Even with the strength of Ash, Brock, along with the two Pikachus and Meowths combined, everything seemed hopeless. "We can't stop it!" Brock yelled. "Then I must use what remains of my power," Mewtwo struggled to speak. "Either these machines will be destroyed, or I will be!" Mewtwo gathered all what power he had left, and suddenly screamed vigorously as he focused all of his psychic power into the machines that held him prisoner. He then began to turn a pinkish-red colour. This was not normal, even for Mewtwo. With each passing scream, Mewtwo's body started to spark as electricity coursed all over his body - it was as if he were part of the machine. Even with everything Mewtwo had left, it still seemed to have no effect on the machines. "Hang in there, Mewtwo!" Ash decided that a little encouragement was needed. "Pikachu - both of you - help out with your thunderbolt!" Even with Mewtwo's devastating cries of pain, he could still hear Ash's words of encouragement, along with his 'family'. This now made him more determined than ever. After everything that had happened to him; being created out of a scientific lab, not belonging in this world, running and hiding from everyone and everything in this world. Would the pain ever stop? Mewtwo knew he had to do it. He knew he had to save them from Giovanni's clutches. Both Ash's Pikachu and his clone both stood forward. With a cry, both Pikachus let out an extremely powerful thunderbolt onto one of the machines. With that being done, Mewtwo knew that this was now or never. He took one last push of strength, and poured his entire might of power onto the machines. With the combined power of the electrical thunderbolt caused by the Pikachus and Mewtwo's most powerful psychic attack, a beam of light suddenly burst out of the machine and cast itself onto Mewtwo. He screamed in the most powerful pain imaginable as he was being surrounded not only by the electrical prison, but now by a sudden beam of light that seemed to have been caused by the combined attack of Mewtwo and the Pikachus. Mewtwo's screams suddenly stopped as the beam of light closed around him, blocking him from both human and Pokemon sight. The light then began to cast a very soft electrical static that seemed to be growing louder and louder. "MEWTWO!" Ash screamed. He ran towards Mewtwo, just like he had done before, all those years ago. But this time, there was nothing he could do. With that scream, the light exploded causing Ash to fall back suddenly. The explosion was unlike anything anybody had ever seen. An electrical field blasted out from where Mewtwo was standing, causing its surroundings to shake. Ash became instantly blinded by the sudden explosion. To everyone witnessing the blast, it was just a blur. Then without warning, the explosion sucked into itself and disappeared. Everything happened so quickly, as if it had never happened. Ash's Pikachu was the first to recover. Pikachu gazed up and saw Ash lying unconscious. Pikachu remembered that day. The day he almost lost his friend. He was not going to lose him now. "PIKAA!!!!!" Pikachu's scream alerted Brock and Misty to where Ash was laying. "Oh my god Ash! Are you okay??" Brock leaned down to help Ash pick himself up. He obviously felt concerned for his friend. Fortunately for Pikachu, Ash was not seriously hurt, and regained conscious. "Yeah..... I'm.. I'm fine," Ash weakily said, dusting himself off. "What.... the hell just happened?!" Ash was now in full panic mode. "We're not sure. The blast that came from the machines blinded us too. We couldn't see a thing!" Ash finally stood himself up and observed his surroundings. The weather had suddenly changed from clear blue skies to overcast dark clouds. The air was breezy. Everything was so..... quiet. Ash dazed off for a moment, then suddenly remembered what had just happened to his friend. "Wait, what about Mewtwo?!?!?" Ash looked over to see the machines completely destroyed by the blast. Small parts of the machine were seen in all directions, even in the water. Mewtwo was gone. Giovanni was gone. Team Rocket was gone. Everyone was gone. In the years that past, Mewtwo is remembered as a hero to Ash and his friends. It is remembered that Mewtwo had sacrificed himself and stopped Giovanni and Team Rocket that day. The rest of the cloned Pokemon that Mewtwo had cared for lived in peace and harmony on the top of Mt. Quena, as he had wanted. They were never again bothered by Giovanni or Team Rocket. The cloned Pokemon to this day, remember Mewtwo as their great and valiant protector; their guardian. Forever and always. Little did everyone realize however, Mewtwo was not gone. Not yet. He was alive. Only just. Chapter 1: ArrivalChapter 1: Arrival "Ooooh, today looks like such a beautiful day, doesn't it Spike?" Twilight Sparkle was in a good mood today. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and Twilight had just finished sending her latest report on friendship to Princess Celestia; ruler of the Sun and co-ruler of Equestria, alongside her sister Princess Luna who ruled the night. "It sure is Twilight!" Spike replied, his voice muffled due to the mouthful of bright and colourful rubies he was currently eating. "Today seems like such a great day to be riding in a hot-air balloon!" Twilight and Spike were already high up in the sky, looking over the small but busy town of Ponyville. "It sure does feel good to take a break from all the studying for once in a while," Twilight said. Spike suddenly looked shocked and practically amused at Twilight's remark. "What are you talking about Twilight?!? You're already reading a book right now!!!" "This is different Spike! This is a handy guide book to know all about the safety of riding in a hot-air balloon! If it wasn't for my 'reading' and knowledge of the situation, then we may be all the way in... oh, I don't know... Manehattan by now!" Twilight had the most deadliest, serious look on her face. She was NOT going to lose this argument. "Okay, okay, whatever! Geez! I was only kiddin' anyway," Spike chuckled to himself as he pulled out the last gem out of the picnic basket. "The last gem. I need to save you for later little guy!" Spike kissed the green gem and threw it back into the basket. However, Spike's tongue unwillingly came out of his mouth, wrapped itself around the gem, and then returned back to Spike's mouth. Spike happily chewed his delicious gem, until he realized what he had just done. "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" The balloon shook as Spike raised his hands towards the sky and cursed himself for his terrible deed. "Oh Spike calm down, you've had more than enough gems. You've practically eaten the whole bag!" Spike looked over to the bag and saw what once was an entire pile of all the most delicious and colourful gems you could ask for, that Rarity (yes Rarity) had so kindly donated due to leftover gems from her newly designed dress. Now it was simply an empty picnic basket. But this was more than that to Spike. Spike now looked absolutely miserable. Tears began to form in his eyes. "These were the last possessions that had belonged to Rarity. Now I've just wasted them, and now they are all gone. Why? WHY? WHY?!!!?!??!!?". Spike lowered his head in shame, feeling absolutely sorry for himself. Twilight simply rolled her eyes and put a helping hoof on Spike's back. "Oh don't worry Spike. I think Rarity was expecting you to eat all those gems anyway, and enjoy them!" With this said, Spike slowly raised his head and matched his eyes with Twilight's. Instead of shining with tears, they were now shining with hope. Wiping away tears, Spike sniffled "You really think so?". "Sure! You'll see! Don't you remember when you gave her that one very special ruby of yours on your birthday? I had never seen Rarity so happy as she was that day! I'm sure that you haven't seen the last of Rarity's kindness and generosity." Spike heard the kindness in Twilight's voice, and with that said he raised himself up and gave her a big hug. "Awww thanks Twilight! I needed that!" Spike was now squeezing very tightly around Twilight's neck, causing Twilight to turn very red. Not because she felt embarrassed, but because Spike had closed off her ventilation system. "Spike... can't... breathe," Twilight let out painfully, as Spike suddeny realized what he was doing and released her. "Hehehe, sorry Twilight". "That's... quite alright Spike," Twilight gasped. "Now come on, we'd better head back down to Ponyville. I think everypony is waiting for us!". Spike and Twilight looked over the edge of the balloon to see what looked like to be Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy all standing together in the town square. "Hmmmm, I wonder where Rainbow Dash is?..." "What did I say? TEN. SECONDS. FLAT!" As Rainbow Dash had just finished showing off her awesome cloud-clearing skills to a couple of small pegasus fillies in a clearing, she suddenly remembered she was supposed to meet all of her friends at the Ponyville town square today. Quick as a flash, Rainbow Dash waved goodbye to the small fillies and set off like a rocket towards Ponyville. Rainbow Dash looked over towards Ponyville and saw Twilight and Spike riding up high in a hot-air balloon. She gasped in absolute terror and immediately change course towards the balloon. It wasn't the balloon that terrified her, it was what was above it. As Twilight and Spike made their descent down towards Ponyville, a sudden sound of thunder came from above them. "Hmmm that's strange, the weather isn't forecast for a storm today," Twilight curiously said, gazing up at the sky above her. "Yeah that does seem strange. Maybe the weather ponies decided to make up for bad time from last wee -" Spike's emotions suddenly turned shocked as he saw Twilight's stunned and terrified facial expression looking above. "Uhhh Twilight? Are... are you ok?" Spike was now fully concerned. "L- l -look!" Twilight gasped. Spike now looked up to where Twilight was pointing. The sky above them was now fully black. A single, enormous, black cloud was positioned right above the hot-air balloon. Lightning then began to appear out of nowhere. The balloon began to shake heavily as the lightning was ever so close to striking it. "This is not good, this can't be right, there are no weather ponies around to be the cause of that! How is this possible?!!" Twilight was now in full panic mode, trying to steer the balloon clear from the bizarre storm. Spike suddenly dived into the picnic basket away from harm. "What are we going to do Twilight!?!" "Hold on Spike, things are going to get a little bumpy! Now, I need you to blow a flame into the balloon and -" Twilight was once again unable to finish her sentence as she was distracted not by the weather, but by something else. Something even more terrifying. "SPIKE, THERES A PONY OUT THERE!!" Spike gazed ahead to where Twilight was looking, and saw something completely out of the ordinary. Looking closer, he could only make out what looked like to be a large figure falling from the center of the cloud. At incredible speed. "Spike, we have to save that pony! Help me turn this thing around!" Twilight shouted, as she attempted to twist the hot-air balloon completely around and towards where the large figure was spotted. At closer inspection, Spike could make out the 'pony' much clearer. "I... don't think thats a pony," Spike said as he slowly turned towards Twilght. "What do you mean?? It HAS to be a pony!!! What else could it be?! A Griffin?! Or a Dragon!?" Twilight was now screaming at the top of her lungs. It was at this point in time that Twilight realized there was no need for shouting and screaming anymore. The thunder and lightning had stopped, the weather had cleared and the mysterious black cloud had disappeared. Everything seemed back to normal. Everything seemed so... quiet. The only single thing that was left now from the storm was the large and lifeless 'figure' plummeting from the sky towards Ponyville. Twilight and Spike could now finally get a full glimpse at what was it was. "What the hell is that thing?!" Spike gasped, as if he had seen a monster. "I have no idea Spike, but whatever it is, we cannot let it fall. Come here and help me!" Twilight grabbed the harness of the balloon and tried turning it towards the mysterious figure. "Twilight, we're never going to make it!" The mysterious figure looked as if it were unconscious, or worse... dead. Its eyes were closed, and it seemed very damaged by the storm. Twilight knew that she was too far away from the lifeless body and could not make it, but she still would not give up. She looked around the sky desperately to see if there were any pegasus around to help catch the body. Just when all hope was lost, Twilight could just make out somepony traveling at very high speeds towards the falling figure from very far away. Rainbow Dash! Many ponies, including Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy all looked up to the sky to see what all the commotion was about. They were all terrified at what had just transpired, but also amazed and curious at the conclusion. What they saw falling from the sky was something they couldn't make out, plummeting towards to Everfree Forest. "What in tarnation is that?" Applejack asked, pointing a hoof at the figure falling from the cloud. "Ooh! Maybe it's a meteor!" Pinkie Pie shouted excitedly. "Twilight's always telling me about them!" "Oh- oh my," Fluttershy said, following the object's path with her eyes. "I hope that no pony or animals get hurt when it lands." All of a sudden, they saw Rainbow Dash flying incredibly fast towards the 'meteorite'. This confused all them, and made them much more curious as to what that object was. The remaining Elements of Harmony decided to travel to the source of importance and find out what was really going on. Twilight and Spike could not tell if Rainbow Dash had caught the mysterious