Guardians

Waking up, I remembered everything from the day before. I had promised to tell my friends about it in the morning. I was reluctant to tell them, but a promise is a promise.

I met the princesses, the elements of harmony, Shield, Zecora, and the two male alicorns Lunar and Blaze in the main hall.

"Ok what happened?" they asked. I told them about freeing the zebras, the airship, and the battle with Chrysalis.

"I knew Chrysalis was clever, but anticipating my movements is a new level of cleverness. It seems like she was stronger than the last time I faced her." I said.

"Maybe it has something to do with Dodge Junction. Ace just disappeared after that." Celestia said.

"I think I would have known if Ace was captured, I didn't sense any other creatures in their lair other than changelings. Ace might have been captured and locked up in another location." I told them.

"We cannot worry about it now, we know the changelings are planning another attack and we must prepare for the zebras and buffalos arrival." Celestia said. We all went on about our day, Shield and me were in charge of our allies arrival.

(A few days later)

The buffalos were approaching Canterlot with the zebras among them.

"Good to see you again Chief Thunderhooves, and the three of you too. Glad to see you made it safely." I greeted the buffalo chief and my zebra friends. Everypony else was there too. Zecora walked up to greet the freed zebras who cheered at her appearance.

It took nearly a month for all the buffalos and zebras to get situated, and the next two months were spent working on tactics and military formations. General, Lieutenant, and Scout lead the zebras, Shield lead the royal guards, Chief Thunderhooves lead the buffalos, and I worked on controlling my powers. It wasn't long after everypony was finally ready for battle that we saw the changeling ship on the horizon.

"This is the final battle." My darkness said.

"Yeah, we need to be careful; we don't know what Chrysalis is capable of now." I agreed.

"You've been working on controlling your powers for a while, do you think you're ready?" It asked.

"I can only hope I am." I responded. The conversation ended and I rejoined my friends. Everypony was in position, ready for the worst.

"The time has come." Celestia said.

"Whatever happens, we must be willing to fight with all we have." Twilight added.

"No matter how great the challenge, we must win." Shield stated.

"All of us together will forge a bright path into the future." I finished. "Get ready to charge."

As the seconds passed, the airship got closer and eventually stopped. All was silent, nothing could be heard until the ship doors opened. Only Chrysalis came out.

"You think that this pathetic force can stop us, I planned to use all of the elements against you, but I guess one will be enough." She said.

"What are you talking about?" I asked puzzled.

"I'll show you. This is my secret weapon." She said before stepping aside and a figure appeared from behind her.

Every one of my friends gasped. "Ace!" Rainbow Dash yelled in tears. I was in total shock, the hero I had heard so many good things about, was with the enemy.

"This is wrong." Was the last thing I said.
