The city of Manehattan hooves are full of the blood of the innocent. The cold dark streets are littered with bodies of mothers, fathers, and their beloved fillies. Deep in the gutters they throw their cold lifeless bodies where they rot. As maggots feast on their slowly decaying remains. While otherponies just take more lives and then go throw another party in their mansion or new yacht. Sex and murder are the only things that should come to anyponies mind if they hear the name Manehattan. The rich, the whores and the fucked up politicians dam the city to the deepest darkest part of hell. Where they will ask for forgiveness as they bag on their bloody knees as the devil laughs at their tears of pain in their eyes. For there can never be any forgiveness when the innocent give their complete trust and all they do is piss in their face like an ungrateful dog. Murdering the mares, working the colts to death, and taking advantage of the young innocent fillies. They all go on with their little lives as if their body lying dead in the middle of the street wasn't there. I see them through all the blood and all their fucking bullshit that they sell to the city everyday. I swear on my deathbed to my last breath the innocent will find vengeance. Someone has to put this goddamn dog down sometime. I guess I should be the one to pull the trigger, because honestly I can't take all their killing and all their bullshit anymore. Good colts, mares are dying everyday and for what for these sick twisted ponies it sickens me to no end.
"What do you make of it Miles " said the head of Manhattan guard yawning trying to stay awake.
"I don't know Goldwing I just don't know" Miles said rubbing his head with his hoof.
"Where is that partner of yours anyways I know it's midnight, but this is a big deal."
"Oh, Archer is in bed; we decided long ago to switch off night shifts so that we could work better. All we end up doing is finding the same thing anyways so we might as well get some sleep in from time to time."
"This has to be the third one we have found in the past five months."
"Who knows how many there are altogether"
"Your partners going to flip his lid when he sees this. There is no criminal that stallion hates more than the pony that is doing this."
"Yeah I know right, I would hate to be that guy if Spade ever gets his hooves around him"
It was early morning in Manehatten the sun was just about to come up. Archer Spade was reading the paper and on the front cover was a dead filly. The skin and muscle was ripped off of his young body. There were bite marks everywhere like something was eating him alive. The press thought it might have been a dog or some animal the could have killed him, but they were wrong like always. On his desk there sat a folder with the forensics of the colts death body that was just placed on his desk moments ago by his secretary Cherry.
Archer Spade then took out one of his cigarette rolls, his tobacco pouch, and his lighter out of his front vest pocket. He then started to roll one of them with his hooves and then licked it from side to side. When he was done making the cigarette. Spade lit the newly rolled cigarette and started to inhaled the smoke. With a deep sai of relief he laid back in his chair.
Spade then opened the folder on his desk. The bite marks turned out to be from another ponies teeth. The organization was already going through dental records to try to find a match. However they were having little to no luck in their search. Spade was just about to head over to the crime scene when there was a knock at his door. "Come in Miles the door is open" Spade said. However it wasn't Raven Miles who stepped into his office, but a small filly. Her red hair was parted to the side and her orange coat shined in the small amount of light in the gloomy dark room that was his office. Spade quickly closed the folder on his desk and put out his cigarette."Um, hello I wasn't expecting anyone today?" said Spade looking a little shocked.
"Hello sir my name is Babs seed and somepony told me that you take on special clients" she said with her head down staring at the floor.
"Sometimes, but normally it's for a lot a bits, a lot more then I think you have on you" Spade said in a serious voice."Plus your not suppose to be up here this is not a place for kids."
"Yeah I know, but you see I really need your help you see I have this friend who I think is in trouble" Babs said looking up at the colt, whose legs were now on the top of his desk with his fedora over his eyes.
"If she is in danger why isn't she or him here instead of you?"
"Because she too afraid of the Manehatten monster"
"The Manehatten what now" Spade said laughing at her with disbelief.
"Oh come on, you know the monster that lives in the sewers in Manehatten that eats little fillies" Babs said what a questioning look on her face. " Everyone in school talks" , but Babs was cut off as the door to the office was swung open as a large brown pony with a handlebar mustache laughing at the top of his lungs walked into the room.
