//-------------------------------------------------------// The Lost and Forgotten -by jcross22- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Lost Diaries of Jacob Bartly. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Lost Diaries of Jacob Bartly. The Lost Diaries of Jacob Harding It is the fifth day of the third month. The Atlantis military warned the people today. They tell us about a possible invasion. They claimed they have detected a large fleet moving towards Earth and are not slowing down. We have been warned that they will be here in 3 days. No one here is too worried about this. We have had this happen before and nothing came of it. The day went on just like a normal day at the labs. I continued my research into Dark Matter. I am getting closer to building a Dark Matter engine for my Teleportation device. My research is all I have left in this world. All of my funding has been suspended by the council. They have been telling me only god should be in all places at once. I guess it is a concept I never understood. I am getting a small spaceship tomorrow. I plan on swapping the Anti Matter engine out for Dark Matter. By all calculations the power output will be tenfold. The only problem I see it hiding that kind of power. I have no doubt they will detect a power surge that large. It looks like I will have to stall my tests for another time. ********** ********** ********** It is the sixth day of the third month. Its only good news today. The Atlantis fleets stood down today. The military has been in contact with this new alien presence. They say they want to have a peaceful relationship. Of course some people have there doubts. I feel confident nothing bad will happen. It never has in the past. Besides; the best news for today. My contact in the military got his hands on a fighter. Sure it's out of date, but if I know anything about our space craft. We Atlanteans know how to build ships. It's how we got to earth in the first place. I replaced the engine today and got my new Teleportation device loaded in the back. I am hopeful that tomorrow will be the day I test the engines. If they work like it's suppose to. Then I will have made the first engine with a black hole at its core. Furthermore, the Atlantis First Fleet has finished building there new flag ship. I was invited to see the Ascension Project take off on the eighth. I am still not too sure about that. The party is far north in the city and I want to run my tests on the fighter. I am thinking if I get up early. I might be able to do what if need to do and make it in time to see its takeoff. ********** ********** ********** It is the seventh day of the third month. Today I was working on getting power to the Teleportation device. Nothing went the way I wanted it to. The first time I connected the power. It started to glow when it was turned off. I managed to link it to the main computer. It seemed to keep it off for now. I will be running tests with in tomorrow. I think it has to do with the power source it is connected to. It makes sense. I time Teleportation device into a black hole. What could possibly go wrong, right? Putting that aside. All tests passed for propulsion systems. It will be so much fun. I just know it will be the fastest fighter any one has ever seen. I took the weapon systems out to make a little more room for engine insulation. I am positive radiation will not be a problem now. I also upgraded the scanners to more of a modern day tech. It's always a good thing to have the ability to scan a planet. Tomorrow after the launching of our new flag ship. I am hoping the council will grant me an audience again. I need to do my best to convince them. The ability to control time is fundamental to our next stage in technology. Honestly I don't know how I am going to use that as an excuse, but I will still try. I need my rest. I am going to get an early start, so I can make it to the launching on time. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1. First Contact. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1. First Contact. Chapter 1 First Contact I awoke finding myself in a strange position. I was on the floor of a very small room. I looked up and saw a window. I get on my hands and knees. My vision was slightly blurry. I had no idea what happened, but I knew it was big. I felt a warm liquid sliding down my head. I reach up and looked at my hand. It was bloody. "I must have hit my head..." I made my way to my feet. I looked out at the window. It looked like I was in space. I got up on my feet and sat down in the chair. When I sat down. Lights all over the window started to appear. My memory slowly came back to me. I was in a small fighter. I couldn't recall much, but I know how to fly it. "Computer. Give me the status of the ship." I looked over the screen and I was shocked at what I saw. I have been adrift for nine hours. It also appears the rear compartment has a breach. It was a dead vacuum. That must be why the rear entrance door is closed. I looked around the small room for any aid I could use for my head. As I found no medical supplies. I ripped my right sleeve off and wrapped it around my head. I sat down at the chair and watched the screen. I might be able to fix the vacuum if I can over pressurize the rear cabin. It would be only a quick fix. The damage would also need to be small if this is to work. "Computer. Pressurize the rear cabin to 1.25 and to the same for the cockpit. Analyze if this can be maintained." The computer quickly showed the stability of the compartment. It looks like it would be stable for a good long while. "Computer. Maintain pressures and unlock cockpit door." I looked back to the door and found the light was green. I got up and slid my hand over the light. As I did; the door opened. I looked at the device bolted to the floor. It was smoking slightly. I suddenly remembered. This was one of two inventions I installed on this ship. It was a teleportation device. I continued to look at the smoking machine. I then heard a small whispering sound. I watched the smoke behave oddly. Then the thought struck me. The smoke is going to the hull breach. I made my way to the cockpit. "Computer. Scan surrounding space for planets. Pull up Earth star charts and compare them to the Avellian star charts." I went in the back as the computer started its search. I looked around the shelves in the back. I had to find anything that could seal the hull. I found a small case that was full of tools. I search through the box and found a hand held welding tool. I follow the smoke while using my hand to feel for moving air. I feel around the ceiling and found a small crack. I bring the tool up and started to weld it shut. I knew after the weld was solid. I needed to stop the smoking somehow. The filters would only last for so long. I look over the teleportation machine. I found a small gold tube linked to the power cells. I plugged the tube back in and the smoke stopped. It was a surprisingly easy fix for the situation I was in. I made my way back to the cockpit and looked at the scan results. It looked like I was in a small solar system. It had a sun and only one planet. It was strange when I looked at the star charts. It had a lot of the same stars, but a lot where missing. I looked at the travel time. It was telling me it would take nineteen hours just to get to the planet. That had to be wrong. I looked over the controls. "Computer. Pull up power consumption." I scrolled down the list of consumption. Nothing was out of the ordinary until I got to the teleportation device. "Why would I put 94% of the power into the teleporter?..." I cut all power to the device while wondering why. I could only think it was an accident. I watches the travel time quickly change to five minutes. "Well that's better... Much better." I took control of the ship and made my way to the lonely planet. As I got to the planet. I put my fighter in low orbit. I looked out the window and to my surprise. The planet was fairly green. It has what appeared to be water. I could make out some small lakes and vast oceans. "Computer. Run a planetary scan. Search for life concentrations and atmospheric readings." The computer quickly pulled up the scan results. "The planet has a lot of life on it... It looks like the air is breathable." Thinking this might be a good chance to land and finish repairs. "Computer. Run a simulation on atmospheric re-entry." As I watched the simulation. It looked good, so I took the ship out of low orbit and entered the atmosphere. The fire spitting over the window quickly stopped, as I slowed my decent. I was looking over the map on the screen. I was going to a large life sign density. I was quickly interrupted by a loud buzzing noise. Warning lights flashed in my face. Something was coming towards me at a fast rate of speed. I look up and at that split second. I saw a gray and yellow blob. I quickly force the craft downwards. That was a stupid thing to do. At the height I was and the speed I was going. I crashed into the ground with enough force to kill the inertial dampeners. I was lucky they held for the split second they did, or I would be dead. I get up and notice that the crash opened up the cut on my head. It was only a matter of time before the bleeding would stop, so I gave it no mind. As I walked to the rear compartment. I heard a knocking on the door. I wave my hand over the button. I wasn't surprised when the door didn't open. I bring my leg up to give the door a good kick. I did this not to open the door, but to reply to the knock outside. I pull a leaver by the rear door. I could hear the pins in the door being blown out. I give the door a good push. A small crack of light came through the top. I continued to push the door with no success. I did the only thing I could do. I continued to kick the door. The door gradually opened. I climbed out when I saw that I would fit through the crack. I jumped down and saw a gray creature with blond hair looking at me. "You okay mister?" It walked up to me as I stood up. "You are bleeding mister. You need help?" "I'm sorry... I can't understand you." I walk a few steps away from the fighter as the creature followed. "Hey mister... Can you hear me?" This creature jumped in front of me as I stopped. "What's going on mister?" It tilted its head at me. "I can't understand you... I am sorry..." I noticed its eyes. "Hmm. That's different." I laughed. "Come to think if it. That's kind of cute." As I laughed, it smiled at me. "I know you don't understand me, but just for laughs. Where am I?" I crouched down as it came closer to me. Just by looking at it. I knew there was no way it could hurt me. "How were you flying without wings mister?" It came close to me and started to poke me. "Please stop that..." It continued