The ponies stood. Groggily they looked around.

“Wow!! Dashie you're alive!” Pinkie bounced with excitement.

Rainbow Dash looked around, jarred by this new experience. She had been sitting on her cloud relaxing. Where was she now? Calmly she accessed the situation with the proficiency of the manager of the Rainbow Factory. She saw a room that was a dark gray rectangular with red carpet dividing it. Two circular wells with a slight mist emanating from them. Caught in the mist were tiny planets, miniatures, with names. The red carpet leading to the other side of the room where a raised platform held a very large throne. Behind that, there were two metal doors.

“Ohmigod! Big Macintosh has a raging erection!” Pinkie's observation did little to add to the situation, thought Dash. And what about this weird scarred Rarity? She seemed to edge closer and closer to that strange Big Macintosh. Then there was the school teacher, Cheerilee was it? That gray Pegasus pony that really should have been taken to the factory was looking around inquisitively. Weirdest of all, Fluttershy was sitting in the corner in a straight jacket and a face mask.

Offering one explanation, Cheerilee said “I entered a portal to get here”

Some of the ponies agreed with her. Rainbow Dash and others talked about not knowing what happened.

There was a great flash of light and smoke and out of the smoke a familiar figured appeared. “Why hello all of you, some of you might know me, other might not. I am the god of chaos, you may call me Discord. I'm sure you all have questi-”

“I do!! I Do!! I killed Dashie so how is she here right now?!?”

“Yes, interrupt me! That's the best way to get results... I took you all from different possible versions of the My Little Pony universe. Something called a multivirse, I'm not gonna explain it all to you. It is irrelevant.”

“My little pony?” Dash inquired “wouldn't it be the Equestrian universe.”

“You would think but no...”

A small pause then “Why are we here?”

“Yes, it seems in recent revelations that in most of the planets, I, the god of chaos, am turning to the side of good because of what Fluttershy did on a certain planet. Crazy, I know! It's happening on over 90% of the realities. In very few am I still a bad guy and in most of them I'm a bastardized version of myself... and in one of them I'm even named Q....” He looked out the window before continuing, “So... I have gathered you from the corners for the multiverse because you all are the most evil incarnations of your respective personas.”

“Where are Twilight and Apple Jack?”

“Well, it seems that they don't have any incarnations that meet the requirements...”

Looking into the mist from one of the wells, Rarity said ,“what about on that world, the world marked Severing”

He glared at Rarity for a short while then continued “So... anyway, you all have been chosen for your aptitude for murder.”

“Oh!! Fun!!”

“Well, let's put up the kill counts on the board... Show them, Johnny.”

Above Discord there materialized a Family Feud style display with seven slots. Suddenly, Discord was in a sparkly suit and a bunch of flash cards were in his hand. “In seventh place with a total ... oh pathetic.... zero... how the hell did you get here Derpy?.... In sixth place with only one... one cat.... hummm you guys are rather pathetic so far eh? Congrats Rarity.... Here we go in Fifth with one... one known at least, we have Fluttershy. In fourth we have Big Macintosh with three... but not just any three his little sister and her friends. In third, oh a big jump up,we have Cheerilee with eleven ... Let's go on to number two!! With around 160 kills... well that escalated quickly.. I mean 11 to 160... we have Pinkie Pie!! And lastly in number one, Dash who was responsible whether directly or indirectly, nearly 1000.”

“Really I figured it was more than that...”

Discord then materialized a gold trophy with a pony head on the top with a knife sticking out of it. “Here you go Dashie Dash, a little memento. Now, down to business, the reason that the multiverse is called My Little Pony is rather simple. This whole multiverse is contingent on the fate of one of these worlds.”

“Humm?”

“Well, there is one world that all the other worlds are contingent upon. Think of it as the original world or the first planet. All the other worlds, no matter how obscure, have a thread rooting them to this one world. That original world uses the handle 'My Little Pony'.” With that, the image of the land of a peaceful Equestria appeared over the head of Discord.

“This is the world that we must attack , we must intervene to stop the spread of good. Or we will all begin to... change.”

“How do you know that this is the most pivotal world?”

“You see, this world is connected with all other worlds in existence” With that, the image over Discord pulled back and revealed the entire planet. then back even further to show countless planets similar to the first planet. Some very close to the first one, some far far away. All connected to the first one by a thread. “Recently, in the original planet, I became friends with Fluttershy and the rest of them. Now watch what happened.”

The first planet became a little brighter, and it slowly spread, making the other worlds brighter one by one. Rainbow watched this coolly then responded, “where are the worlds we came from?”

The diagram slowly moved to show dark, foreboding worlds. Worlds with almost no light. With that Discord spoke, “You are all from an area of the multiverse called 'GrimDark'. It is the darkest place in the multiverse.... with the possible exception of 'Clopfics'...”

“Ohh!! What's a Clopfic?”

“Nothing, Pinkie. Nothing at all...” Pinkie frowned intently. “Anyway if we are going to attempt to make any change then we are gonna need to infiltrate this wonderful world called My Little Pony. Some of you would be terribly out of place. Rarity and Fluttershy for sure.., so you'll stay here.”

“The fact is someone must infiltrate this world and kidnap... NOT kill, a key pony. We will need to extract data from the one who is kidnapped so that, when she is replaced, no one will know. I think that the best one for this mission would be Rainbow Dash. You went years faking being friends with the other five.”

“That would be fine, But first let me ask you this...?”

“What?”

“Exactly what do I get for doing this? What's my motivation?”

“I am a god with nearly infinite power, so whatever you want.”

She bent close to his ear and whispered.

“Fair enough,” he muttered, “fair enough.”

Rainbow Dash had been following her 'wonderful' self for about a day and a half. It seemed that she was exited, the Equestria Games where coming to the Crystal Kingdom and she thought Cloudsdale should have won them long ago. This rubbed GrimDark Dash the wrong way. While this wonderful Dash was happily prancing around as a foal, she had been forced to watch as they killed helpless ponys merely for their color.

The Wonderful Dash was in the middle of doing her cloudscaping when GrimDark Dash made her move. A look of complete bewilderment crossed Wonderful Dash's face as she was chloroformed by Grim Dash. The portal opened and Grim pushed Wonderful in.

It was beginning, grim was replacing wonderful.