"Spade you old dog” He said as he ran over to Spades desk. “How was Canterlot wait a second” He stopped and stared at Spade with a raised raised eyebrow. “I thought you were going to take a look at the crime scene. I must say it’s truly a dark day. Another filly is dead because of ... well hello there" The large brown earth pony finally noticed the small red headed filly standing in the middle of the room.
"Miles please don't interrupt go on Babs you were saying" Spade said angrily to his partner.
"Now hold on Spade why is a."
"Miles please shut the fuck up and sit the fuck down!" Spade said slamming his hooves on his desk. Miles quickly tip toed over to his desk."Bebs please tell me about this monster."
"The Manehatten monster is the monster that lives in the sewers of Manehatten. He takes little fillies and eats them whole, but I thought everypony knew about him" Bebs said staring at the colt.
"How can that be though Spade we never released anything to the press and we told the parents of all the families to leave town so that mayhem doesn't"
"Oh Shut up god dammit Miles" Spade said slamming both of his hoofs on his desk. "Babs please tell me how did you come to find out about this monster and why do you think your friend is in danger."
"Well I heard about the monster from the fillies at school. As for my friend every night when she looks out her window she sees a pony wearing a white smiling cat mask. It has eyes like a doll would have, every night it gets closer, closer, closer and closer. I'm starting to hear music and voices in my head it's really scaring me." Babs body started shaking as if the figure was there in the room with her. "I could hear him calling me Babs... Babs ... Babs come here. When I first saw him he was clear down the street for may house, but ever night it got close.A week ago it was across the street and now its right it's front of my bedroom window " Tears started to run down Babs eyes when she started whimpering. "I want to play...come play... with me."
"Cherry come in here" Spade yelled. A couple of seconds later the door opened to a beautiful redheaded mare with a White coat."Please take care of Babs for a second until me and miles get done talking." Cherry took Babs outside well Spade took off his hat and brushed his black mane. Spade pulled a knob in the front of his desk. An instant later one of the pictures on his desk was replaced with a phone. He then started dialing a number on the mysterious phone.
“Hi boss I need you to send out a bunch of our investigators to check on a rumor that’s going around that there is a monster in the sewers of Manehatten. I need you to get your best stallions on the job right away. Yes boss I do have an idea where you should look. Start in the schools that’s where you’ll have your best luck” Spade said hanging up the phone.
"Don't tell me you’re actually taking the filly seriously Spade" said Miles taking off his own bowler hat.
"Of course Miles you know what I always say about solving cases Miles" Spade said.
"There a lot of wasted time and effort" Miles said questioningly.
"No there all solved by just mere chance" Spade said.
"I don't follow you" said Miles.
"Look think of every big case that anyone has ever solved. Lot's of detective say they did it by science or there own smarts like there some kind of genius or something. The truth is it's by chance that they figured it out not because they’re smart. I mean what really sets detectives apart when they figure out the routines of their job. It’s really by chance by taking leads that no one else would have other wise taken and finding out that their actually right." said Spade.
"So you’re saying when all possible out comes are wrong the impossible is the truth " Miles said. "I think that's Colten Doyle book"
"No fuck Colten Doyle and his book he uses impossible logic and way to much deductive reasoning. I'm staying I know how to solve any case because I know what it really takes to solve it in the end." Spade said as he put his hat on.
"You really called the boss on this?"
"Yep told him to ask around the school area about a rumor about a monster. If there’s one then there might be something to this masked monster Babs is talking about."
"So you believe her, but don't go to the crime scene."
"Tell me Miles did you find anything at the crime scene."
"Well no, um but" Miles said tripping over his words.
"Do you think I or anyone else would have found anything?"
"Well no, but."
"So it's the exact same as the last two."
"Well yes I guess so."
"Then why do I need to go there when there's another lead I can go check out."
"What about the family members don't you want to talk to them in person?"
"No we're an agency we have special ponies to ask though’s questions. If there was anything there we would know by now. God I've been working with you for years and you still are playing beat around the bush." said Spade as he put on his trench coat.
