Prologue
"Okay Alphonse, you ready?”
"As I'll ever be, Brother!"
"Okay, then let's go!" Ed grins as he traces the final lines on the transmutation circle.
It's a miracle we got the stone, I can't believe that we just, well, found it... Ed thinks, But I can’t help but shake the feeling that something’s wrong. After all these years of searching, how did we just, find it?
"Brother? Are you okay?" Al calls from his position above the circle. "You look kind of... mad."
"Aw, it’s nothing, Al." Ed replies, "Let's get this party started!"
Ed and Al clap their hands together, and place them on the circle. It glows blue, and soon a purple smoke fills the room.
"Brother? What's happening?" Al calls, his voice thick with worry.
"I'm not sure Al, just hang on!" Ed manages to call back, muffled by the smoke that has surrounded him. Fuck! I thought we had it! What’s happening?
A white flash blinds the older Elric brother, and he slowly slips into unconsciousness, unaware of his younger brother's frightened calls from beside him.

"Oh man, my head..." Ed groans, sitting up after his impromptu "nap".
He blink a few times, adjusting to the scenery. In front of him is a large door with peculiar markings decorating it.
The gate.
He stands up slowly, and walks over to it. Suddenly, the door swings open and he feels himself being pulled inside.
As Ed peers into the blackness that lays before him, he can almost make out and arm and a leg.
"My limbs!" He shrieks, "It worked!"
But as he moves towards it, he feels his body yanked down.
No.. Wait, what? This isn't supposed to happen! Ed watches as his limbs and the exit become farther and farther away as he drifts towards sheer darkness. No... Stop! Come back! Al? Where are you? AL!
The light flashed again, and soon Ed feels himself losing consciousness again.

"Brother? No!" Al scream as the purple smoke engulfs Ed's body.
He looks down at his own armor, which is slowly being swallowed by the same thing that took his brother.
He calls to Ed again, but is suddenly overcome with a wave of nausea, for the first time in years.
What's going on? Why is this happening? Al's mind races as he slips into a sick sleep, and the last thing he sees was a bright white light.

Al comes to while lying on a floor and his head hurts like nothing else he's felt before.
He rubs it softly, running his fingers through his soft hair.
Wait.. fingers? Hair? Do I have my...?
Al looks down at his hands.
"Wha... Hands? No way!" Al squeals with joy and stands up. "I have real legs too! And hair? And, and," He touches his hands to his face. " A nose! And a mouth! And ears! And eyes! I hope Brother got his arm and leg back too!"
Suddenly a creaking sound snaps him out of his daze. Al turns around to see the gate behind him.
It's open.
"No....," Al says while backing away from it. "I don't wanna go in there. Please. Don't make me-Augh!" He screams as the arms shoot out and grabs him, sucking him in. Al quickly passes through Gate and he feels his body being pulled down into another white light.
Brother!

"Come on Spike, we've gotta hurry or else we won't be able to get to the castle in time!" Twilight barks at the little purple dragon who sits on the couch.
"Yeah, yeah..." He snarls back, getting up from his spot.
Twilight grabs him with her magic and the two gallop out the door, eager to get to the castle.
The various shops and ponies pass are just a blur, and Twilight's only focus is getting to the castle which lays deep in the heart of the Everfree Forest.
I know I felt something land in the castle! I'm not a crazy pony! I know it's in the castle, I just know it! Twilight thinks to yourself. Ah, we're near... She notices as she passes Zecora's hut.
"T..ww..i..l...ii...g..hhh...tttt...!. Slll..oooo...ww...dooowwww....nnn!" Spike squeals from his perch on Twilight's back.
She screeches to a halt.
"We're here."
She climbs the stairs of the castle, not even noticing Spike fell off, and braces herself for what may lay inside.
Dragon? No... too tiny.... Augh what was it?
She rounds the corner and peers into the room. When she sees what fell from the sky, she screams.
Lying on the floor were two ponies. That wasn't the problem.
The problem was that one of them was metal, and the other pony had two calves of metal.
What the buck are they? And where did they come from?