body or not, as they were lost in sight from the large trees that surrounded the Everfree Forest. They could only hope for the best as they made their way towards the forest. Twilight had absolutely no idea who or what that thing was and how it came to be falling from the sky, but all she knew inside was that she wanted it to be alive. She wanted it to be okay. Chapter 2: VoicesMewtwo was in a very dark place. A place that almost seemed familiar to him. "I have... seen this place, I have... been here before. Was it... in my dreams?" Water. It felt so natural to him. A feeling of peace and serenity. A feeling he had most definitely felt before. He opened his eyes, and saw the ocean; shining and glistening in all of its beauty. Below him, the grassy seabed swayed gently with the current, as Mewtwo sunk down deeper and deeper into the cool ocean water. "But this is no dream. I FEEL new life, rising within me." Above Mewtwo, a bright and powerful light appeared, casting its warm glow upon him and the ocean bed. His eyes followed the light, and saw what appeared to be the sun, brightly casting its ray of light upon him. With his vision clouded, he was captivated by the sun, staring constantly at it for some time. Then, all of a sudden, Mewtwo thought he could make out what looked to be a small pink creature, appearing directly in front of the bright light, smiling down upon him, then quickly swimming away. Mewtwo had actually seen this creature before. A very long time ago. An old friend. "M... Mew?" "Rainbow Dash! What happened?? Where is it??" Twilight and Spike had finally caught up to Rainbow Dash, who was now flying all around the Everfree Lake, looking desperately through the water. "I couldn't stop it! It crashed into the lake! It sank like a rock!" Rainbow Dash shouted. She flew over to where Twilight and Spike were standing. Then she softly said "I'm sorry, I... wasn't fast enough..." Everypony knew that Rainbow Dash hated losing, even if it wasn't a game. Twilight knew now that there was nothing that anypony could do. They couldn't simply dive in after it. It was over. "It's... ok, Rainbow Dash," Twilight softly spoke. Even though Twilight tried to comfort Rainbow Dash, she could hear the disappointment in her voice. "It's not your fault." "Yes it is! I should've been there! I should've caught it! I was so close too!" Rainbow Dash admitted. She was now angrily kicking the ground with her hoof. Twilight ignored Rainbow Dash as she looked away towards the lake. There were so many unanswered questions in her mind: What was that creature? What was it doing in the sky? How did it get here? Twilight realised that these questions would remain unanswered with her for the rest of her days. Twilight was known for her curiousity; going to very extreme measures to finding out answers that troubled her, and trying to solve the mysteries of the universe. Twilight found it difficult to cope with this situation, and started to breathe heavily. "Twilight, Rainbow, Spike, y'all alright?" Twilight, Spike and Rainbow Dash turned around suddenly to see Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie all staring at each of them, mainly at Twilight due to her heavy breathing. "What's wrong sugercube? You look terrible," Applejack said, very concerned for her friend. "Did somethin' happen?" Twilight now stopped breathing so heavily and lowered her head glumly. "We... couldn't save it. Rainbow Dash was... too late..." "Hold on a second, couldn't save what? Was that thing alive??" Applejack was now very curious as to what was really going on. "We... don't know," Twilight tried to remember what the figure actually looked like. "It definitely wasnt a pony, that's for sure. It also wasn't a griffin or a dragon, so what else could it have been? It was up there in the clouds! It had no wings! It's legs were incredibly large and muscular, and it's hoov - well, it's... paws were very strangely designed. It's ears were short, and they also looked very strange." Was it even from Equestria? Was it even alive?? Twilight's head was spinning with thought. "Well, I for one have absolutely no idea what just happened, or what is going on for that matter, but can we please just get out this place, and out of this disgusting mud?!" Rarity whined. Spike quickly rushed to her aide and started cleaning her hooves with a piece of silk cloth he happened to pull out of nowhere. "She's right, sugercube. As much as we all wanna help... w-whatever that thing was, i'm afraid there's nothin' left to do here now," Applejack said, putting a hoof on Twilight's shoulder. "If it is where y'all says it is, then it's long gone by now." Twilight sighed deeply, and looked back towards the lake. A tear began to form in her eye. 'Why do I care so much about a creature I haven't even met, or even seen!?' thought Twilight. She turned back over to her friends and wiped her tear away. "You're right.... Lets all go home," Twilight said, as she walked past her friends without saying a word, and heading back towards the clearing. "Ummmm what just happened?" wondered Pinkie Pie aloud. "I'm not sure. We'll talk about it once we get outta here. This place gives me the creeps," shuddered Applejack, remembering all of the horrid experiences she and her friends had suffered in the Everfree Forest. As Twilight and her friends made their way towards the clearing, Fluttershy suddenly stopped moving and stood very still. She looked very terrified. "Ummmm- girls, d-do you hear something?" Fluttershy nervously asked. All the other ponies lifted their ears and listened closely to their surroundings. "............ Eenope, can't hear a thing," Applejack said. "Ooh-ooh! I love guessing games! Wait a minute, let me see here. Hmmmmmm...... I hear....... I hear... birds! NO WAIT! I hear...... trees! NO WAIT! I hear..... Mr. and Mrs. Cake! They're taking newly made muffins out of the oven and placing it on the kitchen table! WAIT! No thats not it, I hear something else..... it's....... it's......-" Before Pinkie Pie could finish her sentence, her entire body began to shudder. Suddenly, she began to shake very rapidly up and down, and would not stop. This was not good, because all of her friends knew that this was one of Pinkie's many famous 'Pinkie senses'. "Pinkie, whats happening?? What does this mean??" Twilight asked nervously, knowing the full extent to Pinkie's senses. "Whatever it is, it's a doozy. Remember the same feeling I got ages ago when you finally believed in my Pinkie sense? It's that one! Something you never expect to happen is gonna happen!" Twilight and her friends began to panic. Would the doozy it be good? Would it be harmful? Judging by the fact that they were all in the Everfree Forest, they all knew this couldn't be good. Then came the sound. The sound Fluttershy had warned everypony about before. It then began to grow louder. Louder to the extent that everypony could now hear what it was, and where it was coming from. Their worst fears were realised when they found out the source of this unusual sound was coming from the Everfree Lake. "Those voices." Mewtwo woke suddenly. He could hear them. Coming from above. "They're outside." Mewtwo nervously looked around to find himself somewhere he had no idea where, or how he even managed to be there; underwater. What is going on? Mewtwo's fragile mind was racing with thoughts and questions as to what had happened to him. He tried to remember what had just transpired, and how he came to be where he was now. Nothing. Nothing came to Mewtwo's mind. His psychic powers were damaged by the recent events that occured to him. Sadly, he could not remember anything. The only simple things that Mewtwo could remember about his past was his name: Mewtwo, and what he was: Alone. "But... why?" Mewtwo closed his eyes. A small light appeared. His entire life began to flash before his eyes. Bubbles. Just... bubbles. Mewtwo cringed in pain, wanting there to be more. But there wasn't. His mind was lost. All there was to remember was just... water. "Is this my home? Is this where I belong?" Mewtwo closed his eyes and became lost in thought. He began to calm his mind and focus his powers to try and unsolve the mystery that was himself. However, the voices that he had heard before were becoming louder. They were outside. "Where I must be." Instantly, Mewtwo began to harness his powers and flow them throughout his entire body. His eyes then turned blue. The water around him began to bubble. With enough force, Mewtwo would gain so much momentum that he would launch himself up towards the surface, be released from this watery prison, and then find the source of the voices. The voices that could be his answer. "Everypony, get behind me!" Twilight instructed, as the Elements of Harmony all cradled up behind her, fearful about what to expect from the lake. Twilight was not afraid however. This could be it. The source to her all of her questions. Her answer. In a matter of seconds, a beam of light shot itself out of the Everfree Lake, causing Twilight and her friends to fall back. Suddenly, a lone figure shot itself out of the water from where the light was positioned. It came out at an incredible speed- even Rainbow Dash was stunned! The figure then began slow down, and then levitate itself towards the ground to where Twilight and her friends were all standing. They could all now see what this creature was. It was unlike any of them had ever seen. Fluttershy gasped as she hid herself behind Twilight. Rarity screamed in absolute terror. Applejack looked absolutely terrified by the appearance of the creature. Rainbow Dash was simply stunned not by the creature, but by the speed it had happened to possess. Pinkie Pie stood shocked with her mouth wide open. And Twilight stood in absolute awe in the presence of the creature. What amazed Twilight the most about this creature was it's body. It's body was kind of grayish-purple type of colour, with a purple underside and a very, very, long purple tail. What in Equestria was it?? The creature finally landed softly onto the ground. This was it. The calm before the storm. The creature stood silently, its tail magnificent, its body still, its eyes blue as the colour of Luna's night. Twilight awaited a response from the creature. Would it completely vaporise them? Would it greet them with welcome arms? Twilight had no idea what to expect from the creature. Its pose was oddly calm and bland, as though it were waiting for the ponies to do something first. Twilight and her friends all held their breath. Then it spoke. It only spoke once. "Why?" The creature then suddenly collapsed in front of them. Silence filled the entire forest. Chapter 3: PresenceEverything was dark once again. A feeling of warmth once again hit Mewtwo. The voices had stopped, although, he could hear other things. Peaceful things. Birds. Birds began to chirp, leaving a ringing sound in Mewtwo's ears. He had not heard birds since... some time ago. A very long time ago, for that matter. Mewtwo could not remember the last time he had heard or felt such peace, although this peace did feel somewhat strange to him. Mewtwo struggled to find consciousness, as he tried to open his eyes and gaze up towards the sky. Where... am I? With his vision clouded, Mewtwo tried to raise himself up, laying on what appeared to be some kind of soft material he had never felt before. It felt surpisingly good. As he tried to lift himself up, he instantly fell back down again. Mewtwo was weak. Very weak. What... is happening to me? Mewtwo's eyes were now fully open. He looked around what appeared to be a small room of some kind. It was very bright, colourful, and full of strange possessions. Could these be... tools of some kind? Mewtwo thought, observing every last detail of the room. They looked very strange, coming in all shapes and sizes. Am I... trapped here? Mewtwo's mind instantly remembered a room. His first memory of life. A room surrounded by strange tools and machines... And the humans. He then started to remember what had just happened to him. Those other creatures. He had not seen any of the before. They were not humans, that's for sure. They looked very similar to Pokemon, but they could talk. They also didn't FEEL like Pokemon. They were something else entirely. Something different. Mewtwo's mind began to focus back to the present. He began to check his body to see if he were tied up or attached to any machinery. Nothing. There was nothing restraining Mewtwo. It was as if he was simply... left there by himself. Without anything to keep him there. He was free. Mewtwo wondered why he was simply left by himself with nothing there to stop him. Didn't these creatures know that he was capable of wiping out their entire species and planet altogether? He quickly sprang up from where he was laying, only to fall back down to the ground. He could not fly. At all. Why?... Why is this happening to me? Mewtwo tried to lift himself up, only to stagger and fall to his knees. Everything seemed hopeless. Mewtwo was a sitting target in this place now. He waited something to happen to him. Anything. "Good," Mewtwo thought, "Finally, I can have my peace. The peace that I have ever so needed, ever since I arrived in this dreaded world." He then lay silently on the wooden floor, with his eyes closed. Waiting. But then, all of a sudden, he heard them again. Those voices. "... Rainbow Dash, we couldn't just leave it there to die in the Everfree Forest!" Another voice suddenly appeared. "I know Twilight, it's just that... I have a bad feeling about this. I mean, you saw it, didn't you? It came out of the water with such amazing speed even I couldn't match! And those eyes... its big... blue eyes staring at all of us... I don't know what we should do with it. Maybe we should tell Princess Celestia..." "Yes darling, I completely agree with you," Another voice appeared, and another. "Um, w- what if this creature isn't so