"Wait what about me what am I supposed to do if your going to go off with that kid?"
"I'll message you if I need anything. See ya big guy" said Spade as he closed the door. Miles just stood there with his mouth open.
"I guess I'll go get something to eat then" Miles said as he put on his pea coat and bowler hat and walked out the door.

Babs waited in her room quietly in horror as she started to cry. She couldn't believe that no one believed her. Apparently everypony they asked from every school around Manehatten has never even heard of the monster. She felt helpless and alone. Looking out her window she started to see something. It was moving slowly and it had a cats mask on, but this time everything was turning black and white around her like there was some type of great magic at work. Blood was pouring out of the figures eyes and all over the red cloak he was wearing. Then she started to hear it call her name in her own head. "Babs... Babs... Babs ...come play ...come play ...come play with me." She quickly went into her closet and closed her eyes. Until she stopped hearing the voice.
She looked out of the closet everything was black and white still, but it was quiet. Babs looked out the window and saw no sign of the blood covered pony. She took a deep breath and then turned around. She then screamed as she saw something move, but it was just her bed curtains moving in the wind. Suddenly the door to her room was kicked in with a loud bang. Babs quickly hid under her bed. She could hear his footsteps. She then started to hear it's voice again "Babs... Babs... come OUT You little whore!" Then at that very second the bed flew up into the air showing the dark pony with the mask. She looked into his eyes and saw spiders and maggots start coming out of the holes where his eyes should be. With a great roar he shouted. "We’re going to play a game little filly where I'm going to rip every part of your body apart and make it into a nice soup. Then when I'm done I'm going to fuck your cold lifeless body. We think it will taste heavenly." the figure started to laugh. Babs tried to run, but it was useless. Five bloody arms came out from underneath the monster’s blood red cloak and wrapped around her body as she screamed for her life.
"Where is Babs I can't see her in the house" Miles said to the leader of the guards in the bushes outside of babs house.
"What no you can't mean, oh shit" the guard said yelling the order to attack as he waved his arm. Giving his men the order to break into the house and find the filly. They quickly ran up to her room and saw that she was gone. How long she was gone they didn't know, but they quickly sent out a search party for the filly.
Earlier that Day
"Go home Babs your fine there is nothing out to get you. Today you wasted a lot a valuable time when I’m here trying to find a real killer on the loose."
"But I'm telling the truth there is something out to get me. Why won’t anyone believe me." Babs said crying her eyes out in front of spade.
"Guard take miss seed home" Spade said as one of the guards walked up to Babs and started to take her home; carrying the crying filly with tears running down her face.
Spade then went to the nearest pay phone in Manhatten and then called Miles. “Hey Miles I need you to shadow Babs with a few of your colts for the next couple of days. No, but god dammit Miles just do it alright. Spade hung up the phone.
The fact was that Babs was right. In the past couple of hours the agency had found out that there was a rumor of a monster in Manehatten by talking to a few of the kids in the schools. However the only place anypony would hear about them would be in a kindergarten. Where the teachers and parents never believed the stories of the monster from the fillies.
The only fillies who believed in the monster were the ones who seen it themselves or those who seen their friends disappear after talking about it. It was strange that nearly all of these families didn't remember having any kids. Which confirmed one of his suspicions Spade had about the killer in the beginning. One thing was for sure though the killer was going to pay for his crime with his life one way or another.
Spade then headed down the block into the deepest part of downtown Manehatten. Spade then entered the old antique shop on the corner of Luna lane and Pegasus drive. The old shop keeper then greeted Spade as he entered the door to his shop.
“Hello my friend I see you’re still in good health” the old pony said cleaning off his front desk with a rage.
“I’m fine just here to check up on my caster” Spade said.
“Oh, yes I’m still working on fixing it. The end of the barrel is still broke, but you can take a look at it.” said the shopkeeper as he went under his desk, grabbed a large rectangular box, and placed it on the top of the desk. Spade then opened the box and took out the double barrel shotgun that lied inside of it. He then put his hoof through the large trigger guard. Which fit through perfectly as he placed his hoof on the equally large trigger and aimed it at the wall. “I don’t see very many of those. At least not sense they have been outlawed in every single nation for being too dangerous”
“Have you manage to find anypony willing to make caster shells”
“No I haven't and before you ask I don’t have anymore you bought me out weeks ago.”
