The Dawn Of Equestria

3:58 Hyperion bridge - Shipboard Time

Zerg Mutalisks swarmed around the Hyperion firing glaive wurm all about the hull of the ship the

scene was chaotic but this was nothing new to her captain Matt Horner.

“Just another day at the office.” he thought. Alarms started to go off as a crewman yelled out to the captain

“Shield integrity at 30%!” Ignoring the crewman's warning Matt turned to faced the giant window in front of him looking out on the battle that was presented to him. “Intensify forward firepower!” Matt commanded and without hesitation all batteries were aimed toward the front of the ship. More Mutalisks fell from the sky as a path was cleared in front of the Hyperion. Matt looked down at his wristwatch and in the process issuing another command “Prepare to jump on my mark.”

yelled Matt. He waited for the clock to read exactly 4:00 agonizing seconds went by as the

minute hand finally read his chosen time “MARK.”

4:01 Hyperion bridge - Shipboard Time

There was great acceleration followed by golden light that the filled the bridge of the Hyperion.

This effect lasted several seconds before the great ship came to a crashing halt throwing

everyone and everything violently about.

“Ugh what happened last night?” moaned Matt as he rose to his feet rubbing his head after hitting one of the consoles with some force. Coming to terms that he was still on the bridge and not in his bed he saw the crew had not fared any better than he did.

“Is very one alright?” he asked. His question was responded with subsequent “Ayes,” and “Yes Sirs.” No sooner did the crew finish this task that the doors to the bridge opened and in came Jim Raynor who was accompanied by lifelong friend Tychus Findlay who had a cigar firmly between his lips .

“What kind of a jump do you call that!?” demanded the convict. Matt disregard the outburst hoping that a question would come Jim who finally spoke“ Matt what happened up here and where are we?” The captain replied in his usual calm manner of speaking

“I have no idea where we are sir the last thing I remember was a great rush of acceleration followed by a golden light. When I woke up I asked the crew how they felt after that you and that convict showed up”.

“Shit!” blurted out Tychus upon realizing that he had no idea where he was and his trigger finger was getting itchy now he’ll have to stay on board without killing the first thing that came in his sights. Sensing that his friend was wanting to be set loose Jim reassured him

“Now Tychus there will be plenty of opportunity to kill all the Zerg you want we just need to figure out where we are first”. This answer satisfied him. With that Jim walked over to the the console and pulled up the shipboard AI.

“Do a scan of the area tell us where we are.” said Jim. A few seconds went by and the AI spoke “unknown location.”

“WHAT?” hollered the three men. They were surprised by this as the ship had all the records of all the plants in terran space “What is our location.” Jim asked in frustration. The AI spoke again

“LOCATION UNKNOWN”.

“GOD DAMMIT!” yells Tychus who is followed by Matt with a subsequent sigh. There was a long silence afterward Jim spoke first “Well boys looks like we get to have ourselves a little scouting party.” Hearing this was like music to Tychus’s ears and sent him to over joyment

“About damn time we got off this ship I’ve waited years to kill me some Zerg.” He said with a long puff of his cigar.

“Matt can you find us a suitable place to put the Hyperion down?” Jim asked

“Yes sir I can.” replied the captain. Matt walked over to the star map and pulled up a 3D render of the forest below. He waved his hands as the 3 dimensional trees flew past on the table until a location that pleased him was found. “Here sir a big clearing 2 clicks northwest of here.” Matt said with excitement

“Good man put her down there. Tychus come down to the armory and we can get saddled up.” said Jim

4:30 Hyperion armory - Shipboard Time

The Hyperion lurched forward to the open area that Matt had found earlier and was in the

process of landing when Tychus took notice of the all weaponry causing a grin to appear on his

face.

“Damn Jimmy you got your self enough hardware to blow Arcturus Mengsk out of water.”

stated Tychus.

“I wish that were true our little band of miscrits gets the job done but is not enough

topple that heartless bastard,”Jim replied a bit angry. Hearing this caused the the grin to

disappear.

“I am sorry Jimmy. If this about Kerrigan I’m with you every step of the way” Tychus

said with all the compassion he had.

“Thank you Tychus you were always a good friend.”

What Tychus asked next took him by surprise

“Hey Jimmy you think we could take one of those

siege tanks with us?” He asked peering up to Jim with his best puppy dog eyes and a puff of the

cigar

“You know in case we encounter any opportunities to stick it to Mengsk,” giving in to the

ugliest pair of puppy dog eyes he’d seen Jim said

“Sure Tychus we can take a tank.” Upon saying this the grin returned to his face and Jim summoned one of the drivers over. The driver respond by saying

“Need Some thing Blown up!”

“Is your tank ready?” asked Jim.

“She is fueled up and ready to go.” stated the driver. Jim yelled over to Rory Swann the

Hyperion’s chief Engineer to open the bay doors.

“Sure thing boss,” he replied.

Jim, Tychus, a small detachment of marines and a medic all climbed on the tank, it was

cramped yet they all seem to fit. The bay doors opened and they saw the strange new world that

awaited them.

4:01 Fluttershy's Cottage - Equestrian Time

There was a loud audible boom that shook Fluttershy’s cottage and half scared the yellow

pegasus to death.

“Oh my!” she cried, “Rainbow must stop performing these sonic rainbooms

they really are destructive.” She trotted over to the window hoping to see a majestic rainbow

arching over the sky instead she saw a gigantic floating monstrosity hoving in the sky. She

meeped with terror as she came to think what this new creature could be

“Maybe it is a

new type of dragon?’ she thought. Curiosity to know what this new creature was starting to

overcome her. She ran up to her room and grabbed the book Equestrian Animals A to Z. After

skimming the pages for several minutes she conceited to defeat not finding any information or

even a picture regarding to the in object sky. The pegasus wandered outside wanting another

look at this new creature she had discovered she opened the door and saw the monstrosity

again but this time it had turned around headed in the of the direction of the Everfree Forest.

“Poor thing must be lost. Maybe the others would like to help care for it and help it find it’s

home,” Fluttershy thought. She ran back inside her cottage and drew a quick sketch of the

creature on one blank pages in the back of the book.

“Maybe Twilight will have some information that could help.” she thought as found her saddlebags and began filling the bag with the necessities needed for the trip including the book that held her sketch. She step out side once again looking up for the object noticing that it had gone she trotted down the path that lead down and away from her cottage on to path that took her to Ponyville.

4:20 Twilight’s Library - Equestrian Time

A knocking that came from door took Twilight out of her studies and rerouted her attention to the noise coming from the front of the library.

“Rainbow do you think you could get that for me?”she asked. The blue mare was sitting in one chairs at the far end of the room reading the newest installment of her favorite adventurer Daring Do.

“Nah,” she replied “Reading Daring Do

and The Heart of The Swarm”.

“Ruuugh,” relieved Twilight in frustration, “Fine I will do it myself.”

She rose from her desk and walked over to the door and opened it.

“Oh, hello Twilight. Can I come in, if you don’t mind?” Fluttershy said in her usual shyness. “Of course you can.” said Twilight as she moved to one side

“Sup Flutters,” said Rainbow Dash upon seeing her friend enter the room

“Hello Rainbow it is nice to see you” replied Fluttershy. She dropped her bag and pulled out the book in which she had drawn the creature in. Both mares sat down as Fluttershy began to describe what had happened at her cottage and the object she saw in the sky. Hearing the conversation Rainbow Dash looked down from her book and started to listen in on their talk.

Fluttershy showed them the sketch she had drawn, seeing this image fascinated both other

mares. Twilight was first to respond to the image presented to her,

“I’ve never seen anything like that in Equestria before. Yet I may just have a book that will tell us” she stated. Fluttershy perked up knowing that she may get some answers as to what this thing was. Twilight trotted over to a section of the library and retrieved an old looking book from the middle shelf entitled Rare and Ancient Animals Of Equestria. Twilight brought the book over and Fluttershy and herself looked about its pages for what seemed an eternity with Rainbow Dash now hovering over them taking on interest herself to know what the strange object was. Twilight and Fluttershy fell back onto the floor with sighs of frustration on not finding any description of the creature. The only thing they had was a crude sketch and a vague description from Fluttershy.

“Well u-um what do we do now” asked the yellow pegasus. “I know lets go find it” said Rainbow Dash hoping this would lead to one of Daring Do’s adventures with her playing the role as the fearless mare and with Twilight and Fluttershy as her assistants.

“I suppose we could try to locate the creature” said

Twilight. They both looked over to Fluttershy who shied away saying

“D-do we have to” she said with some fear in her voice .

“Well duh! Twilight said we are going.” Rainbow dash shouted toward Fluttershy,

“O-ok,” she replied.The girls got their things together as they prepared to set off in search of the creature. Fluttershy was ready in a few moments having all things she needed already packed. Twilight packed a small tent and a book about camping along with a field book so should they really find the creature she could study and take notes on it in detail. The three mares started to leave but Twilight had one last question before they left, “Fluttershy where was the last place you saw this creature of yours” she asked. Fluttershy turned toward Twilight and responded

“It was near my cottage on the edge of the Everfree Forest” she said.