bad after all? M- maybe it was just scared. I mean after all, it was, a-and still is, really hurt. Maybe it should stay here in my cottage for just a... little while longer?" Even with this voice the quietest out of them all, it still left a distinguished pain in Mewtwo's head. "No way Fluttershy! I have to agree with Rainbow and Rarity. We have no idea what this thing is or what it can do. Princess Celestia will know what to do!" Mewtwo closed his eyes and prayed for the pain to stop. "Yeah! And hopefully, if this thing isn't so bad after all, we can throw it a 'Welcome to Equestria (whatever your name is, whatever you are, and wherever you come from)' surprise birthday party! Oh that reminds me, I gotta get decorations, balloons, presents, snacks, games, music AND a birthday cake!" This voice was definitely the worst out of them all. Its constant fast and very 'annoying' tone drove Mewtwo to near insanity. " Oh Pinkie, we're not going to throw a welcoming party to whatever that creature is! Firstly, we are going to find out what this thing actually is, and how it came to being here in Equestria. That's it! Then if things turn sour, we will alert the Princess. Okay?!" The voice then let out an irritating sigh that caused Mewtwo to open his eyes. So, all they want is answers? Mewtwo's eyes suddenly turned blue. The ground began to shake. He rose up and managed to finally levitate himself off the floor. He had finally found his power. I'll give them answers! With that said, Mewtwo's entire body began to turn into a shade of blue. The walls began to crack, and glass shattered in every direction. Then, Mewtwo spread his arms wide, causing a devastating blast of power to blast out of his body and completely destroy the wall that separated him from the source of the voices. And then saw them once again. All of the six ponies huddling together in absolute shock. They looked absolutely terrified. Mewtwo simply waited for them to attempt to stop him, with his arms at the ready by his side, and his eyes a dark blue. A sphere of power circuled him. He was about to destroy this very place, and his captors. Just like he had done before. All those years ago. He paused, wanting the creatures to try and make the first move. But they did not attempt to stop him. They all just hid there, trembling. They all held each other close in a position that made it seem as if they were all protecting each other. Protecting each other from himself. Mewtwo then suddenly caught a glimpse of Twilight's eyes. She simply stared him in fear. Unquestionable fear, making no attempt whatsoever to try hold or stop him. It then hid its head underneath it's other companions. Mewtwo began to relent. Were these creatures really a threat? Mewtwo's eyes suddenly turned back to normal. The ground came to a halt, and everything stood perfectly still. Mewtwo's body then began to levitate itself back to the ground. The creatures still crouched together, trembling with fear. It was a strange sight to behold. No one had ever been... afraid of Mewtwo. Not like this anyway. He then let out a soft, calm voice, that somewhat eased the tension in the room. "Why?..." The ponies all looked at each other, very confused as to what Mewtwo was trying to say. What amazed all them was the fact that his mouth had not moved. It felt as if he was speaking to all of them... in their minds. "W-w- what do you mean??" muttered Twilight, still trembling by the presence of this enormous being. You could hear the fear in her voice. "I tried to destroy this place- all of you. But you just stood there, holding each other. Why?..." Mewtwo was now very curious. This had never happened to him before. All the times that this had happened, his enemies would fight back, trying to put him down again. This was now not the case. Twilight then stepped forward. "B- because, if we were all t- to die, then we would all be together... as a f- family," she said courageously. Mewtwo looked completely astounded. This defenceless creature was willing to step out in front of her own 'family', and sacrifice herself to try and save those she loved? It was with this act that caused Mewtwo to gain a tear in his eye. A single tear. But why? "I... understand..." Mewtwo softly said, somehow understanding what Twilight had said. What troubled Mewtwo the most about this entire ordeal, was why it held so much importance to him. His memory was completely strained. Looking back towards his past caused his mind to scream with pain. Whatever it was that had happened to him, it was gone, for now at least, until he could find some way to find out more about what troubled him. What he had done. The ponies all began to slowly calm down, and stopped gripping each other tightly. They still stared at Mewtwo in fear, and what he had just about done to them. "I... am sorry." The Elements of Harmony were completely surprised. This strange, powerful figure that had fallen from a black cloud in the sky, just tried to destroy them and everything they held dear, was now suddenly apologising? This was all very confusing. Twilight stared at Mewtwo in disbelief. Her eyes totally focused on his. They were so... serious, but at the same time, kind. This mysterious figure was definitely a doozy. Once again, Twilight decided that she was the only one left to speak, as her friends were all too stunned to do so. "Um, you're... welcome?" she said, awkwardly. Mewtwo then observed the destruction that he had caused with his own hands. The room he was in was completely ruined. The wall that separated Mewtwo from the creatures was removed completely. This would take some time to fix. "I will deal with this mess in time," Mewtwo assured. Twilight had no words to describe what was going on. "Now he's volunteering to clean up the mess??" The ponies then began to feel a little more comfortable with the figure that just tried to kill them, although they did still feel uneasy. "Uhhh... thankyou?" Twilight began to speak a lot clearer. "Um, allow me to introduce myself. I'm... Twilight Sparkle - " She suddenly hesitated. "... and this is Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy." When Twilight mentioned Fluttershy's name, she quietly made a very soft squeeling noise, then proceeded to hide behind Rainbow Dash's tail. "What... what's your name?" Twilight hesitantly asked. Mewtwo turned his head to look out what once was a wide open window. The sun was shining, the birds began to sing again, and the trees were swaying ever so gently with the wind. Everything seemed so... peaceful. Could this be... Mewtwo then turned his head back to the ponies. They all once again held their breath. It spoke only three words, and no more. "I am Mewtwo." With that finally being said, Mewtwo's eyes once again turned blue. The ponies all feared the worst, but it was not to be done. Instead of finally destroying the one place that the yellow pegasus pony Fluttershy called her home, he lifted himself into the air and flew straight out the right window and up away from the cottage at incredible speed. Twilight and her friends were then left by themselves in the broken down cottage, to question and wonder what had just happened to them all, and why this creature had spared them. Twilight knew that she had not seen the last of this... Mewtwo, and would do everything in her power to find out what his intentions were. And, if need be, to stop him. Chapter 4: Alone?Mewtwo was very high up now. The wind brushed hard against his face as he began to soar higher and higher into the clouds. A blue streak of light appeared out of his back, but it quickly dissolved itself and disappeared. He passed what looked to be several other winged ponies at incredible speed. They were all amazed by the speed of this 'pony' they thought him to be, but none of them could see him close enough to realise that this creature was actually not of their world. Mewtwo observed his surroundings for a few minutes. It wasn't long before he saw a very large mountain in the distance that seemed to be deserted. He followed his eyes to the mountain, and found a small clearing outside a very large cave. Calmly, he then began to fall ever so slowly, and levitate himself down towards the clearing. With a very quiet but powerful thud, Mewtwo landed on the rocky ground. He looked over the horizon and saw what needed to be seen. A new world. The sun was now shining very high up in the sky, casting its warmth glow upon a small town below. This wasn't the same sun to Mewtwo however. It felt different, as if it were... alive? He looked beyond the town, and saw a vast countryside that stretched all the way towards the horizon. On the very edge of the horizon, he saw another mountain, and another settlement. But this wasn't just a town, it was a city. Clear blue water ran from beneath its buildings towards its meadowlands from below. Its tall and powerful towers almost touched the clouds above it. This wasn't a city to Mewtwo, but a beacon of light, to its land below. Mewtwo was captivated by this world. This place is... beautiful. But what right have I to live in this world?... Mewtwo instantly remembered what had just transpired, and what he had just about done to those six innocent creatures. His mind was not in the right state. He thought those creatures were plotting against him, but they were simply taking care of him. Mewtwo sighed deeply and looked back down towards the small town below and began to observe it with much more detail. It looked very small, but seemed very busy. Mewtwo calmed his mind and focused his thoughts to the town. There were more of those things he had seen before; very small, bright, colourful and 'happy' creatures. Mewtwo's mind then began to focus his mind deeper, as if he were literally seen moving around in the town. Everything seemed... happy. He ignored the creatures and moved on towards a very large tree. Then he saw them again. Those six creatures. They huddled close together and followed each other into a large tree. Who were these creatures, and why were they so important? Mewtwo suddenly realised that this wasn't just a tree, it was a home of some sort. These creatures must be intelligent, thought Mewtwo. His curiosity eventually got the better of him, and flew over towards the window of the tree. He looked through the window, and saw the purple creature he remembered as being called 'Twilight' locking the door, and then moving over to where Mewtwo was standing and closing the window. As she began to turn, she suddenly stopped and looked back up towards the window. Impossible... Twilight then just shrugged her shoulders and trotted back towards her friends. Mewtwo was amazed by these creatures, Twilight in particular. She held such... power. Mewtwo knew of course that these were not humans, nor were they Pokemon. It was as if they were... both. Mewtwo shook his head and simply levitated himself threw the wall. Twilight suddenly began to speak. "Okay girls, with the events that we just witnessed, I think it's safe to say that this... Mewtwo... is a threat to Ponyville, and even Equestria." The other creatures nodded their heads in agreement. Twilight continued. "Now, I think the right option here is to notify Princess Celestia at once about the potential danger that we could all be in by this... Mewtwo, and -" The rainbow coloured creature whom he also remembered was 'Rainbow Dash' suddenly cut her off. "A 'potential threat'? 'POTENTIAL?!!' You saw what that thing did, Twilight! It completely destroyed Fluttershy's cottage! This thing is one hundred percent dangerous, and it's gotta be stopped!" Rainbow Dash then clutched her hooves and beat them together. Mewtwo chuckled at this remark. Thinking that these creatures could stop him was almost laughable. "Well... don't you remember what happened afterwards? He apologised, even volunteering to fix everything! Now I know that everything looks bad, and the Princess should definitely know about this..." This was the third time that Mewtwo had heard of this 'Princess Celestia'. He wondered if this 'Princess' was some sort of guardian to these creatures. Either way, Mewtwo had no interest in meddling with these creatures, whatsoever. He wanted to be alone. He wanted peace. "... but I have a feeling that this thing can be reasoned with! Now here's what I think we should do: Firstly, we...." Before Mewtwo could hear the rest of Twilight's sentence, a sudden loud roar burst through Mewtwo's mind, causing him to lose focus and end up losing his connection to Ponyville and what to Twilight was about to say. He opened his eyes, and turned from where he was standing to see a very large creature standing towards the entrance of the cave. This creature was ten times the size of Mewtwo. Its eyes were a very dark orange, looking almost similar to a sun at sunset. Its body was composed of red scales, and it had two very large wings coming out of its back. Mewtwo knew that creature was also no Pokemon, but a dragon. The beast then roared a second time, but this time it letting out a burst of red flames and black smoke from its mouth. The flames encircled Mewtwo, making him totally unseen from sight. The dragon looked satisfied with itself, as if he had defeated this strange creature. But this was not the case. Suddenly, through the flames, Mewtwo raised his hand and cast the flames aside, leaving the beast looking completely shocked and surprised about the power this creature possessed. "I do not want to hurt you," Mewtwo said, lowering his arm. The beast took no notice of his warning however, and readied itself to charge. Mewtwo simply stood there, with no fear. The dragon then sprang, trying to knock him off the side of the mountain. Mewtwo was prepared for this, though. With one hand, he raised his arm and caught the dragon by the snout. His eyes suddenly turned blue, his psychic powers ready. The dragon twisted and turned in fear, struggling to break free from this trance. With