//-------------------------------------------------------// Equestria Uprising -by AudaxTempus- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Uprising //-------------------------------------------------------// Uprising The day started out as normal as any. Rainbow invited the ponies to one of her weekly picnics under her cloud house. On the way there, traveling over the mountains to reach the valley below which her home floated, a certain pony slipped on a rocky ledge. Gripping the path with her fore-hooves, she gritted her teeth and tried to pull herself up. Her hind legs scrabbled at the cliff face, not finding a hold to catch on. She heaved, and pulled herself right up onto the path. She panted a sigh of relief and checked for injuries. She had a couple small scratches, some of which were slowly bleeding. The blood came mostly from a gash on her shoulder a sharp piece of rock made as she pulled herself up. The thick, syrupy red liquid ran down her foreleg, dripping off the edge of the stony path. Rainbow's domain might be in a grassy valley between beautiful hills, but the walk there was dangerous. It made sense, as the design would keep out non-flying intruders, as well as be easily accessible to her, being a Pegasus pony and all. She certainly didn't make the journey any easier for her friends, as she expected them to be able to overcome the challenges. The orange mare sat and took off her hat for a moment. She breathed in and out deeply, which made her again joyed to remember the nature of the picnic: a private celebration of Twilight's coronation. She then continued her trek to the domain at which Rainbow's house was. Celestia, how annoyed she was by that filly of a pony sometimes. _______________________________________________________________________________________ "Hey! Get over here!" a high pitched voiced screamed. "You're...oh, I'll just come over there!" Pinkie popped out from behind a nearby bush. Applejack could see the picnic not too far off, maybe fifty yards away. "You're late, sillyhead! We've been waiting for you so we can start!" A blur of colors was seen accelerating towards Applejack. "Wha--aaaaah!" the peach colored mare screamed as she was thrown back several feet into a rock. A loud thump was heard as she hit the it. "That has got to hurt," Rainbow said to Pinkie. "Hey, Miss Stetson!" she shouted. "We know you're busy being late and all, but is there a chance you could join us?" "If you don't mind getting beaten in another eating contest!" Applejack replied. Rainbow Dash hopped up into the air as she started laughing hysterically. "Okay, sugar cube, time to set sail for, uh...over there." Applejack uttered as she stood up from the base of the boulder, gesturing towards the large picnic cloth on top of a small knoll within the valley. Once Applejack, Dash, and Pinkie arrived at the picnic, looks of confusions were cast from the remaining three ponies. "Applejack, are you okay?" Twilight asked worriedly. "You have cuts all over." "Ah, it's nuthin'. I was just on edge, with, ya know...an edge." "You fell off a cliff?" Twilight exclaimed, Rainbow looking baffled. "I had no idea, I mean, I could have helped--" "Twi, darlin'," Applejack said, cutting her off, "You can't even fly yet! How were you plannin' to stop me from fallin' off a ledge?" Twilight looked down, ashamed. "Sorry, honey, I didn't mean to offend you by it." Applejack said guiltily. She eyed Dash with a pondering expression. "Maybe Rainbow Dash could give you lessons!" "What?!" said Rainbow, startled. "Well...I hate to say it, but that's a pretty good idea." "Well," Twilight said, butting into the conversation, "I think it's a great idea. We could start right after this!" "My dea---oh my, what is that?" Rarity asked, staring over the top of the hill. The rest of the ponies craned their neck to see what Rarity was looking at. A voice was heard coming into earshot, chanting, "Equality! If she can become one, why can't we?!" A rectangular slate came into view, holding the words REVOLUTION: FIGHT BACK. "What the in the buck is that?" asked Rainbow Dash. The rest of the ponies shrugged. "Oh, my," Fluttershy said, ducking her head, "it's a protester. I mean, I think." "We want equality! We want justice!" "And we want you to shut up," Applejack muttered. More voices were heard. It sounded like a large crowd was surrounding the picnic, and a second glance outwards confirmed this theory "Freedom and equality!" they chanted. "Justice and balance!" "What in the hay?" Applejack said confusedly. An off-white colored stallion approached them. "Give us the alicorn! Give us peace!" he yelled at them. The crowd roared their agreement. Fluttershy was shaking and hiding her head. "Why do you want Twilight?" Applejack asked angrily. "If she can make her an alicorn, why not us? Why not everypony?!" "The princess didn't make Twi an alicorn, Twilight became one herself!" "One doesn't simply become an alicorn! It was staged! That monarch was just biased towards her oh-so-perfect student, and made her reign over us!" "That's not true, and you know it!" Rarity huffed indignantly. "She demonstrated a perfect understanding of the element of