OC Backstory

He wielded an old oaken wand, carved on to it are hoops and loops that spell out the letter, "E". "E" for elusive, "E" for "extraordinary", E for "Elementisimo", for that was his name. His friends used to call him "Elly, or just "E" for short. He was a sorcerer from the days of old. He performed many feats, grand and great, on that bar of wood, bequeathed to him through a royal order. He was a brilliant young colt, so full of cunning and wit. He pulled pranks in magic school over his peers and instructors alike. He was rather brilliant and subtle in his acts, always choosing to end with finesse rather than practicality.

Yet when duty called, his attitude grew more serious. Colts enrolled in the school for gifted unicorns were obligated to serve their nation in times of crisis. When the first rise of Discord prompted Celestia to raise her hoof, he was there to serve his princess. He had one trick up his sleeve, though, a dear friend since childhood by the name of Starswhirl. They were more than friends, they were comrades in war, scholarly colleagues, and partners in crime and pranks. In the heat of the crisis, together they helped architect the most powerful magic known to ponydom. He titled its manual, "Elements of Harmony: A Reference Guide," the elements partially named after him.

After the time of war, society grew peaceful and prosperous. Starswhirl had settled down. Yet Elementisimo grew more and more obsessive as he delved more and more into his research. The time spells that he and Starswhirl had discovered not only could freeze objects in stones of time, they could trap objects in loops of time. One day, in the laboratory, a strange accident involving a magical bookmark backfired. The original spell was meant to move the lines in the book, rather than move the bookmark itself, as the reader flipped through a book. The spell instead backfired and struck Elementisimo. He fell unconscious in the lab, found only days later by a visiting Starswhirl.

After the accident and the four months of hospitalization, Elementisimo discovered that he had stopped aging. Years pass by and Starswhirl became Starswhirl the Bearded, the two friends started to grow old together. Though Elementisimo stopped aging, his memories continued to fade. He grew more senile and obsessive. However, his wit was as sharp as shrapnel and his mind as crisp as hay fries. He started to forget the days of old, of war, camaraderie, prosperity, and the unfortunate accident. He started to focus instead, on the present and the future: Who currently benefited him and who can continue to benefit him. He grew greedy, manipulative, and inconsiderate. One day, he left town, left Starswhirl, his oldest friend, and he never looked back. He said that Starswhirl was old, and no longer had any.. "utility value".

So he became known as a local legend in the town he and Starswhirl grew up in. And just as the town had rose to prosperity, it fell to despair and was abandoned. Its stone columns still outline the inner sanctuary of the Everfree Forest today, and Elementisimo was forgotten about, less than a legend or a lore, and just another casualty of time. Some say that he still roams the Everfree woods, like a ghost that keeps visiting the sites of regret, yet unable to remember why it feels that way.