one push, Mewtwo cast the dragon back into the cave from where it came. Mewtwo then saw the look on the dragon's face: terror. The dragon suddenly lifted its wings and flew past Mewtwo, causing him to jump aside. The dragon then flew off behind the mountain and away from him and from sight. Mewtwo was once again left to decipher what had just happened to him. The dragon had tried to attack him, and when it realised that it could not stop his power, it flew away in fear. Even with this creature making the first move against Mewtwo, and even with his warning, this still left a pain his heart. Realising his actions, he once again rose himself up and flew away from the mountain. What... have I done? Mewtwo flew very far and wide to find a single solidary cloud, cast off from the rest of its neighbours. This cloud felt significant to Mewtwo. It reminded him of himself. Very sofly, he landed on the cloud. But he was not alone. "Hey mister! Um, what are you doing up here?" Mewtwo turned his head quickly to find a small winged creature next to him. The creature looked startled by his sudden stare, but then gave him a very nervous smile. This one looked very different to the others he had seen. This one's coat was grey, similar to his own colour. It had a very faded brush of yellow hair, and its eyes were somewhat 'cross-eyed'. What amazed Mewtwo most about this creature was what it had possessed on the side of its leg. Bubbles. Just... bubbles. Mewtwo was absolutely amazed by this creature. He simply stared into its oddly shaped eyes, simply waiting for it to scream in terror and fly away. But it did not. It would not. "Why... do you not fly away?" Mewtwo asked silenty. The small grey creature looked confused, giving him a strange look, as if she hadn't already. "Um, because... I was just wondering... what you were doing up here?" the creature puzzled. It now looked very confused. Mewtwo tried to find words to say. "Does my presence not frighten you? Does my unatural appearance not strike you with fear?" "Umm well I am kind of curious as to knowing what you are exactly... but no, I guess I'm not afraid!" Mewtwo could hear this creature speaking the absolute truth. He was astounded. "I am not like other creatures. I... am not even of this world," Mewtwo said softly. The small winged creature tilted its head sideways in a very confusing manner. He continued. "I have been looking for a place to call my home. A place where I may live in peace... away from the world." "Golly mister, why in Equestria would you want to live away from all of this?!" the winged creature asked. Mewtwo simply sighed and looked towards the horizon. "I... am a clone. A copy, a product of science. I am an outcast... so I must live as an outcast, if I am to live at all." The small grey creature then decided that this being needed some comfort. "Oh no, I think everypony will learn to accept you if you just open up to them a little. I know I did!" The creature's mouth then turned into a smile. Mewtwo shook his head and repeated himself. "I am not of this world. I can never belong." Mewtwo then sighed and turned his head back towards the small winged creature. Curiously he asked "What... is a pony?" The creature looked very surprised by Mewtwo's question, then suddenly burst out laughing. The small creature found itself hard to answer his question without trying not to laugh. "Mister, what do you mean 'what's a pony'?! I'm a pony! This world is full of them, mister! My name is Derpy, by the way. What's your name?" Derpy asked brightly. Mewtwo just stood and stared at her, with his eyes serious and determined. Derpy thought that maybe it wasn't such a great idea to ask for its name so rudely. Derpy's smile then turned into a frown as she looked down towards the ground nervously. Suddenly, Derpy heard a small chuckle coming from Mewtwo. She looked up and saw him still staring at her, but with the smallest kind of smile you could ever see on one's face. "I... am Mewtwo." Derpy's smile then turned into a grin. She had just made a new friend. A friend who was also the most powerful Pokemon that ever lived. Chapter 6: AnswersTwilight was standing forward, concentrating all of her magic into the field of energy that had engulfed Mewtwo. Twilight's friends were all positioned behind her. This type of magic that Twilight was creating was beginning to drain her of all her energy. Even with Twilight's greatest magic prison spell, it still wasn't enough to hold Mewtwo. Mewtwo's eyes then turned blue. With a wave of his hand, the purple bubble of energy suddenly burst around him, leaving Twilight and her friends completely vulnerable. The six ponies stared at Mewtwo, realising the danger and possible consequence of their mistake. They waited for him to finally make a move against them. Mewtwo just stood and simply sighed with such exhaustion. "I do not want to hurt you all. Leave this place... now." Twilight held no fear, and began to speak in a much louder tone. "Listen, I know that what we tried probably wasn't the right idea to go about things, but all we want is answers! We need to know who you are, what you are planning and what you're doing here!" Twilight exclaimed. "We need to know whether you're a threat or not to Equestria! Because if you are, then- well... we w- we will stop you..." Mewtwo's eyes then faded back to normal. His relaxed his body from his attacking posture he had been in. He sighed once more and headed towards the cave. He turned his head back to the ponies just before heading into the dark. "Follow me." The five ponies all stared at each other in confusion, wondering if this was some kind of trap. But Twilight then began to follow Mewtwo into the dark. With Twilight's action, the five other ponies quickly hurried in after her and Mewtwo. The cave was very dark, too dark for anypony to see anything. Mewtwo's hand suddenly began to glow a very light blue, causing the entire cave to light up very dimly. Mewtwo sat himself down on the cold rocky ground and closed his eyes. The six ponies nervously looked at each other, pondering whether they should do the same. Twilight was the first to sit herself down. With Twilight's seating, the rest of the ponies soon followed. "You want answers? Very well. But I must warn you, my memory has been... damaged. It may be difficult to show you everything you're looking for. Are you ready?" Twilight looked back at her friends. They all seemed very anxious and nervous as to what was about to happen. Twilight then turned back to Mewtwo. "We are ready," Mewtwo then closed his eyes and instructed the ponies to do the same. Very well, then we shall begin, Twilight opened her eyes to nothing. Everything was black. She looked around to see herself floating in oblivion. Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy were nowhere to be seen. She was all alone. Floating into absolute nothingness. Then suddenly, out of the corner of Twilight's eye, a tiny figure could be seen from quite a distance away. Twilight wondered what it could be, and what it was doing here. Alone. In the dark. "H- hello?" Twilight's voice echoed across the never-ending dark. Nothing. The figure then began to draw closer to Twilight. She looked closer and closer, finally capturing a glimpse of what this thing was. It was Mewtwo, although it looked much younger than his usual self. He was asleep, or so she thought. His eyes were shut, and his arms were crossed together. Was all of this real? A sudden voice then filled into Twilight's mind. "I have slept for so long. It seems like... forever. But I remember something. Someone..." Mewtwo's body suddenly began to grow bigger, and older. Twilight simply floated in shock at what was transpiring with this creature. Had he been alone like this all this time? "Life is... wonderful. But... why?" Everything suddenly began to evaporate. Things began to become much clearer, and Twilight suddenly found herself standing in some kind of medical labratory. The only things that hadn't changed was Twilight and Mewtwo's position. Mewtwo was still asleep, looking exactly the same as Twilight had seen him before. Except this time, it was different. He was being held inside an orange tank, strapped together with all kinds of wires and machinery. This was not normal. Twilight tried to touch the glass that separated herself from Mewtwo. She felt nothing. "Doctor, look at this!" "What?" "Its brain waves... they're surging!" Twilight turned to see very strange creatures standing around looking at some sort of strange technological device. These creatures looked very similar to apes, except these creatures where somewhat... cleaner. They could also talk, which caused Twilight's curiosity of these creatures to soar. But then she shook her head, trying to focus on what was happening and turned her head back to Mewtwo. His left eye opened suddenly. Twilight screamed, but then shut her mouth quickly as if she would be caught. The strange creatures took no notice of her, as if she were not even there. Mewtwo's eyes suddenly turned blue again, like they had done previously with Twilight and her friends. This could not be good. The glass began to crack, and with a small push of power, Mewtwo broke free from his tank The strange creatures all turned, shocked by what had just happened. Orange liquid began to drain out from where the orange tank was, dripping on Mewtwo and onto the ground. An alarm was heard throughout the turmoil. Twilight just stood there beside Mewtwo, wondering what was about to happen next. "Radio Giovanni's helicopter! Tell him what's happened!" "QUIET! Let us hear its psychic powers!" This creature was very strange. He had a white coat, glasses, and his mane was enormous! He must of been a scientist of some kind. "Psychic... powers?" Mewtwo suddenly began to speak. To Twilight, he sounded much more like the Mewtwo that she had encountered previously. The strangely haired creature continued. "For years we struggled, to successfully clone a Pokemon to prove our theories. But you're the first specimen to survive!" Twilight began to slip into thought. What was a 'Pokemon'? Is Mewtwo some sort of clone?! The creature then pointed to a very old carved drawing on the wall. It... almost looked like Mewtwo, except it looked much smaller, and seemed less dangerous. "...That is Mew, the rarest of all Pokemon. From its DNA we created you: Mewtwo!" "Mewtwo? Am I only a copy? Living in Mew's shadow!?" Mewtwo's voice began to grow with anger. "You are greater than Mew! Improved through the power of human ingenuity!" Human? "... We used to most advanced techiques to develop your awesome psychic powers!" Psychic powers?? "So, I am simply the end result of your experiment. What becomes of me now that your 'experiment' is over?" "Oh our experiment isn't over yet, it's just beginning! Now the serious testing begins!" Twilight felt sorry for Mewtwo. He had just been brought into this world through tests and experiments. He had no purpose for living. He did not experience the beginning of life; having loving parents taking care of him and living happily and peacefully underneath the bright and beautiful sun. This could seriously damage a pony, let alone Mewtwo. She looked back towards Mewtwo to see him just staring down at his hands, totally lost in thought. Twilight wondered what could be going through his mind at this time. He then raised his head, and his entire body began to turn blue. Twilight knew what was coming. She observed her surroundings quickly to see whether there was some place to hide. But there were none. It didn't matter however, as she was totally unaffected by what was about to transpire. Other orange tanks around the lab began to shatter. Mewtwo's eyes suddenly turned blue. With a push of strength, Mewtwo forced the strange 'human' creatures to the ground with a burst of his 'psychic powers'. This power however caused the main electrical engine in the lab to explode. Twilight stood in absolute shock as Mewtwo was tearing this lab apart, piece by piece with his newly created powers. Mechanical hands from the machines tried to hold Mewtwo down, but it was hopeless. With a another push of strength, his power caused the hands to let go and eventually crumble. Twilight made a mental note to never again hold Mewtwo down against his will. Mewtwo's blue eyes observed the carnage, causing everything functional in the lab to suddenly explode and turn to rubble. Flames began to spread throughout the lab. Many of the strange humans fled in absolute terror, except for the one with the very large mane. He was left alone, sitting against a hard wall. From out of the flames, Mewtwo appeared. The strange human then spoke. "We dreamed of creating the world's strongest Pokemon..." Mewtwo's entire body then began to charge itself with a blue ball of power. "... and we succeeded." The power then cast itself wide and made a deafening explosion, completely destroyed the lab and everything on the island. Twilight stood amongst the devastation, totally unaffected by the destruction. A large black cloud of smoke then began to rise into the sky. And there among the flames, Mewtwo stood. His head then turned to where Twilight was supposedly standing. This caused her to look very startled by Mewtwo's gaze. It was as if he could... see her directly. "Behold my powers! I am the strongest Pokemon in the world! Stronger even than Mew..." With this said, everything once again began to fade. The flames died, and the place where Twilight was standing disappeared. The ground then began to glow, and Twilight could feel herself being lifted into the air. She screamed as everything around her, including herself began to be consumed by this bright light. Twilight opened her eyes. She was back in the cave, alongside her friends. It seemed that they had all just experienced what Twilight had been through. They all had a very shocked expression on their faces, now knowing the