Chapters New Year
There was no use in trying to hide it. I hated my life. I would simply go day by day, week by week and month by month putting up with the same crap as always. School was an absolute pain as I would constantly fail my tests. It wasn,t that I was incapable of doing them, I knew all the answers. Instead I would just draw pictures of cats and boats on my tests. I could ace each and every test but there would be no point. I couldn't advance in life. I had no money for college, though I'm quite a few years from graduating, and none of my skills were suited for jobs that I could get. People think that I'm dumb and so they won't let me live my life. My family provided no comfort. I got punished for my atrocious grades and so I could never see the few friends I had. But tomorrow is new year's eve.Mabye I'll get a fresh start.
I woke up after a rough day and beating from my class"mates". I look at my clock beeping in the energetic way it does. 7:00.
"Crap" I say to myself "I'm late for school."
I still go to prevent myself from breaking the law. I realize that it's a holiday and hit the snooze button to silence my clock, whose life seems better than mine. I get up, go downstairs, grab some frozen waffles and head back to my room. I normally would lay in my bed after I ate and then fall asleep on a holiday. Normally. This time however I used my computer watched some My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic and read My Little Dashie for the tenth time. It helps me get through my days, thought nobody else knows since I keep my door locked during this time, although it really just makes me wish more that I was there and not here.I look at my watch.
"Eleven fifty" I said in a rather bland voice "I guess I'll have lunch early."
And so I got up out of my chair and slowly walked to the door. I could hear noises of laughter and games and music emenating from the living room. I open the door and there I see friends and family of my parentsas well as another thing. It was dark outside. I checked my watch again. 11:52 P.M.! Though I never wanted to do anything with my family the always offered me to join. This was a first. They went a whole day without trying anything. No knockig on my door. No sending me and E-mail. Just nothing. I stood there and watched as there was an akward silence. I checked my watch. 11:54 P.M. I turned around and locked myself away again. At eleven fifty-five the party picked up again. I counted down the minutes. 11:56 P.M. I began to drift asleep. 11:57 P.M. I try to resist my sleep but I barely manage to. 11:58 My eyelids begin to fall down. 11:59 P.M. I see something falling outside through my cracked window. A shooting star. I cast my wish. I fall asleep.
Dreams DO Come True
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I heard loud shouting nearby. It must have been the party. Then I wake up to find that my bed was no longer there. Instead, there was nothing. I fell. I only dropped a few feet but when I landed in the snow I let out a loud "ow". This was because I hadn't landed on nice fluffy snow. No, I landed on the hard and icy, pain inducing, freezing, soaking wet, you will be knocked out if you land on it, snow. And thats exactly what happened. But the events that occured before I was knocked out were very confusing. I heard many familiar voices.
"Looks like we got another one."
"Oh boy! That means I can throw a welcome party!"
"Now hold on sugarcube. We have to get this her' fella to the hospital first."
"Rainbow, could you be a dear and get a strecher?"
"Sure anything to help out a human."
"Will he be ok?"
"I hope so."
I woke up just breifly to see a group of doctors racing around in a panic. The doctors look strange in a way, almost...horse-like.
"Could it be?" I said.
This got the doctors attention as they rushed over to the side of the bed I was on. Then I saw another horse-like figure walk into the room. This one was clearly not a doctors as they didn't have a uniform on and instead was rainbow colored. The rainbow colored horse-like figure began to talk in a concerend voice.
"How's he doing?"
"He just woke up but is still drowsy from the medication." replied the doctor closest to me.
"Oh good, I just couldn't live it down if he was gone because he came here."
"The damage was bad but a little magic and he should be better by tomorrow."
"Great!"
I then realized who the rainbow colored horse-like figure was. It was Rainbow Dash!
"Rai-" I was cut off by the voice of another pony.
"Oh boy is he awake yet if he isn't he needs to wake up soon so I can throw him his welcome party I mean I brought my party cannon and a cake and friends and games and all sorts of other fun stuff like a map of Ponyville and cookies and cupcakes and lots and lots and lots of other stuff!"
Pinkie Pie, I thought to myself. Then I thought I must be in Ponyville. This was the best news I got my whole life! Finally a place to escape to and have fun. My thoughts were interupted.
"Excuse me, but I believe you were trying to say something befor Pinkie Pie interupted" said Rainbow Dash.
I was finally not drowsy but in a little pain.
"Yes" I began to speak " I was trying to say Rainbow Dash."
"Really" said Rainbow not suprised by my knowlege of her name.