Spade then noticed that one of his valuable antiques was gone. “What happened to the red alicorn amulet you had sitting in that glass jar” Spade said.
“Oh, that thing some strange mare bought it from me a week ago and gave me a whole lot of bits for it.” the storekeeper said.
“Do you know who she was and what she looked like.”
“Oh, no it was hard to see her and she didn’t give her name. Why do you think she did something bad with it?” the storekeeper said.
“No, but If she does I want to know as much as I can. That amulet is no good I can’t believe you sold it Lee.”
“Well it was a hell of a lot of bits you understand.”
“Come on Lee you know that half of this crap in this shop is illegal and if it’s ever traced back to you you’ll be in handcuffs” Spade Said putting his hoof over his face in disbelief. “I mean my god where will I get my caster shells from then; for Celestia sake you're the only supplier I got.”
“Well thanks Spade it’s great to know we’re such close friends” the shopkeeper said with a smile. “By the way Spade how did you brake your gun in Canterlot in the first place?”
"Well you see Lee" there was suddenly a knock on the door.
"Oh, fuck my life, Spade get behind the desk." Spade did what the shopkeeper told him to do as three griffins kicked the door in. Spade took one glance at them and knew where they were from.
“What the hell Lee you’re have problems with the griffin mafia now!”
“Well yeah, who do you think buys most of my products anyways, the tooth fairy?”
“Well the tooth fairy doesn’t put you into a body bag Lee”
“Get the fuck out here old pony we have to talk about the swords you sold us” the griffins started to tear up the place. As they started to walk closer to the desk they hid under. Spade then looked at the busted barrel of his shotgun and had an idea.
“Hey do you have a hack saw”
“Yeah, it’s in the back, why do you ask?”
“I’ll be right back”
“Wait”, but it was too late. Spade left into the back room as the old shopkeeper sat there helpless as the griffins got closer to him. Until one of them finally looked over the desk and saw him.”
“Well, Well what do we have here” the griffin then pulled him out from underneath his desk. As the other two then walked over to him. Laughing at the helpless pony shake as they got closer to him. “Thought you could trick us did you. Thought you could fuck with the griffins well you were wrong.” The griffin then heard a loud click as he felt a steel object touch the back of his head.
“Put him down you mother fucker” said Spade pointing his shotgun at the back of the griffins head. The griffin looked at the gun a little amused.
“What the fuck is that suppose to be”
“I’ll show you” Spade then fired off one of the barrels of the shotgun as a bright light consumed the room. When the light faded the griffin’s head was blown completely off. His body then collapsed to the floor in a puddle of blood.Spade then pointed his shotgun at the other two griffins. They stood there shocked looking at their friends dead body.
“What, what is that thing?”
“Shut the fuck up” said Spade pointing the gun at the griffin.
“Look we were just doing our jobs you really don’t need to kill,” but it was too late Spade fired off another round out of the barrel of the caster. This time a bright blue light shot out as the whole room around them turned cold.
“What the fuck... what the fuck did you do to him!” yelled the last griffin as he ran over to his partner. He touched his cold lifeless body as it stood there frozen in ice. Spade then walked over to the body and kicked the griffin’s corpse with his hind legs. Causing his body too shatter as it hit the ground. Spade then open the brake barrel of the gun and loaded another round into it. He then turned the barrel to the last griffin as he shook in fear.
“Please, please don’t I’ll do anything”
“You’re right you won’t” Spade then fired the gun again causing a huge ball of fire to shoot out. The griffin then started to scream in pain as the flames burned his flesh from his bones.
“Fuck, oh fuck why...the pain” the griffin screamed in pain.
His body then fell to the ground motionless. As the flames slowly died down on his burned lifeless body.
“Did you really have to kill all of them Spade?”