entire mystery that was Mewtwo. Twillight looked around and saw him, standing there in the exact position he was in when he destroyed that island: tall and proud. "Now you know my story. Now you what I am, and the powers that I truly possess. What happened that day I will always remember. Since then however my eyes have been opened, as has my heart. I have been looking for a place where I can finally live in peace. I have found my purpose. This is why I am here on this mountain. I am a threat to your kind, and to your world..." Twilight and her friends stood in absolute silence. Now they all realised the full extent that this 'Pokemon' had been through, and how hard it was to simply find a place to call his home. Twilight finally knew the source of Mewtwo's problem. He was all alone, in this world and his. "So... um, now that we know what you are, and how you came into being, there's still one thing that I am not sure of..." Mewtwo looked up at Twilight, wondering what else there was for him to say. "And that is?" "How did you get here? To Equestria from your world?" Mewtwo paused. He had actually never thought of this since he arrived. How was he here at all? What could of happened in his world that caused himself to being pushed into this one? Mewtwo traced his mind back to his last vivid memory of his world. His mind then fractured, causing severe pain to Mewtwo's brain. He groaned and focused his mind back to the present time. "I... do not know. I... cannot remember..." Twilight looked back to her friends. She knew that this 'Pokemon' has obviously had a change of heart over the years, ever since that day that Twilight and her friends had just seen. Now that she knew what he was and where he came from, she wanted to finally help him, and give him closure. She wanted to help the most powerful Pokemon in the world retrace his memory as to what had happened in his world that could have caused him to being transported into their world. Twilight thought to herself about all the ways in which she could help. She retraced all the spells she could conjure and create, as well as all the spells she had successfully been able to accomplish. A sudden idea came into Twilight's mind, causing her to grow a very large grin that actually scared Mewtwo. "Follow me Mewtwo, I have an idea!" Chapter 7: First AttemptThe journey back to Twilight's house was a very quiet one, but at the same time very hurried. There was nothing else to say between the ponies and Mewtwo. Twilight was fully determined to get back to the library for some reason. The other ponies looked very puzzled, beginning to question Twilight's motives silently. Mewtwo was very hesitant to return back to Ponyville in plain sight, not wanting anypony to know of his presence in their little town. They arrived back at the library at nightfall with the moon now very clear in the sky. Mewtwo looked up towards the glistening light. Once again, the moon felt very strange to Mewtwo. What is it about the sun and the moon that felt so different? There weren't any ponies out and about in Ponyville, so Mewtwo was able to draw a slight breath of relief. The six ponies entered the library with Mewtwo being the last to enter, feeling very uncomfortable and uneasy about being here in their home. Twilight then called out a name of some kind. "SPIKE! I need you down here now!" From upstairs of the library, a small purple creature came steadily walking down the stairs to where Twilight's voice was coming from. It seemed like this creature was disturbed, making a very loud yawn. He also seemed very grumpy. It was a baby dragon! Mewtwo was amazed that a living baby dragon was staying and living among these ponies. What was suppose to happen when it finally grows up into the monster that Mewtwo defeated only hours ago? This world was very strange indeed. So very different to his own... "Twilight, what are you want?! Its the midde of the night! If you want me to cleanup the mess that's down there, it was not me! It was Owlowiscious! He-" Spike then saw Mewtwo standing very tall in the centre of the libary, curiously staring at him with his large wide eyes. This caused Spike to be caught completely off guard, making a scream that lifted him off the ground. "GAH! It's that thing! I mean- it's... him! What is he doing here?! What happened?! Did something happen?! Oh no, something happened didn't it!!" Spike yelled. All the six ponies, including Mewtwo stared at Spike with such confusion. Twilight was the first to speak. "Spike, we'll talk about all of this later. FIRST, I need you to help me find the book with a remembrance spell. Spike took no notice of Twilight's words, focusing his full attention on this very large creature standing in the middle of the library. Twilight stopped what she was doing, and looked towards Spike. She shook her head in dismay. "SPIKE!" Spike shook his head to break free from his daze. "Oh, right! Remembrance spell coming right up!" Spike ran towards a very large selection of books, climbed up very tall stairs and pulled out a very large book. Mewtwo had no idea what Twilight had in mind, and what she was planning to do. Spike threw the very large book over to where Twilight was standing. She then began to flip the book inside out, desperately hoping to find something. A bright and happy 'ding' could be heard throughout the room as Twilight's face lit up dramatically. "Here it is! This here is the EXACT spell I used on my friends when they were all turned upside down, and became the complete opposites of themselves by an evil disharmonious spirit. With this spell, I was able to focus their minds on previous experiences they had encountered with all of us, and made them remember who they were and what had happened to them. Maybe this spell could work for you!" Twilight said, pointing at Mewtwo. Mewtwo bent his head slightly and once more became totally lost in thought. Could this possibly work? Could this truly recreate my lost memories from my previous world? Mewtwo then looked up towards Twilight. "Why...? Why are you helping me?" Mewtwo muttered. "Because it is our duty to help anypon- um... to help any 'creature' that appears to be in any kind of trouble, no matter who they are!" Twilight said, suddenly smiling. Mewtwo then remembered his encounter with the grey coloured pony known as 'Derpy'. Was Derpy right about these creatures? Were they truly the most 'accepting and friendliest creatures that I will ever know'? Are these ponies willing to accept me?... "Um, Mewtwo?" Mewtwo quickly lost focus of Derpy's echoed words and looked up towards Twilight. "Yes, I am ready." Mewtwo's body was strapped to Twilight's bed with A LOT of Pinkie Pie's very famous and very sticky masking tape that she uses for her party decorations. All the ponies thought from experience that even with the look of Mewtwo's devastating and very powerful powers, he was not going anywhere under there. As Pinkie Pie had just finished putting the final touches on, Twilight walked over to Mewtwo with her book in hoof. "Now, this procedure usually is quite harmless. But with your ability, your powers and just plain... you, I have no idea what is going to happen," Twilight said nervously. Mewtwo needed closure. He needed answers to why he was here. Mewtwo closed his eyes and rested his body. "Do it." Twilight bent down and very softly touched the end of her horn to Mewtwo's head. Twilight's horn suddenly began to glow very purple with power. What is this kind of magic? Twilight's eyes then closed as well. Mewtwo began to feel Twilight's magic in his mind, trying to unravel the mysteries of his past that could have caused him to being in this world. Mewtwo opened his eyes to see his entire life flashing before his eyes. From his awakening, to his 'partnership' with evil. From his rebuilding, to his final day of revenge. From his unforgettable battle with his counterpart, to his sudden change of heart. From his departure with his 'family', to his new home. From his time of peace, to another encounter with - A magical burst of energy suddenly shocked Twilight, causing her to fall back and disrupt her performing her spell. Mewtwo was now beginning to shake. Pinkie's masking tape would not last for long. Twilight and the rest of the ponies looked in fear as Mewtwo was now beginning to experience a seizure. Mewtwo's eyes were rolled to the back of his head, and he was gasping and screaming very loudly as he was shaking back and forth uncontentionally. Rainbow Dash ran over to try and hold him down, but Twilight suddenly pushed her very hardly out of the way. "NO! DON'T! You could make it a lot worse!" Suddenly, Mewtwo began to turn pink. Pinkie Pie stood in complete and utter shock, with her mouth dropped all the way to the floor. Mewtwo's body then began to flow with black electricity. It was as if he were being electrocuted, but there were no signs of anything electrical attached to Mewtwo whatsoever. All Twilight and her friends could do is just stand in absolute terror, waiting for the screams to stop. Mewtwo eyes suddenly turned blue. The sticky masking tape that held him down was useless. The tape began to rip itself apart. Mewtwo then glanced at all the six ponies standing there next to him. "You may control my body, but you will never control my will!!" Mewtwo screamed. Mewtwo lifted himself off the bed with such incredible power. The six ponies now realised that Mewtwo was in the exact same position as he was back at Fluttershy's cottage... before he almost took it apart. Twilight tried to reason with him. "MEWTWO! Stop! Don't do this!! We are your friends!!" With these words, Mewtwo looked towards the pony that had just spoken. The fear in her eyes once again calmed Mewtwo, and he began to slowly levitate back down onto the bed again. His eyes turned back to normal. As he fell back onto the bed, Mewtwo let out one word before falling back out of conscious. "... Giovanni..." Mewtwo awoke suddenly. It was morning. The sun shined brightly as its light found its way through the windows and across Mewtwo's face. He turned his head towards the end of the bed to see Twilight there breathing a sigh of relief. "What... happened?" Mewtwo said weakily. For some strange reason, Twilight let out a sudden giggle. "Well, you've been out for quite some time. Overnight actually. My friends went back to their homes. You're safe now." Mewtwo lifted himself up and looked around the room he was in. Oh no... "What. Happened. Here." Mewtwo repeated, with a very serious look in his eyes. Twilight gulped and swallowed her pride. "Uh, well um... you did kinda... try to completely destroy us again...?" Mewtwo sighed heavily and stood up from the bed. Twilight continued. "... but this time it was different. It seemed like as if you weren't controlling your body. When I was going through your memories, something happened that caused me to lose connection to your mind. You then went into a seizure, which was... VERY scary! You started screaming all of a sudden and some kind of black electricity started to flow throughout your entire body! Oh and..." Twilight once more let out a small giggle. Mewtwo was starting to become very annoyed. "WHAT, is it?!" "... you turned pink," Twilight had now stopped giggling, "But it wasn't funny, it was VERY scary! It wasn't natural! What... what happened to you?" Mewtwo looked down towards his hands. This was not right. This feeling that Twilight had just described to him, this description of pain felt as if it had happened before... He closed his eyes and began to focus his mind once more. This time, he actually saw something that wasn't there before. "I was... on a mountain. There was an island there. It was beautiful..." Mewtwo sighed heavily and continued, "Everything was peaceful. We lived there in peace for sometime on that mountain..." At this time, Twilight had opened up a notebook and began writing down notes. "... until he came..." Twilight looked up from her pen and paper and looked at Mewtwo very anxiously. "Before you passed out, you mentioned a name... 'Giovanni'. Does this name mean anything to you?" Twilight now was wearing a pair of glasses and Mewtwo was now lying on the bed with his eyes shut. As he was beginning to trace his memory back more, his mind suddenly burst again, causing Mewtwo to groan once more in severe pain. "I... don't know. My memory just stopped at this moment in time. But, at least... I have some memories of my life just before I came to being here." Twilight studied her notes carefully and began to think. Before Mewtwo blacked out, he could of sworn he heard Twilight saying something to him. Something that made him feel uneasy. Mewtwo put it to the back of his mind and focused back on Twilight. "Well, I guess my magic just wasn't strong enough to gain access to all of your lost memories. I think we need somepony that's a 'little bit' stronger than me..." Twilight trailed off and stared up to the sky towards the sun. Mewtwo stared at Twilight for a long while before responding. "Who else is there that could help me?..." Twilight turned around and looked even more curious and determined than ever. "I... think it's time we took you to see Princess Celestia..." Chapter 8: PreparationTwilight woke up to a sudden start. She got out of bed very quickly, trying desperately to not wake up Spike, and made her way downstairs. To her surprise, Mewtwo was not on the couch she had instructed him to rest on for the night. "I thought I told him not to leave the library!" Twilight ran outside. It was still quite early in the morning, too early for anypony to be up and about. She looked around the town, hopelessly trying to catch a sign of Mewtwo. There was none. Twilight then sighed deeply and walked slowly back to the library. With Mewtwo's abilities, he could be halfway across the world by now. As Twilight made her way back inside her home, something suddenly caught her eye coming from the balcony. It was Mewtwo! Twilight let out a sigh of relief and looked up to where Mewtwo was positioned. He hadn't noticed Twilight from below. He was just... gazing up towards the sky. As he did. Twilight didn't know what to do at that time. Should she say something? Should she just leave him there by himself with his thoughts? "Beautiful... morning, isn't it?" Twilight quietly said, trying not to startle Mewtwo. To her relief, she succeeded. Mewtwo slowly lowered his head down to where Twilight was standing. "The sun. It... holds such power. A power that I have not seen before..." Mewtwo then trailed off. "Well, Princess Celestia raises and lowers the sun every day. She has done for the past one thousand years!" Twilight said with a hint of proudness in her voice. Mewtwo heard that name once more. He knew that he was now bound to meet this 'princess' eventually. There was no stopping this interaction... "I suppose you will be taking me to this 'Princess Celestia' in chains?" Mewtwo asked. "Well, we will see Princess Celestia all in good time... but first, I think it would be best that you stay here in Ponyville for a while!" Mewtwo choked. His eyes then met Twilight's suddenly. He looked very surprised. "What? 