to poke me. "Stop it... Stop... Stop that!" I pushed its leg away from me and stood up. "Derpy! Look out!" I turned to the screaming. I saw a blue thing that was the same species of the gray one. It had hair like a rainbow. I quickly observed it flying at me. A split second before it was about to hit me. I moved to the side; I grabbed its neck and quickly slammed it to the ground. I put my knee over its neck. I quickly formed a fist with my free hand and brought it up to strike it. "Run Derpy! Get out of here!" "Please mister! Don't hurt her! She didn't mean anything by it!" I looked back to the gray one. It looked to have a worried look. I looked back to the blue one and placed my hand back on her neck. I took my knee off while it struggled. I released it and quickly jumped back. It still looked like it wanted to fight, so I was waiting for the charge. "Rainbow Dash!" I looked towards the new screaming. It was like a bird that I have seen on Earth. It was a bit bigger that the other creatures. It was also faster. I was too slow to react in defense. It quickly tackled me. "Ahhh!" I yelled as I felt my ribs crack. As the birdlike thing had me pinned. It raised what looked to be its talons. As it started the swing. It was noticeably slower than her flying. I quickly put up my left hand in an attempt to deflect the attack. I quickly bring up my right fist to strike. I heard a loud crack as my fist made contact. It went limp and fell to the right. I quickly got to my feet expecting the blue one to attack me. "Gilda!" I watched at the blue one ran to the other things side. "Gilda are you alright!?" "Ya Dash. I'm okay, but that thing won't be..." I observed the birdlike thing stand back up and prepared for an attack. I knew this time I would be able to take it out. It was too short of a distance to get any speed. I observed the grey one run in the middle of us. She faced the bird and the blue thing. "Stop it! Mister didn't do anything to you!" It looked like she was defending me, so I relaxed. "But Derpy! It was attacking you!" "No. I was poking him. I was trying to find out what he was." The grey one turned to face me. "Right mister?" It smiled at me, as I smiled back. "Come on Dash. We can take it on together." I looked at the bird with a concerning look. I knew it was still looking for a fight. I watched as the blue one passed the grey one. It walked up to me slowly in a non threatening manner. "I'm sorry." Its ears went down as it looked at the ground. It quickly looked back up. "We cool?" It held out one of its legs. "I can't understand you." I wondered how many times I was going to say that today. "I think he can't understand us Rainbow Dash." The grey one walked up to the blue one. "Derpy. Can you take it to Twilight? I am going to take Gilda to the hospital." "Okay Rainbow Dash. I will take mister to Twilight." I watched the bird and the blue one fly off in a hurry. "Come on mister; we are going to go to Twilight's" I watched as the grey one started to fly away. It turned to look back at me. "Come on mister." It flew back towards me and landed next to me. "Come on mister we have to go." It walked around me and started to push me along. I started to follow behind it as it slowly flew. We made our way into a town. I felt embarrassed. Every one of them was looking at me. The grey one and I made it to what looked to be a market in the middle of the town. A cart with a broken wheel got my attention. "Hold on. It looks like that orange one needs help." "Where are you going mister?" I turned and pointed at the cart. "Oh. You are going to help Applejack." The grey one followed me. "Let me help you." I slowly bent down to lift the edge of the cart. "Golly mister! You okay? It looks like you got the bad end of a good bucking." "Mister is okay Applejack. He just got into a fight with Rainbow Dash and Gilda." "What! What happened Derpy!?" The orange one had a worried look on its face. "Everything is okay right mister?" The grey one smiled at me. "Can we hurry with this. I don't want to hold the cart up forever..." I pointed with my free hand at the broken wheel. "Oh. Right." The orange one looked at me. "Golly mister; you sure are strong." The orange one quickly swapped out the wheel. "Thanks mister! I hope you get better. You also might want to clean yourself up a bit." I continued to follow the grey one to a tree. I guess a tree house was a better description. I watched the grey one pound on the door. "Twilight! Are you home!? I have a new friend you have to meet!" "What is it Derpy?" The door opened and I saw a purple thing standing in the doorway. "Oh my gosh! What is that thing!? What happened to it!?" "Oh. Mister got in a fight. Rainbow Dash told me to bring mister here." "We have to get it to a hospital too! Come on Derpy!" I suddenly felt lighter as I started to float in the air. I flailed a bit, but quickly stopped when I realized I couldn't get down. "Spike! Write the princess a letter! Tell her it's an emergency and I need her!" "You got it Twilight!" I tried to look back at the voice, but I couldn't turn much. All three of us quickly made our way to a large building. It had a white cross with hearts in a red circle. "Doctor! We need help!" "My word! What happened?!" I looked at the brown one in the white coat. "He got in a fight." I looked at the grey one as it spoke. "Quickly Twilight! Bring it to room two." The purple one quickly ran into some room with me floating close behind. I was quickly placed on a bed. The brown one and a white one rushed in next to me. The white one started to hold me down. I quickly grabbed her legs and moved them off of me. "Calm down mister! We are trying to help!" The gray one started to yell. I couldn't understand what side she was on. My arms and legs suddenly started to glow purple. I strong force pulled me back to the bed. I quickly reacted and used all my strength to fight it. It was a slow process, but I started to pull away from the bed. I sat up and got off the bed with the resistance of the glow. I looked at the purple one. It was sweating and gasping for air. The horn on its head was glowing the same color of my arms and legs. I started to reach out to the purple one, as the brown and white one tried to pull me back on the bed. I slowly reached out to the purple one. It collapsed on the floor. It looked exhausted, so I let it be for now. "Let go of me!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, as the brown and white one were trying to get me on the bed. They both quickly let go of me. By now; all of them were a good distance away from me. I make my way to the thing wrapped in bandages. "I am sorry. I am going to need to use your water." I said to the bandaged creature. I placed one hand gently on its head; while I grabbed the glass of water. I turned around with everyone looking at me. "I need some water." I pointed at the glass. I walked over to the purple one and poured the water over its head. "I think mister wants some water." The grey one started to speak as the purple one woke up looking at me. "Nurse. Go get a bucket of water." "Yes doctor." I watched as the white one quickly ran out of the room. It came back shortly after with a bucket. It placed it on the floor in front of me. "Thank you." I smiled at the white one. I ripped my other long sleeve off and dropped it into the water. I reached around my head and undone the makeshift bandage. I throw it in what I thought to be the garbage. They all continued to watch me as I grabbed the wet cloth in the bucket. I started to wipe the blood away. They all looked on in amazement. "I heal very quick. I don't need any help." Suddenly a large white creature walked in the door. I looked at it as it looked around the room. I suddenly started to glow yellow and was quickly forced against the wall. I tried to fight, but this glow around me was much stronger then the purple glow. "What is going on here!?" I watched as the white one yelled. "Please princess. Mister didn't do anything. It's all just a misunderstanding. You see he can't understand us." I looked at the grey one as it spoke. I was gently put down on the ground. The white one walked over to me. I stood up straight as its horn started to glow. I didn't think it was going to hurt me. It did let me go after all. It touched my forehead and a shearing pain shot through my head. "What was that for!?" I yelled as I grabbed my head. "Ever since i got here. I have been getting attacked left and right..." I looked around as everyone in the room was in shock. "Hey mister! What's your name!?" The grey thing asked while jumping around in excitement. "Well that's new. My name is Jacob." I walked over to the gray one. "Can I ask for your name? Also what are all of you?" "My name is Derpy Hoofs and I am a Pegasus pony!" She stood up proud. "A Pegasus pony?" I thought about Earth. "Oh! the humans use ponies and horses for laboring in the fields! I should have remembered about that. I am sorry. I had no idea what all of you were until now." I looked at the purple one as it stood up. "Can I have your name too?" "My name is Twilight Sparkle. I am a unicorn and this is Princess Celestia." She walked over to the white horse. "She rules over Equestria." "So who are you two?" I turned and faced the brown and white ponies. "I am Doctor Stable and this is Nurse Redheart. I have to ask. What was all of that blood from?" "I crashed my space ship. It was a hard landing. I dove down so I didn't hit Derpy." I thought about that for a second. "Do any of you know a blue pony with a rainbow colored mane and tail?" "I do!" I turned to Derpy. "You are talking about Rainbow Dash!" "You know Rainbow Dash Jacob?" Twilight asked. "Ya I do... Rainbow Dash attacked me for no reason." "Rainbow Dash you say?" I looked at Doctor Stable. "She came in with a friend of hers. Rainbow Dash was fine. Nothing more than a little bruising on the back of her neck. But her friend Gilda had a broken jaw. I patched her up and she quickly went off. Rainbow Dash is still here; I will go get her." "I appreciate that Doctor." I said as he walked out of the room. "Jacob. I have to ask... How were you able to fight my magic like you did?" I looked at Twilight. "You have to be really strong to fight back like you did." "My people come from a planet called Avellia. It is about seven times larger than this planet. So I would assume that is what you are talking about. We require more muscle to move around on it, but we had to leave that planet and find a new one." "Why? What happened to your planet?" Twilight asked. "Well... Our star was dying, so we picked up and left. We found a primitive planet with life on it. It is called Earth. The natives there saw us as gods. It is a little funny. We never put up the god look. They just went with it." "Hey everypony! What's going on in here?" I looked at the voice coming from the doorway. "Hello Rainbow Dash." She quickly looked at me in shock. "How did you know my name!?" She paused for a second. "Oh. Also i am sorry for attacking you. I thought you were going to hurt Derpy." "It's okay, by the way. How was your other friend? I think the name was Gilda." "She went back home. I don't think she likes you." Rainbow Dash laughed. "By the way; how are you so fast and strong?" "Umm..." I just remembered she wasn't here for that explanation. "I work out a lot." "So how did you come to find yourself here Jacob?" Princess Celestia asked. "That is a good question. I can't remember much about how I got here, but I have an idea." "Could you tell us?" Princess Celestia waited. "Okay. I think I put too much power into my teleportation device. It got too much power and POOF. I ended up here." I laughed. "It's getting a little late." Princess Celestia said. "How about you rest here. I will have Princess Luna help you with your memories tonight." I watched as all of them except Derpy walk out of the room. "I would love to fly with you sometime soon Jacob." Derpy gave me a smile. "Sure. That sounds like fun. I will see what i can do about that later on." "Okay. See you tomorrow morning!" Derpy pranced out of the room happily.  