“Now we know where to start,”said Rainbow Dash and with that the three friends set off on their newly found journey.

4:40 Location Unknown - Surface Time

The siege tank rolled down the ramp and drove away from the Hyperion into the forest in front of

it with everyone seated on top. The tank entered the forest and easily crushed any foliage that

stood in its path.

“Do you think we will find any Dominion or Zerg forces here?” asked Tychus as

he looked at the scenery that past by.

“I don’t know but is best to keep your eyes focused and your guns sharp in case we do,” said Jim. The tank rolled on for some time as the driver played his favorite song. The marines made small talk as they pushed forward on through forest with time the trees started to clear as they become bushes and small shrubs that opened up to a wide dirt road. The driver brought the tank to a halt and everyone hoped off as the hatch on top was opened and the driver popped out. “Well lookie here we got ourselves a road,” said Tychus

“Yeah but which way do we go?” asked the driver. The men squabble over the diction they should take for some time when a loud rustling came from both sides of road this stopped all

conversation as the diver went back down into the tank closing the hatch behind him.

All of men pointed their arms toward the direction in which they heard the rustling as a wolf like

creature emerged from the thick bushes snarling and growling.

“What the hell is that thing!?”said one the marines looking at the creature with the utmost curiosity and slight fearfulness.

“It looks a wolf thats made out of wood!” said another. Four more of these wolves came from the thicket and surrounded the group circling and snarling as they did

“Careful boys shoot them if they try anything” cautioned Jim. “Hope you brought some body bags,” joked the medic as she saw one of the wolves begin to lunge toward Jim. The wolf made its move nearly pouncing on him only to receive a boot to the face in mid lunge from the butt of Jim’s gun sending the creature back a few feet.

“Open fire” yelled Jim as all the guns around him blazed with semi automatic fire. Their

weapons quickly made short work of the wolves shattering their wooden bodies while spraying

sticks and twigs about the road.

“Ha ha! Finally got to kill me something,” said Tychus in excitement followed by a puff from his cigar.

“ Well Tychus looks like you get to put that trigger

finger of yours back to work,” said Jim in horror as he saw the mass of sticks and twigs rise

from the ground and began to form an even larger version of the wooden wolf some meters

away.

“ Hell yeah some thing that gets back up just so I can kill it again,” said Tychus now

overjoyed by the sight. Jim ran up the top of the siege tank and banged on the hatch until it

opened.

“We are going to need some extra fire power,” said Jim pointing to the now assembled

wolf.

“Right, step back” said the driver as he closed the hatch and Jim ran off. At the push of a

button the tank transformed into its siege form with the large wolf now barreling toward them

the driver took careful aim knowing that this maybe the only shot he got. A loud bang filled the

area around tank as the enormous gun let loose its round it was followed by a massive explosion

as the round hit its mark.The high explosive armor piercing round exploded hitting the center of

mass of the creature shattering its body while sending a mass sticks and twigs around the area.

The great wolf fell to earth in a heap of splinted and burning wood never to rise again.

“KABOOM!” shouts Tychus seeing the wonderful sight of the explosion and the fall of the wooden wolf. His voice is followed by the cheer of the maries.

“ Well I’ll be damned that actually worked”said Jim.

“No shit it worked,” said Tychus still overjoyed by the what he just saw.The tank transformed back and the group gathered back on as they set off down the westerly way of

the road. A few hours passed and it was starting to get late Jim decided that this would be a good time to set up camp.

“Driver stop here I think that it is about time we set up camp.” said Jim as he saw a nice spot on the edge of a meadow that opened up in front of them as the road continued though it.

“About time we stopped I need some shut eye from today’s activities.” said Tychus. The squad was quick to set up camp and start eating their rations while Jim had a word with the tank driver

What is the status of the tank?” asked Jim.

“She is doing very well as of now, it was nice that she saw some action today but she is getting hungry and will not be able to go much further if you want I could to return to the Hyperion and refuel,” said the driver. Deciding that it would be best to send the tank back instead of it possibly succumbing to being a target later Jim said

“I think that you should take her back I would not like to be a sitting duck while we wait for help just because we ran out of fuel” Seeing the point his leader had the driver responded

“Very well I’ll head back tomorrow”. With that he clawed back down and went to the small bed he had outfitted inside. Seeing that it was time he went to bed as well Jim went inside his tent and climbed inside a sleeping bag. He thought about this new world he was on and about those strange creatures that attacked them. But most important he thought about Kerrigan. He thought about whether or not he would see her again for a part of did and another did not. He pushed those thoughts out his head and fell asleep.

5:10 Edge of the Everfree Forest- Equestrian Time

The trio of ponies came up the top edge of the Everfree as Fluttershy pointed out the location

that she saw the creature and that path that it took in to the forest.

“Looks like it was headed in a easterly direction away from Ponyville.” said twilight hearing the details that Fluttershy had given her.

“Then what are we standing around here for lets go find it.” said an eager Rainbow dash

who was starting in the direction Twilight had given her.

“Very Well.” said Twilight as other two mares followed the blue mare in the forest. The three friends trotted for a long period of time as they did they talked about the happenings in Ponyville along with what each other did since that last time they saw each other. As time dragged on Rainbow become grotesquely bored and finally snapped,

“Ugh we should have found it by now!“ she shouted. Twilight and fluttershy

looked up at her with the same feelings for they have been in the forest for some time now.

“I’m sure that we will find it soon it couldn’t have gone far,” said an optimistic Twilight.

“All we need is a little patience,” added Fluttershy. No sooner did she finish saying this they heard what they believed to small fireworks that were followed by a large BOOM.

“Sounds like some pony is playing with some heavy ordinance I think we should go check it out,” said Rainbow. Having the concern of the animals on her mind and wanting to make sure none them were hurt Fluttershy respond

“Okay I just want to make sure none of the animals are hurt by the fireworks.” Twilight a

bit curious to know why some pony would play with fireworks in middle of a forest said

“It is settled we will go toward the sound of the fireworks come girls.” The trio started off again and only after a few hours of walking did they come across a large devastated stretch of the forest. The trees were toppled and bushes become nothing more than a mass broken limbs and sticks. The area was flattened like a tank had rolled over it.

“Oh my goodness,” cried Fluttershy seeing the devastation that lay before her.

“What kind of creature could do this?” she asked. Rainbow

looked on as she said“ It could have been the creature that Fluttershy saw,” Rainbow said.

Twilight who was also puzzled by the sight replied to Rainbow

“I think Rainbow may be right because I have not heard or studied anything that could cause this much destruction this fast,”said Twilight. “Then we should follow it it could lead us right to the beast itself.” said Rainbow. Twilight looked over to Fluttershy who seemed to saddened by the laying waste of the forest Taking Fluttershy by the hoof Twilight comforted her friend

“Don’t worry we will find out what did this soon,” said Twilight as they started to follow the makeshift path of fallen trees and squashed bushes.The mare continued down the their makeshift path for some time as walked they gazed at the destroyed plants. The mares thought about what the creature could as they did the came to wide dirt road and saw a burning and splintered mass of wood laying at the side of the road.

“Looks like we know what happened to the the fireworks pony.” said Twilight

“Well u-um that still does not explain the destruction of the forest.” said Fluttershy. Rainbow now being able to to fly looked around for any short of clues that would help them help them find Fluttershy’s creature. She went about this for several minutes when she looked down at the road that lay before her and took notice of a set of strange marks in the dirt.

“Hey guys I found something!”

shouted RainbowDash. Her companions rushed over to see what the blue mare had found.

Seeing the strange the tracks that her friend found.

“Those are the oddest pairs of wagon tracks I have ever seen,” said Fluttershy. Twilight took on a closer inspection at the marks.

“Um Fluttershy I don't think these are wagon tracks they are too far apart and whatever it is, its heading in the direction of Ponyville.”

Then is must be the creature that Fluttershy saw,”said Rainbow Dash.

Twilight looked around the scene for anything more that could help identify and deduce what left

the strange marks in the middle of the road but finding nothing more than the burning pile of

wood and the tracks left she concluded “

That is mostly the case Rainbow I can’t find anything more here to tell us otherwise but I suspect that we are close to finding the thing that left these tracks.”

“If it is heading towards Ponyville then we have to stop it,”cried Rainbow. The trio decided

that it would be best to the find the creature and stop it before it could cause any more harm.

They set off down the road following the tracks for what seemed like hours as the sun started to

set behind the trees. “Hey girls u-um if don’t mind mind it is getting late maybe should stop for the

night and continue the search in the morning,” said Fluttershy. Twillight was getting tired as well

and found this a good time to stop.

“Capital idea,” said Twilight as she found a good place to set

up camp and with the help of the camping book she brought managed to set up the tent she

brought.

“Yeah I’m feeling a bit tired,” said Rainbow as she zoomed into one of the spare sleeping

bags that Twilight had brought. She was followed in by Fluttershy then Twilight. Before falling

asleep however the three told stories and did some activities out of the camping book as one by one they

fell asleep looking forward to their first glimpses of the strange creature that awaited them tomorrow morning.

