Chapters As Jeron stared at the ceiling of his room,he thought to himself"what am I going to do with my life?".He had just graduated from college about a month ago and his job at the local coffee shop in Canterlot was not paying well,which was surprising since Canterlot was a rather fancier or "richer" place.
Jeron decided to see if his best friend,Alec,wanted to hang out later in the day,and probably talk about what they wanted to do with their lives.The alicorn hovered to the bedroom door and stepped into his hallway,as he saw pictures of him and his friends and family.He saw him,,his brother Shining Armor,and his younger sister,Twilight Sparkle.He walked out of the living room and stepped out of the door.Closing it behind him.He flew around Canterlot,looking for Alec's house.He found his house two blocks away.
Jeron landed and knocked on the door. Alec answered the door and saw his friend."Hey Jeron,what's up"."Nothing,how about you?"Jeron replied."Not much,what brings you here?"Alec answered and asked. Jeron thought for a second"Oh yeah,do you want to hang out for a little while?"Alec thought about his schedule for the day,which was completely empty."Sure,I'm not busy today."Alec replied."Awesome".Said Jeron."Can I come in?"He asked."Sure,come on in."
Jeron walked in as Alec closed the front door.They took a seat on one of the small couches in the living room."Hey Alec,have you ever wondered what you're going to do with your life?"asked Jeron."Actually,no,I was just thinking I would just stay in Canterlot and think as I go."Replied Alec."Oh,well I've always dreamed to do something to do with music,such as singing or something like that."Said Jeron. Alec thought"You know what,I bet you would be a good singer,obviously,since music is your talent according to your cutie mark."It was a blue flaming lightning bolt with a guitar crossing it.Making an X."Oh yeah,I remember that day like it was yesterday."Jeron thought of ideas for jobs relating to music."Come to think of it,OH MY GOSH,I GOT IT!"He exclaimed.He flew up and did small loops in the air."You got what"?Asked Alec,very confused."We should make a band." Jeron shouted."We can be the best ponies in Equestria,all we need is some more members and some instruments and BINGO!"
Alec,at first thought this was a crazy idea,but thought about how fun and cool it would be to be in a band,doing music,with tons of screaming fans.Alec stood up and said to Jeron"Okay,I'm in,but what are we going to do to start this band,we need some more ponies,don't we?"Alec asked."
Jeron nodded and pondered for a moment."I have an idea,we can do auditions,at my house later this week,or maybe even later today!"He said."I have my guitar,and you have yours,so you and I are set,now we just need something to play the instruments with,AHA!" "I'll be back in a few hours,okay?"Jeron asked.Okay,Alec answered.
Two ours later...
"Finally,they're complete!"
Jeron pat himself on the back when he witnessed his creation.Freshly made,lying on a small metal tray,were four golden metal gauntlets,cooling down after being smelted for two whole hours.He put on his saddlebag and put the gauntlets in it.He zoomed back to Alec's house and knocked on the door again."hello Jeron,again."Alec said to his friend."Hey Alec"Replied Jeron."Do you want to do those auditions today?"Alec asked.
"No,we're not ready,we need to make some posters and stuff to tell where the auditions are to be held."Jeron said sternly."Alright" Said Alec as he shrugged his shoulders and nodded.Let's get tarted shall we?"Asked Jeron."Yes,LET THE PRINTING BEGIN!"Alec exclaimed before the two started to burst into laughter.
After a few days of printing flyers and posters,everything was set!
Jeron and Alec sat in the living room of Jeron's house,preparing the auditions for the new band members.The first pony to appear was a deep blue stallion with a red mane."Hello,what is your name and kind of instrument are you good with?"Jeron asked."Well,my name is Borous and I am really good at the piano."He replied."Alright then let's hear what you can do,Borous.Alec gave him a keyboard piano for him to play.It was some of the best piano playing Jeron had ever heard.There was such great sound to the music and it was so graceful."Alright dude, you can stop.Borous stopped playing and he prepared himself for bad news."That...WAS SOME OF THE BEST PIANO I HAVE EVER HEARD,YOU ARE DEFINITELY IN,MY FRIEND!Jeron exclaimed."Are you serious?"Asked Borous."Yes,that was really good music,you're in dude."Borous grinned.Jeron told him"Alright,we'll tell you when our first band practice session is,okay,Borous?"Borous nodded and they shook hooves as Borous wlked out the door.
It took about an hour to find another pony who was actually good.A bight gray unicorn walked in with a confident look on his face."Hello,what's you name and what instrument are you good at?"Jeron asked."My name is Angus,and I am good at playing the bass and guitar". "Wow,you are just what we've been looking for,Angus"Said Jeron after they heard him play."You're in.""Awesome!"Angus exclaimed.Angus turned around and walked out of the house.
