This story is based on events that occur in ' A Cure For a Toxin'. It is highly recommended to read it first to understand what has happened, but it's not absolutely necessary; the beginning may seem rushed otherwise.

A simple royal visit to fix a seemingly insignificant problem turns out to be more than what a griffin security guard bargains for. When fanatics attack a peaceful science facility, Eadric finds himself fighting for his life, and the lives of the ponies and griffins around him. He intercepts a strike meant for the visiting Princess, but in doing so, sets off a chain of events that may leave him with nothing. The only commonality that he knows, is another who truly knows what it means to be alone and forsaken.