Luna wakes up in a flash from her slumber, panting heavily.
What was that? With that weird gate? What is happening?
She hears a knock on the door.
"Come in."
Celestia walks into the room and looks at Luna with a frightened look on her face. "You saw it too, Sister?" She asks in a surprisingly soft tone.
"Yes, my sister. It was very strange. I was in the body of somepony named Al... And if my guess is correct, you saw from the perspective of an Ed?
Celestia looks shocked at the suggestion. "Wha? How did you know?"
"Because this Al pony called his brother Ed." Luna says, pawing the ground. "Celestia, did you know they were.. they were.."
"Humans." She finishes for her.
"Yes sister. What do we do about it?" She asks, " And why did we see that? Why only that much?"
"Sister dear, I do not know." Celestia replied, while looking down on the ground. "But I feel that my student felt their presence too. I do hope she stays out of this...."

Waking up
From the perspective of Twilight Sparkle
You stand at the entrance of the room where you once fought Nightmare Moon, but now you stare into the room with a look of sheer confusion on your face for a different reason.
"Oh man, my head...." One of the ponies mumbled," Al?"
"I'm here brother.." The tin pony managed to croak out.
You gasp and back up into a wall. You knock over a piece of stone in doing so, and it lands on the ground with a solid CLUNK.
The pony with two metal legs stood up with great haste. "What was that? Who's there?" He calls at you, and upon seeing you he lets out a gasp.
Who is that? Is that a... unicorn? What? Why is she PURPLE? What the hell? The confused pony thinks to himself. He looks at the purple pony. Then at his tin brother who lays on the floor. upon seeing his new form he lets out a sharp cry.
Al was a tin unicorn?
"BAHHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHHAHAHHA! Look at you Al! You're a, a a unic-"
The tin pony stands up. "You are too, Brother!" He shoots back.
The pony with metal limbs looks horrified. He looks down at his hooves. "Wait, what? Why the hell am I a pony?"
"I'm not sure Brother! What did we do wrong? And why did we get sent here?" The tin pony sighs and looks at his hooves as well. "Wait! I'm metal again? What?" He sounds horrified.
"Al what are you talking about?" The other pony says, scowling at his new form. He turns to you. "Hey you. Who are you?"
"Uhm.. uh.. I'm.. uh.." You stammer, backing up.
"Spit it out!" The quarter metal pony screams at you.
"Brother! That is no way to talk to people you've just met who've done you no harm!" The tin pony tells his "brother". He turns to you. "I'm sorry about my brother...My name is Alphonse Elric and that is my brother Edward Elric. Pleasure to meet you."
You are quite taken aback by the pony's kindness. "Oh, well thank you Mr. Alphonse. But, I may ask, where are you from?" You ask, quite intrigued by the pony's armor.
The unicorn called Edward looks at his brother and nods. "We're Emestrians. Oh, and you can call me Ed." Ed points to the tin pony. "And you can call him Al." He looks at you, studying you. "And what about you?"
"I'm Twilight Sparkle." You say, staring straight at the little pony. You turn towards the larger tin pony. "So I take it you're the older brother?"
Al looks shocked. "Ummmh.. No. He's my older brother..." He says while pointing to the smaller, but incredibly angry pony called Ed.
Now it's your turn to look shocked. "But your so... small."
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU CALLING SMALL? JUST BECAUSE I'M TINY DOESN'T MEAN I CANT KICK YOUR ASS!" Ed rages at you.
Then he does the most peculiar thing. He claps his front hooves together, and slams them on the ground. And nothing happens.
You look at him with a strange look. "Was that supposed to do something?" You ask, incredibly confused.
"Brother! Your alchemy doesn't work!" Al cries out.
Alchemy... I know I've heard that word before...but where? You think to yourself. You look at Edward. He looks dejected, and confused.
CRACK BOOM!
The sky lights up with lightening, and rain starts coming down in buckets.
"Brother?" Al calls to Ed, "I want to go home..."
"My alchemy doesn't work... Why doesn't it work?" Ed mutters to himself, while getting drenched by the rain.
You look up at the sky and sees the lightening dance across the dark night. Then you glance at Ed. And then you notice something peculiar.
He's bleeding rather badly.
"You better come with me." You tell him. You turn to Alphonse. "You too."
They look at each other and shake their heads at you.
You sigh. "Look, you're bleeding. And as far as I'm concerned you have no magic, no food, no home and really no nothing.
One of the brothers starts to say something about someplace called York Island but you cut him off.
"I'm not going to hurt you. if anything, I can help you more than anypony else. i remmber you saying the word Alchmeny, and I think I have a few books on it. Just come with me, please. You'll freeze if you stay out here."
You knew you were taking a risk, but you did have the upper hand on them.
The two brothers look at each other and nod. "Okay." They announce in unison.
You smile and begins to leave the castle.
This one's gonna take a lot of explaining to Spike. You note, Wait, didn't Spike come out with me? Where'd Spike go? And another thing, why did they come with me so reluctantly? How peculiar.
As the group rounds the corner, you hear.. laughing?
Spike.
"Spike! Where are you?" You scream out in the castle. You can hear Ed and Al's hoofsteps behind her, so you slow down to let them catch up so they don't get lost... again. As you run outside, you freeze. There was Spike, sitting across from a giggling pony who was currently laughing at one of Spike's signature silly faces.
"Winry!" Ed and Al shouted from behind her," How did you get here?"
The blond maned pony stopped laughing and turned to look at the voices.
"You numbskulls!" She screams before throwing her wrench at Ed's head.
"Oww what was that for?!" Ed yelped back, jumping to his hooves.
"For sucking me into this mess!" She shouts back at the two incredibly scared looking ponies.
You glare at Ed and Al. "You didn't mention a Winry."
She gives Ed a menacing glare. "Didn't mention me, huh?"
"Twilight, this is Winry. She's from someplace called Risembool. Do you know where that is?" Spike asks.
"No Spike, it's not in Equestria. I'll explain when we get home." You say with a sigh.
"Oh. she's really nice. But she's a little afriad..." Spike says, looking at the pony who was now giving Al and Ed a death stare.
You sigh. What's one more guest gonna do? "Miss Winry, would you care to stay with us as well?"
The one called Winry turns and looks at you. "Oh yes please!" She says with the same enthusiasm as a young filly.
You smile and nod at the two brothers.
Boy, they do ever look nervous.
As you, Spike, Al, Ed, and Winry walk back through the forest, you can hear the group of new ponies bickering behind her.You look at Spike and nod at him. You listen to every word of their conversation, trying to understand them. After a few minutes of bickering, you realize you're getting no information. It's just senseless arguing.
Figures.
The walk home goes pretty smoothly until the group reach the end of the Everfree Forest.
"Twilight?"
"Yes Spike?"
"Um, we only have one extra space at the library."
"Good point Spike. I wonder where we wil-
"TWILIGHT SPARKLE!"
"Wha?" You look up into the sky.
"Princess Celestia?"
You hear a gasp from behind you.
Ed and Al shriek. "You! I saw you at the gate!" Celestia says, dumbfounded.