Then,the final pony came in,a beautiful,bright white pegasus mare with a black mane and tail flew into the house.Jeron couldn't help but stare in amazement of how pretty she looked.She was holding two drumsticks,clearly saying she was good at drums."H-Hello,what is your name and what instrument are you good with?"Asked Jeron,clearly failing his attempt to hide his affection."My name is Eliah,and I am pretty good with drums."She replied."Wow,you're the last pony to appear and you're the only one that's good with that,that's actually pretty ironic."Alec commented."Let's s-see what you've got,E-Eliah."Said Jeron.
Eliah was puzzled."Are you okay,you seem a little shaky"Asked Eliah.Jeron wondered what to say."I'm fine."Jeron said sternly.He handed her a sheet of a specific beat to follow with the drums.She sat down at the drum set Jeron and Alec had provided her.
She started playing,and she did it perfectly,Jeron and Alec stared wide-eyed as they witnessed a pure genius playing."Whoa,that was awesome,you are in."Eliah grinned and Jeron spoke again."We'll tell you when we start practicing,okay?"Eliah nodded and walked out the door with her drumsticks in her sadlebag."Awesome,looks like we have a band,Alec!
"Said Jeron."Alright,but will you tell me why you brought your saddlebag here?"Asked alec."Oh yeah,I have something to show you."Replied Jeron.He opened his saddlebag and levitated the gauntlets out of the bag.He flew over to Alec.Alec stared in awe as he saw Jeron's creations."You like them?" "I made them a few days ago,now,we have something to grip onto the instruments with,I feel that these are better than holding the instruments with our bare hooves."Said Jeron."Dude,nice!"Alec exclaimed.They high-hoofed and Jeron put one pair of the gauntlets on Alec's kitchen counter."Alright,I'm gonna go home and get my guitar ready,you should do the same,Alec"Said Jeron."Yeah,we should get practicing soon."Replied Alec."Plus,I have to get to smelting some more of those gauntlets."Said Jeron as he walked out of the door.
Jeron thought aloud"It's time to prove those jerks wrong,I'm tired of them ALWAYS insulting me.They kept telling me I'm a failure and I'll never make it,well I'm gonna do it,I'm gonna prove them wrong and guess who'll be laughing then?"Upon thinking that,Jeron smirked as he trotted home.
Jeron sat in his bedroom,wandering if he was ever going to try to confess to Eliah about how he felt."Why did I have to have feelings that were this strong,it's really bugging me,should I tell her or wait and see if she will tell me eventually."He sighed and stepped out of his bed."Not only do we have the recording for the contest to worry about,but I also have to deal with my feelings for Eliah."
He heard a knock at the front door.Jeron walked to the door and opened it.When he did,he saw Eliah with a determined look on her face.
"Eliah,what are you doing here,not that I mind your company."Asked Jeron.
"Jeron,can I come in?"He nodded with a slightly puzzled look on his face.He gestured for Eliah to come in and take a seat.As soon as Jeron closed the door and turned around,he had realized the feeling of something wrapped around him.Jeron looked down and saw that Eliah had wrapped her forelegs around him and was nuzzling his neck."Jeron,I have a confession to make,I know that I've only known you for about three weeks,but I can't go without telling you anymore."
"A confession?"His eyes widened,without Eliah seeing his face."Yes,Jeron,now let me speak.Don't be mad or upset with me when I say this,but I've actually had...sort of a crush on you for a while now."
Jeron couldn't believe what was happening.He thought to himself "Oh sweet Celestia,please let this be real."He finally found the courage to speak."Eliah,are you serious?"
"Yes,I'm very serious.When I met you at the auditions,I thought you were really cool,and when we practiced for the first time,I realized it was more,"
He smirked and thought to himself again."Alright,that's it,I'm telling her NOW!"
"Eliah,I...I...I've been feeling that way too."Eliah looked at Jeron and grinned"Really?"He nodded.Eliah was still wrapped around him.Jeron returned the embrace and said"Well this definitely was an...eventful morning.Eliah,do you want to stay here and have some breakfast,I haven't eaten anything yet and I'm getting kinda hungry."
Eliah laughed."Yes,I would love to,thank you."
Jeron took a few pans out of the cabinets in his kitchen and prepared the stove."You're welcome,now how do you like your eggs?"
One hour later...
As Jeron and Eliah finished their eggs and pancakes,Jeron put the dishes in the sink.He turned around and walked to the table."Hey Eliah,I've been thinking and I would like to ask you,would you like to go out with me next Saturday?"Eliah grinned and hugged him tightly."YES!"She exclaimed.Jeron returned the hug and smirked."Well,just so you know,you don't have to dress up all fancy or anything,you can just wear normal attire so don't stress over that,okay?"
