After a rather quiet clean-up, Twilight found herself sinking into a comfortable pillow on the floor. Her horn blazing to life, a teapot and cup came zooming in from the kitchen. Black tea with a small bit of lemon for flavor, just the way she liked it. Reflecting back on the previous night, it had been crazy to say the least. When Rarity had brought out The Contraption, amazing times were had by all. The bearers of the Elements of Harmony had certainly grown closer that day. Bringing a book over to her position she made a quick mental list of things that she needed to take care of that day.
- Clean up the library after the get together. Check.
- Give Spike the day off. Check.
- Enjoy tea and a good book. Ongoing.
- Meet up with Rarity to discuss when the next get together should occur, and who to invite. Pending
Loud shouts of surprise suddenly snapped her from her reverie, running over to the window she saw ponies scrambling all over, many pointing at the sky, or looking up slack jawed. Teleporting outside she looked up towards where many were pointing. Up in the sky something odd was glinting. From the distance it was almost impossible to make out what it was. Only that something relatively large was hurtling towards Ponyville at exuberant speeds.
“Is that the sound of...bees?” Twilight heard someone say near her.
Straining her ears she was able to pinpoint the sound that they were talking about. Looking back at the object on a collision course with them, further details were able to be made out. It almost looked like a block of ice, with the way that the sun was glinting on and through it. Inside appeared to be, Pinkie Pie, frozen solid. She was holding what appeared to be a horn and was riding an oboe that was somehow on fire from the inside of the ice. The closer she got, the louder the sound of bees was heard.
“I dunno what is making that sound, but I REALLY want one. That would be so much fun for pranking ponies,” A voice said next to Twilight.
“I could see you playing that all the time,” She responded without much thought. A double take was soon had. “Pinkie! But you're here, and there, and...Did you use the mirror pool again?!” Came the frantic response.
“What? No, of course not, it was really fun at first but then we didn't know which one was the real me, then you had to figure out and it wasn't very fun even though it started that way and it seemed like a good idea at the time. I learned my lesson,” Pinkie rambled on in her own peculiar manner.
As the buzzing grew to almost eardrum shattering levels Equestria found itself shaking from the blow of the ice. As the ice slivered out into the air, many would come to say it was as if being in a dream of pure snow, just a wee bit sharper.
“That is the LAST time I trust Scorpio to give me directions back to Equestria,” The mysterious Pinkie Pie declared as the ice was clearing.
“Pinkie, will you please explain just what the hay is going on?” Twilight half asked, half sighed.
“Honestly I have no idea but now that there are two of me, I might be able to figure it out,” Answered the Pinkie closest to her.
“I think that she was talking to me, also me,” The other Pinkie responded.
“Well what makes you think that, also me? Twilight wasn't very clear, all she asked was for Pinkie to explain what was going on. I am Pinkie Pie, but you're also Pinkie Pie, so maybe I don't know. Maybe I do,” The first Pinkie continued on.
“You raise quite the interesting perspective, out of all the other Pinkie Pies I have met, I believe with all of my own immortal soul that you are the most Pinkie of the Pies,” Pinkie the 2nd replied with a humble bow.
“Thank you good mare,” The Pinkie the 1st bowed back.
“Stop it! Just, stop it. The Pinkie that seemingly came from space, why are you here? Why are there two Pinkies?” Twilight cried out, finally succumbing to the frustration of the moment, her head clutched by her hooves.
“Oh,” The two Pinkies replied simultaneously
Dead silence rang throughout the town square, a truly impressive feat with two Pinkies not only in existence, but in close proximity. Like all great things however, it was not to last.
“Hmm... I think I know how to tell my story, cause it is a bit long. I'm going to sing it!” Pinkie yelled before spontaneously combusting into song and dance.
Once in a land called Equestria,
A monkey came from the sky,
He was really mean and blew everything up,
So I beat him into submission,
Then we became the best of friends,
Another monkey came from the first,
We beat him into submission together,
Then I was thrown into space while the planet exploded.
I landed sometime later,
Met quite the lucky fellow,
Wished the planet back,
Then partied to my hearts content.