“Of course I did if I let them live they would have went to their boss. Then both of us would have the whole dam griffin mob after us. Anyway why do you care they were about to kill you Lee?”
“Yeah, I know I’m just not use to seeing death I guess.” Lee then noticed Spades shotgun. “You cut off the barrel I see”
“Yeah, I couldn't think of anything else”
“Well, give it here I’ll make sure that you didn’t damage it, while cutting the end off.” Spade then gave the gun to the old storekeeper as he started to look it over. Spade then looked at the three dead griffins a little worried.
“By the way Lee what are you going to do with these bodies?”
“Oh don’t worry about it I know a friend that works with the Longma that gets rid a bodies.”
“What the hell Lee a you getting involved with every gang in this city?”
“Well, in my business it’s bound to happen”
“Can I at least ask who this pony is that takes care of the bodies for the Longma”
“Why do you want to know”
“I was hoping it will give me a lead”
“I don’t think”
“Come on Lee I just saved your ass”
“Well,... Fine they call him the butcher thats all I know. My contact takes care of the rest”
“Can I have the contact?”
“Hell no if they ever found out that I was friends with somepony like you I would be dead.”
“OK fine just calm down” Spade then change the subject back to his gun. “How does it look?”
“I don’t know I’ll have to look at it later, but in the meantime you need to get out of here so I can get rid of the bodies.”
“Fine, I get it, I’m going” Spade then turned and started walking out of the store.
“Great I’ll have to talk with my contacts and find him then. Oh, god and the only contact I have that knows the Longma is...her.”
Spade stood outside as he waited for his contact as it started to rain. Then he saw her with her blond hair and her turquoise coat. “Lightning Dust glad to see you could make it. Do you have the information I need?”
“Yeah, I got it Spade, but this makes us even you understand”
“Sure, whatever you say Lightning. Now where and who is he?”
“He is a dragon who lives in the deepest part of the dragon district. He works at a restaurant called the Rising Sun.”
“Great I should hurry then.”
“What, you’re going are you crazy you’ll be ripped apart as soon as you step foot in the dragon district.”
“Oh don’t worry you’re coming with me Lightning Dust.”
“What, oh hell no you’re on your own with this one Spade.”
“Fine I’ll figure something out then” Spade then started to walk off.
“You’re going to get yourself killed.”
“I know” Spade laughed.
On the edges of manehatten there is a spot where dragons setup there shops. Mostly it’s for selling their drugs though. Spade walk through the streets in his... “Camouflage”. Until he reached the restaurant the Rising Sun. The old building looked more like a sweatshop than anything else. He went in through the back. As he entered the chefs working in the kitchen stared at him.
“What do you want ugly.”
“I need some help to get rid of some dead bodies.”
“Why don’t you just eat them you fucking idiot you’re a dragon.”
“Yes, I am, but it’s for a client not me.”
“Oh, you are one of those middle guys then. Well, I guess I could use the extra bits. How many bodies are there?
“Three bodies”
“Three huh... OK well it’s going to cost at least fifty rupees then”
“OK I’ll get them when I bring the bodies here”
“Fine whatever”
“Can I ask you something?”
“No, you either do your business or get the fuck out before I kill you, you ugly fucking dragon!” the chef then through his knife at him. Spade took that as the signal to leave.
Spade left a kitchen hopeless “dam Another dead end” he thought. He then saw a homeless dragon sitting on the corner of the street outside of the Rising Sun. He had only one wing and had no legs. He must have been an outcast. Spade then walked up to the dragon.
“Got any jewels friend?”
“Maybe, but only if you answer my questions”
“Sure anything for some jewels”
“Good, you wouldn’t happen to have noticed anything strange going on at the Rising Sun when you’re sitting here do you?”
“Like what?”
“Like have you ever seen any strange newcomers wearing a mask?”
“A cat mask you mean?”
“Yeah that’s it, do you know him?”
“No, but that guy is really creepy. For the past couple of years now he has been going in and out of the Rising sun almost every month.”
“Is he a dragon?”
“No, he’s not a dragon. Some think he might be a unicorn since he can use magic.”