"Thank goodness,all the other dates I've ever gone on required me to dress all special,finally that can stop."They both laughed. During the rest of the day,they talked about normal things like what is their favorite music,their favorite movies,and stories and things like that.Unfortunately,it was getting late and Eliah had to go home."Well Jeron,it's been fun but I'm gonna have to go now."
Jeron walked her to the door"Alright,well walk or fly safely,okay?"
Eliah chuckled"I'll make sure of it."She turned to face Jeron and gave him a peck on the cheek."Thanks for having me over."
"Thanks for coming,I'll see you Saturday around seven,is that alright?"
"That's fine,it'll give me just enough time to get ready,well,goodbye Jeron."
"Bye,Eliah."
As Eliah flew into the air,Jeron closed the door and he thought about what had happened all day."Yes,I can't believe she likes me!" "And now I'm gonna get to go out with her,this is so awesome,now to prepare for the contest some more."He stepped down to his basement to get ready,the band still awaited it's dream to come true.
Three days after 'The Confession'
Today was the day.It was time to make the song and submit it to the contest judges.Jeron stood outside his house,waiting for everypony.He lit and smoked a cigarette while waiting.Angus was the first to arrive.Hey Angus."
"Hey Jeron,wait,you smoke?"Angus replied.
"Yeah,why?"
Angus shrugged"I don't know,I just never thought of you as a smoking kind of pony,so,what's up?"Jeron lowered the cigarette and spoke.
"Well,Eliah and I are going out on Saturday,so that's exciting."Replied Jeron.
"Do you mean,like on a date?"
"Yep."Jeron said,smirking.Eliah and Borous arrived fifteen minutes later.They talked for about five minutes before Alec showed up instantly."I'm not late,am I?"Asked Alec
Jeron shook his head"No,we're not really timing anyone to get here.But enough waiting,let's get to making that song."Said Jeron as he gestured everypony into the house.Eliah and Jeron were the last to walk in."Don't forget about that date on Saturday."Said Eliah as she kissed him on the cheek."How could I forget?"Replied Jeron.He let her enter first and he followed,closing the door behind all of them.They all went down to his basement.After everypony's instruments were ready,and Jeron turned on his recorder,Alec started playing his guitar,accompanied by Jeron's.After about twenty seconds of instrumentals,he began singing.

After they finished that part of their song,they stopped and Jeron turned off the recorder."Alright,I just need to go to the post office and send this recording and we'll be good to go!"He exclaimed.They all high hoofed and Alec spoke."Hey guys,do you want to hang out for a while more or are you guys busy?,and maybe we can think of some lyrics for some more songs."
They all thought it was actually a pretty good idea so they all stayed at Jeron's house for about five hours.It was starting to get dark."Well guys,it's been fun,but I gotta roll."Said Borous."Okay,see ya later,oh and I'll tell you if anything for the contest comes up an-OH SHIT!"exclaimed Jeron as he had remembered something important."What is it,Jeron?"asked Eliah,in a confused and afraid voice."We have to have a name for our band before we submit the tape!Do any of you have any ideas?"he asked.They all shook their heads except for Alec."How do you like 'Rockers Of Equestria' "suggested Alec with a little bit of 'visionary'in his voice.Jeron pondered the name."Rockers Of Equestria,hmmmm...wow,I actually like that,good idea Alec."
Jeron turned to look at Alec,who had a triumphant grin on his face.Jeron snickered at his reaction and waited for everypony's feeling of the band name.They all made a thumbs up with their gauntlets."Then,R.O.E. it is."he said."Does anypony else have to go?We could fit in a little bit of singing."Eliah immediately said"I can stay!"Eliah just simply loved to hear Jeron sing with the high and low notes he could reach..Jeron smirked."Well,somepony's excited,so,does anypony else want to stay?"he asked.
"Sorry,but I have to get to work early tomorrow."said Borous in an aplogetic voice."It's fine."replied Jeron."And I'm really tired,I'm gonna go on home."Alec commented."Same here."added Angus as he yawned."Bye."they all said in unison.Jeron snickered at the slight coincidence.Angus,Borous,and Alec walked upstairs to the front door.When they left,Jeron asked Eliah"Why were you so excited to stay here?"Eliah blushed slightly"Well,I love the high and low notes you can hit when you sing,it always seems impossible when I try to do that."
Jeron smiled when he heard that."Wow,thanks for saying that,you know what,I've never heardyou sing before,I bet it's awesome."
"Are you flirting with me,Jeron?"asked Eliah with a smirk.He chuckled."Maybe."they both laughed and Eliah snuggled up to Jeron."I'm excited about Saturday."said Eliah as she nuzzled him."Me too,it's gonna be awesome."he replied.They stayed there,nuzzling and such.The singing could wait,they wanted to spend some actual time together.