8:27 Everfree Forest The Next Morning - Equestrian Time

Fluttershy awoke next morning to the smell of the crisp fresh forest air. She had a very nice night despite a rumbling noise that disturbed her. She thought about the noise for a bit but merely dismissed it as one or several of the forest animals. She rolled over to see that Rainbow and Twilight were already awake and getting things ready for the day’s trip.

“Good morning Fluttershy how was your night?” asked Twilight.

Still a bit sleepy, it took Fluttershy a moment to respond,

“Oh I had a very nice night Twilight thank you for asking,” she said. Seeing that Fluttershy was

now awake and wanting to get a jump on the day Rainbow said “Well hurry and get up we don’t want to lose the creature,” said Rainbow Dash. “Well you see I was hoping that I could get a head start seeing that I’m a bit slow,” she said as the she got her belongs together.

“I don’t see any harm in it,” said Twilight knowing that Fluttershy could handle herself if she ran into any of the creatures out in the forest. The mares had breakfast and broke down camp as Fluttershy started out on her own. The yellow mare started off down the path following the tracks that were left yesterday while observing the birds and other animals in the forest as she went her mind flooded with ideas about the creature she and her friends were pursuing, these ideas ravished her mind for some time. It was becoming late morning when the mare came across an open meadow with the road running through it.

“Well this looks like a nice place to stop for a little rest and I sure that Rainbow and Twilight are close behind,” she thought.

She started to lay down when saw a massive blue object with what she believed to be a cigar hanging from its mouth staring back at her from the opposite end of the meadow . Her ears perked up with fascination and curiosity as something told her to go get a closer look and possibly make conversation with it and thats exactly what she did.

9:10 Unknown location - Surface Time

“Hey Jimmy you won’t believe what I just saw!” said Tychus pointing to the yellow horse in the middle of the meadow. Jim had now finished what was left of his breakfast when he head Tychus call him over he ran over to where his friend was standing and saw the yellow horse that Tychus was pointing at.

“What the hell is that thing and what is that mark on its flank is it some kind of tattoo ” said Jim now taking notice of the horse be for him.

“AH hell if I know what that mark is but it looks may be one of dem pegasus” said Tychus who

now saw wings one the side of creature. Both men looked away as Jim said

“You know Tychus the more we stay in this land the more I feel like I’m heading in to a story books for five year old girls.”said Jim in a joking manner and getting a laugh out of

Tychus who responded by saying

“ Ha ha ha Yeah I got that feeling too old pal but I feel like some things watch'n me it must be that Tosh fellow you picked up that guy is always given me creeps him and those damn dolls of his,” said Tychus who was looking around for anything ordinary that might relieve his suspicions but he found nothing and continued to pack up camp. However Tychus’s suspicions were in fact correct as there was something watching him. Fluttershy had flown up to a tree when the strange creatures looked away from her and had positioned herself just above the two strange creatures as she heard them talk to her surprise they spoke the same language her. The beings finished whatever it was they were talking and started to walk off as Fluttershy wanting a better look started to back up on the limb she was when she loses her balance and slips on the branch supporting her causing a loud emanate from the tree. Hearing this caused Tychus to spin around and take hold of his rifle while taking his mark on the tree and pullIng the trigger BANG.

It was follow by a scream of bloody murder as everyone in the camp look on only to see the the yellow mare fall from the tree and into a bush below.

“My God Tychus what have you done!?”said Jim horrified.

”Sorry Jim I thought that it was another one of those crazy wolfs.” said Tychus

who was now very remorseful at what he had done. Jim was now running over to the site where he saw the yellow pegasus fall and just after a few seconds of searching did he find the pegasus. It was clearly in shock as it was shaking and screaming

“PLEASE DON’T HURT ME!” PLEASE DON’T HURT ME!” it screamed. Jim did his best to comfort the yellow mare as he saw blood gush and stream from the wound and drip onto the ground below it.

“Now, Now you poor thing i’m not going to hurt you I'm here to help you” said Jim as he carefully pick up the yellow mare with the blood now running down his hands.

“MEDIC!” Jim yells. Hearing her queue the medic ran over to Jim as he come from the bushes. “Need some triage” she says as Jim presented her with the wounded mare.

“Ow, looks serious,”she said as she began her work first getting the bleeding under control. Next she cleaned and wrapped the wound many times with gauss and medical tape she did her best to make it look nice. Then lastly she gave the mare a syringe full of morphine that caused the pony to fall asleep almost immediately in Jim’s arms. Breathing a sigh of relief Jim said

“Thanks doc you’re a real lifesaver and I want you to look after this pegasus until we find out what we can do with it.“

“No problem it is all in the oath” she said as Jim handed her the sleeping mare.

“What more could go wrong to-” he was cut mid sentence by a blue flash that flew past him and hit Tychus square in the chest knocking the wind out of him and stumbled him back a few feet he looked around frantically for whatever it was that attacked him. It took him only seconds to find it another pegasus but this time it was blue and had a multi colored main but he did not care he was going to shoot it dead right there on the spot. Tychus rose his gun and took aim at the blue mare in the sky he was just about to pull the trigger when Jim ripped the gun from his hands and threw it on the ground.

“Damn it Tychus we do not need another tragedy today isn’t that right marines.”Jim said looking over to the small group who all dropped their weapons. Tychus was about to say something when he was interrupted by the blue pegasus “

I’ll teach you to hurt my friends!” it said.

“Ah hell now they're talking too. Is nothing right in this world.” said Tychus. Having gotten himself out of tighter places then this Jim was quick to respond.

“Now look here we all saw your friend FALL from that tree and she busted up her leg we only wanted to help.” Jim said covering the truth that Tychus had really shot her but it seemed liked the pegasus did not know that and Jim wanted to keep it like that. He listened for what the blue mare would say next.

“Then what was the thing you stuck in her leg!” it replied

Jim responded “It was for the pain and believe me we only wanted to help.” Before the blue pegasus could further question Jim more rustling came from the bushes as a purple unicorn came onto the scene.

“Now I’ve seen everything.” said Tychus still not sure what to make of all the ponies that surrounded him. All eyes were on the purple unicorn as it spoke

“ Now Rainbow I’m sure if these beings wanted to harm Fluttershy they would have done it already but it looks like they have taken good care of her.” The mare looked over to see Fluttershy being held in the medic’s arm as she stroked the pegasus’s main.

Twilight continued “ We don’t even know where these creatures come from, the least we could is introduce ourselves. My name is Twilight Sparkle the blue pegasus is Rainbow dash and other pegasus you saved is Fluttershy.” she finished. Jim was resisting the urge to comment on how awkward the names were but he not want to scare away their only chance a help yet he did manage to say something.

“Well it is a pleasure to meet you Miss Sparkle . My name is Jim Raynor my friend over there thats Tychus Findlay and those are my Raiders and we have no idea how we got here or where we are and we are trying to find to find a way back to our world.” said Jim seeing that the ponies were his only hope he had of making it back to his reality. Twilight thought about what Jim had said and came up with an idea

“I know somepony who may be able to help you if you would follow me back to my library I’m certain we can work something out .” said Twilight.

“That would be nice if you allowed Tychus and I to stay with you for a bit.” replied Jim.

“Wonderful we can leave as soon as you’re ready Mr.Raynor.” said Twilight as she pulled out her field book and started to take notes and draw picture of the newly found creatures in front her it kept her occupied until Jim had finished talking with the group of maries. Jim then walked over to the medic with Fluttershy still sleeping in her arms “I’m going to take Fluttershy back to Twilight’s library with me and Tychus, I want you give Matt a full report on what happened over the past day when you get back the Hyperion .

I’m sure he will love it.” said Jim. Saddened that she had to give up the the cutest thing she had ever seen she replied

“Understood Sir.” She relinquished the yellow mare over Jim’s arms and to his surprise the mare was very light. The marines departed along with the medic while Jim and Tychus walked over to Twilight.

“We are ready to go.” said Jim. Twilight put away her things and and looked up a Jim

“Then we shall depart, come on Rainbow.” called Twilight as the group stared down the road and made their way out of the Everfree Forest. Evening was starting to set in as the group came up to Ponyville. Much to to relief of Twilight there were hardly any ponies walking the streets as they walked up to Twilight's library. Rainbow made her farewells as she headed for home and Twilight welcomed her guests

“Here we are, Jim you and your friend and welcome to make yourselves at home and there should be some spare mattresses down in the basement that you and Tychus can sleep on.” Twilight said as the group made their way inside.

”Ah home sweet home.” said Tychus as he found his way around the library and eventually down to to the basement where the beds were located. Jim still held Fluttershy in his arms and seeing that he was now in a place to put her down he asked

“Is there a place where I can put Fluttershy down?”

“Why yes there is, up stars there is a bed that is just her size.” said Twilight. Jim walked up stairs and found the small bed and gently placed her it and covered her up with the sheets. He wished her good night and came back down stairs as he did he spoke to Twilight one last time that evening.

