"wait, wait, what happened?" Lyra snifled "sorry...alright, I will tell you, I was at the post office..."

Lyra goes into detail of all the happy and blushing mares and stallions that were hugging their own Heart and Hooves Day cards...and she didn't even have one

Remembering somewhat bad luck on Valentine's Day back in the human world, you feel honest sentiment towards her...

"what if...they didn't get delivered yet when you got there, maybe, it was like a problem with the mail, I have seen the mailmare" she smiled and looked up at you "you really think so...?" you nod "it is worth a shot, isn't it, you can't just give up hope..."

She hugs you and slowly trots out her door...with the locking of her door, you spring into action..."she will have something on Heart and Hooves if it kills me..."

"where is the...I can use this...I can improvise...now something gold or is it yellow, dah! Where'd all this tissue paper come from anyway?"

you run upstairs to hide your present, just in time to see a heartbroken Lyra "I went there, I looked everywhere...even the back room..." You can not stand to see your friend this way, "Lyra, follow me" You lead her to her room, "alright, cover your eyes..." she closes her eyes as you guide her, "alright...now!" she opens her eyes and they fill up with tears

"oh my, you...made this for me..." your art skills may be slim to none, but it turned out pretty decent, the collage of Lyra and her lyre was placed carefully at the foot of her bed "I ain't much of an artist, but...luckily you had some tissue paper, I guess from some sort of party?" she couldn't say a word "I...you...I love it..." she hugged you as tight as she could, something you wouldn't mind, if you didn't feel kinda...

"Lyra...can you...?" Lyra backed off with a surprised glance and you look down "umm..." you blush deep red "Happy Hearts and Hooves..." you run from her room, locking the guest room door behind you...leaving Lyra blushing and smiling "indeed..."
