Ponykind has long told tales of creatures who live in the forests of Equestria. Creatures of fur and fang, claw and moon. It is said they streak through grass like a pegasus through sky, feasting on foals. It is said that they plot the hunting of ponies tirelessly. It's said that those who've claimed to see them vanish not soon afterwards, lost into the night.
It is not said that their numbers are dwindling. It is not said that one of the oldest races in Equestria faces imminent extinction. It is not said that reports of such atrocities have been highly exaggerated. Because after all - Mongrels don't really exist.
