Rarity decides to go on another search for gemstones, unable to find Spike she ends up with her second choice Applejack. While on the search an avalanche traps them inside of a cave. Leading to dark surroundings, darker dreams, and still darker deeds inside of the cave.

Following the events of the last tale Twilight walks home through the Ever-free Woods not expecting to run into an accident, nor expecting where and who that accident would lead to.