3rd Person
Edward watched as the so-called Princess Celestia descended from the sky. She looked horrifyingly familiar. But who was she? Edward thought quite quickly, And why did she see us at the Gate? And more importantly, how did she know what the gate was?!
The same exact thoughts flowed through Alphonse's mind.
"Mr. Edward Elric I presume?" Celestia said, while landing in front of him.
Oh come on, wings? What's next, a pony with wings and a horn? Edward thought, scowling at the figure before him. He studied her more carefully. Oh. he thought. She did have wings and a horn.
"Yeah, that's me," Edward snarled, staring down the regal figure before him. " What do you want?"
"I'm afraid you are going to have to come with us." Luna said, suddenly appearing from behind Celestia.
"Two of them?" Al gaped at the sight of the second alicorn.
Celestia turned to Twilight. "Did you not receive my letter Twilight? Or did you decided to disobey your teacher?" She said with a slight snarl.
Twilight backed up, unsure of what was happening. "P-p-princess?" She croaked out. Suddenly she was blinded by a flash of light, and had a bad headache. "Wha-what?" She looked around. She was in her library, tied up on the floor. Next to her was that one Edward and Alphonse called Winry. She was tied up too. What the buck? Twilight thought as she blacked out.
Meanwhile at the edge of the Everfree Forest, two unicorns were trying to figure out what had just happened. "She was, wha, she just, disappeared?" Ed choked out. He wasn't quite sure if he was more upset that Winry disappeared or that Twilight disappeared. I've just met her now and I feel like I've known her forever... He notes.
Suddenly Celestia stomps her hoof down, sending out a shockwave. "You two, come with me, now." She snarls at the two.
"Brother, what is happening?" Al asks him from his stance across the path.
"I'm not sure Al, just hang on and I'll figure out a way to get out of he-AGH!" Ed screams. Pictures of a bakery invade his mind, filling his every thought with the images of the room. Suddenly his horn starts to tingle, and it begins glowing.
"Al?!" Ed calls, now extremely worried. “What’s going on with my horn?" Suddenly everything transitions to white. He hears faint screams in the background, and his head hurts like, well, like fuck. "Al?" He calls groggily to the whiteness. "Where-d you go?” He calls, slipping into unconsciousness.
“Brother? No! What’s happening?” Al screamed at his brother who was being engulfed by a bluish haze, which seemed to begin at his brother’s horn. Al then heard a pop and his brother, metal limbs and all, had disappeared.
All he could do was stare. This wasn’t supposed to happen... I drew the array, I must have messed up! And now Brother and Winry are gone. And that nice girl named Twilight. We were supposed to have our bodies back by now! This is my fault... Al thought, while feeling depressed.
He looked up at the white alicorn. “You took my brother...” He said, glaring as best he could.
Celestia just smiled. “Oh no, your brother chose to teleport away from here. He fled from us,” She said with a queer smile, “and from you.”
Al backed up, horrified, “Brother would never do that!”
Celestia smiled again. “Are you sure?” She smiled even greater at the sight of Al shaking. “Are you sure that he doesn’t blame you for why you’re here? Are you positive?”
Al backed up into a tree, close to the edge of whatever form of tears he could cry. “Stop, p-please.”
The smaller alicorn emerged from behind Celestia and addressed her sister. “Sister, why are you acting this way? The colt has committed no crime.”
Celestia just stood and stared at the boy before her. Luna rolled her eyes and turned to the sobbing unicorn before her. “Get up child, we’re going to Canterlot.”
The tin pony cowered away and hid behind the tree.