I looked over at the pony wrapped up in the bandages. "Sorry if I scared you. I wasn't trying to." I gave it a smile and made my way under the blankets. "Goodnight and I hope you get better soon." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3. The Fall of Atlantis. Landing Party. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3. The Fall of Atlantis. Landing Party. Chapter 3 The Fall of Atlantis. Landing Party I get up from where I was sitting. Derpy quickly grabbed her bag of muffins and followed me to the door. As I held the door open for Derpy. She smiled with the bag in her mouth. "Fank youf Facob." Derpy said while fighting the bag in her mouth. "Yep..." I tried not to laugh. I continued to hold the door open for Celestia and Luna. "Thank you."  Both Luna and Celestia said while giving me a smile. I walked into the hospital; following Luna and Celestia. I look over in the lobby and saw Twilight and Rainbow Dash looking at me. The other four were also looking at me, so I decided to introduce myself. I turned to look at the orange one. "Hello. I'm Jacob. How is your cart?" I smiled. "Well its fine partner." She tilted her hat. "My name is Applejack and I hear you put Rainbow Dash in her place yesterday..." Applejack raised an eyebrow. "It was nothing more than a misunderstanding; I assure you." I turn to a yellow pony with a pink main and tail. "Good morning. It is a pleasure to meet you; I am Jacob." I gave her a smile. "I'm Fluttershy..." She said in a whisper. I kneel down close to her. "I'm sorry I didn't catch that. could you repeat yourself?" I turn my head to face my ear to her. "I'm Fluttershy..." She was even quieter then last time. "It's okay." I stand up and put my hand on her head. "When you get more comfortable with me. I will ask for your name again. I gave her a smile and walked over to a pink pony. "Morning. I'm Jacob." "I know that silly... It's not like your name can change when you talk to somepony else!" She quickly smiled. "I'm Pinkie Pie!" I smiled and turned to the white one. "Hello Jacob." She smiled. "I am Rarity." "Nice to meet you all." Twilight then interrupted. "Jacob... Is everything alright?" Twilight looked at me with wide eyes. "Yes..." I raised an eyebrow. "Why wouldn't I be?" "Don't worry about her." Rainbow Dash Interrupted. "She always over reacts." She walked up to me and nudged my side with her hoof. "Besides; you have somepony waiting for you." She pointed to Derpy and Luna. "Right... Thanks." I turned and made my way into the room. "Are you sure you want to do this? It might not be wise after what you experienced last time." Luna and Celestia watched as I made my way to the bed. "I am sure. I need to know what happened." I laid down on the bed. "Okay." Luna gave me a worried look. "I must warn you. You will regain consciousness in the same spot as you left. You will continue to feel the pain you have experienced. Knowing this; do you want to continue." "Yes." I closed my eyes and relaxed. "I commend you for your bravery. We will begin." I heard her walk closer to me as another shark pain shot through my forehead. I opened my eyes slowly. Siphonei was still holding her hand out to me. I got to my hands and knees and made my way closer. I quickly reach out and grabbed her hand. She pulled me to the ladder and placed me to where I could climb down. "Hurry Jacob! we need to close the hatch. You have had too much radiation exposure as it is." She watched me climb down the ladder as she closed the hatch. We quickly made our way to ground level. I was quickly brought to my hands and knees once again. The burning was too much. "What's wrong!?" Siphonei quickly rushed to my side. "Are you alright!?" "I am fine... I had too much radiation, so my body feels like it's on fire." I take deep breaths to try to calm my nerves. "Just give me a couple of minutes. I should be fine." "We don't have a minute!" Siphonei looked up as the alarms started blaring. "We have to go now!" "Sure..." I made my way to my feet slowly. "Why are the alarms going off now? It's a little bit of a late reaction don't you think?" "I don't know why they had a late response time." Siphonei and I looked at the door as we heard screaming and yelling. "We need to get to a shelter! Come on!" Siphonei grabbed my arm and put it around her shoulder. "No!... We need to get your family. I have a bunker in my living quarters." I started to cough up blood. "My bunker will shield us from harm." "Right." She helped me to the door. "I am fine." I take my hand off of her shoulder. "It looks like people are running south. We need to head north to your apartment, so stay close behind me." "Right..." Siphonei opened the doors and saw everyone running away from the blast. I quickly grabbed Siphonei's hand and started to run against everyone else. It was strange; I saw no Atlantis military on our way to the apartments. I heard aircraft launching and a lot more bombs going off, but nothing like the first bomb. "Hurry! Find your kids. They might be in their rooms hiding. I will keep an eye out down here." I watched as Siphonei rushed off. I turned to watch the door. This didn't make since. Why didn't the Global Defense Network activate after a weapons launch? I made that system to be flawless. The only thing that came to mind was the Ascension Project. They must have shut the network down to update the Friend and Foe system. I heard noises coming from behind me; I turned to look. "Siphonei. Hurry!" I ran up to her and her kids. "I will carry John; you carry Crystal." I quickly pick John up. "Both of you need to close your eyes. It won't be good for you two to see what is out there." Siphonei and I quickly made our way to the hall with the kids. As far north as we were; the halls were completely empty. We quickly made our way to my living quarters; while bombs continued to fall outside. "Hurry! Get inside." I quickly open the door and place John inside. I watch as Siphonei ran inside with Crystal on her back. I quickly step inside; closing the door behind me. " Siphonei I need to go back to the hanger." "Why!?" Siphonei put Crystal down and walked over to me. "The engine on the fighter is experimental." I walk over to a hidden compartment on the floor. "I don't know what will happen if it was subject to a large explosion, but I don't imagine it to be good." I opened the hidden door and help the kids down. "Why would you create something if it is so dangerous? That is just stupid." Siphonei walked over to me as I held out my hand. "For the same reason I helped create bombs like the one we saw." I helped Siphonei down into the hole. "We need a defense for aliens like today." I quickly close the door before Siphonei could say anything. I quickly ran into the kitchen and leaned over the sink. I started to cough violently, but no blood came out. I was recovering slowly, but it was still hard to breath. I made my way out the door and down the hall. I was going as fast as I could, but not fast enough to strain my lungs. I was about half way to the hanger. I was quickly stopped by a large explosion by the wall. I looked to the smoke and saw three shadows emerge. I backed away slowly until I heard voices. "We have movement..." They started to walk towards me. "Hello?" I said while they came closer. They quickly cleared the smoke and started to yell at me. "Atlantis Special Forces!" They quickly brought their guns up. "Get on the ground!" I looked at the insignia on their shoulders and sure enough they were ASF. "Get on the ground! Comply!" I quickly put my hand up and looked at my chest. I quickly dropped to my knees and placed my hands on my head, as I saw three green lasers moving on my chest. "Who are you! State your name!" The one in the back yelled. "I am Jacob Bartly. I am a scientist." I was quick to reply. "Resident number R306777." I looked up as the one in the back scanned over a small computer screen. "He checks out." He rushed over to me and helped me to my feet. "Why are you not in a shelter yet?" "I have a new invention on a outdated fighter in the hanger." I brushed myself off. "I need to get to it and fly it off this planet." "That can wait. You are in a hot zone. This sector is being flooded by radiation and enemies are landing all over the place." He grabbed my arm. "Come on! You need to get to a shelter." "No!" I quickly jerked my arm away from the man. "You don't understand. If that fighter blows up; the planet will follow." "What are you talking about?..." All four of us stopped. "You are not making any since." "I have a black hole on that fighter. Do you understand that now?" I ran past the men. "Wait!" One of the men yelled at me. He was quickly cut off by an explosion in front of them. "What the hell was that!?" I quickly turned to the explosion. I carefully watched the smoke pour from the wall. As the smoke started to thin; I could see a small object balled up on the ground. I watched as the object started to grow. It looked like it started to take the form of a man, but something was different. The thing was huge; when it stood up. It was at least nine feet tall. I continued to watch the object sprout another leg in the back. I watched as the third leg quickly dug down in the ground. "Get back!" I yelled. "It is stabilizing itself for an attack!" I quickly dove to the ground. A split second after; a loud noise shook the halls. The noise was so loud that it shook my body to the core. Something about this sound was strange. It made me weak and almost unresponsive. I