I eventually grew homesick,
Setting off on the long journey back here,
Now I'm home, looking at a doppelganger,
this situation is quite weird.
“Okay, that doesn't really explain much, but I think I get the gist, at least I hope so,” Twilight responded once the song was over.
“That song needs work, it is not worthy of the name of Pinkie Pie. It doesn't even rhyme all that well,” Pinkie stated matter-of-factly.
“I know, but I'm way out of practice, I haven't had much of a time to practice singing lately. On the other hoof I have had time to perfect my vuvuzela skills!” Pinkie explained, her comment accentuated by blowing said instrument very, very loudly.
“That doesn't explain much, if nothing else I am more confused then I was before,” Twilight sighed whilst rubbing the bridge of her snout.
And it was for the second time that day a loud crashing sound pierced the air. Pinpointing the direction of the sound Twilight and the two Pinkies ran in the direction of Sugarcube Corner. The sight before their eyes was perhaps the strangest thing they had ever laid their eyes upon. Their beloved monarch and embodiment of the sun, Princess Celestia was laughing maniacally, pausing only to breath and take large bites out of the pastry shaped building.
As more and more bites occurred, they found the source of the crashing, vision torn from the absurdity in front of them. Sections of Sugarcube Corner were collapsing on themselves. Celestia had eaten so much that the buildings foundation was no longer stable.
“My Faithful Student, I see that you have come to partake in a meal with your beloved mentor and benevolent ruler. Unfortunately, I will have to ask you to come back at a later time, because this entire cupcake is MINE!” Celestia's eyes were manic as she shouted to the heavens, as if Twilight was in the clouds.
“Pinkie, Pinkie, I need one of you to go and get the girls, and I need the other you to go and get Spike, we need to see if we can get a hold of Princess Luna at any cost,” Twilight rambled on, thinking as fast as she was able; meanwhile, Celestia continued her onslaught on the giant drywall cupcake.
Nodding vigorously both Pinkies ran off in search of their targets. Hardly managing to run 10ft they ran head first into a green force field. Turning around in surprise they were shocked to see that Celestia's fur was falling off in her fervor. Underneath lay black carapace, revealing the changling underneath.
“I can't stop eating!” The Celestia turned changling wailed. Her belly visibly bulged in protest of her dietary habits.
“What are we supposed to do Twilight?” Pinkie stated, looking towards her friend for guidance.
After a brief moment in which Twilight simply sat there, absorbing the absurd situation in front of her, she managed to formulate a response, “I don't know. I just don't know.”
“I think that I may have an idea, but it's dangerous. Twilight, if you can get past the shield, I can get that Fake Celestia to stop her rampant eating,” The Pinkie from space spoke in a determined yet grim tone of voice.
After a moment of eye contact, Twilight simply nodded. Running over to where the force field had activated she concentrated her magic.
“This might take a moment. If you can manage to distract her, I will have a higher chance of success,” Twilight called out.
“I can do it! I can do it!” Whipping out her party cannon, Pinkie took careful aim. Firing it, the typhoon of confetti and pastries was on its mark.
Taking a moment to wipe the gooey mess from it's face, the changling looked at Pinkie, “Truly, you are going to have to do better then that.”
After a moment of dejection, the space Pinkie climbed into the cannon. With a shared smile, Pinkie fired her counterpart towards the imposter.
With her front hoof aimed directly towards her jaw, the sun came bursting forth from the clouds that had mysteriously appeared roughly 5 seconds ago. A loud crack was heard, and a bright flash was seen as the rest of Sugarcube Corner came falling down. As the dust cleared Twilight and Pinkie were nowhere to be found. Fake Celestia was buzzing in the sky, looking dumbfounded by what had just occurred. With a loud grunt a pile of rubble was pushed aside by Space Pinkie.
“I missed, sorry about that, but I'm okay. I think,” Space Pinkie called out to no one in particular.
Pulling out a strange metal tube from seemingly nowhere, Space Pinkie pointed it at Fake Celestia.
“And what, pray tell, is that odd contraption?” Fake Celestia droned.
“This is my Fat Bastard, Mini Bastard launcher. You may have eaten Sugarcube Corner, but tiny obese Scottish men are going to eat you!” With that Space Pinkie pulled the trigger.