Just then I saw the white double doors of the room swing open and coming through were two other ponies. I imedietly recognized them as Twilight Sparkle and Princess Celestia. The doctors to both sides of my bed stepped back and bowed to the princess. I sat up in my bed and did the same. I figured I should make a good first impression by being polite.
"That isn't nessesary" said the princess "you are in bad enough shape as it is."
Twilight began, " I'm sure you have a lot of questions like why are you here, how did you get here and when you can go back."
"No. I don't care how I got here or why I'm here but, I am interested in knowing how long until I get back." I told her.
"Exactly one year" Twilight responded with quick timing, almost as if she knew what I wanted to know.
"A whole year. That's great."
"We'll explain more tomorrow" said the princess.
I began to feel drowsy again and within moments I fell asleep.
Not The First
When I had awoken the next day I was feeling much better with almost no pain and just a slight headache. I was greeted by Rainbow Dash, who looked as if she hadn't gotten any sleep all night. She asked me a few question like how I was feeling, if there was anything she could get for me and other usual things. The only thing I couldn't figure out was why she was more concerned than any other pony. I was about to ask her when I recieved a letter from Princess Celestia saying that I was supposed to meet her at Twilight's house as soon as I was ready. I had gotten up and the doctors did a few test such as testing my reflexes, checking my height and my weight and other basics. After they had done their testing they deemed me ready to leave. Rainbow and I left the hospital and began walking towards Twilight's house and I was quite suprised. Just about everypony I saw greeted me with a hello but none of them were suprised that a creature so different was near them. Were they just that nice that they didn't care what I looked like. I thought, mabye I'm not the first human they've seen.
After a short walk and many greetings we reached Twilight's house. Before I could get a chance to knock on the door it swung open and I was greeted by Twilight and the princess. I got inside and sat down but before I could ask a question Princess Celestia began to explain, everything.
"First you must know that we did not bring you here."
"I know it was probably by accident, right."
"No. It wasn't an accident that brought you here. It was you."
"Come again."
"That's right. You see when people make a wish when they are at they're worst time, it creates a special kind of magic. This magic isn't very strong most of the time but when it is...it has a way of bending events too make the wish come true. However, you wish was different. You had nothing to keep you going and so this special magic created a portal to bring you here so you would."
"But why am I going to be here for exactly one year?" I asked due to the fact that I had no clue how they knew how long my stay was.
"That is because of me. After the first human came here I used my magic to not only make the stay of other humans who came here shorter but, to also make it so there was no time they were gone missing."
"Wait you said after the first human came here. Who was the first, how did they get here and where are they now?"
"Very well. Their name was Brian, he came here because of Rainbow Dash and he is currently missing."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I remember in My Little Dashie a man named Brian was brought to Ponyville by Rainbow Dash but it was all just a made up story! I looked around the room waiting for somepony to say that it was a lie, but instead I saw Rainbow Dash. Her head was hung down and her eyes were closed. From this I could tell it was the truth. Now I knew why Rainbow was so concerned about me earlier. Because I was a human. I then thought, I'm in Ponyville and nopony knows what I'm like. I could get a truly fresh start. I would have to make a good impression though.
"When did he leave and where was he going?" I asked the princess.
"He left a month ago and he was going to a far off town nowhere near Ponyville or Canterlot."
I got up and began towards the door. Rainbow got up too and followed me. I headed to the train station and asked if Brian had gotten on the train a month earlier. They reported that he had and he went to Canterlot. I figured he got on a different train at Canterlot and continued from there. We borded the next train to Canterlot though I was a little embaressed that Rainbow had to buy me a ticket. The train ride wasn't too long and was rather silent although Rainbow did ask me one question.
"How did you know about my dad?"
I didn't tell here before that I knew about them but I guess she was able to connect the dots. I began.
"He...he wrote stories about the two of you. About when he found you and your baking and when you found out who you really were and how you made up...and about how you had to leave and how he came to Ponyville."
"Wow. He really did all of that."
"Yes."
Trying
We had arived in Canterlot at sunset and many of the ponies were suprised to see me. After all, they didn't live near humans and I'm certian that they thought I looked wierd. Rainbow and I would have gotten on the next train immedietly but it was down do to engine troubles. Since I knew we would be in Canterlot for a while we went to the nearest inn and got a room to stay in. Again I was embaressed that Rainbow had to pay for me.
"Thanks for paying for me again," I said as we entered our room.
"No problem. Besides you're helping me find my dad."
"About that. Why didn't you go searching earlier for him?"
I just said it. I quickly thought about it. Why did I ask? Why did I bring up that she did nothing? Mabye she did and couldn't find him. I am so stupid!
"It's...it's because...because I couldn't. The princess wouldn't let me and used her magic to stop me. I was able to come with you because her magic has no effect on humans or anypony around them if they don't want it to."