”I suppose I should follow Tychus down to basement. I'm very tired from todays adventures but I hope we can get to know each other better Miss Sparkle and perhaps meet the person you said that could help us tomorrow morning. Good Night Miss Sparkle” said Jim as began to walk down to the basement and join his friend in basement. To his surprise it was very clean with large space in the middle of the room that was big enough for both beds that Tychus had already found and set up. The beds themselves are fairly old with plain tan sheets and blankets set up on old cots.

“Wellpartner these old things are not the best nor the worst things we’ve slept in but anything is better than sleeping on the ground.” said Tychus who was now drifting to sleep. Jim unsuited and got ready for bed as he pulled the sheets over him and went to sleep knowing that tomorrow he would get some answers as to where he was. Hearing the commotion that came from the main room Spike emerged from the kitchen only to see the top of Raynor’s head disappear down into the basement.

“Twilight what is going on here?” he asked only to be shot down by Twilight.

“That is not important now Spike but I need you to do is take a letter to Princess Celestia it is of the utmost importance.” she said.

“Yes ma’am.” Spike responded as he fetched a quill and a scroll as Twilight started

“ Dear Princess Celestia today Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and myself discovered a group of strange creatures wandering the Everfree Forest. I know not where they come from or what they are however they do appear to be somewhat friendly as I saw they had cared for Fluttershy when she fell out of a tree and broke her leg. I was also able to make contact with one of the creatures who said his name was Jim Raynor and he was accompanied by his friend Tychus Findlay. Jim and also said that he needs help to get back to his own world whether a spell exists for that exists is beyond me but perhaps you could help him. I hope to hear that you have answers to my questions as well as Jim’s and I look forward to your reply.

“Is that it.” said Spike as he looked over to Twilight.

“Yes Spike that all of it now send it.” said Twilight as the letter vanished in a puff of green fire and smoke. They both waited for the reply which came in no time at all as Spike burped it up in another geen puff of smoke. Twilight picked up the letter and read it.

Unfortunately I have very limited knowledge regarding these creatures you have found. I too do not know where these creatures reside so I will have to make a trip down to Ponyville to find out if these creatures really are friendly and whether or not we can help them. Please have them ready by time I arrive late morning tomorrow morning. I look forward to meeting Mr. Raynor and Mr. Findlay.

Princess Celestia

“Well Spike looks like we are getting a visit from the princess but we best be getting to bed. We have a long day ahead of us.” said Twilight as she went up the stairs and got ready for bed. Spike followed suite and soon they were both fast asleep. Twilight looked forward to seeing the Princess and to finally get some answers as to what the things sleeping in her basement where and what they were doing in Equestria.

The Men And The Mare

Twilight’s Library 10:30 - Equestrian Time

A loud knocking came from the door that led into the basement. It was followed by the sound of Twilight's voice.

“ Mr Findlay, Mr. Raynor it is time to wake up. The Princess will be here soon and come up stairs I have breakfast for you.” said Twilight. Hearing the commotion finally got Tychus up who was in grumpy mood to start with.

“That purple horse just doesn’t know when to give me mah beauty sleep!” said Tychus as he slowly got up and rose from the bed. Jim was already awake and dressed in his usual outfit. He was eager to meet this Princess that Twilight had mentioned and finally get some clues as to why he was brought here and if he could return to his own reality.

“Come on Tychus lets head up stairs and meet this Princess of hers and find out what we’re doing here.”said Jim who was now heading towards the door and up into main room of the library he was followed by Tychus who only came along at the promise of food.

“Good morning Miss Sparkle, I suspect your Princess will be here soon” said Jim as he saw her pace in front of the door.

Twilight responded “Oh yes she will be here very soon. In the meantime Mr Raynor you and your friend can help yourself to small breakfast that I made for you. I’m not sure what you eat but I took a guess. I hope you like it.”

Jim and Tychus walked in the kitchen and saw the small banquet that sat in front of them. It consisted of scrambled eggs, bagels and a few muffins.

“Well this is not much but I suppose it will do for now.” said Jim as he sat down and helped himself to the assortment of items. He put together a small plate and left the rest for Tychus.

“About time I got me some grub as well” said Tychus as he too sat down and ate was left of the small breakfast that Twilight had made for them. The men finished what was left of the meal when a knocking came from the front door of the library.

“ Mr Raynor, Mr. Findlay the Princess is here come out here introduce yourselves.”

yelled Twilight as she opened the door and the Princess walked in .The men did as they were told and rose from the table and emerged from the kitchen and entered the main room of the library what they saw starstruck them. They saw a big white alcorn with wings and a horn topped with a tiara and large flowing main that consisted of greens, blues and violets and a picture of a sun on her flank.

Tychus whispered over to Jim “What the hell is that...THING!” said Tychus.

Jim leaned back over and responded “Hell if I know but lets not piss it off.” said Jim

Princess Celestia took notice of the strange creatures that stood before her and started to talk to them in her royally calm and soothing voice.

“ Hello Mr Raynor, Mr. Findlay my name is Princess Celestia and I’m the ruler of this land. You have already meet my faithful student Twilight and a few of her friends. They have told me some things about you but I would like to get to know you more. So I propose a game of questions an answer for an answer. Does this sound reasonable to you Mr. Raynor?” said Princess Celestia as she finished turned her head to look at Jim, hoping that he would respond to her. Tychus seeing what the white horse wanted leaned over to Jim and said.

“ I think it’s talking to you partener.” said Tychus as Jim stepped forward to address the Alicorn that stood in front of him.

“ It is a pleasure to meet you ma'am and that proposal does sound very fair. Tychus and I would be happy to answer any questions that you may have just as long as you do the same.” said Jim with a light tone as he looked on ward at the almost god like creature that he had just spoke to.

“Well first I would like to know how you came here and where you are from?” said Princess Celestia. Jim was quick to answer this simple question, as he desperately wanted to move on to his turn in this little game he had with the Princess.

Jim began “ Well Princess we are from place called Korhal in the Koprulu Sector and as far as how we got here it’s a mystery. All we know is our ship brought us here and we have no idea how to get back.” said Jim

“Your..ship?” asked a puzzled Twilight who look up to Jim for an answer.

“ The Hyperion. It is the interstellar starship we use to get around. When we came out of slipspace we were above a forest with small house benth us.” said Jim.

After hearing this Twilight galloped upstairs and retrieved the book that Fluttershy had drawn in. She came back downstairs and showed the Jim the drawing.

“Is this the Hyperion?” Twilight asked. Jim studied the sketch for a few seconds before he made out what is was.

“Yes that's her alright. I can show her to you later if you would like.” said Jim as he looked down at purple mare who looked back with the fascinated eyes.

“ Now I believe that I’m now owed an answer to a question.” said Jim who was growing impatient.

“As you are Mr. Raynor ask away.” replied The Princess

“ Where are we and how do we get get back to our own reality?” asked Jim with his hopes held high that there just may be a way back. Plus, he really didn’t want to stay in a land filled with talking equine.

The Princess thought about this question for a time, not about the name of the place Jim was, but how she could help him get back to this “Korhal”. It took her a few more moments to respond to this question.

“ I do believe that there is way back to your “Korhal” but that is either lost or ancient magic, so I’m afraid you will have to stay here for some time until my sister and I can work out a way to help you. As to where you are this land is Equestria it is a magical place with wondrous creatures and places. You and your associates are free to travel freely just as long as you stay out of trouble”. said Princess. Jim was just about to say something more when a scroll appeared in the middle the of the room, it was surrounded by a dark blue hue. The hue faded and the scroll plopped on the ground. Celestia levitated the letter over and read it.

My Sister,

There is a matter of some urgency regarding an unidentifiable creature of unknown origin and intent. The guard said it was found on the outskirts of Appaloosa by some passing travelers. Please return to the castle when you can.

Luna

Not wanting to cause need for alarm Celestia remained calm and said.

“ Mr Raynor, Mr Findlay and Twilight Luna has brought a matter of importance to my attention and I need to return to the castle. Twilight I’m placing Jim and Tychus in your care should they cause any trouble report it to me, and do show them around and introduce them to the rest of your friends. As for our guests they are free to travel where they please. Mr Raynor Mr. Findlay, it has been nice to meet you and I hope we can talk in the future.” said Princess Celestia as she made her way to the to the door and exited. The goddess climbed back in her carriage and was flown back to Canterlot.

“Well so much for getting answers!” said Tychus, still feeling a bit in the dark about this new place he would have to live in, yet Twilight was there to reassure him.

“Not to worry Mr. Findlay I’m sure that you will have another chance to talk with the Princess. But I would be happy to answer any more question that you may have.” said Twilight

The group was just about to sit down, when a loud static came over Jim’s commutator. From it came Matt’s voice.

“ Commander this is the Hyperion. Are you receiving us?” Matt said as his voice came through with a bit of static.

“Reading you loud and clear Matt, what do you have for me?” said Jim who was delighted to hear from Matt.

“I got your report and I must say this world does seem a bit out of the ordinary. Then again we are no strangers to the odd, sir.” said Matt. Jim was wondering if this would be a good time to let Matt in on what was happening since the last time they saw each other. He gave some thought to this for some time before coming to a conclusion.

“Matt I need you surface side ASAP I have got some one I think you should meet and besides, when was the last time you had a shore leave?” said Jim trying to persuade his friend to come and see the new world that was inhabited by talking equine.