The tube shuddered before remaining true to its namesake. Hundreds upon hundreds of tiny obese men were released into the air, all on a collision course with the Fake Celestia. Instantly a horrid stench filled the air, causing all the in area to gag horribly.
“Oh great, isn't this magical?” Hundreds of voices all cried out in a discordant choir before reaching their intended target. Stark cries were heard as the tiny humans bit at the tough carapace. Within a minute Fake Celestia was reduced to nothing.
“It’s friendshipical!” A voice called out, the source unseen.
“Thank goodness. I wonder what happened to the girls?” Space Pinkie thought out loud, putting her launcher away.
Elsewhere...
Her head spinning slightly from the magical drain of shield breaking and teleporting in quick succession, Twilight looked around her to regain her bearings. Realizing that she was in Carousel Boutique she took a quick look around for Rarity. While she couldn’t be sure, they may need the elements, and if she was here, she might as well.
Walking through the boutique, Twilight heard two different voices emanating from the backroom, “Oh Twilight, I have waited so long for this day to come, it has been such a dreadful wait.”
Rarity? What is she talking about?
A second voice joined Rarity’s, “You. Are. So. Sex. Y. I. Love. You. Rar. It. Y.”
Walking into the backroom, Twilight had to fight to remain standing. In front of her was Rarity, and a mechanical monstrosity that was clearly made to look like her.
“Rarity‽ What the hay is going on in here‽” Twilight exclaimed in half-surprise, half-horror.
“Twilight‽ I, uh, didn't know that you, were, uh, coming.” Rarity stumbled over her words, clearly wanting to be literally anywhere else in the world.
“Com. Ming. Com. Ming. Com. Ming,” The Robo Twilight started saying in response to Rarity's statement.
“Quiet! Shutdown!” Rarity cried frantically.
“Goo. D. Nigh. T. Rar. It. Y.” The Robo Twilight responded before its glowing eyes powered down.
“Rarity will you please explain... actually, don't. We just don't have time and I really am sure that I don't want to know. A changling that looks like Celestia is eating Sugarcube Corner and I think we should gather the Elements of Harmony just in case. We need to hurry though,” Twilight concluded, relaying the current situation.
“I'm dreadfully sorry darling, I gave it to Sweetie Belle so that she could wear it to her school dance,” Rarity had the sense of mind to reply sheepishly.
“You gave it to Sweetie Belle? Sugarcube Corner is going to be destroyed if we can't get it as soon as possible,” Twilight said, starting to go into panic mode.
“Well, if that is the case dear I can always give you and and your twin a... proper introduction,” Rarity said, giving Twilight a rather unsettling smile.
“That...won't be necessary,” With a large fake smile, Twilight bolted out of there, intent on keeping her sanity intact.
With a sad look on her face Rarity walked over to her Robo Twilight. Lifting her hoof she felt around its cold metallic body. It was the best she could do, and it simply wasn't enough. It would tell her whatever she wanted to hear, it could make her feel better then any other before, but in the end it was simply a stand in for the original.
“Twilight, boot,” Rarity commanded softly.
“Goo. D. Morn. Ing. Rar. It. Y.” Robo Twilight said as it flared to life.
“Twilight, tell me that you love me...please,” Rarity whispered under her breath before tears started to stream down her face. Before she even realized what she was doing she had flung herself over the robot in a desperate hug.
“I. Love. You. Rar. It. Y.” Robo Twilight stated in its metallic voice.
You may not be the real thing, but for now, you bring happiness to my days.
Elsewhere...
Pinkie Pie found herself in an area she couldn't quite describe. It was a great expanse of white that felt smaller then the smallest box she had ever seen. Her sense of touch was a strange sort of numb, it felt as if she was awake and yet sleeping.
“Hello?” Pinkie threw out into the void, her question literally forming into tangible words in front of her before flying of into several different directions.
“Oh my gosh, that is so cool, I have never seen words come out of my mouth like that before, I wonder if I can touch them and if so I wonder what they feel like,” Pinkie was surprised to see that her words were able to keep up with her speech.