'Stay here'? But I do not BELONG here. What purpose would serve me to stay here, without possibly destroying this town?" Mewtwo asked determinedly. Twilight gulped, "Well, I just thought that before we meet the princess, that we could hopefully... 'change your approach' and maybe even..." Twilight hesitated for a second. "...teach you about Equestria! Its history, rules, citizenship etc. I have so many books on anything you need to know about this place! It shouldn't take too long for you to read, I know it only took about a week for me to read all 20 or so books regarding how Equestria was founded, raised and structured. Perhaps we can help you also..." Twilight had not noticed that Mewtwo was just staring at her the same way he was before she started rambling. She had no idea whether he was paying any attention to a word she was saying or not. She then finished her sentence with something that made Mewtwo's facial expression then change to complete surprise. "... get to know the other ponies?" Mewtwo looked away. His eyes once again caught the sun. He then closed his eyes and dropped his head. "Although I appreciate what you are trying to do, I have no time for this meddling. I'm afraid that one pony does not represent this place. I admit there are some of you that are... unique. But I must find myself, and in doing so, I must meet with this 'Princess Celestia' as soon as possible." But Twilight shook her head in dismay. "Listen, I know that you are not of this world, and I know that my friends and I will do everything in our power to help you get back home..." ...Home? "... but I believe that with some convincing and 'time', you can actually get to know everypony, and they will get to know you, and maybe even... make some friends," Twilight said, with a smile. Mewtwo didn't know what to think. Could this actually work? Is it possible for me to finally be accepted into a society? Could I even... make friends with these creatures- these... 'ponies'? Mewtwo once again looked back down at Twilight. She was still smiling at him, with her bright violet eyes. Mewtwo was very interested to see where this attempt of 'friendship' could go. Even if this was a failure, it could still work for him because the ponies would finally realise that Mewtwo was a lost cause, and he could finally find peace and serenity on his own. Thinking about friendship made Mewtwo realise to himself that he actually prefered to be alone. He was an outcast; a creature built for the only purpose of harnessing complete and utter power. His greatest power was his greatest curse. Alone. "...Yes..." Twilight's face suddenly turned very bright. Her smile turned to a very large grin. Mewtwo's mind lost focus and all he could see was Twilight's bright and happy face staring back at him. "Thankyou! I know that you wont regret it! I'm sure that we can find a way to fit you in perfectly here! Oh gosh, now I have so much to do! First, I gotta find all the books necessary to teach you about Equestria, its rules and structure. Then I have to find you a place to stay. THEN I have to tell everypony about our idea. THEN I have to..." Mewtwo did not realise that he had actually agreed to Twilight's plan to accept him into their way of life and society. He had been so lost in thought and concentration that he could not help muttering a 'yes'. But this was not to accept Twilight's proposition, it was to accept the fact that he deserved to be alone. Away from all of this. Away from the world. Mewtwo was not entirely thrilled about this plan. What if something happened? What if I hurt somepony? He tried to put these thoughts at the back of his mind, but still so many questions filled Mewtwo's mind. It was at this point in time that Twilight was at the very top of her bookshelf in the library, trying to find what was needed to help Mewtwo understand more about her world, and how it was run. Already there was a very large pile of books next to him. Mewtwo sighed and tried to find a way to focus his mind on more positive aspects of this plan. The sun was now beginning to rise, and everypony could be heard coming out of their houses for the first time of the day. The ponies that lived in Ponyville, other than Twilight and her friends, had not seen Mewtwo since he arrived. Mewtwo then suddenly remembered the grey coloured pegasus he met. Derpy. Mewtwo wondered whether he would see her again. He very much hoped so. Mewtwo felt a connection with Derpy. It was definitely friendship, although he did not think of it that way. He thought of it as only a 'similarity' between himself and Derpy. In a way, she was an outcast just like Mewtwo. Her differential features, such as her eyes, were apparently looked down upon by some ponies according to Derpy. Back in Mewtwo's previous world, his birth was ultimately looked down upon. His only purpose in life was to be an unequal insignificant; serving his creators and being nothing but their slaves. Mewtwo cringed, and tried not to think of his previous experiences. This caused him to hurt. A lot. As Mewtwo was left battling his thoughts, Twilight had just finished finding all the books needed for Mewtwo's lessons. There were twenty one books to be exact. Not even half of them were necessary for Mewtwo's teachings. Typical Twilight... "Now, these are just to get you started. I need to find times in my calendar to teach you, as well as continuing to work on the importance of friendship. Hey! Maybe this can help me with my studies! I've never tried to help somepony- well... um, 'anyone' try and make friends, so maybe this can also help me with my own studies! Also, I need to find time to learn from you! All about your world and how things are different in this world compared to yours! This is all so exciting!" Twilight waited for a response from Mewtwo, but there was none. She looked towards Mewtwo to see him closing his eyes with an anxious look on his face. Twilight thought he looked almost 'nervous'. She sighed graciousfully and put a helping hoof on Mewtwo's back. Mewtwo suddenly opened his eyes, and looked back at Twilight. This caused her to fall her hoof off his back and look very awkward. "Don't worry. Once we explain to everypony that you're not a threat and all you want is their acceptance, then everything should be just fine! Maybe... just for staying safe, you should probably try not to... use your powers while you're here in Ponyville? Just so you don't give everypony the wrong idea about yourself," Twilight stated. Mewtwo thought all of this was pointless. Even if the ponies were to accept him into their society, he knew that they still would not look or treat him the same anyhow. For this to even 'try' to work, he knew that his powers would have to cease. Intimidating the ponies was the last thing Mewtwo wanted. "This is acceptable," Mewtwo said. Twilight sighed with relief, but suddenly remembered that there was a small purple dragon still asleep upstairs. "SPIKE!" A loud groan could be heard upstairs, as Spike slowly made his way down to where Twilight and Mewtwo were standing. "Is it that time already?" Spike yawned. Twilight was not amused. "Spike, everypony is already up! Now I need you to mind the library while we're gone. Mewtwo and I are going out today!" Twilight said happily. Spike didn't look so happy. "Are you sure that's such a good idea Twilight? I mean, what if (no offence), Mewtwo were to stare at somepony and cause him or her to explode by that... weird blue eye thingy that he does?!" Spike asked nervously, trying not to anger the most powerful Pokemon that ever lived. Twilight just glared at Spike with annoyance. "Spike, it would be a lot better if you tried not to get US to explode by a single IRRITATED stare by Mewtwo!" Spike slowly turned towards Mewtwo. He let out an evil looking stare that caused Spike to scream very loudly and run back upstairs. Twilight let out a small giggle which then erupted into a laugh. Mewtwo had a very small smile. "Now, I think everything is set. Are you ready to see Ponyville for the first time??" Twilight asked very excitedly. Mewtwo let out a deep breath and sighed heavily. Whether this would work or not, he was prepared to give this plan a try at least. Whether the ponies would run away in terror by the sheer sight of him, or if he would finally find a place where he was accepted for who he was, Mewtwo was more than willing to find out. "I am ready". Chapter 9: Sweet Apple AcresMonday. 8:30am. Ponyville. The sun was shining, the birds were singing. Everypony was out in the town, enjoying the fresh morning air. Today seemed like any other day for them. Nothing out of the ordinary had happened in Ponyville since that strange meteorite landed a few days ago. Nopony had any idea what that was about, and didn't seem to mind much as well. It wasn't worth venturing into the Everfree Forest to find out. Cheerilee especially loved mornings in Ponyville. She loved experiencing the 'awakening' of the town. As always, Cheerilee headed over to Sugercube Corner for breakfast. She always enjoyed a 'sprinkled delight' before teaching her class every morning. Just as Cheerilee was about to enter, she remembered that she needed to pick up a series of books for her class this week. With that thought, she decided to head on over to Twilight's library instead. That way, she thought to herself, she could pick up her books AND also hopefully grab a nice book to read while eating her breakfast. The beautiful and busy atmosphere of the town was too captivating for Cheerilee, not realising a very large purple creature standing outside the library. She finally bumped into what she thought to be the owner of the library. She fell to the ground and felt a little dazed. "Oh I'm terribly sorry Twilight! I wasn't looking where I was going because I was too distracted by the beautiful atmosphere of the town. Actually, I'm glad I bumped into Twilight. Literally! Because I was hoping to -" As Cheerilee raised her head towards who she thought to be Twilight Sparkle, she saw a very large and intimidating creature, standing on two legs and staring directly at her. Cheerilee simply did what anypony would of done in her situation. Cheerilee's scream was heard throughout the entire town. Everypony ran to the source of the scream, wondering what was going on. Shortly afterwards, Ponyville was in complete chaos. Ponies were screaming and running, trying to get to their homes. It was a very similar experience to when Zecora would visit the town years ago. In a matter of seconds, all the doors were locked, and not a pony was seen in sight. Twilight had absolutely no idea what had just occured. She stepped out of the library and stood beside Mewtwo. "Ah, isn't this a beautiful morning?" Twilight said, gazing up towards the clear sunny sky. Mewtwo had not moved. His expression unchanged. Twilight's eyes then studied the town, and much to her surprise, nopony was out and about. "Huh, that's strange! I was sure that I could hear ponies out here. Where have they all gone?" Her eyes then turned to Mewtwo. "You already met them... didn't you." Twilight said in a very unsurprised manner. "Yes." Once again, Mewtwo's figure had not changed. His emotions were bland, his eyes straight, and his posture unmoved. This gave Twilight a confusing look. "It's like talking to a brick wall..." "Well then, I guess if everypony won't come to you, we must go to them!" Twilight said happily. And with that said, Twilight started walking in the direction of the town square. Mewtwo slowly followed. "Are you sure this is such a good idea?" Mewtwo asked coldly, "It seems that my presence here is exactly how I imagined." Twilight shook her head and looked back at Mewtwo, "Oh don't worry, they'll lighten up. Besides, I have a plan. Come on, let's go and see how Applejack is doing out on the farm..." 9:00am. Sweet Apple Acres. Applejack never felt so alive when she bucked for apples. The sun would shine, the apples would glisten, and the fresh air was unbelievable. Plus it kept her fit too! "This has ta be the best job ever!" Applejack thought. With each kick, came a bucket full of the reddest apples you could ever lay your eyes on. "Hey Sis!" A loud voice could be heard coming from over the hill. Applejack sighed deeply. "Oh, what does she want now!? Ah already told her that she couldn't go fishin' down at Froggy Bottom Bog." Apple Bloom could now be seen running down the hill towards Applejack. She sighed, and stopped what she what was troubleing her little sister. "Hey Sis! Ah was just wondering, if ah could -" "Let me guess, ya wanna go pickin' flowers in the Everfree Forest?" Applejack asked sarcastically, totally unsurprised if her little sister actually would say