Matt was quick to respond to Jim’s question “ It has been some time since my last shore leave, and seeing that we may be here for some time but I suppose it would not hurt to look around. I can have a Medevac over there in a few minutes.” said Matt

“Got it Matt, sending you cooradients. See you in a few minutes.” said Jim as he put away the device and sat down in a chair that just barely fit him. Twilight was seated directly across from him with Tychus on his left.

“So, Twilight is there anything you can tell us about Equestria, like its history perhaps?”Asked Jim, hoping that he could learn something more about this land.

“I would be happy to!” said Twilight with excitement. Jim and Tychus got ready for the History lesson as Twilight started.

Twilight’s Library 11:00 - Equestrian Time

Twilight was now finishing up how Nightmare Moon had returned and how her friends and her

stopped the goddess of night and brought Celestia’s sister luna back from a 1,000 year banishment to the moon, when a loud whirring came from outside the library, followed next by footsteps and then a knocking at the door.

“Ah, that must be Matt.” said Jim as he got up to answer the door. This stopped Twilights history lesson, as she wanted to know who was at her door.

“Jim who is that?” asked Twilight.

“ It is a friend of mine. His name is Matt Horner and we go way back. I trust this man with my life.”said Jim as walked over to the door and opened it to see that captain standing there waiting to be let in, but Jim wanted to tell him something first.

“ Now Matt the inhabitants of this planet are a bit different so I don’t expect you to understand right way but rest assured that it will all be explained to you.” said Jim

“Understood Sir” replied Matt as Jim let him in. Matt looked around the room only to see a purple unicorn sitting in chair next to Jim. Matt looked on with a face of puzzlement as to why his friend had taken up living with such a strange creature. Jim started to explain the situation to Matt.

“ Matt from what I have been told these ‘ponies’ are the inhabitants of this land. I have met with their ruler and she has told me that there is way back to our reality but it will take time so we may be here for a long time. However my friend here has agreed to take us in and show the town to us. Her name is-well she can introduce herself.” said Jim as he sat back down. Twilight rose to introduce herself to the new creature standing in the middle of her home.

“ Hello Mr.Horner my name is Twilight and it is honor to meet you. I’m more than happy to show you and friends around Ponyville and it has been a pleasure to come to know all three of you.” Twilight said. Matt’s expression changed for puzzlement to bewilderment as he heard the purple unicorn speak.

“Th-That horse ju-just talked !” said Matt who took a step back and tried to comprehend what was happening.

“ That horse happens to be a PONY” corrected Twilight. Tychus, having been on his best behavior, got up from the small chair and confronted the bewildered captain, laughing while he did it.

“ Oh partner you should see the look on your face, priceless. As for the talking “pony” you get used to it and I think that normal physics have also been thrown out the door as well.”said Tychus, accounting for the wolf incident.

“ I need to go for a LONG walk.”said Matt, as still tried to wrap his head around the idea of talking ponies.

“ I think that it is time we left the confines of the library and Twilight showed us around and properly introduced us to her friends.”said Jim as he too wanted to explore this new world. He got up and headed for the front door.

“ Oh great, more talking ponies.” Said Matt as he followed Jim out the door with Tychus behind him.

The men and the mare stepped out of the library onto the main street of Ponyville.

“So Twilight which one of your friends should we meet first?” asked Matt who had now gotten over talking pony episode and felt comfortable to ask the purple pony a question.

“Well I think I should take you to meet Rainbow Dash. I think you guys may like her.” said Twilight

“Then that is where we'll start” said Jim.

“Hey purple horse is there any where in this town where a man can get a drink?” asked Tychus as Twilight looked up at him with piercing eyes

“My name is Twilight and I’m not a horse I’m a pony and yes there is Deadmare’s Port it is just down the way you can’t miss it.” said Twilight, pointing her hoof in the right direction for Tychus to follow, and he walked off in direction that Twilight was pointing toward.

“Well thats the last of him we will see for today.” said Matt, who was well aware of Tychus drinking habits.

“Are you sure he’ll be alright on his own? asked Twilight

“Yeah just as long as their supply of drink hold out till we get back.” said Jim, chuckling a bit.

The trio walked down the street as everypony looked back at them. Some ponies looked on with wonder and curiosity others with horror and distrust. Seeing all the faces stare at them made Matt uncomfortable, and so begged the question to Twilight

“Twilight why are all these ponies staring at us?” Asked Matt

Twilight answered with the best of her knowledge “ Well Matt your type have hardly ever been seen in Ponyville, however we do have creatures like you, but they live across the Equestrian sea.” answered Twilight. They pushed onto outskirts of ponyville as the came to open fields and rolling hills with dirt paths running through it. By now both men were growing tired of walking, and Twilight could see it in their faces.

“Not to worry gentlemen, it is not much further” Said Twilight “ In fact, there it is.” pointing a hoof to the floating house.

Matt saw this and instantly commented on it “ I guess Tychus was right saying that physics do not apply here.” said Matt as he saw the floating cloud house.

The group approached Rainbow’s home as Twilight yelled up to her.

“Rainbow I got some friends I want you meet!” said Twilight.

There was a pause before any answer came from the window

“ Are those the aliens we meet in the forest last time?” said Rainbow Dash, as she peeked out her window, to see Jim and Matt standing below her house.

“ Come on down here Rainbow and meet them. They're very nice and maybe will show us around their spaceship later.” said Twilight as she tried to coxe Rainbow down.

“Did you say SPACESHIP?” asked Rainbow lifting an eyebrow.

Jim responded to the question “ Yes Rainbow Dash ,you and Twilight both can have a tour of the ship if you come down and introduce yourself to Matt” Jim said.

“Ohh My gosh, Ohh My Gosh!”said Rainbow Dash in excitement as she flew down to meet Jim and Matt.

“The names Rainbow Dash and I’m the fastest and BEST Flyer in Equestria and I can’t believe that i’m meeting actual aliens. So do you guy have laser guns and have space adventures?”she asked.

Jim responded “ Yes we do.” Jim said. Matt however was questioning just how fast and good of a flyer this pegus was.

“Hey Rainbow, I know some thing that could fly faster than you!” said Matt

“ Now Matt don’t tempt her.” warned Twilight

“Yeah, I know that I’m FASTER!” argued Rainbow

Matt stood there laughing to himself. “Then lets prove it”. said Matt

“ You're on” proudly said Rainbow Dash

Matt took his commutator and haled the Hyperion.

“ Hyperion this is the captain, we are coming back with some guests. Also have a viking ready I have someone here who thinks they can out do our pilots.” said Matt

There was a reply “Roger Captain sending a Medivac to you now” said an unknown voice.

It was not long before a whirring noisewas heard, and a Medivac was seen coming over head.

The Medivac landed, and Jim and Matt were just about to climb inside when Twilight said something.

“What is that thing?” asked Twilight

“This is a type of transport. It is going to take us to my spaceship.” Said Jim

Hearing the word spaceship immediately caused Rainbow to zoom in side and find a seat, who was hesitantly followed by Twilight as she too found a place along with Jim And Matt.

The Medivac took off and set a course to the Hyperion.

Hyperion landing site 1:30 - Surface Time

The Medivac landed and all of its occupants exited. Rainbow got her first looks at all the new machines and alien tech that now surrounded her.

“ So Awesome” squealed Rainbow, as she saw Siege Tanks, Firebats, and Vikings move around the site, just as maires where setting up camp and a few small defenses.

“Oh the advances we could make with your technology” Said Twilight.

“Well then come on Twilight, and I can show you the lab.” said Jim, he could see that Twilight was one of science.

“You have a laboratory!?.” asked Twilight

“Yes we do now come along before I change my mind.” said Jim as Twilight came trotting after him. Just before the two took the ramp up to Hyperion Jim called back to Matt.

“ Hey Matt after you finish your little bet with Rainbow, you are more than welcome to join us up in the lab.” said Jim, as he turned and walked up into Hyperion.

Matt called back “Will do.” He turned to face Rainbow as one of the viking pilots walked over.

“Is this thing that I’m going to race today?” asked the pilot.

“Hey I’m not a thing, I’m a pegasus, and I’m going to prove to you all that I’m the fastest one here!” declared Rainbow Dash.

“We’ll see about that. Now where do want this rase to go to?”asked Matt.

Rainbow took her time to answer this “How about to my house and back” said Rainbow

“Sounds fair enough. I’ll go get ready.” said the pilot. He walked over to his viking, climbed inside and started it up.

Matt nudged Rainbow to look at the viking. “Watch this” he said pointing to the viking.

As if by magic Rainbow saw the walker transform in the a full fledged flying machine.

“ THAT WAS AWESOME”! she said then took her place by the Vikings side.

Matt found a flare gun to signal the start of the race.

He pulled the trigger, the flare shot up in the air, and both contestants took off in a flash of speed. They zoomed over the tops of the Everfree forest, as the Viking and Rainbow battled it out to see who would pull a head first. Rainbow came along side left side and taunted the pilot as she took off racing ahead with another burst of speed. Not wanting to be shown up, the pilot gunned the throttle and came up behind Rainbow on her right side, waving as he overtook her.