“Pink one, you come to me far earlier then you ought,” An odd looking sphere floating in the air said.
“WAH! You scared me! Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie! Who are you? Are you always a floating ball? Where are we? Can we be friends? I've never been friends with a floating talking ball before. What are we going to do for fun, what do floating talking balls do for fun?” After introducing herself, Pinkie rambled on about her current situation.
“Pink one, calm yourself. You are in the Void, as passersby have come to call it. I am likewise called The Keeper. When teleportation occurs, it is through this domain that one passes through.” The Keeper explained.
“Oh, well what am I doing here?” Pinkie tilted her head in question.
“It would seem that you were left behind by whomever brought you. I suspect not on purpose. You should be removed from the Void shortly. No one ever stays for long,” The Keeper told her.
“Oh, if this is where ponies teleport to and fro, what would happen if I was to move somewhere else then this spot?” Pinkie inquired, already on the move.
“Then you will simply reappear in a different location. This is potentially dangerous though. There is absolutely no way to determine where it is that you will go. It would appear that you have started to fade,” The Keeper commented, watching Pinkie's form start to fade from view.
“But you never said whether or not you would be my friend!” Pinkie exclaimed.
Changing its shape, the orb that was the Keeper became a hoof and floated its way over to Pinkie. Extending itself out, he presented himself. Slowly reaching towards him with her own hoof, she lightly tapped his right before she faded from view.
“She will accomplish great things some day.” The Keeper said to no one.
Reappearing in the air Pinkie fell onto a soft lump of white. A large bed, the most comfortable that she had ever felt. After a brief moment to ponder, she found herself pressing further and further into it. It was a feeling of bliss, to lose herself in rapture of this mass of white. When Pinkie felt like it couldn't get any better a pleasant, somewhat familiar, scent filled the room. Closing her eyes, she breathed in deeply, taking in as much of the intoxicating scent as she could. She felt an electric shock flow throughout her body. Her head was starting to swim, she just couldn't take all of the sensory input that she was feeling, it was too much. Slowly, with purpose, she readjusted herself.
“Pinkie, you can join us for tea if you would like.” A voice cut through the haze that had developed around her mind.
Startled, Pinkie jerked over to see Princesses Celestia, Cadence, and Luna all sitting around a small table. All three were staring at her, for how long, she did not know.
“Are you okay?” Luna implored, a sort of cheeky smile on her face.
“We were just going to have a small, party of sorts, that the three of us partake in from time to time.” Cadance explained vaguely, “I'm sure that none of us would raise a complaint to having you join us. More is always better.”
“Okie dokie lokie!” Pinkie replied, jumping out of the bed and towards the table.
“So, Aunt Celly, what do you think of my new candles?” Cadance asked.
“They are quite potent, I must admit,” Celestia adjusted her posture before continuing. ”Shall we get started then? I find myself getting restless for this to begin.”
“Now now Tia, we must at least finish one cup of my tea each, its good for the body. Especially before a rather strenuous workout,” Luna threw in her two cents.
With a grunt from Celestia, the three alicorns plus one drank their tea, growing more and more restless as time wore on. After 49.263 seconds Celestia broke the tense silence that had overtaken the group.
“I can't take it anymore! It is time!” Celestia's horn blazed to life and a fancy wooden box came flying out of a closet and onto the table.
The four mares gazed at the box longingly, inside contained everything that would make the entire journey worth it. All four looked at each other before looking back at the ornate wooden box. Slowly the lid came off of the top, light was shining out from under it. It was if the heavens had decided to share their glory for the four in the room. Removing the two objects inside gently, Cadance laid them on the ground for all to see.
“I love the game Twister!” Pinkie exclaimed.
Elsewhere...
Twilight ran from the boutique in the direction of her home, intent of having Spike send an emergency letter to Celestia and request her aid. Sugarcube Corner was a goner, but the imposter needed to be stopped. Reaching her tree with little difficulty besides a mean sweat, Twilight burst through the door.
“Spike! Spike! Where are you?” Twilight called at the top of her lungs.