“How do you know that he can use magic?”
“Well, one time a couple of dragons tried to attack him. Since it’s dragon territory and all they didn’t like it that some pony was on their turf. When they attacked him they all were ripped limb from limb. Other dragons were planning to kill him, but they stopped when the stranger started dealing with the Rising Sun. Of course some groups tried to attack the pony, but they all meet the same fate as the others before them.”
“Why do some dragons think he isn’t a unicorn?”
“Well, it’s because he eats meat. Ponies don’t eat meat.”
“I see... Thank you for your time if I have anymore questions I’ll come back.” Spade then took out a sapphire and gave it to the homeless dragon.
“Hell yes!” said the dragon as he ate the sapphire.
Spade then walked down the street into a local bar. The place was empty and the bartender was just setting up for the long night ahead. Spade took a seat at the bar as the bartender walked up to him. “What will it be friend?” said the bartender ready to get Spade something to drink.
“I need information.”
“Oh, well that’s going to cost you my friend. What kind of information are you looking for?”
“The Rising Sun”
“What about them?”
“Tell me everything you know about there underground business in getting rid of evidence”
“Oh...that well that is going to really cost you”
“I know and I’ll pay for it”
“Yeah, and possibly with your life”
“That’s fine just give me the info”
“Well, the Rising Sun gets rid of bodies by selling the meat of the bodies in their restaurant. As you can imagine they keep their bodies in their meat locker. Which is guarded around the clock? The bodies are mostly from rival gangs that the Longma is getting rid of, but if you’re willing to pay for it you can get rid of any of the dead there. Does that answer your question?”
“Yeah here is your pay” Spade then took out three large gems and put them on the table.
“Thank you sir you have a nice day”
“You to”
Spade then left the bar and quickly went down the street and went through the back of the Rising Sun again. The chefs were hard at work cutting up the meat. Which now he knew was some pony from around manehatten. One of the chiefs saw him entering the door. “Hey what the fuck are you doing back here?”
“Oh, sorry I was wondering if I could buy some of your fine product”
“Buy our product?”
“Yes, fine sir, I would like to buy some of your pony meat so I can have a get together this weekend”
“What about the ponies you have already?”
“Oh those, you misunderstood me. I have griffin meat, I want pony meat.”
“Well, I guess you could if you payed for It. I’ll be right back”
“Wait I want to see the meat my self”
“What, why”
“Because I’m a very picky eater”
“Oh you gotta be fucking me” the dragon then rubbed his eyes a little angrily. “fine come with me then” the chef then led Spade into the back of the room. There were two large dragons standing on each side of the door to the meat locker. “Ok boys let us in we got business with the butcher”. One of the dragons then open the door to the locker. As Spade entered he saw bodies everywhere hanging on meat hooks.
Spade then heard a sound coming from the center of the room “Chop... chop ... Chop... chop”
In the center of the dimly lit white locker room Spade could see there was a large dragon with a bloody cleaver in his hand. When they walked over towards him he stopped his work on dismembering the body. Which had every limb cut off, but the head.
“Hi, Butch this guy wants to by some of your... meat” the dragon didn’t answer the chef. He just turned his head and went back to chopping up the ponies body he was working on. The chef then looked back at Spade.
“Um, yeah Butch really doesn’t talk much. Just find what you want so we can get the fuck out of this hellhole, they call a meat locker.
Spade then looked around the bloody locker room. He could tell many bodies from every type of species in Equestria were there. Walking through the many bodies Spade soon found a young filly hanging from one of the meat hooks. Her eyes looked sad and without hope. Spade saw that she had a tag on her ear that said Manehatten Mental Institution. Spade then looked at the chef and pointed to the lifeless filly. The chef then ripped her body off the meat hook and through it to the butcher. “Ok you picked what you wanted, now wait outside until butch is done, I’ll come and get you then.”
Spade didn’t wait around for the chef. He quickly left the Rising Sun and headed to the nearest pay phone, to tell the agency what he found there.
