Lyria's Flight
Chapter 1
Load Full StoryNext ChapterLyria trotted down the hill, hooves kicking up the dirt. Her mind was drifting off, thoughts flowing, until they were cut off with a loud yell from behind her. She turned around, and squeaked, ducking behind her mane. "Hey Puny! What are you doing out here where you could get hurt?" A stallion mocked her. Two more joined him by his side. "Yeah skimpy. Run back home to your mommy you FOAL!" They laughed, and Lyria looked at them with tears.
"I-I..." She whimpered.
"You what?" They pressured her.
"I..." She broke down in a mess of tears and her mane. Her velvet mane covered her eyes completely, and the tears rolled down her cheeks like small waterfalls.
"Wimp! You'll be nothing more then a pathetic wimp! You can't FLY, you can't do ANYTHING!" They said, and kicked her fragile frame. She squeaked at each kick, and her tears only continued. They laughed at her, calling her wimp, baby, pathetic, foal... She couldn't stop them. She was a small pony, she would admit that. Her light purple fur started to become bruised, and blood would dampen her fur in some spots. Her vision started to fade, and her eyes were blinking slowly. Her body began to go limp. The tears started to lessen. She continued to hear the demented laughs of the stallions beating her, until she felt nothing, until she saw nothing, until...
Everything was silent.

Beep...
Beep...
Lyria felt her shallow breaths shake her. She slowly opened her eyes, and examined her surroundings. Her vision was relatively blurry, but she could make out large objects. She could see a chair, with a white pegasus sitting in it. She didn't recognize the pony. Who could it be? She then thought that the pony was possibly a figure of her imagination, so she moved on to checking her surroundings. A heart monitor continued its endless beeps, and an IV was in her foreleg. She saw elegant flowers on a table in the corner, and some food on a tray in front of her. She looked over to the chair where the pony was, and noticed it was gone. She sighed, and thought to herself, 'I knew it was just a figure of my imagination...' She heard some hoof steps, and looked toward the door. Her vision clarified, and she blinked.
"Good, your awake Lyria. Will you do me a favor and follow this pen?" The doctor asked, and waved a pen in front of her face. Lyria watched it, her eyes moving back and forth with the movement of the pen. The doctor clicked the pen and wrote something down on a clipboard. "Good, you can track movement." He smiled. "Your on the road to recovery Lyria." He said, and looked at the clipboard.
"W-Why a-am I in h-here?" She struggled to say. He looked at her, and saw her eyes pleading with pain and curiosity.
"You were beaten, nearly to death I might add." He said. "Until this young stallion," He motioned to the white pegasus from before. "Brought you to me. He would be the one to give you the better explanation on what happened." The white pegasus trotted closer, and she got a better sight of him. He had black spots on his wings, and along his muzzle. His white and black streaked mane was messed up, and his light blue eyes pierced into hers.
"Your awake. I'm glad to see that." He smiled, and she just stared at him in a mist. "You were injured pretty badly, broken wings, bruises all over your body, broken skin, all of the above and more." He sighed. "I'm just glad your awake, and alive. The doctors said you probably wouldn't make it through the night, but here you are." He smiled. She blinked at him, and looked around the room again, then directed her vision onto him.
"Why did you save me..?" She asked, and looked at him. Nopony had been this caring to her before, and she was confused by how this all felt. Her eyes stared straight into his, and she couldn't look away.
"Because you needed help, badly I had to come and help you, it was going to be wrong if I didn't." He said, and moved her mane from her eyes. She blinked, and looked at the black spots on his muzzle, and trailed them back to his eyes. They glittered in the light of the hospital room, and looked at her in compassion. He looked to the door, and sighed. "I have to go... I'll see you soon." Her parents entered, and ran to her bedside immediately. They barged her with questions, love, and hopefulness, but she was still thinking about the mysterious white pegasus with the spots. He had saved her from certain death, and brought her to a safe place and stayed till' she awoke. But....
Would he ever come back?

Lyria stood up out of her bed, and looked around her hospital room. She was finally going to get out, but she had still seen no sign of the mysterious pegasus. Her parents had to go home to make sure her parents animals were playing together fairly, and they said they would see her later at home. She walked towards the door, a steady beat drumming in her mind with the steps she took. She looked down, walking to the door, when she ran into a pony.
"Oh I'm so sorry! I'll just move out of your way..." She whimpered, and moved. A hoof tilted her head up, and she opened her eyes to look at the pony.
"No worries Lyria." The pony smiled. The black dots. The white fur. The wings. The eyes... It was him. It was the mysterious white pegasus Lyria had seen what seemed like forever ago.
