Silver Mist's POV

_________________________________________________________________________________________

I trotted quietly down the streets of Manehatten, looking for this DJ who went by the name of DJ Pon-3. I really would adore living here, but the prices are too high and I'm too poor. I mean, I have a pretty good home, but it was under Dawn Light's and Dusk Night's name before they died. I sighed, continuing my adventure down the alley ways. I saw a group of guards chasing a mysterious cloaked pegasus pony down one of them when I heard a clank of something metal hitting the ground as the noise of the guards died down. I walked over to where I heard the mysterious sound, looking around carefully, scanning the premises for anything that looked rather unnatural to be in an alley way. I saw something shine, like metal when the sun hits it. I enveloped the object in my field of magenta unicorn magic and brought it over to me. I examined the object, for it to be a spade shaped necklace whom belonged to what seemed like a rather rich pony. Within the capsule lay a picture of a mother and father, accompanied by two sons. I cocked an eyebrow before tucking the necklace into my hoof-satchel, glancing at the direction the guards went. There was a thin trail of blood leading in that direction. When I looked up, I saw a harmed, white stallion pegasus atop of what seemed like a lavender colored roof, seeming panicked before he slid down it effortlessly. I heard galloping in the far distance and it eventually faded into nothing, the sound of other ponies chattering around me filled my ears about the cloaked pony as I looked up at the darkening sky. Luna's moon will be rising soon, I thought, trotting along the alleyways once more. And I don't want to be stuck out here with drug addicted ponies.

"Well, whoever that was, he must have dropped this. I hope he doesn't try and harm me when I decide to put up posters," I quietly said aloud as I returned to my search for the DJ Pon-3 my friend recommended for me. I looked from the many bars between the alleys, hearing loud music boom from underground raves. I've honestly never been to one. I've kept to myself since he died. I miss him. I thought sadly, looking at the flashy, neon signs reading OPEN. He used to take me to the highest mountain peek and teach me to fly. I was now looking up at the now dark sky, my gray coat barely shining in the light. My dark blue eyes traveled across the sky, looking at each star. I ended at the rising moon, tears forming in my eyes. I blinked them away and swallowed hard, keeping them back as I turned tail down the alley way and started back towards the entrance.

"I'm so lost. I don't belong in Manehatten. I'm just a nopony here," I sighed heavily before flapping my wings with sadness and a heavy heart before I lazily flew back to what I called home. Leaving behind a pair of my hoofprints alongside the mysterious colts. He looked a tad taller than me, according to his hoofprints. I shrugged it off, my mind unraveling many questions. Who was he? What was he doing here? Why were so many guards after him? Why did so many ponies chatter about him? Why was he injured? Was he in trouble? What'd he do? Is the necklace really his? I had no answer to these questions, for I did not know the stallion to answer them accurately or at all really. I kept flying home, barely hovering above the pale, moonlit ground below me. A short breeze caught my light green, purple, and black mane and blew it from my eyes, revealing them fully. I kept flying though, becoming less and less aware of my surroundings as I neared my light red home with the white roof. I pulled out my key card that you had to swipe to get into the well protected home area and walked in, closing the large gates behind me. I stopped flying, now just trotting unhappily to my home, my tail dragging behind me and head drooping. I stopped at my door and unlocked it, stepping inside with a sigh.

I trotted inside my familiar but also unfamiliar home, the many pictures of my parents and my filly self lining the walls. Very few of what I looked like now rest upon them, just a wall in the living room where my father put my pictures of my flying lessons above the television and the ones of my mother holding me in her forelegs after my birth. I added some more after I got my cutie mark but stopped as my depression worsened from them not being with me anymore. I slumped down on the couch, turning on the television to the news. The unicorn mare spoke in a reporters voice, "This just in, a young stallion was caught stealing from an apple stand in the market. He was injured by having an arrow shot through his right wing, but he still somehow escaped. He is wanted and if you have any idea on whom he is or where he could be found, please notify us immediately. Now, to Brisk Pace with the weather."

I sat up immediately. The stallion. Maybe that was him? I asked myself, my stomach growling. I put the news to the back of my head and turned to the music channel before trotting to the kitchen and making a celery and lettuce sandwich with a cup of sparkling water. I chewed my food slowly once I finished making it. I took a sip of my water and put my dish in the sink. I turned off the TV after hearing too much music and retreated up the stairs of my home. I sipped my water and stepped into my room, placing the water on my desk and sat down, sketching up the necklace and putting it in my scanning machine. I opened up my editing software and went to work, making posters to post around Manehatten for the lost necklace. I put in bold, capital letters at the top FOUND NECKLACE with the description of it below a picture I took and uploaded onto the page. I yawned, taking another sip of my water before adding my address printing out the finished design about fifty times. I put them in an organized pile and got up off my chair, trotting over to my bed and sitting down, kissing my hoof and pressing it against the picture of my mother and father. "Goodnight," I said with a small smile, finishing my water and laying down on my bed, pulling the blanket with my father's rain cloud with a lightning bolt in front of the sun cutie mark upon it, along with my mother's being a crescent moon with a fluffy cloud.

Snuggling up warmly, I looked out my window up at the stars. "I love you guys. Thank you for helping me," I spoke, yawning widely this time as my eyes closed idly and I started counting how many times I could make new songs, eventually ending up with the found necklace floating around in my mind, accompanied by the stallion and his family. The news report also followed, all of the thoughts coming together to form a theory to my thinking. I pushed it all to the back of my head, thinking of my family. I buried my face in my pillow, beginning to cry. "Why can't I have them back?" I sobbed, my tears soon coating the light blue pillow. Finally, after what seemed like hours, I fell asleep with dry tears coating my face, my dreams holding nothing but darkness for me tonight.