The two came up on Rainbow’s house and began a wide arc around it as they back to the straight away as the pilot maxed out the throttle. The Viking responded with another rush of speed as it passed the speed of sound producing a sonic boom.

Thinking that his victory was assured. “ The only way it can beat me now, is if it goes super sonic.” The pilot thought to himself, knowing that this was impossible. But then again, he was in a place where the laws of physics did not apply, and no sooner did he finish thinking this there came another loud boom as the he saw the multi colored streak pass by him and on to the finish line. “Impossible”, the pilot thought to himself.

Both Rainbow and the Viking came down and landed. Rainbow trotted over to Matt in victorious stride.

“ I WIN!” said Rainbow Dash

“ As you did Rainbow, which means I have been proven wrong. Here is your prize.” said Matt, as he handed her a pair of golden wings on a pin.

“Well at least I know someone I can have fun with. Hey Matt what is the pilot's name anyway?” Rainbow asked.

“ His name is Captain Jack. Why don’t you go introduce yourself. I’m sure he will like you.” said Matt

“Ok.” said Rainbow as she trotted over to the Viking as Jack got down and Rainbow started a conversation with him as the both walked off leaving Matt alone.

“Better go see what Jim and Twilight are up to.” Matt thought as he walked up the ramp in to ship.

Hyperion Armory 2:30 - Surface Time

Jim lead twilight in to armory as Swann took notice of the Jim’s companion.

“Hey Hot Shot what have you got there?” asked Swann

Jim quickly explained that this was a land full of magic and talking ponies.

“Well that does seem like quite the adventure bu-” he was cut off by a marine who stormed in, and had a mare in his company. The mare herself was a unicorn, her coat was lime green with a gray and white mane, and she had a cutie mark of a harp.

“Lyra how did you get here?”said Twilight who had recognized the mare. Lyra was frightened by the sight of the much larger humans that surrounded her.

“ I was just curious about the new creatures in ponyville, so I followed them here and found my way on board. They are also relative to my interests... I mean they have arms and legs. I wish that I could have arms and legs too.” responded Lyra

Jim put some thought into this as normally he would have just thrown the mare off the ship at first sight but having Twilight with him persuaded him to do so otherwise.

“ Well if she really does want that feeling of arms and legs reckon we can oblige her. Swann bring over the smallest suit we’ve got.” said Jim

“ Alright, Hot Shot, but I don't see how a pony is compatible with one of our suits.” said Swann, as he brought over the smallest suits he could find and sat it down next to her.

“ All right Lyra, get inside and the suit will do the rest.” said Jim

Lyra did as she was told, she got inside the suit and it closed up around her. Lyra was now overcome with excitement now that her dream was about to come true.

“ what should we do first?” asked lyra who did not know where to start with her new found power

“Well lets start with closing the hand” said Jim

“All right but how do I do that?” asked Lyra. Jim had his entire life to figure out how his hands and legs worked and was not completely sure how to explain it.

“Well Lyra close your eyes and picture the hand closing” said Jim

Lyra closed her eyes and pictured the hand the closing. There came a whirring from the motors in the hand as it closed.

Lyra let out an audible squee, seeing what she had accomplished.

“ Good work Lyra, now try and move both arms, and then we will move on to walking.”

said Jim

Lyra was quick to get ahold of moving the arms, and soon she was grabbing objects around her Jim was impressed that a pony could catch on so quickly with the movements of the hands and arms, so he decided to have her try walking.

“Ok, Lyra, lets try walking just do what you did with the hand, and we can go from there.” said Jim

“Alright I’ll give it a shot” said lyra as she brought the left leg up, and was about to bring it down when she lost her balance and fell flat on her face.

“ Are you alright?!” asked Jim, as he came running over.

“ Yes, I’m fine. Let's try again” said Lyra as she began to start the walking process, with Jim holding her hand the entire way. Lyra took small steps to get the feel for it, and as her confidence grew so did her stride. Soon she was able let go of the security of Jim’s hand, and began to walk around the hanger by herself. After a few minutes of doing this, she moved on to running, which started off better than her first attempt at walking. Soon she was able to run at a reasonably fast pace. Seeing all this made Swann uneasy

“Hey, commander I think she’s had her fun now I don't want to run the risk of her breaking something.” said Swann

“I think you’re right. Lyra lets call it good for today” said Jim

“AWW” said Lyra, as she walked over and Swann got the suit off her.

“Now go on back to Ponyville, and maybe later Swann will let you get back inside the suit.” Jim

Lyra did as she was told and exited the armory, just as Matt passed her on the way in. He was greeted by Jim and Twilight.

“Hello Matt” they both said as Jim continued his thought.

“ I was think thinking that it was time we checked on Tychus and Fluttershy” said Jim

Twilight shared his opinion.

“ I think you’re right, Jim. Flutters should be awake, and your friend should have had his fill by now.” said Twilight.

“ I could do with a drink myself.” said Matt “ I’ll get a medivac ready”

“Must we travel in that confounded contraption again again? Besides, I have a much better way of getting around.”replied Twilight, as her horn started to glow.

“What do mean other wa-” Matt was cut off as the purple aura surrounded him and Jim, then suddenly having the feeling of going down the top a roller coaster, they were teleported to Ponyville.

Deadmare’s Port 4:30 - Equestrian Time

After the men come to their senses and regained a sense of direction, Jim looked around and saw that he was in front of Deadmare’s Port Tavern with Matt beside him. He turned over to see Twilight.

“Never do that to me again.” said Jim, with effects of the teleportation still wearing off.

“ Well, lets go get Tychus” said Matt.

Before they could take another step, Tychus blew through the front doors, with a big red stallion in tow.

“Hey guyss wuts going on -hic-. I just been tell’n these here horses of the mah brave andventurs with the famous Jim Raynor -hic-. isn't that right Mac.” said Tychus, who was clearly drunk.

“‘Eeyup” said the red stallion

“Right,Twilight why don’t you take Tychus back to library, and Matt and I will stay here for a bit.”

“Sounds good to me” said Twilight, as she escorted the drunk back to the library.

Matt and Jim entered the bar, and as they did, they were greeted by every voice in the bar.

“Hey it those guys Tychus was talking about.” said the bartender

Jim sat down and ordered a drink.

“ Here you go. Tychus said a lot about how great you were, so I reckon the first few are on the house.” said the bartender

Jim took a drink and was amazed at how good it tasted. It was like apple cider with whiskey and the best thing to hit his lips all day and whatever it was, he liked it and ordered another.

Matt on the other hand took notice of a group of ponies that were playing cards and thought that it might be a good idea to join them seeing that it was just about to start. He started over, only to have Jim turn around and take note of where Matt was going.

“ Now, Matt, you know what happened last time to played cards, right?” asked Jim

“ Yes, sir, I do, but I don't think any of these ponies would do that.” said Matt as he sat down, bought in and, played a nice game of cards.

Unforeseen Consequences

Deadmare’s Port - Time Unknown

Jim sat in the saloon nursing his third mug of Sweet Apple Cider, surprising even to his bitter, alcoholic self at how much he enjoyed it’s crisp and sweet taste, when a sudden silence swept across the room as lithe shadow darkened the doorway. Silently announcing a cause for fear among the saloon patrons. Jim turned, almost involuntarily, to see.The figure turned out to be a Terran female, with raven tresses much like the Raiders' Commander, and eyes of color to match Jim's. She might have been beautiful if not for the burn scars marring the left side of her face.

"Hello 'dear' brother," said the inverse mirror of the Champion of Freedom, a murderous leer upon her face.

"Jane..." replied Jim with an angry scowl, his hand sweeping down to his holster as his fraternal opposite was drawing out her own revolver.From outside the saloon, gunfire and breaking glass could be heard...

Deadmare’s Port 6:30 - Equestrian Time

Jim awoke from this dream with a gasp knocking over the a bottle the bars finest stuff and only to be caught by the magic of the unicorn.

“Watch it there partner thats our finest stuff hate to see it go to waste.” commented the bartender as he saw the terran start to rise from having his head rested in his arm atop the bar.

“Urg wheres Matt, and how long have been out?” asked the groggy rebel commander.

The Bartender pointed his hoof toward the table of stallions and one man.

“Looks like that little old game of theirs is about to produce its winner.” observed the bartender.

Jim got up from his chair, and haphazardly walked over to the card table and saw that Matt was clearly winning. However there was one detail that made him uneasy: he saw a large pile of credits sitting in the middle of the table.

“ Matt what are you doing? You’ve bet all our money.” said Jim displeased and nervous.

"Not to worry sir, I know what I'm doing and besides I was about to raise the bet to eleven."said Matt as he was more than confident in his hand pushing him to go all in. This caused unruliness amongst the card table patrons as the other players followed the captain's example.

“Well gentlemen moment of truth some ones life is about to change.” Matt let out knowing that he was about to win a very large sum of credits and bits along with a strange medium sized sack that some pony threw in. One by one the players laid down their cards, Matt was the last but in the process and he saw the second highest hand decided that it would to fun to take Jim on a trip seeing that he did don’t know the cards that Matt held.