"Oh."
I was amazed by this new information. Humans could resist the magic of Princess Celestia. This was amazing.
"By the way," my mind jumped from one thought to another as it often does" how much money do we have left?"
"Enough for one more train ride."
Then my stomach grumbled at just the wrong time. Rainbow's did too. We both started laughing at the irony of the situation. Then we stopped, looked at each other as we realized we had no food and for some reason we laughed more. The next day it wasn't very funny as we were even hungrier than before and the train wouldn't be fixed until tonight. Unfortunately that meant we would have no place to spend the day at since we ran out of money for the inn. Our day was rough as we spent most of it walking around the town and see what the locals were doing. There was a fashion show but neither of us even wanted to attend. There was a grand opening of a resturaunt but we had no money we could use so we didn't bother with it. Then we hit a bit of luck as we found some money on the ground which we could use to buy a little bit of food, for one of us that is. Naturally we both felt obligated to let the other eat since Rainbow paid for me and I was helping her find her dad. We eventually decided to split the food we got but this was a bad idea. The food we got was so little that after we ate we were even hungrier than before. We had found out that Brian was going to a far off town called Honeyville and at last we got on the train. It was like the last ride but much longer. Again I was asked a question by Rainbow but this time it was about me.
"Hey I didn't catch your name before. What is it."
"Oh...uh," I had a bit of a block in my mind,"Levi."
"Human names aren't very descriptive."
"You've got that right."
I let out a little chuckle. We had finally reached Honeyville though we couldn't tell we were there due to, well the fact that there wasn't a town or even any buildings. It seemed that everypony there thought they were in a town called Honeyville. Could we just not see the town. Or were they just seeing the town.

We walked up to the first pony we saw and asked him what he was doing. We got no response from him and he kept doing whatever it was that he was doing. We asked the next pony what they were doing. No response. We went to pony after pony but none of them even noticed we were there. This was starting to become strange. They all were doing the same thing. Walking to one side of the "town", grabbing something that wasn't there and going to the other side to place the thing they got. Then we saw something different. Another pony perhaps. He walked by each other pony, telling them they're doing a good job and to keep working. He then walked up to us, slowly. I caught a glimpse of his cutie mark. It was a beehive surrounded by black smoke. What could his talent possibly be. I thought. Honey. The use smoke to get rid of the bees. The strange pony began to talk.
"Howdy. The name's Buzz H Oney. I haven't seen critters like you fellas 'round these parts since fer'ever."
Rainbow Dash began to speak,"We aren't from around here. We came from Ponyville and we're looking for-"
I gave Rainbow a nudge to stop her. With such a strange pony I knew we shouldn't give away our motives too soon as that would leave us open to manipulation and lies. That is not why we came here.
"So you were lookin' fer what," said Buzz trying to move the conversation along.
"A place to stay. We just heard Honeyville was so nice during this time," Rainbow finished.
"I'm sorry to say we ain't got no vacancy here in Honeyville. I'll tell a what, I'll get you two some tents and sleepin' bags and ya'll can stay just outside Honeyville."
"Thank you for your hospitality," I told him.
He did just as he said he would do. He got us the tents and sleeping bags and gave us a place to sleep that was apparently just outside of Honeyville. The next day we got up early, not by choice but by Buzz. He had decided to give us the "grand tour" and so we went along. We had to follow him very precisely to make sure we weren't walking into walls or other things. That worked for the most part. However when we got to the bar the "doors" opened when Buzz went in and closed on me. He mentioned that I was pretty tough if I could take that hit and keep walking. This was getting old. The most akward part was when we were offered a meal of food from the bar. We of course declined the offer but our stomachs said otherwise. So we ate the "food" although Buzz was confused by how big bites we took and how sometimes we were chewing with no food. It was now that I found out that though this town was nonexistant, Buzz was semi-trustworthy so I told him the real reason we were here.
"You don't say. Come to think of it we had a fella visit from Ponyville 'bout a month ago. He was pretty strange though. He look a lot like, what was yer name, Levi. But bigger and older."
"Really!" Rainbow shouted "Where did he go?"
"I'm not sure exactly where but I did see him head north."
North
Well we went the way we were told to by Buzz and he sent us off with some "food", wich we thanked him for anyways. Now when he said north we thought it was going to be a short walk and we would see something. WE. WERE. WRONG. We walked north for a mile, nothing. Another mile, nothing. A third mile, nothing. Worst of all we were in a barren wasteland with nothing but cactus spread miles apart. Now normally I would have gotten water from ANY of those cactus but, they were covered in so many thorns that I would die trying. Now we were starving and thirsty. Then I had a thought. Why didn't we bring any supplies? Oh well. We walked for another mile. Surprisingly we weren't dead. In bad shape, yes. Dead, no.
