What made this world the way it is ?

Some say that it has existed like this for tens of thousands of years
other says it always has been like this...
But not a soul knows the truth, only one thing is for sure
the worlds are infinitely far apart, yet are extremely close
connected by a series of holes known as Cross Gates.

At first, contact with entities from other worlds created great confusion,
and eventually led to confict

That fight ended, as wars do...
and for a time, peace was maintained
through a delicate balance of power...

But 23 years ago...
the wreckage from a battleship from
another world crashed down.
