Branded Steel was once a well acclaimed and accounted for stallions in the Crystal Empire. Strong, charismatic, easy on the eyes, what more could he have? Well Branded had thought the same thing, so he went for power. A few years before King Sombra's banishment, he had taken the young Earth pony under his wing, or rather horn. Ironically enough, the "Forever King" was banished to the Frozen North and had to wait out his imprisonment, but he conjured enough magic to not only take the entirety of the empire with him, but completely erase some of his cohorts from the time stream. Branded being on of them. Upon the Crystal Empire's return, all these members of the council returned too, only in different places across Equestria, and in different states of dementia. Varying from amnesia to schizophrenia and everything in between, having no contact with the outside world took it's toll. Branded had a lesser mental effect, and awoke with only amnesia and his name. Where will his adventures take him? What choices will he make? Will he become the war-hungry general he sought to be in the years before the banishment? Only time will tell…