Jeron walked into his house, followed by his new marefriend, Eliah.
"That date was wonderful." Said Eliah as she kissed Jeron deeply.
As their lips parted, Jeron started to speak."Yes it was, and I had a wonderful time."
They went downtown to have dinner at the cafe where Jeron worked, and after that, they went to a college auditorium and Jeron had sung a special song that he had written for Eliah.
"So, what do you want to do now?" She asked.
"Well, I do have another song for you." Replied Jeron
"Really?" Asked Eliah with a smile. Jeron nodded
"Would you like to hear it?" Asked the dark colored alicorn.
"I would love to." Said Eliah with the same smile still on her face.
"Then follow me." He said as he lead her to his basement.
He allowed her to go down the stairs first, as any gentlecolt would. She smiled at the kind gesture as she walked, followed by her coltfriend. Eliah then took a seat on one of the couches in the room and she watched as Jeron prepared.
As he reached for his acoustic guitar, his flank caught Eliah's eye.
"Are you checking me out?" Jeron asked with a chuckle.
Eliah shook her head to snap herself out of her trance.
"What? Oh, um, no, I was, uh..."
"Eliah, calm down, it's alright, don't get so worked up, anyways, I'm ready to do that song now."
"Okay."
Jeron put on his gauntlets and grabbed his guitar. He started plucking the strings on the instrument. And as soon as he felt that the time was right, he began quietly singing

Jeron then put the guitar down and looked to his marefriend. "So, how was it?" He asked as he moved to sit next to her.
She started crying tears of joy. "That was so beautiful!" said Eliah. "I loved it."
Jeron took Eliah in his arms. "Well, I'm glad you liked it."
After Eliah was able to regain her composure, Jeron began to speak.
"Damn, I am exhausted."
"Me too." Replied Eliah.
"Wanna stay here tonight?" Jeron asked.
"Sure, if you don't mind." Said the white pegasus.
"Oh no, I do not mind at all." Said Jeron with a yawn and a slight chuckle. "Alright, well, let's go." He said.
The pair then walked up to Jeron's bedroom and climbed into the bed. Jeron then turned to face his marefriend. He then kissed her and pulled the covers over them. Jeron then turned the other way to turn off the lamp. He felt a hoof wrap around his torso. He also felt Eliah's head rest on the back of his neck. The stallion smiled and spoke quietly "Goodnight."
"Goodnight." Replied Eliah.
He then closed his eyes, and fell asleep.
It was a peaceful day in Cantrelot. Jeron was in his basement,practicing his guitar and writing lyrics for a new song.After practicing and writing for about twenty minutes,he decided to turn on his radio to listen to music or news.The current station had gone on a commercial break. During the first advertisement,an announcement was being made.
"Do want your music heard all across the world?"Jeron's eyes widened and his ears perked up as he turned up the radio volume.
"If so,then enter the Canterlot radio music contest,just submit a recording or demo of you or your band singing and if you make it to the final two,you will compete against the other finalist in a battle of the bands later this month."
"The winner of the battle will have their music announced all across the world of Equestria!"
The commercial ended and Jeron immediately tried to contact Alec,Angus,Borous,and Eliah via telepathic communication spell.
(Notice:This is where Jeron begins to talk to them)
Jeron's horn started to glow as he tried to speak to Alec 'in his head'.
"Alec,are you there,it's me,Jeron."
Just then,Alec heard a strange voice in his mind."Jeron,how are you talking to me,I can't see you anywhere."The unicorn then remembered the telepathic spell he had shown him a while back."Oh wait never mind,now I remember,but what is it that you want to talk to me about?"
"I heard an ad on my radio about a music contest that's going on throughout the month,and I have an idea,we just have to submit a recording of us singing and playing music and if we make it into the final two we're gonna compete in a battle of the bands,we've been practicing for a while now and I think we'e ready!"Replied Jeron.
Alec thought for a minute."Oh why not,it would be pretty cool to do that."
"You're damn right it would,well Alec,I've gotta spread the word to the others,can you come by my house later today so we could make that recording?"
"Sure."
Jeron smirked."Alright,see you later."He ended the conversation and repeated the same with the other members,.Also,he was pretty happy and proud of himself because he could talk to Eliah without screwing up or feinting at the sound of her voice(yes,he likes her that much).The only problem was that he had a strong headache from using that spell so many times.He went upstairs to take a nap before everypony got there."This might be our gateway to a new life,a new journey."All it would take is some time and our destiny is sure to unfold."
"We're gonna make that recording,and win that contest,I believe in myself and this band enough to know that we will."
