The Moon Lends a Hand
Chapter 1
Load Full StoryNext ChapterMy name is Emily, I know how I got here, but I thought it was a dream, a foolish stupid dream. No one dreams of Luna in their sleep and has her offer you something, usually she is just there to say hello. Stupid cartoon was so wrong. I guess I should explain.
I was in my room sleeping, and Luna appeared in my dream world “Dost thou wish to go to Equestria?”, she asked, “Yes” I said. I thought it was a dream, so of course I would say yes. I quickly asked if I could be a unicorn as well. She replied with the regal voice, just like Tabitha St Germain does for her on the show. “I’m afraid I cannot do that for you at this time, my child. But, perhaps some day. I shall”
She said she was sending me to Ponyville, as a human until I got used to the magic.
I didn’t understand, this was my dream wasn't it? Shouldn’t I be allowed to be a unicorn if I so choose? She smiled at me and her horn glowed a light blue, it somehow woke me from my sleep, and I felt cheated out of a dream, but it was still night time, why was I awake? I noticed that I was glowing the same light blue color as her horn, and could still see her smiling face. I thought it was still a dream, until I felt pain, I was teleported on my butt onto a stone floor. This wasn't ponyville, it was a cave, a green cave...I pinched myself , but I didn't wake up, this wasn't a dream, and I wasn't in ponyville, and something tells me we aren't in kansas anymore, Toto.

After getting up from the floor, I walked deeper into the green cave to see what's in there. I soon found some cocoons, small green cocoon butterfly things , I didn't know that those existed in caves, I stopped looking at it and walked deeper, the cocoons started getting bigger and I could see animals inside. Ponies, by the look of them being changed.
This was a changeling hive, if I went any further i would probably end up in the main rooms or something, I heard buzzing, so I started to slowly walk backwards, turning around to go to the entrance, and came face to face with the changeling queen.
“What are you doing in my hive, little love monster?” She hissed at me, I did the only thing I would do in the face of an angry person.
I yelled at her “Hey! Queen Bee! Suck on this!" I punched her and when she put her holed hoof up to her nose I bit into her neck hard enough to draw blood and ran towards the entrance to the cave, hearing so much buzzing behind me, apparently the queen bee had called her little cronies to do the work she so obviously was afraid to do after I bit her.
“WORTH IT!” I yelled as I ran towards the mouth of the death trap of a cave.
I finally reached the mouth of the cave, those horrible black bugs still chasing me. The light was almost blinding, with the bright sun of the day streaming in, could have sworn it was night before. As I got outside, I heard a rough male voice in the distance, “Hang on kid! Cavalry's here!”
My vision cleared , and sprinting towards me with what looked like a huge set of brass knuckles on his right hand. The weirdest part was that it was covered in little spikes and it looked like lightning bolts dancing over them. As we got closer I realized he was going to pass by me. His eyes seem to be looking at something behind me. The was a rush of wind as he passed by. He also could have used a shower. A moment later there was a grunt, the impact of a fist onto leather, and a zap-crackle of electrical discharge. This was followed by a second impact, a third, a fourth, until I lost count.
While I kept running I could still hear the man say, “Alright. You know the deal made at the Wedding Accords. Celestia tolerates you lot on the one condition you stay away from her citizens. You know who I am, what you didn’t know is that young lady is my daughter. I’ll let it slide because you you weren’t warned ahead of time.”
There was some buzzing and incomprehensible hissing. “Now, I’m turning around, and walking away. Come on, sweetie, let’s go home.” he then whispers sharply, “I’m a friend, play along, everything will be okay.”
He actually thinks i'm going with him? No chance of that happening.
I frowned and moved away from him “Why should I trust you? I can take care of myself, dude.”
He gave me a hard stare, “Come on, dear. We don’t want to keep the nice changelings out in the hot sun.”
“I would love to see them burn like the bugs they are actually, if they can't be out in the sun, would be funny”
“Fu... “ he turned his head, “Dash! A little help, please! Come and get your daughter.”
Bursting from the undergrowth at the tree line was a rainbow blur. I felt the impact and sudden acceleration, but I was surprised I wasn’t hurt.
“Married to a pony? Thats is like, everyone’s fucking dream come true.” I said sarcastically
“Damn right it is kid. Especially to the one and only Rainbow Dash.”
“Just as modest as in the show-” I was about to say ‘apparently’, before I got interrupted by Dash
“Ugh, what is it with you humans and that stupid show?”
“Its the only thing that makes depressed people happy and not kill themselves.” I said.
To my surprise, she mumbled an apology, “Hey, sorry. I didn’t mean anything. It’s just... we’ll talk about it later.” I’m not sure, but I think she just hugged me.
She lets me up and I have the choice to either stay here and attack the changelings again or go with them and hopefully trust them. I decided to trust them, at least until I knew what the hell was going on.
As we arrived back at the treeline I could see two ponies. Twilight’s hair style was easy to spot, but the other one, no clue. Must be an OC. This will be fun.
"Hello bookworm.”
“Whoa there, kid. You’ll be respectful. This is Twilight Sparkle, and this is our resident expert on changelings as well as being a good friend, Emerald-”
“Doctor Emerald, thank you.” The green pony muttered before Twilight shot him a smirk..
“Of course, Doctor Emerald, and you already met my wife, Rainbow Dash.”
“I know, cloppity clop clop brony. The show told me everything.”
“First bit of advice, forget that show. Second bit of advice, don’t piss off the few people that want to help.” He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Look, we’re all friends here. Lets get the hell out of here before they start looking up the Wedding Accords.”
Twilight, looking a little panicked, “You lied to them?” She looked at Emerald, even more panicked, “What if they find out?!?”
Emerald cocked an eyebrow. “I question your wisdom in this situation, Alex. Can you please elaborate on your reasoning?”
“I wanted to spout something official sounding, and you know damn well there was never any formal treaty signed. Look, they’re so afraid of Celestia and Luna they’re not going to call us on it. Anyway, their queen wasn’t there, just drones. Still, let’s get the buck out of here...”
Emerald nodded. “Yes, with haste.” He said with serious intent, maybe some fear.
“Emerald’s right guys. We may have just pissed Chrysalis off. Let’s go. Now.”
“In that case let me lead you out. I know these lands from...studying maps and old texts-” Emerald was suddenly interrupted.
“Shit! Where the hell did the kid go?!?”
I walked out from behind a tree in front of them “I wasn't listening to your rambling crap, I was busy starting to walk through the everfree before you freaked out over nothing, I could hear you from like, ten feet away.”
He pointed a finger at me, and he looked pissed, “Don’t do that again.” He face palmed, “God, I thought Scoots was bad.”
There was a sudden snap crack and the weirdest flash, almost like the light was black. A scroll with a black and blue seal landed on the ground at the guys feet, I wasn't so lucky, something fell on my head, and onto the grass, it was my black backpack. I picked it up and put it on my back. No one asked what it was for, so I said nothing.
That guy, I guess he’s called Alex, grabbed the scroll, but didn’t open it. “Guys, lets make a run for it, we can read this stuff later.” I was already gone again, walking ahead to go to ponyville, not caring if they were following or not.