Matt looked to Jim “urg Two Pair I’m sorry Jim.” relieved Matt. Hearing what Matt said changed the commanders face from that of support to anger and frustration yet he still remained silent as Matt continued. “But you're not going to see home again for a long time because we are staying in Equestria FULL HOUSE BOYS!” declared Matt who slapped his cards down on the table for all to see, cheering as he did.

Most of the ponies got up and left, yet a large, black stallion with and black and gray mane, who also wearing suit and tie, remained with four others behind him. The one in the suit began a slow clap as he raised his glass to Matt.The clap was finished by the others behind him.

The stallion in the suite spoke “ Congratulations, Mr.Horner, I’m sure you will want to claim your prize now.” suggested the stallion. The other stallions that stood behind him trotted off and vanished behind one of the doors that lead to a back rooms of the bar.

What they came back with horrified Matt. It was an orange mare with freckles and a cowboy hat. She was kicking and screaming “LET ME GO, LET ME GO”, trying to escape the grasp of the stallions, but to avail. Matt was now backing away from the table as he turned to face the door in an attempt to escape his fate, but was cut off by another two stallions.

“Now Its time for your vows.” said the main stallion

Matt turned his head and lock eyes with the orange mare and could tell that she did not want this either. He could also see the fear and displeasure that geald from them. Seeing this gave Matt a rush of courage as he thought “ There is NO way in hell I’m going to marry one of these damn horses...”

He charged the biggest stallion he could find holding the orange mare, and delivered a right hook to the side of its face with all of his hate and anger behind it. The puch sent the stallion clean to the floor with a pit of blood and teeth along with him. The bar patrons erupted in a roar as the bar fight started around them and bandplayed music to fit. The knocking out of the bigger stallion shocked and surprised the others, giving their hostage time to escape her bonds and give a hefty buck to the closest captor, knocking him over the bar counter with a shatter of bottles and booze.

“Oi, thats my good stuff!” yelled an angry bartender

“Not now!” was the response of both man and mare as the other four stallions closed in ready to finish off the two. By now Jim could tell that he was needed and proceeded to join the fight and support his friend. The angry stallions closed in surrounding the trio in a menacing ring.

Jim was the first to strike pounding one of his attackers until his face was sipperly with dark red blood and clasping to the floor, only to Jim finish him off with a massive boot to the face. In doing so, there came the sound of breaking bone as boot met face and the stallion was rendered useless. Satisfied Jim turned his focus to another only to start the process all over again.

Matt on the other hand was not doing too bad; he was not as much of a heavy hitter as Jim, but was quick and dodged and hit back when he could. It took Matt a bit longer to to get a result, but he got there in the end with yet another stallion down.

As for the orange mare, she seemed to have her situation well in hand as she brought down her aggressor.

The three made short work of the thugs when they all turned to face the main stallion who was now running towards that the back door. Jim had other ideas than to stand by and watch this stallion escape. His hand swooped down to his holster and removed his revolver and took careful aim as the shoot was made and the stallion hit the floor cold and lifeless as pool of blood started to form.

The Bartender walked over to to body and was able to identify it instantly.

“ Do you have any idea who you just Killed!” screamed the Bartender

“No, was he important?” was the reply from the still groggy commander

“Thats Don Vito Corleone head of the main crime family in ponyville the guard have been after him for a long time. Now that he is dead you have just freed us from his grasp and put an end to a horrible wave of crime here.” cheered the Bartender

“Well, it is pleasure to dispense justice where it is needed.” reported Jim.

Jim walked back to bar and ordered more drinks as the bodies were cleaned way. “Sorry about the mess.” forgave Jim as he tossed the Bartender a few bits that he took from Matt’s victory. Matt, in the meantime was concerned about the nature of the orange mare that he and Jim had just saved. He was a bit cautious to approach the mare as he did not want to sercombe to fate of the stallons.

“Good evening miss... umm.” Matt spoke nervously as he was not entirely sure to introduce himself to her.

“Applejack”, respond Applejack. “But your more then welcome to call me AJ.” Applejack finished introducing herself as Matt got on with what he wanted to say.

“ Well it is a pleasure to meet you, AppleJack. The names Matt Horner and I just wanted to see how you are doing after our little brawl with the stallons.” asked Matt

AJ fixed her hat and after doing so respond “ Shoot that was noth’n, but I’m mighty glad you and your friend there showed up to help me. You know what I reckon you want to come back with me to my farm. I think you just have earned yourself some Apple Family cider.” concluded Applejack.

Matt gave this some time of thought before he gave answer. “ Do I really want to wander off with some horse that I just saved, yet hardly even know?” was the question that repeated over and over again. “But still it is the least I could do for her, sure why not I’ll go with her it will be good to meet for of these taking ponies.” was the answer that Matt come up with.

“AJ I would be more than happy to escort you home and share some of your Family's Cider.” was the answer that Matt gave to AppleJack.

“Yee Hah! We can leave when y’all feel like it”. said an overjoyed AppleJack as she walked over to the door and waited for Matt to inform his friend for where he was joining. Jim decided that it would be best he went back to the library and got caught up with how Tychus was doing, as well as Fluttershy. The two meet at the front door as the entirety of the bar said good bye.

“ Matt I’m going to back to Twilight’s Library to see what the situation is over there. You and your friend can have the evening to yourselves.” stated Jim as he departed for the direction of the Library.While in the same fashion Matt and AppleJack left for Sweet Apple Acres and a night of drink.

Sweet Apple Acres one hour later - Equestrian Time

The two approached the little farm house with a white picket fence that help to guide them up the entrance of the farm. As man and mare made their final approach they took notice of the pitch black smoke that billowed and curled from the chimney of the nearing farm house.

“Looks like old Granny left the fire for us.” noticed AppleJack.

Matt did not dare question who this “Granny” was, so he just put it off as a caretaker of the house and moved on to his next thought.

“ Looks inviting enough, let's head inside, it is starting to get a bit cold out here.” complained Matt as he took his first step on the porch then on into the house.

The inside of the house was warming and inviting with the fire roaring way in the fireplace. Matt noticed that it smelled of fresh baked pies with the entirety of the house done up in an old west theme. He also found himself surprisingly at home here.

“ Why don’t you make your self a home sugar cube. I’ll get us some drinks.” stated AppleJack as she trotted off in into the kitchen. After a few minutes of digging around, she found what she was looking for, two silver beer mugs.( Like Those found in Germany.) The mare brought them out and set them on the wooden table then proceed to go outside and on to the big red barn.

A few moments went by and Matt decided to follow the advice of the orange mare. He removed his boots, sat them near the door, and hung his uniform jacket on a nearby coat rack. Next he walked over to the small couch and sat down. It was just big enough to fit him, yet it was comfortable. The fire glowed on his face as he propped his feet up on wooden table with the relaxing warmth of the fire on his feet. He admired the dancing of the yellow and orange flames as their show now seeked to involve another log. He was invoked by the beauty of something so graceful yet so destructive.

“This place is not so bad after all.” Matt thought in a state of tranquility. It was soon interrupted by the slamming of the front door and AppleJack storming in with decent sized keg of fresh hard apple cider. She rolled it over to the table and Matt helped her pour the first glasses. Matt raised his mug to his lips and took his first taste of Apple Family hard apple cider.

The taste was unmanageable the rush of apple and the hint of whiskey overtook his taste buds in wave of liquid heaven which led to give a satisfying “MMMM” He finished off his first glass rather quickly and poured himself another as AppleJack did the same and soon the two were happily drinking the night away.

Matt and AppleJack told each other stories of their adventures when AppleJack came to admit something to Matt.

“ You Know -hic-Y’all ain't so bad -hic-” stumbled AppleJack as she was now getting to point of drunkenness and falling to the floor in a heap of pony that was now asleep. Matt was getting the feeling that he too should stop before he had Jim to answer to.

“You ponies aren’t so bad yourselves and you know what I’m rather starting to enjoy myself here” he thought as he laid down on floor with a pillow from the couch to support his head when AppleJack curled up next to him. He wrapped his arm over her and pulled her in even closer and soon the two were fast asleep in each others warm embrace.

Sweet Apple Acres The next Morning - Equestrian Time

Matt awoke next morning to find Applejack sprawled out over his chest in left to right position as he himself was laying up and down. At first he did not know what to make of this pony laying over him he thought it was rather cute then it hit him.

“ Did I have it with a - noooooo I couldn’t have I mean I was not that drunk.” questioned Matt as sat up and looked around the room for any clear indications of human and pony entanglements. After surveying the room from his sat up position he was convinced that nothing of that sort happened but he still had the problem of the sleeping mare on his stomach. Matt thought about this carefully and in the end he pick up the ball fur and placed it on the couch. It reformed itself into a ball and as it did she gave a yawn. Matt had now just saw the cutest thing in his life and gave a little “d’aww”. Matt now looked away from AppleJack and into the kitchen wondering if was a good idea to find something to eat.

