He was a kind man, and one who loved everything that was silly and “fun fun fun!”. He’s being silly by the way. He lived a simple life, consumed mainly of watching anime and socializing through the internet. He also made sure to make time to watch his very favorite television program, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. He adored this show and all of the wonderful, happy things that happened in it. He loved it so much that he even joined the ranks of the online community of fans, who called themselves Bronies. Poor Shai longed to live in a place like the pony’s world of Equestria, where he would have lots of friends to have fun times with. But that was that world, a fictional world, and this was the real world. A harsh, cruel world where a man could be killed in the ghetto, even if he was just trying to be silly. Little did little Shai know, his life was about to change forever. Shai was a very lonely man, who longed to have nothing but friends that he could make silly and magical memories with. He had even gone and bought a scrapbook to record all of his memories in with his future friends, but alas, the book was always empty. It wasn’t that he had a hard time talking to people (he always tried to be the most wonderful and friendly person he could be around other people), but for some reason, they avoided him and rejected his friendship. This made Shai a very sad man, but luckily for him, his sadness was about to end forever. On the morning of the day when it all changed, Shai woke up like any other morning. Get up, check Bronynet, eat breakfast, watch anime, check Bronynet, watch MLP, and watch silly videos until bedtime. “Boring, boring, BORING!” he said. “I can’t have an magical day if I don’t have anypony to have fun with hehe.” And so his day went on as usual, until the around the time he would normally eat dinner with his family. Suddenly, he heard a voice coming from the kitchen. “Shai-Dre! Come take out the trash please!” “NO WAY!!” Exclaimed Shai-Dre. “Shai-Dre! What did you just say?” “Hehe, I’m just being silly btw mom, of course I’ll take it out.” Shai-Dre grabbed the trash and brutally kissed his mum before walking out the door. As he stepped outside, he couldn’t help but notice how brilliant the night sky looked that night. “What an beautiful and magical night!” he said with glee. “It’s nights like these that make me want to have someone beside me...”. He sighed, and felt a wave of loneliness surge through him. Just before stepping back inside, he took one last, hopeful look at the stars. He noticed one that was shining unusually bright, and began reciting his wish: “Star light, star bright, first silly star I see tonight (I’m being silly btw), I wish I may, I wish I might, hear the wish I wish tonight.” As he finished this saying, he thought for a moment. “please, if you’re an real thing, take me away from this nasty and not quite silly place. Take me to an place where I can live in happiness and harmony with others like me...” He felt warm inside, and decided to go to bed. As soon as his head hit the pillow, he was out cold. When he woke up, he immediately looked at the clock. “Darn, how long was I in that magical and silly sleep?” he said, as he noticed the alarm clock read: 11:59. That was only about 4 hours since he decided to hit the hay. “Welp, there isn’t anything worth keeping my sleepy little self awake for.” he said as he began to get back into a sleeping position. He began to drift off into that dark place between sleep and consciousness, when suddenly, he heard a faint whistling sound. “What an strange sound” he thought as he listened closer. The sound increased in volume and intensity until the point where it started to hurt Shai’s ears. Just as he thought he couldn’t bear the harshness of the whistling any longer, the sound stopped. Shai waited for five seconds, then ten, and when it seemed as if things were calm again, there was a sudden bang that was so loud that it shook the foundations of his house. He immediately sprang out of his bed and ran out to join his shocked family in the backyard. What he was seeing was something that he didn’t Shrekspect. There, in the middle of his own backyard, was a flaming crater about the size of his room, and in this crater, there was a chrome object that looked like a capsule. “What on Earth is that silly object?” Shai asked his brother. “There’s nothing silly about this, Shai-Dre. We don’t know what that thing is. It could be dangerous.” “Stay back everyone, it looks like the capsule thing is shaking.” Said Shai’s father as he studied the mysterious object. Shai-Dre noticed what his father was warning them about. The object DID appear to be shaking very slightly. As Shai continued to watch, it seemed as if it were started to shake more and more violently with every passing second. The capsule seemed to have a mesmerizing effect on him, and he found that he couldn’t take his eyes off of it, no matter how hard he tried. Then suddenly, there was an incredibly bright flash of light. The light was so bright that he felts as if his eyes would melt out of his skull. When a winged silhouette stepped out of the object into the brilliance of the light. Shai-Dre looked around, and noticed the rest of his family was knocked out. He then focused on the object again. “Shai-Dre Dillard! You will come with me immediately. The fate of our world rests on your cooperation!” Shai felt his body being dragged towards the silhouette until he couldn’t fight back. The last thing that Shai ever saw on Earth were the unconscious bodies of his family, before drifting into a deep sleep...