Twilight groaned and sat up, her head hurting quite badly.
That tended to happen when the Princess turned into her own version of Nightmare Moon and used magic. Teleportation hurt.
Twilight sighed again. Ever since she was a filly, she noticed that whenever Equestria had, erh, peculiar “visitors,” Celestia turned into her own tamer version of Nightmare Moon. She wanted to cause pain, to destroy families at the seams. To rip apart the special bond friends share, and puncture it with 1000 knives. Luckily, Luna knew how to handle her. Twilight chuckled again and stood up, her back aching. As she rose, she felt something slide off her back.
Spike. Whoops.
Luckily the purple dragon was still blacked out, so Twilight picked him up and put him in his bed. She looked at the clock.
9:45 p.m.
Sheesh , Twilight thought to herself, how long have I been ou -”Woah!” Twilight yelled to herself, tripping over an unknown pony lying on her floor. She recovered from her fall quite quickly, and picked up a bat, ready to fight off the offending intruder.
“Oh man, my headdd...” The pony called.
Oh, it was just Winry.
The light grey sat up and flipped her choppy blond mane out of her eyes. She blinked at Twilight.
“Uh... Hello.” Twilight offered.
“Hey....” Winry said quite cheerfully, considering the circumstances. "What happened?"
"The Princess had a rough night." Twilight offers.
"Oh, i don't remember anything after I met you and Spike!" She adds, with genuine enthusiasm. " It's nice to finally meet you."
“It’s nice to meet you too” Twilight said, looking at the pony with a slight bit of confusion, considering Winry had picked up a wrench.
“So, you got any books on automail?"
What the buck is automail?