yes. "Ummm, actually, ah just wanted to see if ah could buck some apples with ya!" Apple Bloom beamed. Applejack was a little surprised. Apple Bloom hadn't really been interested in helping out around the farm. She was too busy climbing mountains and braving scorching deserts; going to all limits to find her destiny and be rewarded with a cutie mark. Although Applejack did have a little problem with other ponies helping her with her chores, she was happy to see that her little sister was eager to help out. "Ok sure! But ya do realise it ain't easy. Ya don't start bucking apples like Big McIntosh does in one day. Ya gotta work at it hard for quite some time..." Applejack assured her little sister. "Yeah yeah, don't worry! It looks easy! Ah could buck a hundred of these trees in seconds!" Apple Bloom said confidently. Applejack smirked, "Alrighty superpony, start with those smaller trees over yonder." Apple Bloom giggled excitedly and started running towards the trees that her sister pointed. "AND DON'T STRAIN YOURSELF!" As Applejack was about to continue bucking, she heard another voice coming from over the hill. It was Twilight. Applejack sighed once more. "Oh ponyfeathers. If Twilight volunteers ta help, then so help me -" Before Applejack could continue with her thought, she spotted the very large creature that had once almost tried to kill her and her friends, walking very slowly behind Twilight. Applejack was afraid, and shuddered by the meer sight of him. She knew of Twilight's plan to help Mewtwo 'fit in' with society, and was willing to help and see if this could actually work. "Hey Applejack! Need a hand?" Twilight asked happily. Mewtwo stood very tall behind her, like some kind of henchpony. Applejack looked up towards Mewtwo. His intimidating appearance and silent stare made Applejack very nervous. She swallowed up her pride, and managed to find the words to speak. "Uhh, n-no thanks T-Twilight! Everythin' is f-fine here at Sweet Apple Acres! Hehe..." Applejack trailed off. She had put on the biggest smile possible, obviously trying not to offend Twilight's 'guest'. "Oh Applejack, you don't have to worry about him! He is here to help out as well! Aren't you Mewtwo?" Twilight asked, giving Mewtwo a very happy look. Mewtwo looked down at Twilight, then back up towards Applejack. "I am here simply repay my actions for nearly destroying your entire town, and quite possibly your farm as well as the entire-" Mewtwo was cut off as Twilight cleared her throat and stomped very hard on Mewtwo's foot. It had no effect on him whatsoever. Unamused, he turned his head towards Twilight very quickly. Her appearance was very serious. She wanted her plan to work, but in order for it to work, she knew that Mewtwo had to be more positive towards everypony and not scare them off with his past and actions. "WHAT Mewtwo was trying to say, is that we are both here incase you need a helping hoof!" Twilight assured firmly. This was the last thing Applejack wanted. As much as she wanted Mewtwo to actually fit in, she didn't want to take the risk of having him around Sweet Apple Acres. What happened at Fluttershy's cottage and on top of the dragon mountain was spinning in Applejack's mind. She couldn't afford losing the farm. "Uhhh, no thanks Twilight. Ah think ah can handle everythin' here fer now! Besides, ah got Apple Bloom ta help me out! We've nearly finished anyway." Applejack stated calmly. Twilight looked behind her and saw A LOT of trees with shining red delicious apples filled in them. It would take all morning for Applejack to finish bucking these trees. "Oh. Well... okay, if you say so..." Twilight sighed and turned back towards Mewtwo, "Come on Mewtwo, let's head back into town." As Twilight turned and headed back in the direction of town, Mewtwo stood perfectly still. He observed all the trees filled with all the apples waiting to be bucked. Applejack was waiting for him to leave with Twilight. She was now quite some distance away. "Uhhh, M-Mewtwo? Are... you alright?" Applejack asked nervously. Mewtwo suddenly began to shade blue. Oh no. This was not good. Applejack knew what was coming. This is exactly what happened just before Mewtwo almost destroyed Fluttershy's cottage. She did not want this to happen here. "TWILIGHT!" Applejack screamed. Twilight turned her head back to see Mewtwo preparing for what they both thought to be the worst. As soon as Twilight saw what was about to happen, she began to run back to where Mewtwo was standing as fast as she could. "MEWTWO! Stop! What are you doing!?" As Twilight ran, Applejack pleaded with Mewtwo, "Please! Stop! Don't destroy what we have here! We've done nothin' wrong!" But Mewtwo only began to shade bluer and bluer. Applejack knew she couldn't stop him, but she was not going to run away and leave her farm to be destroyed. Applejack stood and closed her eyes as she prepared for the worst to happen. Twilight was not going to make it in time... It seemed like forever when Applejack closed her eyes. She opened them slowly to suddenly see empty buckets beginning to fly around and lie down underneath the filled apple trees. On their own. Without nopony to put them there. The buckets were levitating! Applejack didn't know what was happening. Only unicorns had the power to use levitational magic. But there were no unicorns around! Of course Twilight was there, but she was too far away to do anything! The only possible explanation was... Mewtwo. Mewtwo's arm was raised as many more buckets began to fly and lower themselves underneath the apple trees. His eyes were completely blue. Every apple on every tree began to shake from side to side, bearing the same blueish colour that Mewtwo was. And all at once, every single apple from every single tree fell from above and into the empty buckets. Applejack's jaw dropped straight to the ground. Rainbow Dash may clear the skies in ten seconds flat, but Mewtwo can buck apples in less than five. Mewtwo then turned back to normal and lowered his arm. Twilight had just arrived to see every tree in the orchard empty, and all the apples neatly placed in many different buckets. Twilight knew what had just happened. She grinned brightly and turned to Applejack. "Well then, I guess that you don't need our help after all!" Twilight smirked and once again turned back and headed towards Ponyville. "Come on Mewtwo, next stop: Carousel Boutique!" Mewtwo's expression and position had not changed. He gave a very small nod in respect to Applejack, and turned to follow Twilight back to Ponyville. As Twilight and Mewtwo were unseen from pony sight, Apple Bloom had just arrived on the scene. "Hey Sis! What in the hay just happened!? I was buckin' fer apples all fine, then all of a sudden a bucket comes out of nowhere, knocks me outta the way and the apples just fall into it as if by magic!" ... "... uh, Applejack?" Apple Bloom did not realize that her big sister's mouth was still completely lowered to the ground. Chapter 10: TimeTime is a curious thing isn't it? I mean, in reality it has been years, but it feels only like a few days. One year it has been since Mewtwo arrived in the magical land known as 'Equestria'. He made the choice so long ago to find that special place to call his own, and after many years of searching, he had finally found it. Equestria. Peace. Friendship. Throughout the time he had been living in Equestria he made many friends in his travels. Although he did not come to expect or ask for it, he did eventually receive it. And he certainly did not mind. Mewtwo learned that friendship is what makes this land powerful, and so the friendships that he made with the ponies made him grow stronger every day. So strong that there may have been a few broken windows along the way... What has happened to Mewtwo this year you might ask? Well then, he got off to a bumpy start, that's for sure. The idea to bring Mewtwo into pony society and interact was indeed a bold choice by Twilight Sparkle. But she did have her mind and heart in the right place, and it certainly payed off. Mewtwo began by doing simple errands for ponyfolk around Ponyville. Whether it be by helping wrap up winter, simple chores or by helping ponies in times of turmoil, Mewtwo was always there to offer aid. One time there was a scream coming from the Everfree Forest and as quick as a flash, Mewtwo leaped into action and cleared off the Timber Wolves with his Psychic powers for trying to eat three little crusading fillies for dinner. Ponyville began to get used to Mewtwo's presence around town. And over time, the ponies actually enjoyed his company. Twilight's friends also softened up to him. Applejack was always more than happy for Mewtwo to help out around the orchard. Even though he could clear the trees in a matter of seconds, Applejack still enjoyed the feeling of bucking and hard work. Rarity was probably the pony that gave Mewtwo the least amount of work out of the mane six, mainly because of her Generosity. There was one time when Rarity was going through a phase to find and create formal attire that would make Mewtwo 'shine across Equestria'. Let's just say it ended badly... Of course, Fluttershy was very timid and somewhat 'terrified' of Mewtwo's large and intimidating appearance to begin with. But over time, they both actually began to form a strong connection. Strangely, Mewtwo was actually quite good around animals. The first day he went to Fluttershy's cottage, all the woodland creatures took quite a big liking to Mewtwo, and followed him around the whole time he was there. Animals definitely helped their friendship grow over time. Rainbow Dash was very competitive around Mewtwo. When she found out for the first time that he could actually fly without wings, she was ecstatic. The race between Rainbow Dash and Mewtwo was probably one of the biggest events in Ponyville history. Pony VS. Pokemon. Who would win?! It was tied. You heard me right, it was a tie. Although Rainbow Dash was the favourite to win, Mewtwo had this race won the whole time. It was only with Rainbow Dash's determination and heart to perform another Sonic Rainboom to catch up to Mewtwo and pass the finish line. Pinkie Pie who was the flag carrier, did a playback in her mind and found out that it was a tie. The biggest tie you could wear on your suit while you are going to the Grand Galloping Gala to have the best night ever but instead have the worst night ever because no one would dance with you or party like we do back in Ponyville but then have actually the best night ever in the end and- PINKIE PIE!!!! I'M TRYING TO TYPE! *Sigh* Speaking of Pinkie Pie, of course she took a big liking to Mewtwo. The first party that she threw for Mewtwo was definitely the shortest, but still the funnest. It was still at this time that ponies were afraid of Mewtwo, and nopony would even dare to talk to him, let alone see him. But still, Pinkie always thought of Mewtwo as friend, and still does to this day. And as for Twilight, the time and effort she put in to making Mewtwo apart of Ponyville society was indeed phenomenal. The time where she would sit down and enjoy a good book was spent showing Mewtwo around Ponyville and trying to 'convince' ponies that he was no threat to them, especially to her own friends. Now that took effort... For Mewtwo himself, he did not know what to think about all of this. Was Twilight's plan actually working? Well, yes it was. Rather well in fact. He proved himself to be very useful around Ponyville, and somehow a good friend to many ponies. The Grand Galloping Gala was the talk of Equestria. Twilight thought of this as the perfect chance for Mewtwo to meet Princess Celestia for the first time. Although the Princess had been regularly keeping in touch concerning Mewtwo's conditition, she still had not found the time to meet this strange new creature that landed in the Everfree Forest. Mewtwo was made the honorary guest of honor at the Grand Galloping Gala. The meeting of the Princess did get off to a shaky start. Both powerful beings were very aware of one another, and could definitely sense the amount of power in each other So of course, both of them were a little jumpy of each other. But the power that these two had actually drew them closer together. They talked about how great power comes with great responsibility, and how the lives and fortunes of others are more important than themselves. Both Princess and Mewtwo came to respect one another, and Princess Celestia knew that Mewtwo could be trusted. But she knew that Mewtwo was like a time bomb. Push him a little over the edge, and he will explode. The night ended with Mewtwo managing to stop what could have been the worst night ever for Twilight and her friends. When Prince Blueblood 'accidentally' bumped the Celestia statue on it's side causing it to fall, Mewtwo had his hand up and caught the statue with his Psychic powers. Rainbow Dash did have a good whine because she wanted to be the one save the day and impress the Wonderbolts, but everypony was just grateful that the entire castle didn't fall down. It could have ended up a whole lot worse... The events that I am about to share with you did happen to Mewtwo, Twilight and her friends, but now all wish to forgive and forget. This is the story of Discord's return to Equestria. Don't get me wrong! To this day, Mewtwo and Discord are actually very close friends since he was reformed, both having the utmost respect for each other. But back when Discord first returned, things could not have been any worse for Mewtwo and Equestria... You probably all know how it started. Chocolate rain in Ponyville, strange weather patterns, complete chaos everywhere. Twilight and her friends, and especially Mewtwo were called to Canterlot to meet with Princess Celestia regarding the problems in Ponyville. The problem, was an old foe of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. The mischievous spirit of Disharmony: Discord. Now