The Chosen names prologue
As the silence crept into the audience, Jazz heart raced as he waited for the names. Thoughts raced though his head, only Octavia one of the best rated string bass players, sat quietly and said nothing. Finally, the announcer spoke, "the winners of the 80th annual symphonic local finals are, Jazz and Octavia!" The audience cheered loudly for their two finalists. We both stood up and quietly walked to the stage, and the announcer placed the medals on their necks.
As we both trotted out the back-stage door, we we're taken bye carriage to the palace to have our own rooms for the Equestrian finals. As we were flying I just could not sleep, my mind raced, and I looked over and saw Octavia peacefully lying her head on my shoulder, sleeping. I just stopped, and all my thoughts we're pushed away. I tried to shift over a little to get comfortable, but she would wake up if I did. So I just lied my head on her's and drifted off to sleep.
As I awoke, I completely forgot that Octavia was sleeping. I herd her shift and when she awoke and realized she was on my shoulder she shot straight up. A blush shone across her face and she spoke in a shaky voice, "I apologize for that..." I remained calm and replied, "its alright I didn't mind." When she herd me say that her blush went into a deeper red.
We finally arrived at the palace and we trotted out of the carriage and we were beckoned bye a small stallion. He inspected both of us and finally spoke, "congratulations for making it this far in the finals. If you will please follow me I will show you to both of your rooms." Octavia and I both did what he said and grabbed our stuff, and trotted after him.
He slowed down as we got to the room our eyes grew twice their size, and we looked at each other. I turned to the tour guide and asked, "why aren't their two rooms?" The guide replied, "we thought it would be best if we brought you two together to get to know each other a little better. let me show you two around." He showed us the bathroom, and the main room which has TWO beds lucky for us. the guide finally ended his tour and gave us some instructions, "you both have a week to practice until the concert night. Bye the way there are two practice rooms for each of you as well. Good luck." And he exited the room and we were alone.
After we put all our cloths and stuff away. I was sitting on my bed cleaning my saxophone, as I finished, I looked over at the balcony. Octavia stood looking out into the setting sun, I shoved all my parts to my instrument case and walked out into the balcony next to her. I glanced at her, and asked, "are you nervous about this?" She stared at me and her ears flattened, "yes I am..." I replied, "there's nothing to worry about, if anything you'll take home the gold. You are ten times better than me, I'm just a rookie." She glanced at me and she smiled, "that's sweet Jazz but its a fifty fifty chance." We sat and stared at the moon, she looked over at me, and I did as well, then, we locked into a deep passionate kiss. It lasted for a few moments, then we broke apart and we both blushed. "You wanna head to bed?" Octavia asked. I nodded slowly and we walked back into the room both our pelts brushing.
DAY 2
The next morning, I woke up as I looked at the wine bottles on the night stand next to me I thought for a moment and tried to remember all the events that happened last night, but my mind was blank. I sat up on the bed, and glanced over my shoulder and saw Octavia lying next to me. I finally remembered what happened last night, I pushed those thoughts away, then my mind went into rage mode and I shot out of bed.
I was on my practice room practicing my sheet music, I herd a slam on the door that enters the practice room. Octavia walks in and has a tear rolling down her face, I finally asked what was wrong and she replied, "d-did w-we have sex?" My head looked to the ground.