Edward groaned and rolled over. He was comfortable, and felt like he didn’t want to get up. So soft, he murmured to himself. Then from behind him, he heard giggling. Probably just Winry or Al or something.. He thought, rolling over to go back to sleep. Except there was no bed to roll over on. There was a 4-foot drop to the floor though.
Thump.
The giggling halted.
Edward groaned again and blinked a few times, but his vision was still blurred. “Al?” He asked the shape that stood above him. “That you? I didn’t know you had pink hair now..”
“Al?” A curiously happy voice called. A curiously happy female voice. “My names not Al. But it could be! Or Dal! Or Mal! or Pal! Or, hmm ooh ooh I know! Dal! Wait, I already said that....”
Edward blinked again, and his vision finally cleared. And what he saw staring at him he did NOT expect.
A pink pony with a bright pink mane was smiling at him, and on each side of her was a littler pony. A baby maybe? Ed considered. No time for that now. Just attack and run. Yeah, that’s it.
Suddenly his thoughts were interrupted by mad giggling. He shot up and almost tackled the guffawing pink pony when he realized what they were laughing at.
He was covered in flour from head to toe.
He nearly snapped right then. It would be so easy, no one would ever know who took the life of the precarious pink pony who laughed at his misfortune.
But when he saw the kids, they reminded him of what him and Al had gone through.
If that’s their mother , he thinks, than I don’t want to make them go through the same thing me and Al did .
Ed sighed and sat down again, his brain flooding with memories.
All old memories, until he remembered those form the day before.
Winry... Al.. .
The plan! Of course! Winry and Al took that unicorn and were going to grill her for information! And me coming her was somehow part of the plan! Yeah, that was it... Good old Al and Winry... But why can't I remember what the unicorn looked like? Or her name?
Ed looked up and saw the earth pony staring at him. Her mane was deflated at the sight of Ed’s saddened face. She looked down at her hooves.
“I’m sorry... “ She choked out, tears streaming down her pink face.” I didn’t mean to make you so sad...”
Ed felt heat rise to his cheeks. “No no it wasn’t you! It was, uh, my hoof! I stubbed it! Heh...”
The pony’s mane still lay flat.
Ed sighed. Why do I feel like I'm going to regret this? He thinks. “Hello, my name is Edward Elric. You can call me Ed.”
The pony’s mane slightly rose at that. “ My name’s Pinkie Pie. And you’re new here aren’t you....” She adds, her mane inflating slightly more.
“Yeah...” Ed replies, slightly cautious.
“Then we need to THROW YOU A PARRR-TAY!” She exclaims, her mane poofed back up to the normal size.
Ed just stared at the pony. No one had thrown him a party in years. Not since he was with her (his mom). And it wasn’t even his birthday.
Pinkie smiled at him. “You know Mr. Ed, there is something different about you... I can’t place my hoof on it..” She said with a devilish grin. “I know what it is!” She said, bounding off the walls with glee.
Ed laughed at her enthusiasm. “ Yeah, what’s that?” He asked, warming up to the party pony’s antics and hospitality.
“You’re so tall!”
Yeah, Ed was going to like his next few days here.

Alphonse sat in the cell waiting for the small alicorn to return from her meeting with her recovering older sister.
“578, 579, 580” He announced, throwing a rock at the wall for the 580th time.
“Where is she?” He asked himself.
“She is right here, and She has a name. It’s Luna.” The blue pony announced from behind him.
Al turned around to see her standing there, with her blue mane fluttering from behind her. She nodded at the guards who trotted over to Al’s cell and opened it.
“Come with me please.” She said, beckoning for him to follow her out the door. Once Al caught up with her, she started talking again. “I'm terribly sorry for your arrangements last night, but my sister would not rest unless you stayed in the cells. It seems that whenever some pony from another land visits, she changes into a rage filled demon who seeks to destroy the special bonds of love friends and families share.” Al listened silently, absorbing every word. Luna continued,” She has returned to her normal state and has requested to see you.”
Al nodded and kept listening.
Luna turns to him and keeps talking, “I bet you are wondering a great deal about where you are, and where your friends are, no?,” Upon seeing Al’s nod, she continues hastily. “You are in Equestria, home of the ponies. There are 4 types of ponies, unicorns, pegasus, earth, and alicorn. I see you managed to inherit the unicorn gene.” She adds, nodding towards his horn before continuing. “When you preformed your process of “alchemy”, you somehow managed to connect to my sister and I’s minds, and you filled our dreams with your adventure to Equestria. My sister and I do know about you humans, and we assure you that your secret is safe with us. However, we are unsure of your “alchemy”. We do have somepony who can help you, and you did meet her last night. Twilight Sparkle is her name. She is by far the most talented unicorn I know, and her magic even exceeds my sister and I’s. “ Luna pauses for a second as her and Al walk down the halls. “We have arrived. I shall finish this conversation with you later.” And with that, she leaves.
Al stares at her, dumbfounded. Twilight? The pony Brother, Winry and I were going to attack and demand information? I guess she was a useful source. But maybe she’ll cooperate. I hope so. I hate fighting . He adds, before opening the large doors that lay before him.
“Hello Alphonse Elric.” calls a voice from inside.
“Princess Celestia, it is an honor to meet you in your normal state.” He says, bowing.
“Please come in,” She says with a laugh, and Al obliges. Once the door is shut behind him, he turns to the princess who sits on a couch.
She smiles at him, a warm motherly smile. “Mr. Elric,”
“Yes, Miss Celestia?”
Her face grows serious. Al braces himself. “I am afraid to tell you that I have no idea where your brother and your friend are.”

