Experiments

Was I dreaming? I decided it was a good idea to test that by slapping myself.

“Slap!”

“Ouch!”

I wasn’t dreaming. I looked into the portal to see what was on the other side.

“Holy sh*t it’s Equestria!”

Luckily, it was night there, so nobody/pony could notice the portal. This portal connecting our worlds means that our time lines were in sync, so time passed just as fast there, as here. Still, how could this portal be here?

“Maybe there are some aliëns with portal guns who had a fight. They shot a portal to Equestria and a portal gun was accidentally thrown through and shot a portal to earth.”

Weird theory, but it was possible. I decided I wouldn’t let this chance slip, so I grabbed a garden hose, tied it around my bed and threw it through the portal.

“That should keep my only chance to get to Equestria from closing!”

It was night there, but it was afternoon here.

“Perhaps I should ask some questions and explain a few things to them, then tell it to everyone I know, so they know what happened to me, but first I’m going to need to do some experiments with the portal.”

First, I decided to see what would happen if I stuck my hand in there. I stuck my hand in and didn’t feel anything weird. I did however see something.

“A hoof? Red? Awesome!”

It was pretty clear I would turn into a pony when entering. But what type of pony? An Earth Pony, a Unicorn, or a Pegasus.”

“I guess the type of pony is determined by the personality of the person going through the portal, rather than genetics, since ponies and humans are not compatible. I wonder what kind of pony I would be.”

I decided to take a look and stuck my head through the portal. I tapped a bit on my forehead with my hoof (yes, hoof).

“No horn...”

Then, I decided to stick my back in there. I awkwardly tried to turn my head to see if I had wings or not. I couldn’t turn my head far enough.

“How am I going to find out now?”

I then thought of something. When I was younger, I had sometimes imagined I had wings and could flap them.

“Let’s give it a try!”

I imagined me, flapping my (imaginary) wings. I felt a response!

“Awesome! Looks like I would turn into a Pegasus!”

I found myself vibrating from excitement.

“Easy there, do not get over-excited about this, it could only lead to accidents.”

Suddenly, I heard my mom:

“Dinner time!”

“Crap, what should I do?”

Suddenly, I got an idea. I turned my MacBook over to the portal, connected my iPod Touch and turned on my MacBook’s webcam.

“Yes!”

I eat dinner in my room a lot, because my brothers can be really annoying, so I just walked downstairs with my iPod connected to my MacBook. I just had to grab my dish and walk upstairs again.

“Piece of cake!”

I walked across the living room and when I was just about to grab my dish, my mom called again:

“Floris, why do you have your iPod when you’re going to eat dinner?”

“ I, I, uh...”

Oh crap! I had to think of something really quick!

“I, I’m watching a live stream!”

“Okay.”

I almost laughed out loud. I didn’t even lie!

When I was back in my room, I looked at the portal again.

“Still there, looks like this one’s really stable!”

I almost couldn’t eat from excitement, so I just ate a small portion of it. While thinking about how it would be in Equestria, I suddenly realized my mom would come to my room to take back the dish. I picked my iPod Touch up again, grabbed my dish, walked downstairs again and told my mom I felt sick and wanted to be alone for a while.

That wasn’t a lie either, because I really felt sick (from sheer excitement) and I wanted to be alone for a while, so I could watch the portal. I walked back upstairs and just stared blankly at the portal for a few minutes, before my mind kicked in again.

“I should work on my “speech”...”
