My sister is nuts.

No, Whimsy, not like, nuts, nuts. Crazy. In a good way.

Not everyone saw it that way.

When she was a filly, she was transferred to special education. "She doesn't listen." "She's psychotic." "She's schizophrenic." "She never pays attention."

That's 'cause whatever you're trying to teach her, she's thinking of something more interesting. She doesn't think the way you think she should–ugh–so she's 'broken'.

Lemme tell you something, idiots. My sister is anything but broken.

My sister will change the world, in a big way. There's no one, pony or otherwise, who even comes close. She has ideas that would make Star Swirl's head spin. And when I say 'ideas', I mean she could probably fill an entire library with them and still have plenty left over. I'm not even sure she counts as one artist anymore.

No, my sister's biggest problem is that she's still with me. Because I'm the only one who sees who she is–what she could be–that's still alive. Yeah, I know, laugh it up. But she needs to learn to rein it in–she has, a little–and until then she's only got me to protect and support her. She's learned to behave normally, but it's paper-thin on a good day. Gone at the slightest breeze. Tar', she only does it near me because she knows it drives me crazy, and I can't afford too many distractions.

It's just ironic. I think. I don't know, she's the bookworm. It's just funny that the only one who can protect her is also her biggest vulnerability, because if I ever get caught, it'll be straight to the asylum with her, and goodbye, so long, dreams.

Poor girl. The day you're ready and rid of me can't come soon enough. It can't. And after that…after that I get to find out what really happens after the end…finally.

Well, okay. One last job first, and only because it's you asking, Des'. And because you're asking me to do it for free, which either means you're stupid, bankrupt, or under the belief that the job itself is just worth doing. And if it stops dragons from going extinct, you just might be right.

Might.