look back and saw the smoke was gone. I saw one of the solders on the ground covering his head. I looked for the other two, but they were nowhere to be found. I lifted my head a little off the ground and saw a large puddle of blood. I quickly made my way to my feet, as did the soldier. "Don't let it attack again! It uses our harmonic frequency as a weapon!" "What does that mean!?" He quickly charged the object. "It uses sound to shatter the cells in our body. Whatever those things are; they use sound as a weapon. Stay close to him while you fight and you should be safe!" I keep my distance from them both as I continued to watch. He quickly moved in as the third leg of the object seemed to vanish. It looked like it sprouted some kind of arm this time. It then grabbed the soldier and pinned him to the ground on his stomach. "A little help would be nice!" He then yelled as he was slowly being crushed. I quickly bend down and charged. I jumped at the object and quickly noticed. It was a machine with something in it. I could hear something rattling on the inside. As I had it on the ground; I arched my elbow up. I quickly bring it down as it brought its third arm up to try and stop me. As my elbow made contact. It split the metal and broke whatever was inside it. The creature let out a deafening howling noise as kicked me off of it. It kicked me with enough force to throw me about ten feet in the air. While I was in mid air. It quickly recovered and got to its feet. I then realized the third arm wasn't an arm at all. It looked to be a tail. A couple of feed before I hit the ground. it quickly forced its hand against my chest and slammed me against the wall. It started to make noises; like it was trying to talk. I looked at its other arm as a large glowing blade unfolded from its armor. "Cover your face!" The soldier yelled as he brought his gun up to his arm. I covered my face as best as I could and saw him firing at the creature. Quick beams of plasma ripped through its armor and it quickly fell to the ground with me. I slowly get up while coughing. "Are you okay?" He ran over to help me. "Yeah; just a little short on breath. It's a little hard to get air in your lungs when you have plasma shooting past your head." I slowly make my way to my feet. "I don't think I got your name." "My name is John Mathews." John brushed off the dirt on my shoulder. "Resident number Z993777. Atlantis Special Forces of the First Fleet." "A triple seven? So you lived on Appela too?" I stared in amazement. "Why are you on the ground?" "The first fleets were on break. The second and the sixth fleets took our place in defense as our new flag ship was commissioned." John sighed. "Look how much good that did us." "Judging by the weapons they have been using; the outcome might have been the same. It seems they are a couple hundred hears ahead of us." I looked around the halls. "I think it would be best if I get to the hanger. I am going to need your help to get in." "Right. Then we best get moving. I don't want to run into any more of those things." John put his hand up pointing down the hall. "You lead the way." "Okay. Let's go." We quickly ran down the hall. As we ran down the hall. The outcome was evident; we are losing the battle. They struck us where it hurt the most. When everyone was at a launching party. We didn't even pull out all of the stops. The Global Defense System was probably destroyed along with the second and sixth fleets. The first fleet was hit when they bombed the Ascension Project. I don't even know if the third, fourth and fifth fleets made it off of the moon to aid in defense. It made me wonder how the moon base was. If it was as bad as it was here. They would have lasted longer, but not much longer. "Get down!" John yelled as he pushed me down. Five loud blasts shattered the windows. The concussive blast had enough power to gently push me towards the wall. I look out the broken window. "What happened?" I asked while standing back up. "They are using the gauss weapon systems." John quickly got up and pushed me forward. "We banned the use of gauss weapons on this planet. It is too small to have a nuclear bomb propel the projectile. The fallout would plunge the world into an ice age." I looked back out the windows as we ran. I could see large plooms of smoke jetting out of the landscape. "Don't you get it Jacob... We already lost. The only thing we can do now is to kill as many as we can." "What about the natives!? They have no way to defend themselves against something like this." We quickly stopped at the hanger door. "The natives don't matter!" John quickly opened the door. "Go! Get to your ship and get out of here!" "You're not coming?" I ran towards my fighter. "No; I am going to stay and fight." John smiled at me. "You are stupid! You are going to die... Being a triple seven means nothing when you are exhausted. We are not on Appela, so we are weaker since moving to this planet." I reach my hand out towards John. "Don't throw your life away." "That's a nice sentiment, but as long as Atlantis still stands. I will continue to fight." John Smiled one last time. "Get out of here Jacob." I watched as John turned around and closed the door. I walked into the fighter and closed the door behind me. I walked up into the cockpit and sat down. I took a deep breath and looked over the controls. "Computer! Scan surrounding space. Look for friendly's and isolate the enemies." I reach over to turn on the teleporter. I adjusted the power to 1%. I then turned back to the scan results. I see an opening and gathered the co ordinance. "Computer! Teleport to 0.1 AU at X02 Y32." I waited at the ship started to shake. Soon after a bright glow shined through the front window. "Computer! Open all communication channels!" Voices quickly flooded the cockpit. "Computer. Isolate all channels within a 5 mile radius." "We have an unidentified craft appear by the moon. Requesting permission to engage!" "Negative! I am a friendly." I quickly cut in. "Who are you!?" He was quick to reply. "My name is Jacob Bartly. I am a scientist; resident number R306777." "Do you have weapons on that fighter Jacob?" "Negative; I am empty handed." "Then get the hell out of here. You will only be in the way!" I quickly turned off my radio. I looked around and saw a lot of wreckage floating around. "Computer! Scan the area and find me some bombs that will be big enough to take out a flag ship." The computer quickly found one candidate. I quickly run back towards my teleporter and made some quick modifications. I double checked my work and ran back in the cockpit. "Computer! Teleport that bomb in the rear compartment!" I looked back and covered my eyes to a bright white light. I looked and saw a large bomb sitting in the back by the door. "Computer. Look for the largest enemy space craft. Find me a clean path towards it." I watched the screen as the computer pointed out the best way for me. I quickly took control of the fighter. I turned the radio on and quickly flew off. "I need cover! I have a bomb on board and I am dropping it off in their flag ship." I waited for a response. "For a scientist; you are extremely stupid! You can't bomb anything while they have shields. How do you plan to deliver the bomb?" "I invented a teleporter. I know it works, because it teleported me by the moon." I waited for someone to say something. "How?" "It doesn't matter how! Just give me cover and I will teleport the bomb past their shields. They won't know what hit them." I continued to fly towards the large ship. "Rodger that! All remaining fighters in my unit. Form up on that fighter! Make sure he reaches his target unharmed!" I watched as my radar showed about 20 small fighters form up around me. We were quick to grab the attention of our enemy. Soon after about five fighters broke off and engaged the enemy. "Keep pushing forward!" People started to yell over the radio. We quickly came up on the large space craft. I started to fly around behind it. I was careful not to crash into its shields. "Computer! Teleport the bomb behind the engine! Make sure it is directly in the fire!" Light quickly flooded the cabin of my fighter. Seconds after the light vanished. My fighter shook violently. I was thrown out of my chair. I hit my head on the ground hard. I looked up and saw a bright light pulsing from the front window of my fighter; then I quickly blacked out. "Stay in bed Jacob." I opened my eyes and looked at Luna. "Stay in bed; just relax." "I am fine; don't worry about me." I slowly got up and sat at the edge of the bed. "It is getting late." Celestia smiled at me. "I think it would be in our best interest if you just went to sleep." "Yeah; I guess so." I watched as they all walked out of the room. I laid back in the bed and closed my eyes. As exhausted I was; I fell asleep very quickly. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4. Fight or Flight. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4. Fight or Flight. Chapter 4 Fight of Flight I awoke to noises out in the hall. I quickly get up out of the bed. I turn around to make the bed, as I finished; the door opened. I watched as Luna walked in the room. "Good morning Princess Luna. How can I help you today?" I faced towards Luna. "I was wondering if you wanted to finish your memories today." Luna smiled. "I think I will pass this time. I already know how the rest happened." I turned and walked towards the window. "I am happy to hear that." Luna walked up next to me. "I am sorry for what I put you through." "Why would you be sorry?" I laughed. "By the look on your face; you seem more disturbed about what happened than me." "How can you be so calm about what happened? I don't understand. Your kind might be dead and you seem so calm about it." Luna looked at me puzzlingly. "We live for a long time. There is no point dwelling on something that is already done and over with." I sighed. "And for my kind; If we all die from something like that. We never disserved to live in the first place." I gave Luna a smile. "It is a lot harder to kill our race than you think. Not even a dying star could kill us." "That is a very narrow minded way of thinking." Luna raised an eyebrow. "That might be, but it is the truth." I turned to look at the door as it opened. "Hey Jacob!" Derpy quickly ran over and gave me a hug. "Whatchya doing!?" Derpy looked up at me with wide eyes. "I was thinking about taking a look at my fighter." I watched as Derpy let me go. "I want to see if it can still fly." "Can I help?" Derpy smiled. "I don't see why not." I was interrupted. "What about me? Could you use an extra hoof?" Rainbow Dash asked while walking into the room. "Actually; I think I could use all the help I can get." I gave them both a smile. "Then I will let you go Jacob. It sounds