Spade walked to the park that was down the street from his office and saw the old blind pony feeding his birds like usual. He sat on the bench next to him.
"So you getting close yet Archer" He said waving his cane at Spade.
"I think that he is a unicorn, but who he is I haven't the slightest idea. I was about to head to Manehatten Mental Institution to see if I might find a clue. However even if they did have something it doesn't guarantee us anything"
"Well you know what I always say"
"Yeah, yeah almost every great case is solved by chance I know that's my line Boss"
"Which you took from me" Boss said.
Manehatten Mental Institution was one of the creepiest places in all of Equestria. It was full of some of the craziest and most dangerous ponies Equestria has ever seen. It mainly looked like a hospital just with bard up and padded rooms. The staff was also really creepy. He walk to the front desk of the hellhole they called home.
"Hello may I help you" the old nurse said.
"Yes can I see the director please" said Spade."It's about urgent business"
"Just one moment" the nurse said. There was a slight pause until a voice said" Bring him up".
"Ok follow me" said the nurse.
Spade proceeded through the old rusty doors one by one. On the way Spade saw ponies running into the walls of their cells. Trying to cut themselves with their nails, screaming at the top of their lungs and some things better left unsaid. He was truly in a whole new world of hell. After climbing up some stairs to the top floor he finally made it to the directors office. The nurse left Spade as he entered the room. The room was dark and gloomy. There were many medals and awards on the wall. In the middle of the room was a huge desk. As Spade entered the director turned around in his chair and greeted him with a smile.
"Hello" said the gray unicorn cleaning his glasses as he got up from his chair.
"Hello my name is Archer Spade, I am leading an investigation looking for a murderer. Has any of your patients escaped or left in the past few months. If so could you please tell me if anyone of them unicorns?"
"No sorry not here in Manehatten Mental Institution. We never had an escape and we have the more hopeless causes so no one ever leaves."
"Well that's just great I got a dead end" Spade thought now out of ideas. He started to leave the room until he spotted something on the wall. It looked like some crazy type of mask. "Hey director where did you" Spade wasn't able to finish his sentence. Sense there was a great pain erupting from his head and it caused him to fade into unconsciousness.

"Help, help me oh, for the love of god save me" said a voice.
"Ha, ha, ha come on you don't like my toy" said another voice.
Spade opened his eyes he was in a cage which was in a very dark room with two dim red lights. Outside of the bars he could see Bebs hanging from a chain with deep cuts and the director in a red cloak with a straight razor cutting Babs as she spun around. He laughing at the top of his lungs. "If i ever get my hooves on you I'll kill you you fucking creep" Spade yelled."How dare you do this to young fillies."
"Oh and how are you going to do that locked up and with broken legs" the director said with a smile as he then started to laugh at him. He looked down both of his legs which felt numb. "I think it's time to get dinner started" the unicorn walked over to the fire laughing as he licked Babs body. "mmmm you’re going to taste good I can tell".
At that moment Spade saw his hat on the other side of the cell. "Perfect" he thought as he rolled over to grab it. He then reached inside and ripped out a the lining of the hat. Then he took out some explosive wire, some clay explosive, and a mini bomb. He quickly wrapped the bars of the cell with wire. Then putting the wire in the keyhole and put the clay on top of it. He then took his lighter out of his vest and lit the fuse.
A few seconds later there was a explosion ripping the door off the his cell and causing Spade to be deaf temporarily. The director herd the explosion right away and ran towards Spade in a rage induced panic, but he was ready for him with his last explosive. The psycho unicorn ran through the door. Spade drew his weapon lit it and through it at the unicorn. Spade then quickly took cover in the corner of the cell.
Spade heard another loud bang. He opened his eyes to see lots of smoke and dust. Lying in the center of the room was an unconscious unicorn. He crawled to his motionless body and grabbed his razor on the floor with his mouth and then cut into his carotid artery as hard as he could.
Spade saw the blood rush out of the unicorn as his body started to make a puddle of blood around it’s self. Spade was only angry that he couldn't make him suffer before he killed him, but he needed to get out of there. His legs were broken and he needed to get Babs out of this hellhole. Spade slowly started to crawl out of the dark cell thinking to himself. “fuck now I’ll need to buy a new hat again.”
