The reflection in the pond... my white coat... blonde curly mane, and dark brown eyes it was most certainly me

Growing up in canterlot, being tutored by the princess herself even if I’m not her most talented student and even if it’s only a few lessons a month it’s still amazing, and now that twilight is on assignment in Ponyville maybe the princess will have more time to tutor me directly. Quite frankly I’m not sure why celestria didn't just have me and twilight study together I suppose I would have only slowed them down, and besides twilight never seemed the most... sociable. However that hadn't seemed to be the case especially now that Luna's returned she’s already had to cancel this week’s lesson, but it’s only been two days so I suppose it’s too soon to draw any conclusions on the matter.

"Hey Apollo” the Pegasus guards pony startled me being deep in thought i didn't notice his approaching

"The princess asked me to come find you she's requested your presence at the castle"

"Oh... really?!" my voice filled with a mix of curiosity and excitement

"Yup you'd better hurry wouldn't want to keep her waiting" without waiting for response he took flight witch suited me just fine allowing me to express my excitement openly.(jumping around like a foal any squeeing like a fangirl)

i shouldn't waste any time if not for the princesses sake then for my own another second of anticipation and i may just burst. The princess requested my presence me! i had to get there a.s.a.p. I guess I’ll use my newly learned teleportation spell it'd been working okay well most of the time anyways there was of course that incidence at Joe’s doughnut shop last week, but what the hay what’s the worst that could happen. (I later found out very bad things could happen when you're not skilled in teleporting like being severed in half of winding up in a wall)

"uarhhhhhhhh" 'thud' Ouch that kinda hurt *note to self ,one does not simply teleport into rooms with high ceilings.*

"There you are Apollo haven't quite mastered the teleportation spell I see" the princess spoke softly with a hint of a teasing tone in her voice Luna sat beside her laughing without resistant and I felt my face reddening. This being the first time I've seen Luna up close I realized she was actually quite beautiful. She was not quite as tall as her sister and possibly even an inch shorter than myself I am a rather tall stallion however.

I realized my mind was drifting again and forced myself back reality

"Hello princess" I said as I took an awkward bow

"Please Apollo as I've told you need not bow every time you address me."

"Right I’m sorry" I stammered avoiding full eye contact

"Don't be its quite alright I assure you. Now as I'm sure you've noticed I am accompanied this morning by my sister Luna" she guested too Luna who was still giggling "Luna this is Apollo he is a student of mine"

"It is a pleasure to meet you Apollo" Luna said still smirking

"Thank you princess Luna however the pleasure is all mine" oh my god I can believe I just said that I'm such an idiot to have let such a vile clique spew from my mouth. *face hoof*

"hahaha" "quite the charmer we have here huh? Sister? Luna teased

celestria gave her sister a sharp look

Luna’s personality was very different than what I expected she was actually quite funny a lot less serious than she appeared in public. Perhaps if everypony knew this she would appear a lot less frightening to them and the whispers and cautions looks would be culled.

"Please princess no need to stick up in my defense the fault rests upon me for using such a clique" Luna smiled and celestria nodded signifying her consent on the matter

"Anyways you are probably wondering why you are here Apollo" celestria said on an attempt to get things back on track.

Instead of wasting words and risking the possibly embarrassing myself again I simply nodded.

"well as you may know Luna has been gone for a thousand years and in that time equestria has changed...significantly I would like you to bring her up to date on.. well everything. this will no-doubt be a full time job you will be paid a salary for your efforts. Oh and you will need to move into the castle I've already had your belongs moved to your new quarters"

"But how?.. Wait?.... what!?" I glanced at Luna who seemed less shocked than myself however it was clear she was also just now informed of this arrangement.

"That is all Apollo and unless you have any questions then you are dismissed"

"Well actually prin..."

"Wonderful I must leave now royal business to attend to and all. I suggest you and Luna get better well acquainted”"oh and Apollo your room is the one across the hall from Luna's" the princess said as she was walking out of the room so I couldn't protest or question anything.

Seeing her leave the room a million thoughts ran through my head most of which were along the lines of

'WHAT THE BUCK IS GOING ON' and why in hell did celestria want me of all people to help out Luna. maybe it was my name? but that didn't really make sense and the princess would never decide who would ... help.? a monarch just because their name kinda has to do with the moon. would she?

"Apollo if you are to be my....um...err...adviser yes that seems a fitting word, right?"

"yes i suppose its somewhat... accurate."

"well in any case you should go rest"

"Huh?? But it’s ten o'clock in the morning."

Luna giggled "you know far less of the moon then your name would imply Apollo." "Meet me at my room at sundown we have much to discuss" and with that she walked off
