Turnabout Leaf Storm (Crossoverception)
Chapter 1 - The Library
"Tails, have you fixed it yet?" Asked the blue hedgehog to his friend.
"Nearly," he replied. "I've just got to fix the wing and then we're done."
"I'm sorry I trashed the Tornado again, Tails. Now I know that I'll never fly a plane again, that's for sure!"
"It's okay, Sonic. Besides, I have more resources than I need!"
"I'm just gonna get some chilli dogs, Tails. I'll be back in a sonic second!" Sonic ran off to find some of his favourite food. He was about to get some out of his cupboard, when-- "ARGH!!" He shouted as he couldn't move. "What's going on?! I can't move!! Tails!! Help!!"
Is my hand fading away?!
"Sonic?!"
"Tails, I'm getting... Diz...zy... What's going... On?..." With that, he blacked out. Miles stared as his friend faded away from the room.
"S-Sonic!!" He shouted. He reached out to him, but he faded away before he could grab him by the arm.
"Ugh...."
"How did one of Fluttershy's animals get in my library? Who the heck are you?"
...is that Amy?
"Wait, what the heck are you?!"
What kind of question is that?! I'm a hedgehog for goodness' sake.
"I wanted a great Defense Attorney from Equestria, not some giant blue porcupine-rat... Thing!"
Ugh. Do I REALLY look more like a porcupine than a hedgehog? I think I can open my eyes now...
"Ugh... Huh? This isn't Tails' workshop..." He said as he found himself in a large, wooden library. An open floor upstairs contained a bed embedded with a pattern of suns and moons. Downstairs was a staircase in the wall leading to a lower area. On all the floors there were shelves of books which covered almost every wall. Sonic was certain that this wasn't his friend's workshop - far from it.
"Hey, you're a hedgehog, aren't you!" Said a purple horse with a dark blue mane and tail which had a streak of purple and pink in them. On top of its forehead was a blunt horn and its eyes were purple.
"Yup, I'm a hedgehog..." Sonic said. "WAIT WHAT?!"
"Wow, a hedgehog in Equestria, that's amazing!"
"Y-YOU'RE A HORSE!! WHAT'S A HORSE DOING HERE?!"
"Excuse me, I'm not a horse, I'm a pony. There is a difference, you know."
"Oh, okay! A technicolour PONY! I am SO sorry! That explain everything! I thought Eggman made all types of horses extinct! This has got to be some weird, messed up, memory-like dream!!"
"I'm sure you're not. Let me just do this quickly to see if you are dreaming..." The pony said as it quickly knocked the hedgehog with its hoof.
"Ow! What was that for?!" Sonic asked angrily.
"You felt pain, which means you definitely are NOT dreaming."
This thing has a really sick sense of humour and is more annoyingly geeky than Tails is!!
"Are you a Defense Attorney?"
"Uh... Yeah, I am.. Yeah." He lied.
Why am I talking to it?! It's freaky enough that I just pass out on the spot, thinking that I'm dying!!
"Oops... My mistake... Sorry."
"What do you mean 'oops?! I passed out on the spot and woke up here!"
"Well, I casted a spell to summon 'the greatest Defense Attorney in Equestria', but I guess I called upon 'the greatest Defense Attorney' period.
"What's 'Equestria'?!"
"The name of this country."
"But I'm not FROM this country!!"
Man cosmos, you flatter me SO much.
"Well, can you please send me back? Like, RIGHT NOW!! My stomach's empty! I was just getting a chilli dog to eat!"
"What's a 'chilli dog'? Is it a frozen dog?"
"No, it's a piece of meat with--"
"That's disgusting!! Who in the right mind would eat meat?! You must be really sick, mister. But anyway, this is perfect!!"
"Why?"
"I'm in need of a great Defense Attorney... And you just happen to be here..."
"Actually you just kidnapped me with your crazy magic!!"
"A... Minor seat back."
"MINOR?!"
"Yeah... But can you please represent my friend?"
"Honestly I'm still shocked that I'm talking to an animal that a guy I hate made extinct a few years ago!! Can you just send me back and get another poor vict-- I mean, guy willing to help, do it?!"
"I really need help, mister! My friend's life is at stake..."
"Let me just get my head together... First off who are you, and where am I?"
"My name is Twilight Sparkle. I'm a student of Princess Celestia, the ruler of Equestria. I'm chronicling the magic of friendship for her, and you're in the town of 'Ponyville'."
"Celestia? Magic of Friendship? Ponyville?... Wait, are you telling me that there's MORE ponies?!"
"Mhm, almost all of Ponyville's inhabitants are ponies. Why do you ask?"
"This may come as a shock to you, but... It's just my enemy, an evil scientist kinda... Destroyed all the horses, ponies, donkeys, and other stuff like that so they're all extinct..."
"Well, obviously that didn't happen... Hey, I know! I'll be right back!" Twilight Sparkle ran off to various bookshelves. At each shelf her horn began to glow with a wisteria light and then she dragged tons of books off the shelves with it, but she carefully placed them back after doing so.
Is she dragging books around with her horn?!
"Found it!" Said the pony as she skidded to a halt in front of the hedgehog. "Here's the book! You're new here, so read this... Er... 'Detailed' encyclopaedia of different types of ponies in Equestria."
"Wait, it says it's for early ages on the cover!"
"Well, this stuff is kind of common knowledge around here."
Expecting the book to say things like ponies, horses and donkeys, Sonic opened the book that said 'The Fillies' Guide To Ponies' on its brown cover.
"Earth ponies founded land, unicorns use magic and Pegasi soar through the air... I read it cover to back in ten seconds flat!! You call this detailed?" Twilight sighed and lowered her head in dismay "I-I'm sorry. I guess I shouldn't look a gift... pony... in the mouth."
"It's not that. It's my friend. I know she's innocent and didn't do anything; she's not the type of pony that does that; but she's going to be punished for a crime she never even committed."
"What's she being accused of?" he asked, slightly sweating. He had only ever done something like this once and even then it was something that was a little over the top for his first time as a Defense Attorney.
"Murder." Twilight said, frowning. "Murder never happens in Ponyville, never mind Equestria, so the punishments are very severe..."
Was I sent back in time to before Eggman made horses extinct or something? If so, it's a bit strange here.
"What's the punishment?"
"...Banishment."
"Well, that's not as bad as being made extinct--"
"To the moon, or even the sun. I tried to convince the princess to go easy on her, but she'll have no choice but to banish her if she's guilty. Even if she's one of the seven Elements Of Harmony."
"Being sent to the sun is 'going easy on someone'? ...So, do you know any of the details?"
"Not much, just that my friend was near the scene when it happened. That's why she's the main suspect."
"Where's she now?"
"The Ponyville Detention Center."
"Have you spoken with her since?"
"I would, but the guards won't let me in."
"Why not?"
"I can only get in with a Defense Attorney; that's why I tried to call one."
"Let's go see your friend then."
"Really? You'll take it? That's great!!"
"Of course I will! If someone's gonna be banished, we've gotta help them out!"
"Thank you for choosing to help me, Sonic!"
That sparked something in his mind. "How did you know my name? I haven't told you my name yet."
"I-I did a quick... identification spell. Yes, an identification spell."
"Identification spell?"
"Mhm. Anyway, let me get some things before we leave." Twilight went off searching for some things whilst Sonic was still standing in the middle of the room.
After I get her in there so she can talk to her friend, I'll make her send me home; unless I find a Chaos Emerald or something. I'm not interested in the world of Crime anyway. If something goes wrong, I'll just break in and get out with her.