Princess Celestia's plan was to use the Elements of Harmony to once again stop Discord, as she had already done in the past. But also to have Mewtwo there present, to use his Psychic powers if necessary. But when Princess Celestia revealed the crate in which the elements were contained, they had vanished. A light cackle was heard throughout the throne room, only to reveal it's source to Discord himself. He stated that the Elements of Harmony are through a series of twists and turns, and then simply back where they began. Twilight believed the elements to be hiding in the palace labyrinth. When Discord revealed his true form outside the labyrinth, he saw Mewtwo for the very first time. It was strange, because Discord had absolutely no idea what this creature was. But he knew one thing: It was powerful. Too powerful for Discord to have his little fun. So just to be safe, with the click of his fingers, he turned Mewtwo into stone, just like he had been for the past one thousand years. Twilight and her friends were horrified by Discord's actions, but he just laughed. "I did say I don't turn PONIES into stone, didn't I?" It wouldn't last long however. Even with Discord's magic, Mewtwo's stone was beginning to crack. But Discord was one step ahead. You see, he knew exactly how Mewtwo's power was so strong. Friendship. The magic of friendship made Mewtwo even more powerful than before, with his friendship with Twilight and her friends, even though he did not know it himself. So how does Discord cut Mewtwo's power? He gets rid of his 'friends' of course! One by one, through a series of twist and turns, Twilight and her friends were all manipulated and turned into their opposite selves. Lies, Unhappiness, Greed, Mean, Disloyal, Hate. Mewtwo's power was weakened by Discord's spell, resulting in him staying stood in stone. Discord had a very special place for Mewtwo's statue in the center of Ponyville. It was not until Twilight finally discovered what her friendship meant to her, that she found the courage to reunite with her friends and break Discord's spell, using the Elements of Harmony to turn him back into stone. With a sudden cry, Mewtwo broke free from his stone prison, and also reunited with Twilight and her friends. Discord had been stopped, and harmony flourished throughout Equestria once more. Mewtwo had changed. Ever since Discord was stopped, Mewtwo took a good long look at himself and what has happened since arriving in Equestria. Things could not have been so perfect for Mewtwo. This is what he had wanted! Wasn't it? He did not know. He did not know what to think about any of this. Was this what he was finally looking for? Through everything that has happened to him in his poor miserable life? Mewtwo gathered Twilight and her friends, and announced that he was leaving Ponyville. And Equestria. He wanted to explore this new world. To still see if there was something worth while out there, other than what he had here in Ponyville. He was unsure whether he would return, but he stated that if he eventually did, then it would be because he knew that this is where he finally belonged. Twilight was of course shocked and saddened by Mewtwo's decision to possibly never return, but she eventually agreed to his idea and praised him for it. She didn't want Mewtwo kept here against his will. She wanted him to be happy. And she knew by now that Mewtwo did not pose as a threat, and would not harm anything without acting in self defense. Pinkie Pie of course, planned a going away party for Mewtwo. Everypony was so excited, and now more and more ponies turned up because they finally knew that Mewtwo was harmless to them. And when the day finally came, Pinkie had prepared the library in secret for a massive surprise party. The time was about to arrive when Mewtwo would set foot in the library, and the balloons and party cannon were ready and loaded. Everypony was ready. But that's just it. He never showed. Mewtwo left Ponyville without saying goodbye. Mewtwo had his reasons. One being the fact that he wanted to know if he would miss them or not. The other was him not being satisfied with himself. So as everypony waited for Mewtwo to arrive for Pinkie's surprise party, Mewtwo slipped away into the night. He would not see them again for a very long time. Until the day they needed him. And he needed them. Chapter 5: Solitude"Did you just see that, girls?! It came from the mountain!" Twilight and her friends went outside to begin their quest, only to find an explosion coming from the very large mountain they had recently traveled to, to convince a very large red dragon to awaken from its disturbing slumber and find another place to rest. It seemed like it was back, except this time it was not alone. "What in tarnation was that?!" Applejack startled. "I'm not sure, but I have a hunch..." Twilight knew exactly what it was, but didn't want to panic her friends. "Come on girls, lets go check it out!" Fluttershy made a soft squeal and dived into the closest bushes. Twilight simply rolled her eyes and looked back towards her friends. "Now, we need to find the supplies from our last trip. Okay first, a checklist for the supplies: CHECK! Now lets look here... we need a map, books, LOTS of books! And also we need -" As Twilight was about to finish her list of supplies from the checklist, she looked up at her friends to see them all completely ignoring her and focusing their full attention towards the mountain, with their mouths wide open. "Ummm, what are you all staring at now?" Rainbow Dash stood in absolute confusion, and then muttered something along the lines of: "The dragon. It's... leaving." Twilight looked back up towards the mountain to see a very large red object which obviously had to be the dragon flying up behind the mountain and into the distance. This was all very strange. The ponies had never seen a dragon leaving its home by its own free will. Something else was definitely up on that mountain. Something powerful. Twilight and her friends continued to stare silently at the mountain, waiting for something- or someone else to reveal itself. Then it happened. All of a sudden, a small figure could be seen flying away from the mountain, shooting up into the sky and reaching past the clouds. A blue streak of light followed it, then suddenly disappeared. Mewtwo. "What was he doing all the way up on the mountain?" Twilight thought, gazing upwards towards the clouds that had just engulfed Mewtwo. She then gulped, thinking about all the possible things that he could have done to that poor red dragon. Twilight then shook her head, and turned back to her friends. "Come on girls, we HAVE to get up to that mountain!" Mewtwo sat on the distant cloud with Derpy, listening and responding to her stories and 'some' knowledge she had about her world known as 'Equestria'. Mewtwo was amazed by how this world was constructed, and protected from danger. Even though there were a few incidents over the years involving an eternal night, chocolate rain, and shape-shifting ponies, the problems still managed to solve themselves. Somehow. "Your world is... truly a wonder to behold," Mewtwo said, gazing towards the horizon, "but I feel that I do not deserve to live in your world. I... do not feel as though I belong here." "Well from what you were telling me before, it seems to me that you think that you don't belong anywhere!" Derpy exclaimed. Mewtwo sighed and looked back towards Derpy. "I do not think you understand. I... am an abomination, in both this world and mine. I have done such terrible things that I can never be proud of. Who would be so willing to accept a creature like me in this world?" Mewtwo asked doubtfully. "I think YOU will understand me when I say that us ponies are the most accepting and friendly creatures you will ever know! You will be surprised at how far friendship can go in this world Mewtwo, even if you are a little bit different. Whether it be of different skin, different eyes, different noses, different ears, even different creatures! You can always find a place to belong here," Derpy said, smiling. Mewtwo once again stared at Derpy with such amazement and wonder. "Why?... Why are you helping me?" "Because that's what friends do!" Derpy replied instantly. Mewtwo was lost for words. This pony seemed... familiar. Too familiar. "You... remind me of someone I once knew... a long time ago..." Mewtwo trailed off and looked back towards the sun. He then closed his eyes and focused his mind back to his past. He was alone. Alone in the dark. A sudden orange light captivated Mewtwo. The light began to form itself into some sort of figure. The figure of a little girl. ".... Amber..." "What was that?" Derpy asked curiously. Mewtwo focused his mind back to the present time and shook his head. "It's nothing," Mewtwo said, causing Derpy to look at him very curiously. "Okay, whatever you say!" Derpy then let out a small giggle. Mewtwo decided that it was now time to change the subject. "Why were you all the way out here on this cloud by yourself?" Mewtwo asked. "Why is this cloud separated from the others?" Derpy gulped and looked nervously towards the ground, "Ahhh. Well um, you see, I was told to move this cloud with a bunch of other pegasus ponies. But I seem to be having a little... difficulty moving this one. It's very big and heavy, and all the other ponies have already finished moving their clouds into position... but hey, don't worry about it! I'm used to it!" Mewtwo started at the other clouds that seemed to be in 'position'. It was as if they were simply placed there with hands in the sky. This world continued to impress Mewtwo. They were however, quite some distance away from Derpy. He knew that she would definitely not make it in time before nightfall. Mewtwo knew what he had to do. He then closed his eyes, and ever so slowly began to levitate off the cloud. "Ummm, Mewtwo? What are you doing?" His eyes suddenly then turned blue. Derpy was very puzzled by what was going on. She suddenly felt the cloud beneath her beginning to shake. Derpy was completely startled by this and flew off the cloud instantly. She then realised that the cloud wasn't preparing to shock her, it was moving! Mewtwo was focusing his mind on the cloud and moving it swiftly across the sky and placing it ever so gently next to the other clouds. Derpy was completely lost for words. She had never seen anything like this before, from anypony! "I- I- uh- um-" "Now you have seen the full potential of my powers. Now you see why I must not belong. It is because I am a threat: a danger to you and everything here. This is why I must live far from your world. Because if I am to live among you, you may never live in peace." Mewtwo then rose up from the clouds and began to levitate above Derpy. "Thank you. For everything you have done... You are a very unique pony, Derpy. Do not forget or lose your love and tolerance for all creatures. It is with your uniqueness that makes you so special, and who you truly are deep inside..." With that said, Mewtwo nodded his head in respect, and suddenly flew off into the distance, disappearing from out of sight. Derpy knew he did not want to leave her, but he thought it was for her and everypony's protection that he be left alone in isolation and as far away from them as possible. Derpy was once again left alone. All by herself. Derpy didn't want to lose her new friend, but if he insisted that it was for everypony's protection that he leave, it was probably for the best. As she flew home, she decided to make a promise to herself. A promise that she would see Mewtwo again. After all, she did not thank him for his generous help with the cloud! Mewtwo once again felt alone. Even though Derpy was the only creature in this world so far to accept him for who he truly was, he still felt like a threat to her, and to everypony else here for that matter. He wanted to interact with the ponies, and try to co-exist with them. Mewtwo knew now he would never do anything to harm them, but he was afraid he would somehow make another mistake like he did with the dragon. He did not want to drive the ponies away, or disturb their perfect and peaceful lives. He just wanted everyone to be happy. Mewtwo decided that the mountain he had previously disturbed was the perfect place to call his home for the time being, to live there away from the ponies in peace until he could find his true home. His true calling. Whether it be in this world, his previous world or the next, Mewtwo would not rest until he could finally find a place where he could truly belong. As Mewtwo drew closer to the mountain, he saw the opening to the cave that the red dragon had once called its home. Mewtwo landed softly in the clearing outside the cave, and once again looked over towards the horizon, as the sun began to finally set. "For these creatures, life is as it should be. They were born in this world. It is their home. They belong here. I do not..." Mewtwo sighed, and turned away from the natural wonder and beauty of Equestria, and ventured into the cave to find a place to rest. Suddenly, Mewtwo could feel his body beginning to close in on itself. Everything turned purple. He looked to see himself being trapped inside a very large type of prison. A round purple ball. "What is this? What is happening?!" Mewtwo turned to find the source of this strange power. It was her again. The purple one, alongside her five pony associates. Twilight and her friends had found him. Would he ever find peace? "Okay Mewtwo, stop right there! We want answers!"
PrologueAsh and his friends tried absolutely everything to release Mewtwo from his electrical prison from above.
"Follow me Mewtwo, I have an idea!"
Chapter 7: First AttemptThe journey back to Twilight's house was a very quiet one, but at the same time very hurried. "I... think it's time we took you to see Princess Celestia..."
Chapter 8: PreparationTwilight woke up to a sudden start.
