The pony's looked worried as they climbed the face of the mountain with great caution. "Is this safe?" said the younger one. "I don't know, we are the only pony's to try who is alive at this part" said the elder as he grabbed hold of a stone, which crumbled as he placed his hoof on it. "Ugh, this is to dangerous for anypony to climb, what if this is for nothing?" Said the younger climber. "It would make a good souvenir photo" chuckled the elder. "Ha ha, we are hanging in the very brink of death and you make jokes" said the younger one. "Wait, what is that cave over in the distance" said the younger one with no hiding of the happiness on his frost covered face. "This is it, finally.. I'm coming hysteria" "What did you say master?" said the youngling with great confusion in his eyes "Nothing, lets just move on" he said When then entered the cave they were introduced to a smell of blood and mist as they trotted into the decrypted room, there was strange symbols carved on the mossy walls and totems of a mythical creature. In front of their eyes was a massive idol holding a glowing purple orb with mist engulfing a figure inside. "This is it, the crystal that I have been looking for, the crystal that will make me rich" said the elder with a evil tone in his voice. "Yes it wi... Rich??? You said this stone would help our families have a better life" said the younger one with sadness filling in his eyes Without hesitation, the elder smashed the orb and the mist erupted out with a rumbling sound, and out came a beast  wearing a harlequin with a split of blue an yellow colours and a white mask covering here face. "WHAT ARE YOU DOIN..." said the younger just before the elder trusted a dagger though his chest causing him to stumble and fall dead. "You never shut up do you, anyway rise hysteria, be my.." Hysteria screamed and punched the elder in the chest and set him into a marble pillar NO, YOU WILL NOT CONTROL ME, FOR I AM PURE INSANITY The elder look at the monster he created, wincing in pain from his bruise from his chest that had just been inflicted. "What have i done...." Screamed the elder as he is flung out the cave and hurtles to the ground when SWOOSH He is grabbed by a canterlot guard, who calmly replys "Are you ok, even so, you're coming with me". Back at the courtroom, the elder is charged for high treason and sentenced to the moon for 20 years, but worry is painted across the face of Celestia as she stares blankly into the emptiness of the night "Hysteria, why do you return" she sighs Suddenly she springs with a idea and calls a guard "Yes milady?" Said the Guard "Fetch me Shining Armour" Demanded the Princess. "On it" Replied the Guard and ran for the doorway After ideas and planning and a lot of grass sandwiches, Shining comes with a interesting idea "Well i do know of a old Guard who i caught studying about these creatures, maybe he will help us, but he left ages ago and heaven knows where he could be." Celestia says in a calm but suttle voice "Who is he?" Shining slides a Guard File showing a pony with a red mane with a blue coat, his cutie mark was a Blue Atom with 2 swords circling it. "Samlight." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 - Duty //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 - Duty Samlight sat on a table, lost in thought about how his life had turned after he left the guards and followed his own path which lead to friendship and fun, but no adventure, which is what he missed dearly in life "You ok Sam?" Said Estel, a Unicorn he has been friends with since fillies and colts. "He's fine, just in thought" Exclaimed Nightwing, a Pegasus he met while on tour of duty. "How can you tell, you cant read his mind" Said Lightrift, His cousins Ex-Boyfriend from 2 months ago "No, I'm fine, It's just... we never do anything exciting anymore, our days are set out for us, Sleep, Work, Bar, Sleep, It's just a boring cycle. Explained Samlight. "True, but nothing can happen in this remote village" Said Estel. "Well, maybe not normally, but today, look, guards have just entered and are searching for someone." Said Lightrift Two Royal Guards strolled into the bar explaining they are looking for a Unicorn with a red mane and blue coat. "Hey, that looks like you Saml... Samlight?" Asked Nightwing. Samlight had walked outside and started to worry, Why do they want me? What have I done now? The two guards approached Samlight and said in a calm voice "You need to come with us, Shining Armour needs to speak to you" Explained the Guards. Sam said goodbye to his friends, and followed them in the Sky Chariot Samlight strolled though the Castle gates and stood in front of the old barracks, with a quiet sigh he gently shoved the door open. In the room is hundreds of solders running hard a rigorous exercises that would crush the feeble commoner. Walking though the room, Samlight felt old