Hoofsteps echoed through the Underground Equestria spell archives. Almost nopony was allowed in the underground archives. Not even Princess Cadence. Twilight was the only citizen in Equestria to be allowed in the archives. "Thanks for letting me study these spells. I've been curious about the spells about time travel ever since the time travel incident."
"You're very welcome, Twilight Sparkle. You should feel very lucky to be down here. I don't even allow my sister to be in the archives." Twilight remembered the first time she came to Ponyville. When Nightmare Moon kidnapped the princess and attempted to send Equestria into eternal night.
"I can see why..." Twilight said, slightly chuckling.
"It's not just that. Most of the spells in the archives are kept very secret, just so they don't fall into the wrong hooves. Some of these spells can cause massive destruction and chaos. But, I can trust you, because i am sure that you wont use any of these spells for bad or selfish reasons." Twilight cracked a smile.
"I promise I wont use any of these spells for that. And I'll be careful with these scrolls, too." Twilight had not yet seen the archives. It was still down the halls. "So, how big is this archive?" All Princess Celestia did was grin. And Twilight took that as a 'huge'. 'It couldn't be that big' Twilight thought. That many spells couldn't have been enough spells for an archive to be 'huge'. Then again, Twilight only inferred so because Princess Celestia only grinned. Nothing else. They approached the archives and the shelves of scrolls seemed to stretch on forever. Every single one sorted alphabetically, and they all appeared to have never been touched. "Whoa. This place is huge! Have any of the scrolls even been touched?" Twilight almost fainted at the sight of so many spells created.
"Only a few times. They have been handled with a very large amount of care." Princess Celestia said, levitating a large scroll over to Twilight. "Any type of spell you want to learn about, you can find it in here. That's your index for the archive." Twilight opened the scroll with care, and it seemed like if you were to lay the scroll down flat, it would be as long as at least a mile.
"So, if you don't even let your sister down here, how can you trust me this much? I mean, you can't trust me that much, right?" Twilight's eyebrows shifted, giving her a confused look. Celestia chuckled.
"You'll understand one day." Princess Celestia walked off back into the halls. Twilight looked back at the scroll, and opened it, leaving the circles of paper at both ends.
"So... Time travel." Twilight scrolled down the paper. 'A,' she said aloud. She kept scrolling. 'A, A, B! Oh, no. A-A-B"
Twilight stood in the library, scroll opened at 'Time Travel'.The writing wasn't even in English. It was in a language designed for unicorns. She bit her lip, and begun casting the spell. This one was complicated. "Well, here it goes." Twilight continued casting the spell, which was hard to preform. Too complicated even for her. A clear white aura began glowing around her. She moved her eyes around sporadically. It just got brighter and brighter, more translucent by the second. She had to concentrate. No distractions or interruptions-
"Twi?" Spike ran down the stairs. All of the sudden, there was a white flash and a high pitched- SHEIIING. At took a minute for their eyes to adjust. When they could see, surprisingly, everything was fine. White flash, loud noise, and not a single thing even moved an inch. Twilight turned around.
"What just happened..." She kept looking around. Spike just stood there. wide eyes, gaping mouth.
"I was just about to ask you the same thing..." Twilight walked outside, seeing if everything was fine. It was. No space, no other location, Rainbow Dash controlling the clouds. No other time. Not too far at least.
"Hey, Rainbow!" Rainbow Dash looked down, floating there for a second, longer than usual. She swooped down.
"So, you heard of me huh? Am I that famous yet?" Twilight looked at Rainbow, confused. "You alright?"
"So... You don't know me." Twilight said, raising her eyebrows.
"I thought I would be the one to ask that." Same ponies for sure.
"What day is it? To the exact month day and year." Twilight looked back at Spike, probably more confused than her.
"It's October tenth. 2010."
"Uh-oh." Twilight and spike blurted, with a large worried tone.
"We went back in time..." Twilight looked back at Spike, who was blinking rapidly, looking around like a maniac, sweating, and about to faint. Twilight looked back at Rainbow. No, Rainbows? "And it's not just us."
"Twi? What the hay is going on? One second, I'm having a manic- I mean a race, and another, I'm in my house, without a single Daring Do book!" Rainbow flew past herself, staring at Twilight with an angry, and serious face.
"So, who's this good looking one?" Past Dash grinned and raised an eyebrow. Rainbow turned around looking at herself.
"Okay, Twi! What's going on? Did you clone me or something?" Rainbow's face more angry and confused.
"Your name's Twi? Never heard of it before! I'm Rainbow Dash."
"Hold on- Did you say something about time travel earlier?" Rainbow was now worried more than angry.
"Uh, yeah. Long story short, spell went wrong, I think we time traveled. And not just us." Rainbow looked back at herself, then Spike, and then... the extra tree...
"Uh, Twi? Look behind you." There were now two trees. Two libraries, and now, somewhere, another Twilight. Twilight looked back at Past Dash.
"Before now, have you seen me, or anypony that looks a bit like me?" Twilight looked around, looking for a past or future version of herself.
"Yeah. I just saw a purple unicorn going over to... What was it? Sweet nimble takers? And she had some lizard friend with her." Twilight looked at spike, then Rainbow dash, no, Dashes.
"I'm going to Sweet apple acres. Wait here." Twilight started galloping off.
"Twilight, wait!" Spike ran after her. Rainbow dash grabbed him and lifted him up.
"C'mon. It's probably best to listen to her right now."