friendship, and Celestia guided her through her transformation." "Do you really believe that, fancy fashion pony?" another voice from the crowd scoffed. "She's obviously brainwashed you! Do you know what kind of powers alicorns have?" "Another good reason why not everyone should be an alicorn!" Rainbow Dash retorted. "Twilight has proved she is responsible and understanding enough to handle that kind of power!" "Yeah, don't you think there might even be a few others in this entire country that are worthy to handle immense power?!" yet another voice called. "Just hold up there!" Applejack replied. "Before, you wanted all ponies to be alicorns, now you only want a select few? To me, it just seems like you fools are giving in to our point!" "You can argue however long you want, monarch-worshiper, but we have the greater numbers!" the original stallion screamed at the top of his lungs. "YES," the crowed roared. "We can take her!" "REVOLUTION!" they bellowed. "REVOLUTION, REVOLUTION!" The chanting was reaching a deafening pitch, climbing ever louder. Then, without warning, the entire swarm, hundreds and hundreds of ponies, came crashing in on the tiny picnic. Rainbow Dash shot upwards, then back down, flying parallel to the ground and knocking many ponies off their feet, a rainbow streaming behind her tail. Applejack was on the front lines, right in the middle of the kicking, scratching and biting. Rarity had her back to Twilight, fending off potential attackers. Pinkie laughed hysterically as she shot multiple ponies in the face with her party cannon. Fluttershy ducked behind Twilight, shaking. Blood hit she ground next to her, and she shrieked. She jumped up into the air and tried to fly away, only to have her hoof be bitten and her body dragged into the fight. Pinkie was knocked off her party cannon and hit down. Rarity was pulled away from Twilight into the swarm of jumbled limbs and blood, only to be thrown at her hooves moments later. Applejack was bleeding steadily from her shoulder wound as she was punched into the ground. Dozens of ponies jumped on top of her, forming a pile. Rainbow Dash was hit in the face while shooting between ponies, causing a crack in her muzzle, right before she hit the edge of the hill. Even more ponies swarmed her. Twilight looked on with somber eyes, in the center of the battle. Not a single pony touched her, as the she was the only one not putting up a fight. "Hey, purple sparkle, you're the worst, most disgu--horrend--I don't even have words for the likes of scum like you!" shouted the original white stallion. "What's wrong, shiny eyes, can't handle a little fight?!" Twilight eyes teared up. She blinked the tears away. The stallion charged, hollering a deafening cry. Twilight saw him coming out of the corner of her eye. Her horn lit up as she slowed time. It glowed even brighter as the grassy valley was enveloped in translucent purple light. The fight was reduced to silence in Twilight's ears. "Enough," she muttered. She bucked the stallion hard in the chest with her hind legs, feeling sorry as she felt the ribs break. She quickly rounded on him and punched him under the jaw, teeth flying up out of his mouth in slow motion. He rocketed backwards, parting the crowd as Twilight resumed the normal flow of time. No one noticed. No one but Twilight and the unconscious body of the stallion. "Stop!" cried Twilight, using magic to amplify her voice. "This is wrong!" The valley went silent. "Yeah?" a voice spoke up. "Give yourself over! Then we'll really stop." Twilight's horn began glowing. "We don't need your evil polluting otherwise perfect Equestria!" The horn began giving off sparks, burning those unfortunate enough to be hit by it. "With your power, you could make us all alicorns!" "No," Twilight said quietly. "You're ridiculous! Why would anypony respect you, anyw--" All the ponies in the valley were temporarily blinded as a bright light erupted from Twilight's horn. it faded away, leaving a huge, roaring BOOM. Shock waves were sent in every direction, travelling overland for a few seconds before hitting the force field she had set up earlier. The force field faded away. All of the protesting ponies were scattered around the edge of the valley, knocked out. The Mane 6 stood in the middle, unaffected by the spell. "How--why weren't we blown hundreds of feet back like them?" Rainbow asked in disbelief. "I exempted you from the spell," Twilight replied curtly. "Now, let's get everyone into the house and get out of here." Rainbow Dash glanced up at her cloud home before nodding. Applejack was bent over something, trying to pick something up. "Come help me, please," she said. The other ponies trotted over only to see Applejack trying to get a battered Fluttershy off the ground. "Dear Celestia," Rarity gasped, "what have they done to her?" It seemed Fluttershy had gotten the worst of the fight. She was unconscious, soaked in blood, not to mention with a few broken bones. One of these was her left wing. "We need to get her into the hospital," Pinkie said sadly, drooping her head in a very un-Pinkie-like way. Rainbow Dash flew everyone up to the house, then pushed it away, back to Ponyville.