like you will be busy today, so we can talk another time." Luna smiled and walked out of the room. "Well then it is settled! Are you two ready to go?" I asked while walking towards the door. "Yep!" Derpy quickly followed behind. "Sure." Rainbow Dash said with a smile. We quickly left the hospital and made our way to my fighter. As we walked through town this time. Not a lot of the ponies were looking at me. I would guess it was the blood I had on me last time. It was understandable;  they must not have had war for a long time. This world would be a good base for an advanced society. All they need is a guiding hand and knowledge about safe technologies. "We are hear Jacob." Derpy quickly turned and smiled. "Thanks Derpy." I quickly made my way to the door as Rainbow Dash and Derpy followed. "What can we do?" Rainbow Dashed asked as I looked at the fighter. "Well..." I quickly climbed on top of the fighter. "Go over by the door and dig up the dirt at the bottom. I will make sure the door won't fall on you." I walked over to the back of the fighter and held the door back. "So the door is heavy?" Rainbow Dash asked as they both walked over and started to dig. "Yep! It is heavy enough to crush both of you." I watched as they finished clearing the bottom of the door. "Now look at the bottom for five small holes. Look in each one and tell me if they are clear." "But Jacob." Derpy cocked her head. "There are only four holes down here." "That's okay. Both of you move away from the door." I watched as they both moved. I quickly jumped down to investigate the pin. "Rainbow Dash; you think you can go get Twilight for me? I am going to need her help." "You got it!" I watched as she quickly flew off towards town. "So why do you want this opened so badly?" Derpy looked at me while tapping the door. "I need to get to the Inertial Dampeners. They are tubes that span the ship's hull." I looked on the edge of the door to make sure it wasn't badly damaged. "What are Inertial Dampeners?" Derpy walked up and looked at the door with me. "It dampens the force of motion." I looked at Derpy as she gave me an odd look. "It makes it a comfortable ride when you fly." I smile. "Without the Inertial Dampeners; you could get hurt just by moving forward." "How can you get hurt?" Derpy tapped the side of the fighter. "This thing is so fast at accelerating; it could hurt you." I scratched my head. "I don't know any other way to tell you this. How about this! If it can still fly; I will give you a ride and I can show you what I am talking about." "You mean it!?" Derpy quickly jumped around in circles. "You would give me a ride on your back!?" "Close. You can ride next to me while I fly." I look past the fighter and see Twilight and Rainbow Dash coming towards me. "Wow! What is this thing Jacob?" Twilight walked around the fighter in amazement. "This is how I got here. It is a military fighter." I smiled as she continued to walk around it. "It allows me to fly to other planets." "What!? How!" Twilight quickly ran up in front of me. "Can you show me!?" "I already told Derpy that she could ride with me." I looked at Twilight as her ears wend down and she looked at the ground. I cracked under the pressure when she looked like she was going to cry. "Okay Twilight..." She quickly cheered up and gave me a smile. "I will see what I can do." "Thank you thank you thank you!" Twilight quickly tackled me and hugged me on the ground. "Twilight... First things first..." She quickly hopped off of me. "We need to get that door off. "Right!" She smiled. "What can I do to help?" "I am going to lift the door out from that pin." I pointed at the ground towards the last pin. "It is bent badly, so we need to pull it straight out then lift up." I motioned with my hands to show her what we needed to do. "I will be lifting most of the weight of the door, but it is too heavy for me alone. I need you and your telekinetic abilities to help lift what I can't handle." "What is telekinetic abilities?" Twilight raised an eyebrow. "That horn on your head..." I pointed at the horn. "Oh! Its magic; not telekinetic abilities." Twilight smiled. "Okay. Well never the less it is all the same." I looked to Derpy and Rainbow Dash. "You two are going to need to move back. It might be a little dangerous." I watched as they both moved back. I positioned myself at the door. I reached around and got a good grip. I looked at Twilight and nodded. I started to pull as hard as I could when the door glowed a gentle purple. As the door started to slowly move. A large jet of steam shot out from the bottom of the door. "Ignore that Twilight! Keep pulling!" I yelled as Twilight moved back. "Right." We continued to pull the door out. When it finally cleared the bent pin. I slowly lifted the door above my head with Twilight's help. I slowly walked over to the side of the fighter and we gently placed it against the hull. "Well that thing is heavy! Don't you agree?" I looked over at Twilight as she laid down. "I don't see how you could have lifted that thing above your head!" Twilight started to pant. "Even with my help; I am exhausted..." She watched as I walked up to her. "It's alright." I put my hand on her head and smiled. "Just rest for now. We can handle the rest. Okay?" "Okay." Twilight smiled as I walked over to the rear of the fighter. "Wow! So this is what it looked like inside!" Rainbow Dash said as both her and Derpy walked inside. "I don't mind you looking around inside. Just don't touch anything." I inspected the covers of the Inertial Dampeners. I then heard a loud popping noise as Rainbow Dash and Derpy quickly ran back outside. "I'm sorry Jacob! I don't know what went wrong!" Derpy quickly ran behind be as smoke billowed out of the rear compartment. "What did you do Derpy?..." I walked into the rear compartment and see the smoke pouring out of my Teleportation Device. "Never mind; I know what you did..." I walked over and picked up the plug on the ground. I plugged it back into its slot and the smoke quickly stopped. "I think it would be best if you both stayed out of here for now." "Okay." Both Derpy and Rainbow Dash said while looking at the ground. "Come over here; I need both of you to help." I twist the Inertial Dampening covers off and tossed them to the ground. "I need you both to pull the Inertial Dampening tubes out. Be very careful. They are about 7 feet in length and very delicate. Just put them on the grass on the other side of the fighter." "You got it Jacob." Rainbow Dash smiled while grabbing the closest one with her teeth. "Okay." Derpy slowly grabbed one of the tubes and started to pull it out. I quickly grab the top two tubes and pulled them out enough to where they wouldn't fall. I grabbed them in the middle and pulled them out all the way. I walked over and placed them gently on the ground next to the fighter. I walked back around and saw Rainbow Dash almost had hers out. Derpy had hers half way. I quickly stopped as I heard a loud cracking noise. "Rainbow Dash! Move back!" I yelled. I quickly grabbed the Inertial Dampening tube Derpy had in her mouth. I quickly used my free hand to push Derpy back in the air as hard as I could. I forced the tube to break upwards to pour its contents on the ground. I quickly jumped back as I dropped the broken tube next to the fighter. "What's wrong!?" Twilight quickly jumped up. "I'm sorry Jacob! Please don't be angry." Derpy started to cry. "I didn't mean it; honest." "Its fine Derpy; Accidents happen." I walked over to her and patted her on the head. I turned to see Twilight looking at the silver liquid on the ground. "You might want to back away from that Twilight..." I walked up to her and gently moved her away. "What is it?" Rainbow Dash and Derpy walked up a little closer. "It is Mercury." I pulled the broken tube out of the fighter and dumped the rest of the Mercury on the ground. I threw the tube over by the door on the other side of the fighter. "It is very dangerous. It can be absorbed into your skin and once it gets in; you can't get it out." I pick up the other broken half and toss it next to the door with the other. "That doesn't sound bad." Rainbow Dash raised an eyebrow. "It can kill you..." I shook my head. "It has a nag on killing brain cells. If your body doesn't repel the Mercury; if just one gram of it made it to your brain. It would kill off about 89% of your brain cells." I started to pull the other three tubes out. "Why would you have something like that on your fighter?" Twilight asked. "Mercury moving at, or close to the speed of light gives anti gravitational properties." I grabbed the rest of the tubes and slowly took them to the side of the fighter. "It makes for good Inertial Dampeners, but this is an old fighter. The newer models are much more advanced." "I'm sorry Jacob. I didn't know." I looked over at Derpy as she was still crying. "It's okay." I bent down in front of her. "All of the dampeners are actually broken. I only took them out to try and fix them." I gave Derpy a smile. "Besides I only need two tubes for it to work and I still have five." I put my hand on her head and ruffled her main. "Cheer up okay?" "Okay!" Derpy quickly hugged me. "Come on Derpy. I have to get back to work." I watched as she let me go. "All of you are going to have to stay away from the fighter for now. I don't want you stepping in the Mercury." I watched as Rainbow Dash and Derpy walked over to Twilight and sat next to her. I walked over to my teleporter and gently pulled the pins out of the floor. I gently picked it up and placed it on the edge of the doorway. I put the pins back in the floor and hopped out of the fighter. I gently picked up the teleporter and walked it in front of the fighter. As I walked back towards the back of the fight. I glanced at the three as they watched me. I walked to the back and pulled the bent door pin. I tossed it behind me and looked at Twilight. "Get ready Twilight. I will need your help in a second." I looked on the ground for the blown pins. I quickly found the four and walked over to the door. I placed two on each side while I left the middle one out. I kicked the broken tubes away from my work area and grabbed the door. "Alright Twilight. We need to put the door back on." I watched as the door started to glow purple. "Got it." I slowly lifted the door above my head. It was heavier than last time. I looked at Twilight. It looked like she was still exhausted from the first time. I quickly moved towards the rear of the fighter. "Lower it at a 45 degree angle" I watched as she started to tilt the door as I stabilized it. I quickly kicked the four pins back in. "Computer! Lock the rear pins!" As I heard the pins locking. I let go of the door and turned to Twilight. "You can rest now." "Good!" Twilight quickly collapsed and rested her