Two weeks later
It was early morning in Manehatten the sun was just about to come up. Spade was reading the paper and on the front cover was a him in the hospital. Someone then opened the door to his hospital room and a bunch of ponies he never met before came in and started to hug him and kiss him. They started giving him apple products left and right. Products like applepie, apple cobbler,apple dumplings, and of course apples. Then he saw Babs all covered in bandages.
"Oh, hi Babs this all for me"
"Of course it is we apples have to thank you for what you did for me" Babs said giving him a big hug.
“Well you didn’t have to it was my job to find that creep. If anything I should be thanking you for giving me the only lead we had on him. Because he was a unicorn he always used magic to wipe the crime scene clean and give us false clues.” Spade said patting her on the head.
“Does that mean I’m like a real detective” said Babs looking at Spade smiling with puppy dog eyes.
“Of course kid your a great detective in fact take this” Spade took his hat and placed it on Bab’s head.
“Ha, ha, ha look Applebloom I’m a real detective” Babs said to her cousin.
“What no fare I want to be a detective too” said Applebloom as they started to argue about something about cutie marks. Spade wasn’t really paying attention to the two fillies something in the room really caught his eye.
Spade then saw a really hot mare from Babs family in the room and decided to reach around to pop a little feel. She didn't like that very much and the next thing he saw was her hoof flying into his face. Spade then saw that there were then lots of stars suddenly all around him. The last thing he heard before fading into darkness was "um, Applejack why did you..."

His name was Gray Star he was a unicorn born into a abusive home in the slums of Manehatten. Where he was then separated from his parents at a young age and taken to a boarding school in the griffin kingdom. There griffins abused him as well because he was different. When he was younger he started to torture small animals with his magic whenever he got the chance. That’s why his magic got so good. Having lots of practice over many years by hurting living things as test subjects must help learning spells. Especially ones that torture and kill.
When he grew older he stepped up his torture to living ponies. That’s why he started to work at the Manehatten Mental Institution and then worked his way up the ladder. He did sick tests on his patients there. Then with his wife and then his foals. They never said anything about what he did until he died. Spade couldn’t think of all the victims Gray Star tortured over the years as he looked down at his grave. He then spat on the gravestone of the sick pony he killed and walked away.

When Spade got back to his office. Miles already had everything packed for their trip.
“Ready Miles.”
“You know it, but are you sure you’re up to it. This one sounds pretty dangerous Spade.”
“Yeah, I’m feeling fine now that I got my gun back” Babs then entered the room to Spades office.
“Oh hi little one what are you doing here?”
“What, well Spade told me that I could stop by anytime I want”
“Really, he never tells me that I can drop in.” Babs then saw there bags and train tickets on Spades desk.
“Where are you two going?” Babs said turning to Spade.
“To Ponyville for some business”
“Really can I come along, my cousin Applebloom lives in Ponyville”
“I really don’t think it’s any place for a filly like yourself” said Miles.
“But”
“Miles is right Babs you don’t want to be in Ponyville right now it seems to be very dangerous”
“But”
“No buts you’re staying here ” Spade and Miles then grabbed their bags and left for their train.
Babs then smiled as they left “if they think they’re just going to leave me here they have another thing coming. Babs then picked up the phone on Spades desk.
“Hello Manehatten Train station when is your next train to Ponyville?”

Well what do you guys think of Spade and the story? Should I make more? Or do I just suck? I was going to read through it once more, but said to hell with it. I hope someone like it. I wound have gotten a proofreader, but I seem to have a hard time communicating with them. So yeah I did my best.
the weird parts of the story are me trying to copy stephen king horror writing.
The caster gun is from outlaw star and the beginning I took out of watchman a tired to make it my own.
I also tried to make spade a little hard boiled and took him out of my favorite mystery book the the maltese falcon. However I feel like I didn't come close in portraying him.
Oh the whole bomb in the hat thing is from wild wild west. So yeah
