“Aha!” yelled Twilight in accomplishment of her newfound machine, “It seems to all be working correctly, Spike, just a few more adjustments and then we can test out the Crunch Machine!” Spike laid down with a picture book over his face, one filled with the depictions of him and Rarity, most were drawings, but the rest were of him being rejected by her.
“Ahuh... yeah, Twilight... yeah...” he mumbled, clearly not listening to anything Twilight was saying, but rather dreaming about Rarity, oh how far the two were apart but closely intertwined that they did not see it not once.
“That’s it, Spike,” Twilight said, finished turning a few bolts on the rambunctious machine that she had displayed right in the middle of the library for all the world to see. Well, just for anypony in the library to see, really. “Hit the switch, will ya, Spike?” Spike jumped to the call, eager to please his masters wish. He jumped on the lever that was supposed to start the machine, unable to get it to move for the first few seconds, but soon it dropped like an anvil from a building.
The ‘Crunch Machine’ lit up like the night sky filled with fireworks. Colors of all kinds, even ones that weren’t common in the world, began to spark from this mechanical device, noises rumbled as it jumbled around, leaving dents in the floor and cracks in the walls. Suddenly it was over and the machine went dead, when suddenly the darkness swept in.
“Spike!” Twilight cried out, worried of her assistant’s possible danger, “Spike!” Twilight called again, still no answer. Noises circled around the room, leaving nothing but the mysterious question of what it could be.
“Fear not!” came an unfamiliar voice from the darkness, “for Mint Berry Crunch has arrived!” yelled the the creature who just addressed himself in a superhero fashion.
“Who?” asked the dumbfounded pony. She was a little saddened by the fact that all the science she did today that this illogical outcome had just happened.
The sound of a pebble-like objects falling and hitting the floor became abundant in the silent room, flashes of purple revealed them to be berries of untold proportions originating from the small child in half a costume in the middle of the room, right next to the ‘Crunch Machine.’ The room shaked and rumbled as if it were someponies hungry stomach, it lurched and dampened from the berry juice leaking out everywhere.
Mint Berry Crunch walked over to her, still flashing his perpetual purple light in the room, he offered his hand to her hoof, she looked at it with awe as it was something not from this world at all, but still more magnificent than anything from Equestria. The scientific explanation was missing from her head, unable to allow her comprehension to poof into this reality.
“Miss?” Mint Berry Crunch directed to Twilight, who was still trying to examine this abrupt engagement.
She took a few seconds to come back into the entirety of it, “Y-Yes?” Twilight said, taking his hand with her hoof.
“Are you alright?” Mint Berry Crunch said as he lifted her up onto her hooves.
Still confused, she spoke, “Oh, yes, quite alright, who are you again...?” Twilight asked rubbing her head in all the fuss.
He shot up, spraying mint and berries with a satisfying crunch all over the library floor, his purple and green colors flashed against her sparkling eyes, illuminating the room and revealing the unconscious Spike in a pile of books, “I am Mint Berry Crunch, super hero and savior of Earth!”
The mention of ‘Earth’ startled Twilight, of all the books she had, none explained further than the moon and the sun in their solar system. “Earth?” Twilight asked, wanting to know everything about it. “What is... Earth...?” She sat down, eager to hear what she could.
“There’s no time!” Mint Berry Crunch yelled out, spraying another batch of minty berries around, piles starting to form all over the library floor.
Once again confusion roared over Twilight, giving her only questions but never once an answer. “Why is tha-?”
Mint Berry Crunch cut her off, “I’ve been brought here to battle a great evil, have I not?”
“More by accident from my Crunch Machine, but... sure.” Mint Berry Crunch shot for the door.
“Shablagoo!” he yelled, smashing the door down and spilling even more minty berries around.
He flew for miles on end, looking for citizens in need of minty berries with a satisfying crunch to please with his powers, only to be caught up by the one and only Rainbow Dash.
“Hey” Rainbow Dash said, catching up to Mint Berry Crunch and his incredible speed of berries, she reacted normally, as humans being in Equestria was quite common for some odd reason, each one they acted like they were the first and just screwed around with.
“Hello, citizen!” Mint Berry Crunch called to her, wanting to know what she needed, or if she needed anything. “Do you have any wants of Mint Berry Crunch’s assistance?” He asked, flying closer to her, smacking through clouds and spraying minty berries all down onto Ponyville.
“Nah... just looking for a challenge, you wanna race?” Rainbow Dash said, trying to intimidate him with twirls and flips in the air.
“There’s no time, I must find the great evil before it is too late!” Mint Berry Crunch explained.
“So, you’re afraid of losing, are you?” Rainbow Dash taunted, whipping clouds out from all around Mint Berry Crunch.
“No, no, Mint Berry Crunch is never afraid!” Mint Berry Crunch swayed back to her, accepting her challenge.
“Fine, how about to the clock tower over there?” Rainbow Dash said, nodding her head in the direction of that said structure.
“Mint Berry Crunch will show you who’s the better flyer,” he taunted back.
“We’ll see about that, you ready?” Rainbow Dash asked, slowing down to make the race even and aligned with Mint Berry Crunch.
“Mint Berry Crunch will never lose to a challenge of a pony!”