Failing to receive an answer she ran up the stairs to where Spike usually laid in bed on his days off. No such luck was to be had. She then heard a noise downstairs, as if it was coming from the bathroom. Making her way downstairs she could hear Spike singing rather terribly, it seemed that he was bathing. He had a tendency to do that.
“Spike! I hate to interrupt but I have a very important message to send to Princess Celestia as soon as possible!” Twilight called through the door.
About five minutes later, Spike came out wrapped in a fluffy pink bathrobe, looking quite disgruntled.
“I'm really hoping this is important. This is supposed to be my day off,” Spike complained.
“It is, thank you Spike. I already have the letter written, so I just need you to send it,” Twilight was grateful as she levitated the scroll over to Spike.
Blowing a bit of his enchanted flame Spike paused and looked over at Twilight with a strange expression plastered to his face, ”You know how to write?”
There was a tense moment that hung uncomfortably in the air. Despite the dragon and pony being the only two in the room, Twilight felt as if she was being watched by thousands of eyes. Pound upon pound of judgment was being laid upon her, she wasn't sure that she could take it.
“Yes,” Twilight managed to squeak out at last, proving that in a competition, she just might have a chance of out Fluttershy-ing Fluttershy.
“Then why have I been writing letters for you for all these years!” Spike roared, his temper swelling with righteous indignation
Losing control of his temper Spike let out an unaimed burst of flame. His temper was quickly cut short however when he heard a yelp coming from Twilight. Looking over he saw, for the first time in his life, a pony without a tail. He had also forgotten to mentally switch off his teleporting flame, as he saw a wisp of smoke leaving the house.
“Spike! It's not stopping! Make it stop!” Twilight cried out, looking at herself in horror.
His attention brought back to Twilight, he noticed that his flame was creeping across her body, removing all fur it came into contact with.
What was that fire safety thing that Twilight told me about when I was younger? Oh yeah.
“Trot, jump, and moonwalk Twilight. I'll get some water,” Spike told her as he scurried towards the kitchen.
Not quite thinking straight, as many were inclined to be doing when caught on fire, Twilight obliged, trotting around the library jumping before screeching to a halt to attempt moonwalking. Unfortunately it was then that Twilight recalled that she had never been able to accomplish the move. Tumbling over she rammed into a bookcase, causing several books to fall on top of her, all being consumed by Spike's enchanted flame.
Well, Princess Celestia is certainly in for an odd experience. I hope that she enjoys harlequins. Harlequins? NO!
Scrambling away from the smut she was forced to stock in the library she bumped into her desk. Quills and ink flew everywhere, a good chunk hitting her and dashing away in a wisp of smoke. It was a disaster, it was pandemonium, and Spike was throwing a bucket of water at her. Shocked into stillness she watched the smoke from the bucket of water make its way out of the window.
“Spike! Why did you throw the bucket too?” Twilight pitifully asked.
Resigning herself to having lost this pitiful fight, she summoned a pillow from her room. Laying upon she she sighed as she hit the floor shortly after, her pillow, then her rug both on its way to the princess. This day simply couldn't get any worse.
Elsewhere...
Space Pinkie surveyed the damaged that was around her. This was not the Equestria that she remembered. Damn that Falkor, he had proven himself once again to be one of the laziest creatures that she had ever encountered in her travels. Oh well, she wouldn't let it get her down too bad, she knew what she needed to do to make things better again.
I'll just find Falkor and make a new Equestria again, this time I'll be more specific about my wish. Although I suppose I should get rid of this Equestria first, we wouldn't want the new new one colliding with it would we?
Summoning dark arcane power through unknown means, the sky turned red, lightening crackling in between the clouds. Space Pinkie concentrated, it was no small feat to summon a planet destroying meteor, and it was very easy for it to go wrong.
Now to remember the chant!
“Roe-Te-Mah-Ti-Way-Ti-Ham-Mi! Roe-Te-Mah-Ti-Way-Ti-Ham-Mi!” Space Pinkie chanted, rising into the air.
“Hey Pinkie, what's with the weird weird weather and chanting and stuff?” Rainbows voice cut through her chanting.
“Can't you see I'm busy trying to destroy Equestria Rainbow?” Pinkie snapped, her concentration broken.