head on her hooves. "Wait here for a second." I quickly hopped inside the fighter. I sat down in the cockpit and closed the rear door. I slowly powered the engines and I slowly bring the fighter into a hover. I moved the fighter about 10 feet away from the crash site. I gently land it and opened the rear door. "That was awesome!" Rainbow Dash and Derpy ran up to the door as it opened. "How did you do that!?" Rainbow Dash yelled. "It's supposed to fly." I raised an eyebrow while I walked out the door. "Twilight! Let's go for the test flight!" I watched as she quickly stood up. "You too Derpy." I smiled. "So how fast can this thing go?" Rainbow Dash asked as she looked around. "Faster than anything you have ever seen in your life." I gave her a smile. "Is that a challenge!?" Rainbow Dash quickly took a defensive stance. "What? No..." I raised an eyebrow. "Why would it be?" "You want to race!?" Rainbow Dash quickly put her wings up. "Why would I want to race?" "What are you!? Chicken?" Rainbow Dash smirked. "So you want to race that bad?" I crossed my arms. "So be it; where do you want to race too?" I watched as Rainbow Dash looked around. "How about you pick to where we race too." Rainbow Dash smiled. "Alright..." I looked around and see a large mountain with a large city built on it. I pointed to the city. "How about we race to that city and back here." I smiled "You want to race to Canterlot then back here?" Rainbow Dash raised an eyebrow. "Hey! You wanted to race. Might as well make it good!" I smiled at Rainbow Dash. "Are you chickening out?" "What!? No way! I am ready when you are!" Rainbow Dash smiled. "Okay. I need to get Twilight and Derpy inside. I will give you a head start, so you can go now." I motioned Twilight and Derpy inside. "But that's not fair..." Rainbow Dash cocked her head. "Why would you be giving me a head start?" "You better get going!" I walked Twilight and Derpy to the cockpit. "I am getting ready to fly off, so hurry up and go!" I watched as Rainbow Dash quickly flew off. "I think you are underestimating Rainbow Dash." Twilight smiled as I closed the rear hatch. "She is the best flyer in all of Ponyville." "I think it is I who you are underestimating." I picked Derpy up and placed her in the seat on the right. "Hold on tight Derpy. You are going to get the rush of a lifetime." I turned to Twilight. "Your next Twilight; come here." Twilight walked up to me and I picked her up. I gently placed her in my seat. I made sure they both were sitting comfortably. "Were are you going to sit Jacob?" Twilight looked at me as I stood between them. "I think I will be fine if I stand. I can use your chairs to hold myself in place." I smiled at them both. "Are you two ready?" "I sure am!" Derpy smiled while clapping her hooves together. "I am ready." Twilight gave me an excited smile. "Computer. Disable all dash controls and only listen to my voice." A small noise pinged when the dash locked in place. "Computer. Slowly ascend to an altitude of 150 feet." We all watched as we took off from the ground. "This is amazing Jacob! This is much better than our hot air balloon!" Twilight got excited. "Computer. Show altitude and speed in meters per second." I watched as a screen popped up on the window. "What is that Jacob?" Derpy pointed at the screen on the window. "That will update us on our progress. It is going to tell us everything that is happening to the fighter as we fly." I put my hand on Derpy's head. "It will be fun, so let's watch." "Okay!" Derpy smiled as she put her hoof in the air. "Computer. Scan my friends muscle mass and tell me how many G's they can stand." I looked up at the results. "2.56! That's not bad. You ponies are very strong, but it's not as high as I can handle." I smiled. "Computer. Show me a maximum that they can handle for 5 seconds." I watch as the computer did the calculations. "Now we are getting somewhere. We can launch at 5.93 G's. You two might want to hold on." "Okay!" Derpy pushed back against the chair. "Is it going to be bad Jacob?" Twilight gave me a worried look. "Nope. You will love it; I promise." I gave them both a smile. "Computer. Scan the air for a life sign similar to the two that are in the chairs." I watched as the radar scan showed a small blimp 6 miles out. "You are right. Rainbow Dash is fast, but not fast enough." "What do you mean Jacob?" Twilight gave me a funny look as I smiled at her. "Computer. Accelerate to 200 meters per second. On takeoff; don't go faster than 5 G's. Bring me right behind that life sign." I quickly braced for acceleration. A massive force pulled me back as we took off in a massive boost of speed. I laughed as Twilight and Derpy yelled while being thrown back in their seats. "Whooooo!" Derpy yelled while throwing up her hooves. "This is so much fun!" "What is this Jacob!" Twilight yelled while trying to push herself away from the chair. "Calm down Twilight. I don't want you to black out..." I laughed as she continued to try her best to push herself out from the chair. The pulling force quickly slowed down. I few seconds later; we started to slow down. "Looks like we caught up to Rainbow Dash." I waved as she looked back at us. I laughed as she gave me the most confused look. "How fast can you go Jacob?" Twilight looked at me in amazement. "Go faster Jacob!" Derpy yelled. "Faster!" "I don't know how fast it can go." I looked back at Rainbow Dash. Suddenly a large rainbow exploded from behind her. "A Sonic Rainboom!" Derpy yelled while throwing up her hooves. "Super Sonic? Nice; I never knew something so small can have so much energy." I looked at the radar. "So you did underestimate Rainbow Dash?" Twilight sighed. "Can you win now?" "You don't know the half of it." I smiled. "Computer. Slowly accelerate to 3,432 meters per second. Don't surpass 2 G's and continue to use active scanning. I don't even want you to hit a bug while we fly. While you are at it; bring up power consumption." I watched as a power consumption bar pulled up in the middle of the screen. We quickly started to accelerate. It wasn't as fast as the first time, but it was fast enough to excite both Twilight and Derpy. I watched as the speed quickly climbed to 344 Meters per second. The fighter violently shook for a couple of seconds. "What was that!" Twilight yelled in panic. "It's nothing to worry about Twilight." I watched at the speed breached 500. "Derpy said something about a Sonic Rainboom? It is called something else were I am from. Rainbow Dash simply hit Super Sonic speeds." I looked as the speed passed 700. "When we passed 344 meters per second; we also hit the speed of sound." "So how fast is 3,432? Why would you set it that high?" Twilight pointed at the radar. "If that dot is Rainbow Dash; we will catch up to her in no time." "The 3,432 is ten times faster than the speed of sound. I honestly thing we will be turning before we even hit that speed, but might as well try." I smiled. A rainbow streak was quickly visible. As soon as we saw it; it quickly vanished. I looked down at the speed and saw we passed 1,600. The mountain was coming up on us very fast. "Computer. Cut the speed down to 1,200 and  turn around the mountain." "This is the best Jacob!" Derpy smiled. "Can we do it again!?" "Maybe. Let's just make sure my fighter is okay to fly." I smiled. "You mean this thing is not suppose to fly!?" Twilight started to panic. "Well... I did crash it when I avoided hitting Derpy." I watched as we quickly turned around the mountain. "It might have been best to inspect it before flying." I laughed. "I think we will be fine." "Are you sure?" Twilight asked. "Yep." I looked out the window and pointed. "There is Rainbow Dash." I laughed. "Hi Rainbow Dash!" Derpy yelled. "Bye Rainbow Dash!" She said as we quickly passed her. About a minute has passed and the finish point was coming up quick. I looked at the computer screen and saw nothing out of the ordinary. "Computer. Slow down and land where we took off." We started to slow down. I watched as Derpy and Twilight put their hooves on the dash, so they wouldn't fall out of the chair. We slowly came up on our goal and the fighter started to land. "Computer. Unlock the controls and open the rear hatch." I watched as Twilight and Derpy jumped out of their chairs in excitement. I walk towards the door, but Twilight and Derpy quickly ran in front of me. I walked out of the fighter and closed the door. "Where are you going to stay tonight Jacob?" Twilight smiled. "I was thinking of sleeping in my fighter toni..." Twilight interrupted. "Nope! That won't do..." Twilight smiled. "I have a bed ready at my house. You can sleep at my house tonight. It will be just like a sleepover!" "I guess that sound fine with me." I looked at the sun as it started to set. I then looked off in the distance and see Rainbow Dash heading towards us. "Look who it is." I smiled and watched Rainbow Dash land. "How did you go so fast!?" Rainbow Dash quickly ran up to me. "My fighter has a lot of power." I smiled. "I was impressed about your Sonic Rainboom. It was cool." I continued to smiled. "You mean it!" Rainbow Dash smiled. "Yeah. I have never seen anything like it before." I watched Derpy as she quickly walked up next to me. "Can we do that again Jacob?" Derpy smiled. "It was so much fun!" "Actually I am getting a little tired." I looked at Twilight "Do you think we can go Twilight?" "Okay, but what about your stuff?" Twilight pointed her hoof to the teleporter. "It will be fine. It is waterproof." I smiled. "Okay then." Twilight smiled. "Let's go; we can continue tomorrow." As I followed Twilight; I could only wonder how tomorrow was going to play out. After all this world is very strange. