Chapter 1: The End of the End and its Beginning
And so, after what had seemed to be the single largest impact that had ever struck the earth, did it all cease to be. Joy had officially died from the planet. Both in its essence and its cosmetics. The sky itself had turned gray, still lit by the sun who still shined, but gray nonetheless. The ocean's turned black in all its turmoil, choppy and rugged so that no sailor could ever again venture to new or even old lands. The earth itself was dark and gray as the dust settled after the chaos that had struck. Very little vegetation was left. Even more scarce: the animals. Few trees stood over the rubble that was once the tallest of buildings, now reduced by that great chaos.
The chaos. Perhaps the largest explosion. The unimaginable, but then again, the inevitable. Caused by the foulest of the foul, the lowest of the low. Those who have crept forth into the once great blue gem that was Mother Earth. They who have told great lies as to deceive us, into accepting them. Those who have stated that their allegiance lied with ours, in the interest and protection of Earth. But instead was for their own gain in power. For these sins did they get what they deserve, so called humanity. As this so called humanity had killed itself and most of us, few had remained to be tested. The last of true humanity, of same species but of different soul and intelligence. The innocent to carry on time, to live and carry on.
Out of fear, however, did those fourteen remaining stay in their shelter, unaware that the end had ended. For days would they stay until they should come out, to finally see what they had had left. So began their journey, their tests, to be deemed worthy of whatever they were to come. The end had ended. All that was left in time, was for the beginning to begin. As soon as they were to come out, so did it finally start. Their challenge, on their start.