“Okay...well, I'll leave to that.” Subdued, Rainbow flew off.
“Alright, now where was I? Oh yeah. Roe-Tem-Peep-Ah-Ti-Way-Ti-Ham-Mi! Roe-Tem-Peep-Ah-Ti-Way-Ti-Ham-Mi!” Space Pinkie's chanting resumed. No one dared to bother the floating pink pony.
“Finally done!” Space Pinkie announced, sinking to the ground with a triumphant face. “Now to blow this joint before this joint gets blown away.” With a giggle and a snort, Space Pinkie concentrated once again.
Moisture began to flow out of her eyes and form a cocoon around her. It wasn't necessarily her favorite way to travel, but it prevented damage from the harsh conditions of space and was easy to conjure up on a whim. As she became further cocooned she raised her hoof into the air. Moments later the cocoon was complete and she rocketed off into space.
Several ponies that saw would later state it was easily the single most strange occurrence in their entire lives.
Elsewhere...And sometime later...
Twilight shivered as she walked to the center of town to see whatever devastation had occurred, Princess Celestia had yet to respond and while she was embarrassed to go out in public sans fur, she was eager to know what state Ponyville was in.
Much to her surprise, it wasn't utterly destroyed. The imposter was no where to be found and several ponies had already started to assess the damages. It was beautific to the logical part of her brain.
Maybe, just maybe today will finally calm down.
Then the eclipse happened.
Nope, I guess that it won't.
Twilight truly felt as if somewhere in the great expanse of existence, some being had it out for her. If she ever met them, well, horns aren't just good for magic. They take well to a good sharpening.
Looking up at the eclipse, she noticed that it had a strange shape to it. It also seemed to have an odd glint to it, almost as if it was a gem or metallic in some fashion. Running back to her home in a tree she grabbed her prized telescope and looked directly at the object. It was rather oblong, with strange characters on it. It seemed to have, what she was guessing to be, a thin metal out layer. What was inside of it, she had no idea. As it turned she saw what appeared to be words written on the side of it.
“What the hay is a Cadbury Egg?” Twilight pondered aloud.
Further looking at it revealed that it was in fact coming closer at an alarming rate. With a few ridiculously difficult calculations that only Twilight was capable of doing, she determined that they only had five minutes before this Cadbury Egg destroyed all of Equestria. With one last ditch letter to Princess Celestia to serve as a warning Twilight ran out to the town square, intent on doing whatever she could to stop the impending Stupendously Massive Cadbury Egg of Horrible Deadly Doom.
As she ran out the door she barreled into Rarity who was clearly about to knock.
“Oh dear, Are you alright darling?” Rarity asked as she picked herself up.
“No time to talk, giant egg about to destroy Equestria.” Twilight called over her shoulder as she ran past.
“Giant egg? What?” Rarity was more confused then she had ever been, but since it was from her darling Twilight, she didn't mind.
Looking over, she levitated her Robo Twilight, intent on having her darling Twilight and Robo Twilight meet each other on more positive terms. Her resolve hardened, she pursued Twilight into the town square.
Upon arrival the mentioned threat had begun to show itself. What all thought was the moon and a rare unscheduled eclipse revealed its detrimental nature. Mass panic started again for the second time that day. Rarity saw Twilight charging all of her magic into her horn, seemingly intent on blasting the approaching egg into oblivion. Her haggard appearance implied that it was not her first shot.
As the magical bolt went off Twilight collapsed to the ground. Her energy significantly drained.
“I can't do it, I just don't have the energy.” Twilight cried as she admitted defeat.
It broke her heart to see her darling Twilight in such a state. Making her way over to her, Rarity helped Twilight up. Giving her a tender hug, Rarity swiftly swooped past Twilight's sundered defenses to press into Twilight's sweet succulent lips.
“Seriously‽ Seriously Rarity‽ Right now of all times‽ As we are about to be obliterated, that's when you decided to kiss me!” Twilight cried out, pulling back sharply.
“In all of my romance novels it always works! The beautiful damsel confesses her love to the dashing hero and he gains the ability to stop whatever the threat is. With all of your talk about the magic of friendship I figured it was worth a shot!” Rarity shot back, looking quite flustered.