"Hey Rainbow Dash, could you mabye move some clouds and make it rain?" I asked.
"Sorry. I,m too tired to fly and there aren't any clouds to move" she replied sadly.
"Oh, ok."
I could tell she was disappointed that she couldn't help with the clouds that she began to fly just to look for one. Unfortunately she couldn't fly and instead she hovered and crashed She was exausted and couldn't move anymore. I was suprised that I could still keep going as my endurance was awful outside of a wastland. I guess it was because of the my diet on Earth. Hi calorie, high fat, high protien and high salt. Now on Earth that diet can make you look a little, well, fat. But in a hot wastland it is the most useful diet ever. Unfortunately, Rainbow didn't have the same diet as me She ate plants and desserts. Short term energy. So I bent down and picked up Rainbow then began to carry her. I didn't have to carry her for long as we came to a stopped train. I walked up to the train and asked the conductor why they stopped. He was a bit caught off gaurd by my appearance but he replied that they were having engine troubles. I assume he could see we were on the brink of death and he offered for us to come in the train and have some food and some water. I gladly excepted and the first thing I did was get some water for Rainbow as she was in worse condition than me. After that we FINALLY got some real foor and we ate. And ate. And ate. We had finally regained all of our strength and we left after we thanked the conductor about 50 times. We walked for a mile. Another mile. A third mile. We came to something a little different. A sign. It said, WARNING, DRAGONS! Well we weren't going to let that stop us. Besides the sign was just warning us there were dragons and not telling us we would actually see any dragons. So we went past the sign and suddenly we say the most suprising thing ever. Lush plantlife and mountains appeared out of nowhere. Not only that but also, dragons. So we did the first thing that came to mind and went into a cave to avoid certain death. In the cave there was only a dim light but we saw the most amazing treasures that shined too brightly for this amount of light. But that wasn't even the most amazing thing we saw. In the far corner of the cave I could just barely see the figure of, a man! Rainbow Dash quickly recognized the man as her dad and she flew over to hiw as fast as she could, unable to contain her excitement.
"Daddy!" she shouted.
"Dashie!" he replied, unable to contain his excitement.
I knew how he felt at this time when his Dashie got to him. His heart exploded. Twice. And mine did too.
He began to speak after he saw me, "And who is this?"
"This is the man who brought me here to find you."
"I'm far from a man and I didn't do very much." I told him.
"Well either way you brought my Dashie to me and that's all that matters," he looked behind me, "Shi-" he cut himself off considering I was a bit too young for that language.
That word was very appropriate for this situation as behind me was a dragon. The escape was easier than I had originaly thought. I mean all I had to do was throw something shiny and he chased after it. We had finally got back to Ponyville and we were greeted by not one, not two but three parties. A welcome to Ponyville party, a welcome back to Ponyville party and a reunion party. I hoped every day wasn't like the past few and at the same time, I did.
The Second New Year
Well after the adventure of saving Rainbow Dash's dad things be gan to settle down. I enjoyed doing the things the ponies liked to do. I even helped to change the season from winter to spring. I had also made sure to get some baking lessons. At first I was terrible but, I eventually got better and was one of the best bakers in Ponyville. I enjoyed the summer sun festival and everyponies' birthdays although Pinkie was a little upset when she found out she missed my birthday and so she decided to thow me the biggest party ever. Not much else happened. I attended one of Rainbow's races which she won easily. Not much else happened.
It was finally New Year's Eve and everyone, including me, was wishing I could stay longer. 11:50 P.M. I wanted to get a picture of all of us together. We had all gathered around, except for Spike who took the picture, and Spike set the timer for five seconds as he came running over and tripped. 11:52 P.M. Pinkie Pie felt it was nessecary to throw me a going away party which I declined. 11:54 P.M. We exchanged our final goodbyes and every person and pony and dragon there got a little teary, even the princess. 11:58 P.M. I began to speak.
"I know...this is a little early...but...happy new year."
11:59 P.M.
I awoke from my bed thinking, did it actually happen. I looked to my left and there it was. A picture of every citizen of Ponyville...and me.
Epilouge
I went on to live my life. I guess my time in Ponyville changed me a little. I turned my grades around with my new hope for something good. After I graduated I started my own small buisness, just one bakery in one town. I wasn't the most succsessful person, but I did my enough money to get by and by my self a few things once in a while. I often wish I could go back to Ponyville but never as much I had wanted to twenty years ago.