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2. The Fall of Atlantis. The First Bombs //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2. The Fall of Atlantis. The First Bombs Chapter 2 The Fall of Atlantis. The First Bombs I quickly woke up from my short sleep. I grabbed my head as I heard a ringing. My eyes quickly adjusted to the dark room. I looked to the door, as two ponies in armor where standing guard. Something was wrong when I was sleeping. It felt like someone was in my head probing for information. It was a weird feeling. I push the blanket off of me. I slide over and got up from the bed. I made my way to the door. As I tried to open the door. The guards stopped me. "We are instructed to keep an eye on you. You are not allowed to leave this room." "Excuse me?" I said while bringing my hand back from the door. "You are not allowed to leave this room." The guard tried to intimidate me with his looks. "Look buddy. All I want to do is to get some fresh air. That is all... If it makes you feel any better. You can go outside with me." I tried to reason with them. "You are not leaving." The guard pointed. "You have a window over there. You can get all the fresh air you need from that." I turned to look at the window. I make my way over slowly. I see that I am on the first floor. I opened the window and thought. Could it be this easy? I have only seen two guards by the door. They might have more around outside. I had to take my chances. A small room like this. I might hurt the bandaged pony over there. I knew I had to be quick. I took a deep breath and relaxed. I exhaled and looked back at the guards. I gave them a smile as they looked at me. I looked back at the window and slowly placed my hands edge. I quickly jump up; placing both of my feet on the windowsill. I leaned forward and pushed off with my legs. I quickly turn my head to a loud cracking noise. It was then I realized. I put way too much force behind my jump. The windowsill snapped in half; sending me into the bushes. I got up as quick as I could and ran off as fast as I could. I heard yelling behind me. I turned to look and I saw three of them were pursuing me. I was impressed that they were able to fly as fast as they did with that armor, but I was still pulling away slowly. I knew I had to find a place to hide quickly. I didn't get any sleep. On top of that; I was still exhausted when that purple glow surrounded my arms and legs. I continued to look around to find a hiding spot, as I ran around. I looked back as I ran and saw they were gaining on me. I decided to make my way to an open spot. I found an open area and stopped running. They quickly surrounded me on 3 sides. They pointed their spears at my head. The spears where about 3 feet away from me. I slowly brought my hands up towards my head. "You are under arrest! Don't move!" The guard behind me said. "Are you sure you want to go down this road?" I continued to bring my hands closer to my head. The guards also came closer with the spears. "Silence! Prisoners are not allowed to talk." They continued to move in closer. "I am not a prisoner is I am not caught yet..." The guards started to laugh. "You are caught! You have no place to go... Now get on the ground!" By now there weapons where about five inches from my head. I start to tense my muscles so they would be ready for a quick reaction. I took another deep breath and looked to my right then my left. I quickly grabbed the metal part that connected the spear to the stick. I swung both sticks down while bending the metal upwards. Both spear tips broke off as the guard in front of me lunged his spear. I brought my leg up to kick his spear. I was hoping no knock it out of his grasp, but my legs where too weak at this point. I quickly charge the guard with the spear. "Enough!" A deafening tone echoed throat the town. All four of us stopped and looked at the situation we were in. I was standing in front of the guard on his right side. With one spear tip an inch away from his throat. The other two guards had their broken sticks pointed at my back. "What is going on here!?" I looked to see a deep blue horse landing a couple of feet away from us. "Tell me!" She yelled in a deafening roar. "P-Princess Luna. We were chasing after this prisoner. Then he attacked us as you just saw." "Explain." She turned to me. I dropped my weapons as I turned to her. I had to think quickly, or I am going to be in a lot of trouble. "Hello Princess Luna. My name is Jacob. I was resting in the hospital. I awoke with a strange feeling. I simply wanted to go out on a nightly jog for the fresh air. Then these guards chased me down. I was only acting in self defense. Nothing more." I awaited for a response. "Princess he is lying! We told him he was not allowed to leave the room and he did anyway." The guard fired back in his defense. "Princess. At no point was I told that I was a prisoner. They were simply blocking my path and I denied the request he gave me. They told me they were only going to keep an eye on me. I offered them to walk with me and they denied my invitation." I looked at the guard as Luna did also. "But... He attacked us." The guard was clearly panicking. "I attacked only in self defense. I was unarmed and was not a threat until they had weapons in my face." "Leave him." Luna said to the guards. "Yes Princess." The three guards picked up what was left of their weapons and flew back in the direction of the hospital. "Jacob. I am going to ask you to follow me to the hospital." Princess Luna started to walk. "Alright." I started to walk beside the Princess. "Can I be so bold to ask why?" "My sister and I have questions. Questions that only you can answer." "Fair enough. I am guessing your sister is Princess Celestia?" I asked "Indeed." Luna smiled. "So what can I expect for tomorrow? I am not going to have any problems with the incident I just had am I?" I waited for an answer. "No. You will be fine." "That's a relief." I walked in front of Princess Luna to open the door. "After you." I watched as she went in. "Am I still going to be under guard?" "I will fix that now." Luna turned to the guards in the lobby. "Jacob is not a prisoner. You are to stand guard outside of his room. Make sure no one enters to harm him. If he has a request; you will follow it with no questions asked." The princess said firmly. "Do you understand?..." "Y-Yes Princess Luna." The guards said simultaneously. "Now Jacob." She turned to me. "Have a good night sleep. I will help you with your memories tomorrow." When she said that. Something clicked. "That was you when I was sleeping." "Yes." She nodded. "Please don't do that again." I tried to say with respect. "As you wish. I will wait for you to be ready." I watched as the Princess walked out of the hospital. "Well fellas. I had a nice workout. I hope you did too. I am going to go to sleep. Be sure you do the same." I gave them a smile. "Yes sir." I was surprised they responded to that. I walked into room two and looked at the window. I walked to the window and tried to shut it, but It was too damaged to shut. "Well that's just great..." I looked over to the bandaged pony. "Sorry about the cold air. Next time I am going to have to think things through." I walked over to my bed and grab the blanket. "Sorry for waking you up so late." I walk over to the pony and spread my blanket over it. "Let's try to get some sleep now shall we?" I make my way back in my bad and curled up to go to sleep. "Jacob. Hey Jacob... Wake up." I heard a familiar voice say. "Wake up..." I felt a poking in my back. "Ya... I'm up..." I open my eyes to see Derpy looking right into my eyes. "Good morning Derpy. What brings you to my cozy bed?" "I just came to say good morning!" Derpy gave me a big smile. "Where is your blanket Jacob?" Derpy cocked her head. "Well I had a problem last night, so I gave my buddy over there my blanket." I pointed to the pony in the bed across the room. I could tell he was smiling underneath his bandages. "Well that was kind of you." She gave me another smile. "So Derpy... You hungry? I know I am." I gave her a smile. "Am I!? I sure am!" She jumped around in circles. "I am hungry too. What would you like?" "Muffins!" She was quick to reply. "That sounds good. Hold on a second." Derpy quickly grabbed my arm. "What are you doing?" "You said to hold on. So I am holding on to you." She smiled. "Why don't you sit on the bed. I will get someone to bring us some muffins." Derpy quickly got off my arm and laid down on my bed. "One second." I walk over to the door and open it. "Excuse me... Guard... Me and my friends are getting a little hungry. Can you get us ten muffins please." "Yes sir!" I watch him as he walked off. "Alright Derpy. The muffins are on the way." I look at my roommate. "I will be saving some for you too." "Muffins!" Derpy yelled as I laughed. "I hope the guard hurries. Luna might be here any second now. So Derpy. how are you today?" "I am fine! Never better!" She flaps her wings and smiled. I walked over to what was left of the window. I watch as the guard was quickly flying back to the hospital. Shortly after I heard a knock on the door. "Come in!" I watched as the door opened. "Your muffins sir." "Muffins!" Derpy quickly jumped off the bed and rushed the guard. She was too fast for the guard. Derpy was on the bed again, before the guard realized the bag wasn't in his grip. "One for you!" Derpy placed a muffin on the desk for the bandaged pony. "And one for you Jacob!" Derpy tossed me a muffin. "And the rest for me!" Derpy smiled and flapped her wings. "Thanks Derpy." I laughed and took a bite of the muffin. I looked at the door as it opened. "Morning Princess Celestia." "Good morning Jacob." I watched as Luna shortly followed "Good morning Princess Luna." I gave her a smile. "Good morning Jacob. Are you ready?" "Yes. What would you like me to do?" I asked "I need you to lay down and relax." "Okay." I walked to the bed. "Hey Derpy. Can I have my bed back?" I watched as she was eating a muffin. She quickly hopped off the bed. "Thanks Derpy." I gave her a smile and laid on the bed. "Ready when you are." "Now close your eyes Jacob." I closed my eyes. "Relax." I felt a sharp pain on my forehead and I went limp. I awoke gasping for air. I looked around the room. As I found nothing out of the ordinary. I got up out of bed. I get dressed and make my way out in the hall. "Jacob!" I turn to the voice. "Hey Siphonei." I gave her a smile. "Can you get me into the hanger today? My contact in the military got his hands on a fighter for me." "Ya. Most of the military are up in the northern sector of the city. They are going to watch the Ascension Project take off. Are you going to go?" "I hope so... I got up early just to finish my work. At the very least I can watch it from the hanger right?" I rubbed the back of my neck. "I hear a lot from Atlantis Special Forces. This is something that no one should miss." She smiled. "I know. I hear the same thing." I raise my right hand. "Why don't you walk with me. I am going to the hanger now." "Alright." She nodded. "So you have your ear to the ground. Tell me what you know about our new alien friends." I asked. "Well I don't have all of the details, but they say they want to give us there knowledge. I would assume we are getting some more trade partners." Siphonei smiled. "It's a little odd. Have they sent out a messenger party yet?" "No. They are keeping a tight group together. The only reason out military sees them as no threat. Is because they sent us a message. They told us everything about the fleet they travel in and why they are here." "So why are they coming here?" I asked. "I was told they wanted to exchange knowledge. That's it." "I would love to see what they can offer us. I know they will love the stuff we have here. The culture, our history and our wealth. It's a lot to take in." I smiled as the intercom system