came along, the oldest of the first three would pass, that is me." "Princess, I never meant.... I didn't...." I started to sob uncontrolably. "Hush now, it's okay. This was supposed to happen. There is no possible way any of us could have prevented it. Now don't cry, don't miss me. We will someday meet again...." She took one last breath and said weakly, '' I've always loved you."
And with that, she passed on. I started wailing and my friends all rushed in, alarmed. When they saw what happened they tried to comfort me, but in vain.
Luna came in to watch as the guards carried her sister away, and lay with me, crying. My friends left us alone with eachother as we sobbed into eachothers fur.
Hours later, I proceded home, head low. I was never ever the same again. I may have been a princess, but never as good as Celestia, my now passed friand.