“I wonder if there anything good to eat here” Wondered Matt as he walked in the kitchen and found a fresh apple pie sitting on the table. Matt was overcome with the temptation to eat the free pie that sat alone and helpless on the wooden table. Matt found a knife and fork, sat down and attacked his helpless victim as pie was spattered in every direction on the the table.

Matt ate what was left of the best pie he had ever eaten when he heard hoof steps in the kitchen. It was AppleJack who had awoken and had caught Matt in that act of eating the pie. Matt sat like a deer in the headlights with the murdered pie in front of him and the fork in his hand.

“ Y’all ate that there pie faster than timberwolves on their prey. Lucky for you I set that out there last night for us to have this morning but then again.” consulted Applejack as she saw the terran put down his fork. and was about to address Applejack when a knocking came from the front door.

“ I got it!” hollered Apple as he rushed to the door. She pulled it open to see Twilight standing at the front door.

“Well good morning Twilight. What can I do for this morning” greeted AppleJack.

“ I really came to collect Matt his friend wants him back at the Library says it is important.” replied Twilight.

Hearing the the ponies conversation from the kitchen Matt got up from the table a walked to the door to see Applejack and Twilight standing in the doorway. Matt then took notice of a brown messenger bag that she had stung over her. This peaked Matt curiosity to know what was inside.

“Twilight, what is inside the bag?” asked Matt

“Oh it is just an ancient Equestrian artfact the princess wants me to study. Now we must be going Mr. Horner Jim said not to keep him waiting.” said Twilight.

Matt nodded in understanding as he put on his jacket next by his boots and gave Applejack a friendly goodbye and thank her for the evening as he was lead out of the house by Twilight.

“Brace yourself Matt” advised Twilight as her horn began to glow with its purple aura.

Knowing that he was about to teleported again he heeded the advice of the purple mare and prepared himself as the aura surrounded him and the two were wisped away.

Twilight’s Library 9:00 Equestrian Time

Matt found himself on the ground in front of the library with the feeling of nausea and disorientation. He slowly stood up and addressed the unicorn as the effects wore away.

“ I’m sure I’ll never get used to that but anyway let's head inside.” commented Matt as he led the way in side followed by Twilight.

Upon entering the Matt saw the commander was telling Fluttershy stories of their adventures.

“Where’s Tychus?” asked Matt

“He is down in the basement he was pretty wasted from last night but I’m glad to see that Miss Fluttershy is doing better however we need to have a talk about an item you won from your little game.” said Jim as he pulled out a small brown sack and retrieved what was inside. It was small black object that bore strange alien markings. Matt knew what it was but could not believe that something like that was here.

“ Is that a Xel'naga artifact?” asked Matt looking on to the object with all fascination on how something like that could ever come here.

“Yes Matt I had Stetmann look it over it is Xel'naga. Look for yourself.” said Jim as he tossed the artfact over.(2:05)

What happened next took everyone in the room by surprise and dumbfoundment as the artifact stopped mid fight and hovered in the middle of the room as it glowed a brilliant dark blue. It began to rise to top of the room just before stopping a few feet below the ceiling. The artifact then erupted in a blinding burst of blue light. After the light had subsided the Equestrian artfact rose from Twilight’s bag and it to glow a golden hue and rose to join the other and like the artifact before it too let out a brilliant blast of colored light as the two objects orbited around each other drawing closer and closer until they meet in yet another flash of interchanged light as both Xel'naga and Equestrian technologies were fused into one solid piece that now lowered itself to just a few feet off the floor and hovered there for all to see.

“Well that was a bit unexpected.” commented Twilight as she rush over to study the new object that floated in front of her.

The terrens stood there not knowing what do or what to even make of the new object that was bestowed in front of them.

“Umm Twilight what happened?” asked Jim still conceiving the object that was in front of him.

“ Well Mr. Raynor it looks like your Xel'naga artifact along with mine have fused smoothly yet oddly in a twist of impossibility to form some kind of new artfact. At this point I still do not know what it capable of nor what its use is.” replied Twilight giving her best answer.

Matt looked on at the oddity that hovered in front of him and thought of the best thing to do.

“I think one of your Princess might know more about this” suggested Matt

Fluttershy spoke up “ Then perhaps we should go see them. I’m not liking this thing it has a dark feel to it.”As if on cue a letter bearing the royal seal appeared in a wisp of light landing on the floor. Twilight put aside the artifact and retrieved the letter from the floor and read it

Princess Celestia

Twilight put down the letter and walked over to Jim who was still admiring the artifact.

“ Jim I just got a letter from the Princess she wants to see you immediately about matter of importance.” Said Twilight as she got his attention away from the hoving artfact. Jim looked away from the object and respond to Twilight.

“ Well then we must not keep her waiting then lets take the artifact with us. Matt I want you to look after things till I get and don’t let Tychus get out of hand.” said the commander as he walked over the artifact. He was not sure what would happen when he touched it so he just went for anyway and at the very touch the artifact grew dark and fell to the ground. He bent over and picked it up then dropped it into Twilight’s bag.

“Ready to go Jim?” asked Twilight as she turned towards the door

“ Yes I’m.” Jim replied as they both walked out of door and onto the main street.

“ The trains are the fastest way to the castle. lets head over to the station and wait for one” suggested Twilight. Jim nodded in agreement as headed to the train station and bored the next train to canterlot.

Canterlot Castle 14:30 - Equestrian Time

The train pulled up to the station and when it stopped Twilight and Jim step out with artifact in tow. Jim took in the sight of the majestic castle in front of him along with the city that lay just below it.

“ Now there’s something one does not gets to see every day.” commented Jim as he marveled at sights before him. He wish he had some time to walk around and get to know this wondrous place as it seemed full of life and culture before he had to meet the princess.

“ Twilight is there a chance that we can look around before we go see the princess. This place is like no other I have been to. I would like to see more of it.” asked Jim hoping there would be some time to this yet Twilight had other plans.

“Sorry Jim but the Princess doesn't like to kept waiting. If there is time after I would be happy to show you around Canterlot.” said Twilight as they both walked through the streets with Jim admiring all the shops and ponies as they went about their lives. They approached the gates of Canterlot Castle as a guard came to meet them.

“HALT who goes there!” commanded the guard

Twilight handled the question easily.

“ I’m Twilight sparkle and this is my friend Jim Raynor. The Princess has asked to see him personally.” respond Twilight as he handed the letter she got from the Princess to guard who looked down at it then up to Jim eyeing him then back down to the letter. satisfied he gave the letter back to Twilight.

“Let them in.” he ordered. The gates opened giving Twilight and Jim a clear path to entrance of the grand castle.

The pair entered the and Jim got his first glimpse of the interior it was grand with a great staircase the divide the room in two then split off leading to two different areas of the castle. Next there was the large windows that flooded in light and were adorned with elegant curtains next to those where busts of ponies heads with the whole place done up with gold, pink and violet color scheme. Lastly there was the Princess who stood atop the staircase waiting for Jim.

“ Welcome Mr. Raynor to Canterlot Castle If you be so kind as to follow me I would like to show you what I called you here for.” said The Princess as she walked to right wing of the staircase and left with Jim and Twilight close behind her. They passed through a long with stained glass windows that Jim decided to be key events in this land history he glanced at each one and tried to make out what each one was depicting. Before he knew it he entered a large rotunda and this where the princess stopped.

“ Guards bring in the creature!” she commanded as the ponies went about bring in a large glass box.

Jim stood there frozen in horror as he saw what the glass prison held. It was small 6 limbed and bristling with scythes with a raptor like appricence. It squirmed and rustled in the container growling and snarling. Jim back away from it as he knew this creature all too well and what it meant.

“ You know this creature.” asked Celestia

“Know it, Princess you have to kill it NOW!” ordered Jim as began to take out his revolver

“Can you tell us more about this creature before we do.” asked Celestia Jim responded without hesitation

“ This thing is a Zergling and it is one of the most feared alien creatures. If there is one there is bound to more and we must find the rest before this thing gets out of control.” warned the commander as he shot the Zergling dead.

The Zerglings death was accompanied by a loud echoing voice that overtook rotunda.

“ Well if it is not the famous Jim Raynor here to save all of Equestria from the swarm” echoed the strange voice.

Princess Celestia immediately took a defensive stance and replied to the voice.

“Who are you SHOW YOURSELF.” she demanded

“As you wish your highness” said the voice. After this a large wall of what looked to black smoke appeared and out step a creature that was nearly unidentifiable. It was an alicorn wearing the remains of a royal blue uniform with appendages protruding from its body. It had a tentacle that wrapped around the horn and one wing. It’s eyes burned yellow with veins that stuck out of its neck and right hoof. It was a monstrosity

The creature spoke “ I’m Twisted Ascension and will see this burned and infected with you and sisters heads at my hoofs.” snarled Twisted Ascension

This set Jim into a rage “LIKE HELL YOU WILL!” Jim yelled as he fired another shot but missed

Not wanting to be killed by an angry terrain with a gun the infested alicon withdrew into another cloud black but not before saying “ This is the way the world ends.”

“Jim what does he mean by that?” asked Celestia

Jim took few seconds to cool off before answering

“ He means Princess that war is coming with all of its horrors and all of its glories.”