During the altercation Robo Twilight had awoken from its slumber. Looking up at the Cadbury Egg, it activated its combat drivers and determined the weak point of the entire structure.
“Rar. It. Y. I. Can. Sto. P. It. Can. I. Get. Your. Ap. Pro. Val.?” Robo Twilight implored his creator.
“You activated the combat drivers? But those were still in beta, last time I tried to activate them they burnt out the core of Robo Rainbow. I never worked on them past that.” Rarity thought out loud as she looked at Robo Twilight.
“I. Know. Bu. T. It. Is. Im. Por. Tan. T. To. Me. I. Love. You. Rar. It. Y. Please. Le. T. Me. Go.” Robo Twilight pleaded its case the best that it could.
Pulling her creation into a hug Rarity felt a large burst of emotion as she realized that it was this or nothing. A soft kiss, “I love you too, Robo Twilight, go,” Rarity said at last. For a moment Rarity would swear that she felt a pulse from Robo Twilight.
Letting go, Robo Twilight activated the boosters that were installed in its feet. Taking off she rocketed towards the Egg.
“Rarity, if we actually manage to survive this, we seriously need to talk about some things,” Twilight said to her best friend as she watched her doppleganger set off on it's mission.
In the uppermost ranges of the atmosphere Robo Twilight set down upon of the surface of the Cadbury Egg. On it sat a cocoon of ice, encased within was Space Pinkie with a horrified look upon its face, as if she knew what was to come. Robo Twilight set to work, diverting all available power to it's core. It didn't want to tell Rarity how it intended to divert the crisis. Better to let her believe that it might be salvageable.
With all of it's spare power diverted, it started to power down all of it's other vital systems, sending all of the power to its core. At last all that was left was simply the AI itself and the core. This was the event horizon, the moment in which there was no going back, if this didn't work, nothing would.
I. Will. Miss. You. Rar. It. Y. Fin. D. Happ. I. Ness. With a final thought, Robo Twilight was no more.
An explosion rocked the Egg down to its center, causing it to spiderweb throughout the entirety of its oblong body. With a hole in its metal sheeting a large rainbow burst from its side making it fly off to the side as the rainbow pushed it off course, into a strange orbit around Equestria.
On The Ground...
“She did it.” Was Rarity's only response as the sun once more made its presence known.
“For whatever it's worth, my condolences for your loss.” Twilight offered, putting her hoof around Rarity and pulling her into a hug.
A trumpet cut through the silence, signaling Princess Celestia's arrival. Dismounting her carriage as it landed she walked over to her faithful student.
“My most faithful student, I came as soon as I had the opportunity. Princesses Luna and Cadence and I were locked in a discussion that simply couldn't wait. I did not have a chance to read your letters until just a moment ago. Although I see that you were able to avert the crisis. Would you like to tell me what you learned today?” Princess Celestia explained before asking her question.
From the rainbow above what appeared to be little chicks made of marshmallow came floating down everywhere. Creating the strangest wonderland of marshmallow that only Discord could have dreamt of, should he have bothered with it.
“These are really good!” Pinkie's voice cut through the silence. “And Celly, next time everyone gets together to play twister, let me know, that was a lot of fun!”
“Twister?” Twilight inquired after a tense moment. “After all that I have been through today, you were playing twister!”
“Its not quite like that Twilight-” Celestia started before getting cut off.
“I have had to deal with an imposter of you that ate buildings! Another Pinkie Pie that came from space! A robotic version of myself that my best friend was doing all sorts of things I don't want to think about with! A giant egg that was set on destroying Equestria! And all of my hair is gone! And you were playing twister!!” Twilight screamed, letting every ounce of frustration that had been building out.
“Please Twilight, I can expla-” Celestia was once again cut off as she was bucked in the face by an irate Twilight.
Time seemed to stop in that moment. As Twilight's back hooves hit her mentor's face all that she had on her mind at that moment was simply, be gone with thee. For the first time all day, reality felt itself being bent to her will as Celestia was thrown from Equestria towards the sun.
And in that moment all of Equestria found themselves with the compulsion to cry out, “HOME RUN!!”