memory coming back to him... 2 Years Ago.... Sam was nervously waiting in the barracks for the commanding officer of his troop, He did astonishing well for a newbie and shocked many recruiters, so he expected a good leader. His entire jaw dropped when Shining Armour strolled into the confined space and explained that he was their commander, and that they had their first assignment in 2 weeks, and that they should study on creatures. One book lead to another, and Sam was hooked on the Arcane Magic behind the monsters, His favourite line was from "Old Magic and Potions" that sparked his interest in the first place All unicorns have this Magic cursing though their hoofs and veins, All it takes is ones willingness to control it. . On the day of the mission, they broke into a old warehouse to find a unknown beast to all but him, he mumbled all he knew about in and prepared to take immediate action Type 40-9 Behemoth, weakness, a ripped tissue between his lungs, whip recommended Sams quick thinking earned him the loyalty of his members, but overtime, Shining became suspicious of all his dabbling in these Dark Arts, and those suspicions irked Sam, so he left without a farewell. Suddenly he was back, In the face of a beautiful mare, but suddenly held his breath when he saw who it was, Twilight Sparkle, Sister of Shining Armour.. "My Brother has been waiting, follow me" Sam took a deep breath, and stumbled into the Room. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 - Arrival //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 - Arrival Samlight entered the room, the interior had not changed much since is first arrival, the same painting, the marble pillars and floor, the luxurious seats and rugs, and the throne, made from gold and a expensive red velvet cloth, Sam remembered it all to well. Shining Armour was already at the table, skimming though Sam's file, before putting the book down and shaking Sams hoof, before saying "Welcome back Sam, we missed you, but first, tell me, why did you leave?" asked Shining. Sam replied "Well, your suspicions were putting me off, If I have to read about the Dark Arts as my job, why the fuck do you stop me? Shining sighed and replied "That monster was a test, you beat it easily, showing you can learn quickly, but when you continued reading, I got worried that you would turn, so I had someone monitor you. Sam looked puzzled but suddenly realised what he meant 23 June, 2011... Samlight was reading his book, when his friend Estel, and Twilight strolled in and picked up books of the same genre, they started talking about the books until Sam spotted Shining and ran off, worried. Twilight came to comfort him, and then they spoke about the magic, and what it could do... Samlight was flushed with anger, and started to storm out the room, when suddenly THUMP Samlight landed right into someone, he cursed and looked up and saw... Estel, Nightwing and Lightrift We're standing in front of him Nightwing shouted "If Sam is returning, we want to... oh, hey Sam" "Wh.. what the heck are you guys doing here" Asked Samlight "We thought you were rejoining, so we wanted to help" Giggled Estel. After a long conversation, Samlight came up with his decision. "I did read about Hysteria, Element of Insanity, but not much, I'll read some more, but *sigh* I guess I will help you" Said Samlight Cheers emitted though the room as Sam strolled to his dormitory to catch some rest he so dearly needed. Sam was about to drift to sleep when the door opened, revealing a shadowy figure, walking over to Twilights Dorm, Sam was at a awkward position, but he saw the pony brandish a steak knife, and shove a rag ball full of knockout gas into Twilights mouth and drag her outside 5 Minutes Later, another Pony walks in and tries to shove one into Samlight's mouth, but Sam does a twirl and bucks the Pony in the abdomen, knocking him out. Sam stumbles outside where he sees the same shadowy pony holding Twilight hostage with Shining and the Guards on the other side Sam had one shot to stop him, he has the advantage of surprise, Sam thought to himself *Where's a Frying Pan when you need one* but Sam noticed his weapon on the floor A stick from a Birch tree in the Gardens... One shot... One Chance... Sam Lunges and swipes the stick across the figures neck, blood gushes from a cut near his forhead, the shock allowed Twilight to escape and push him knocking him back while Sam launches a back kick into the assailant. Sam then pulls the figure and removes his cape to see... A man, with a Mask on, screaming "She is coming... She is coming..." As he evaporates. Sam tells everyone that the assailant was a pony infused with insanity, oh, and that one was knocked out in his room. Stumbling back to bed, he notices 2 guards taking position near the dormitory, knowing he is safe. He crashed onto his pillow and falls asleep.
