Filly Demon

A dark pony stood on the edge of the door way into another one of Equestria’s quickly failing pubs. She took a deep breath before pushing her hoof onto the door “Out of all the places to go why did she have to come here” She said to the vacant doorway. “Here it goes” She pushed through the heavily beaded door. Greeted by smoke and the harsh stench of incense.

“Luna?” A unknown pony questioned, she was of earth pony origin and had a pale green coat and a purple mane.

The new arrival looked up unsure of the identity of the speaker “Who is asking?”

“You have been in hiding for a while now, why is it now that you choose to show your face?”

Luna, deciding to ignore the question, instead decided to ask a question herself “You appear to know a lot about me, yet I have never seen tail of you. Will you trap me in idle chatter all evening or may I get on with the business that I came here for?”

“You seam sum what agitated. Was it something I said?” said the green pony calmly with a slight cocky smile.

“May I have the pleasure of your name” Luna said it a slightly gruff voice.

The earth pony smiled “It is of no importance, my name won’t make any difference to are meeting. It will still play out the same. Although I do believe that the object of your search is getting drunker as we speak, so I should not take up much more of your time” She gestured towards the blue Pegasus slumped at the bar. Luna glanced towards the Pegasus in question and then turned back to the mysterious pony, only to meet an empty space where she once stood.

Luna sighed; maybe she should have stayed in hiding she was already fed up with strange pony encounters. She turned back to the blue pony at the bar. “well it can only get easier” she said weakly to herself.

The dark blue alicorn started to walk towards the pony in question her mane forming a blue haze around her head. “hey there Rainbow Dash”

“Don’t call me Dash” Came the short, gruff, slightly slurred reply.

“And why wouldn’t I your name is Rainbow Dash isn’t it?”

The blue mare began to trace her hoof over the rim of her glass, ultimately pretending that the alicorn did not exist.

“This is childish Rainbow” Luna had to bite her lip in order to stop herself; she hated shortening the names of Pony's that she did not know very well.

“Now you’re speaking my language princess” Rainbow finished with a mock bow, nearly falling off her stool in the process. Luna had to reach out hoof in order to catch the falling Pegasi. Once she got her bearings Rainbow quickly shoved off the other pony’s hooves “I don’t need help!”

Luna couldn’t help but smiling “You sound just like Apple Jack”

It was obvious she had she had struck a nerve. The unhappy drunkenness of Rainbow was fast becoming a hard, angry glare. “Don’t talk about AJ. You have no right” She then returned to sipping her drink as if the last five seconds had not past.

Taken aback by the mare’s reaction Luna decided not to push it. “I need your help” Luna took yet another deep breathe “You’re the only pony I have left to turn to”

“What about your super special Twilight Sparkle; best pony of her generation” Rainbow’s tone was flat.

“You know that she will never trust me, there is some hope. I have done all I can to make it so. But I can’t do this final thing”

“Well I bet I can’t do it either, anyway I have this huge important thing I have to do” There was an edge of sarcasm in her voice “I’m starting a brand new one wing society”

“I can see that you are doing a lot from your bar stool”

“Can’t you just leave me to be bitter? I was perfectly depressed before you showed up”

“And what are you now?”

“Angry. As it appears that I have been found, I will have to move again because of you. I was just getting used to this place, true it isn’t exactly fancy but at least it vaguely resembles home. Then you have to come in talking about all of your saving Equestria rubbish. Equestria is done for, there is nothing you can do” She then returned to staring into the bottom of her drink, quietly muttering to herself.

“Are you done” Luna questioned. Rainbow’s only response was to glare at her. “Either way I am going to make you listen to what I have to say to you. You can remain in this hole if you want to. I’m not asking for much I just want you to speak to a pony is all”

A vast silence filled the air before Rainbow deemed it time to answer “What do you need from the pony in question?”

“Information”

“And why do I have to be the one to get it”

“The pony in question has developed a slight hatred for me. But she knows you”

“Pinkie Pie”

“Yes. You see there was a spell she discovered. I received it one week ago.”

“You cast it?”

“I didn’t have much choice” Rainbow raised an eyebrow at this “The parchment was jinxed” Luna replied hotly.

“So Pinkie is using magic now” Rainbow said grinning “Are you sure we are talking about the same Pinkamina Diana Pie?”

Luna huffed “Can we just get back to the point”

“Fine”

“Well as I was saying, I received a spell and cast it. The parchment along with it said it would spark new hope and life in Equestria.” Luna looked down at the floor “But even after further study of the spell we don’t even know what it did. We only know that it is only a small part of a bigger plan, both magical and otherwise.”

“So that is where I come in”

“Yes”

The Pegasus pondered for a minute before standing up “I have been meaning to visit pinkie for a while now”

The remaining Alicorn looked after the Pegasus, glancing over her right wing and the feathered stub where the left should be “I’m Sorry” then she followed rainbow Dash out.