interrupted. "Launching of the Ascension Project will commence in thirty minutes." "Well I don't think I am going to make it." I said. "It's alright. Like you said. You are going to have a clear view from the hanger right?" "Ya, but I wanted to see it up close." I watched as Siphonei opened the entrance to the hanger for me. "Thanks. I am going to be getting this done today. So this will be the last time." Siphonei followed me in the hanger and walked up to my fighter. "So Jacob... What is your plan for this?" Siphonei ran her hand across the hull as she walked around my ship. "The council has banned you from making your teleporter, so why disobey them?" "Because I believe that this will help us in our next stage of evolution. Not only that, but the new engine I made. It is for insurance. I made it so only I would know how to rebuild it." I smiled. "If they throw me in prison. They will never find out how to make my dark matter engine." "That is very narrow minded Jacob..." Siphonei looked at me as my stomach growled. "Are you hungry?" "Ya." I put my hand over my stomach. "I guess I was in a hurry this morning, so I skipped getting food." "I will go get you something to eat." She smiled. "Oh! Better yet! They have a lot of food for the party up north. I can get you some good food for the launching party." "That would be nice, but you will miss the launch." I put my hand over the DNA scanner to open the rear hatch of the fighter. "That's alright. I can watch it with you here." Siphonei quickly rushed out. I watched Siphonei run out of the hanger. I has to inspect the ship today. I was going to do my first test flight. I first started by walking around the outside of the ship. I inspected every scratch and chip of paint. I then had to inspect the outside of the glass. The last thing i needed was a crack in the window. This was an outdated model as it is. As i finished my inspection on the outside. The intercom blared loud. "Launching of the Ascension Project will commence in ten minutes." I quickly ran into the fighter and closed the rear hatch. I made my way to the cockpit. "Computer. Scan the hull for any breach. Also run tests on the engine. I need to know if the power output in constant." a screen quickly popped up on the window showing the scans progress. I went in the rear compartment to do a once over my teleporter. I inspected the plugs and the power cells. I had to make absolutely sure that it can handle the raw power from the engine. The last thing I needed to do was to form a black hole outside of earth atmosphere. That would ruin my day. I turned to the cockpit as I heard a knocking on the window. It was Siphonei; she had a bag in her hand and she was holding up three fingers. "Hold on." I held my finger up to notion her to hold on. I quickly make my way to the cockpit and look over the scan results. As the scans where okay. I gave Siphonei a thumbs up. I walked back and opened the rear hatch. "Hurry Jacob! We only have two more minutes before the launch!" Siphonei grabbed my hand and pulled me to a ladder. "Ladies first." I motioned he to go first. She smiled and handed me the food. "You better hurry! I don't want to miss anything! If I do I am blaming you!" I follow her up the ladder. "Come on! you don't have to be such a jerk..." She quickly cleared the ladder and made her way on the ledge. I followed quickly behind her. "You know... It not that bad of a day to watch this." I leaned against the guard rails. "Blue skies, no clouds. This planet beats our old one hands down." "You didn't like our home planet?" Siphonei asked while she stood next to me. "Nope. The blue skies here are beautiful. I never liked the red hue our skies had. I bet our sun had a big role in that." "It's only been about a hundred years since we left. Did you get use to this planet that fast?" Siphonei asked in confusion. "Ya. I guess I did. I am not too comfortable with the natives here, but they are letting us stay." I smiled. "All in all it's a great planet and I am glad we found it." "Shh... Something is happening." Siphonei pointed to the north part of the city. "Watch." We watched as the hanger doors opened. They slowly raised up from the ground into the air. "Wow... I have never seen them open this many doors for one ship before." I looked on in amazement. "Do you know how many doors they are opening for the ship?" "They had to open all twenty-four doors on both sides." "What! That means the ship is at least two miles long. How could they keep it a secret as long as they did?..." I asked. "Yep. The ship is a little over two miles long. They had a lot of the northern parts of the city on tight lockdown. Not very many people were allowed to move around freely." "That sounds like hell... I am glad I live in the south." I laughed. Suddenly; the whole city started to shake. Shortly after a loud roaring noise rattled the very core of my body. A massive flame rocketed out of the rear of the hanger. "The engines must be huge to have flames like that!" I yelled as loud as I could to make my voice heard over the roaring thunder of the engine. "That flame has to be shooting a max of three miles in the air!" The roaring and the flames quickly stopped. Then a constant humming started. "The engines sounds like they are running just fine." Siphonei smiled. "You are right about the size. They are massive." The ship slowly started to rise from the hanger. We continued to watch as more became visible. "Damn... Look at the main gun on that beast. What is it? A mass particle accelerator?" "No..." Siphonei laughed. "It's a rail gun. They fit it to fire ten consecutive shots without a reload. It is so massive; they needed a fission reactor just to meet the minimum power requirements for it." Siphonei smiled. "No shields in the galaxy would survive even one blast from that gun..." "That is impressive..." I put my hand up to my chin to think. "It makes me wonder why we need something so powerful in a time of peace." Something out of the corner of my eye got my attention. "Hey Siphonei... What is that?" I pointed at an object falling from the sky. "It looks like a meteorite. This solar system if fairly new and still dirty." Siphonei turned back to watch the ship. I continued to watch the object. Sure enough it was falling like a meteorite would. I continued to watch it. I quickly noticed it starting to angle upward. I backed away from the railing. "Siphonei... Get back down in the hanger." Suddenly the object got a massive boost of speed, as a ploom of fire spit out the back. "Why? What's going on?" Siphonei looked at me confused. "Just go!" I look back at the object as it was seconds away from hitting the Ascension Project. "Siphonei Get down!" I quickly pushed Siphonei down to the ground towards the ladder. I quickly look up and was blinded by a bright red light. An extremely hot heat wave stole the wind out of my lungs. Shortly after a defining explosion shook the city. I covered my eyes as I went blind, as I dropped to the ground. A massive force threw me against the wall of the hanger. I looked out over the city as I laid on the ground. I tried to find the Ascension Project. All I could see was a large mushroom cloud over the north section of the city. The skies turned red, as fires burned all over the city. My vision started to go black again. I could hear a muffled voice calling my name. "Jacob... Jacob crawl over here... hurry..." I look towards the voice. It was Siphonei. "Jacob give me your hand..." She held out her hand as far as she could. An intense burning sensation flooded my body as I tried to give Siphonei my hand. My body quit on me and my world went dark. I quickly opened my eyes and jumped up gasping for breath. I tried to get up, but I fell off the bed. I quickly rolled up on the floor as a large heat wave rushed over my body. "Jacob! Are you alright!?" I look up to see Derpy standing over me. "Ya... Ya Derpy I am fine." I tried to get up from the floor, but my entire body was shaking. "It might be best if you sit on the ground for a little." Luna walked over and forced me to sit on the ground with her hoof. "I can only guess it is going to get worse from here on out, so I won't ask you to do that again." "No its fine. I want to know what happened. I just need some fresh air." I ignored Princess Luna's request for rest. I got up and stumbled to the door as Luna, Celestia and Derpy followed. I used the wall to stabilize myself down the hall. I got to the lobby and i saw Twilight and Rainbow Dash. I saw four other ponies, but I didn't know them. "Jacob! You alright!?" Rainbow Dash jumped up. "Ya... I am fine. I just need some air." I continued to stumble out the door. I sat down in the dirt. I was still breathing heavy. I looked over to see Derpy walk up to me. She sat down with the bag of muffins in her mouth. My body was still shaking while I was sitting down. I have never felt this week before in my life. It almost felt like I was going to die right then and there. I watched Derpy as she sat the bag on the ground. "You can have another muffin if it will make you feel better." I watched as Derpy slid the bag closer to me with her hoof. "I saw how happy you where when you had your first muffin." I looked up to see Derpy's big smile. "No thanks Derpy. Those are your muffins." I gave her a smile. I watched as she got in the bag. She placed one muffin on my lap. "I insist. Muffins will make any pony happy." Derpy nodded. "You are no acceptation." Derpy smiled again. "Thanks Derpy." I looked at the door as it opened. I saw Luna and Celestia walk out. "Are you alright Jacob?" Princess Celestia asked. "Ya I am fine. Just needed a little fresh air." "So what was that massive fireball over your city?" Luna asked. "It was a planet buster and a small one at that..." I looked at Luna as she gave me a confused look. "I'm sorry; It was an Anti-matter bomb." "What is that?" Celestia asked. "It is when you have two atoms. The one atom is oxygen. The second atom is anti-oxygen. When the two atoms touch each other. It creates a massive explosion." I moved my arms around as the shaking stopped. "The one that hit the ship was small. I don't think it was designed to destroy the planet. Just that ship." "I have a question. You talked about your home world in your dream. You left your planet about a hundred years ago. How old are you?" Luna asked. "That's a good question. I lost count." I tried to remember how much time has passed. "I would guess I am 122 years old." "How long can your kind live?" Celestia asked. "Well our average life span is 853 years old, but the oldest was 988 when he died." I smiled. "He was lucky. He had a good life. I laid down on the ground and watched the sky "Give me a minute. I will be ready soon." I smiled at Luna. "Take the all the time you need." Luna smiled