Luna sighed as soon as she heard the door shut behind her. It was a long night, and she was ready to sleep. She had been comforting a crying colt all night, and she should be soaked in tears, but she wasn't. The colt couldn't cry, because he was a hollow suit of armor. No one in Equestria besides his friends and Luna knew this, and the princess intended for it to stay that way. She learned of his blood seal, the hardships he went through, the horrifying sights he saw (her heart nearly shattered at the tale of Nina) and things he's experienced before his 16th birthday.
As she walked down the hall, a chill creeped down her back. She decided getting banished to the moon was better than what he had to go through.
"Princess." A gruff voice breaks the awkward silence that surrounds her.
"Yes?" Her voice is tired, laced with drowsniness.
"Do you want anything to eat before you go to bed?"
A sigh. "Yes, I'll have a daisy sandwich and a glass of apple juice, preferably from Sweet Apple Acres. "
"As you wish." And then he was gone.
She didn't know why she felt this way, and it bothered her to no end. Why was she so worked up over this? What did it mean to her? It felt as if his emotions had transferred over to her. Luna sighed and looked out the window. Only one person to see right now , she thinks.

Edward yawned as he walked through downtown Ponyville. He tuned Pinkie out a minute ago so he could look for Al or Winry.
"....And that's how I was named!" She finishes, turning toward Ed who was now blinking at the party pony with big, gold, confused eyes.
"What?" He yawns again,"I wasn't listening. Sorry."
Pinkie just smiles. "We're heeeerre!" She then bounds inside a large building which vaguely looks like a merry-go-round. She disappears for a minute, then pokes her head back outside. "Come on Slowy McSlowerson, Rarity wants to meet you!"
Rarity... Ed thinks, was that her? Was that the pony that rescued me and Al? Only one way to find out I guess..
He cautisouly climbed the steps, bracing himself for what could be inside. What if Al and Winry were there? What if they were sick, or injured or, or- His blood ran cold. Dead.
"Nah, they wouldn't be dead." He murmurs to himself, quickening his pace. As soon as he set foot inside though, he knew he had the wrong place.
"OH MY HEAVENS!" A voice shrieks from behind him. "What in Equestria happened to your mane?!"
Ed whirls around and comes to face to face with a white unicorn with curled purple hair. Not his unicorn though. He blinks at the horrified unicorn for a few seconds before speaking."Uh..." He truns around again to look in a mirror, and in doing so he cringes.
His usually braided hair was undone and matted to no end. It had turned greasy and was filled with dirt and flour. His coat was scruffy and covered in a bit of dry blood.
"But your legs... I do like that limb you are sporting. It does look a bit like Fleetfoot's prosthetics, only more streamlined and stronger. That doesn't matter, we can get you fixed right up. I do happen to be a prosthetic mechanic you know. My main mechanic is out of town. But I can clean your ports for you no problem."
Edward just gaped at her.
"Close your mouth, that's rude. Now come along, we have many things to do."
"Whatever."
"Ah ah ah, that'll be a yes, Miss Rarity."
"Yes Miss Rarity." He finally choked out. He just glared at Pinkie Pie who was laughing it up in the corner as he was dragged away by Rarity.
First he was given a bath by Rarity after he removed his automail. While he wasn't excited about the idea at first, he soon gave in and just relaxed. It felt good to have her massage his head. The last person who did that was his mom. After he got over his nostalgia, she dried him off and cleaned his automail.
"It's time to re-attach your prosthetics Mr. Edward." She looked at him with a sideways glance. "Hmmm... You look like your on the smaller side, more like the size of a filly."
"WHO YOU CALLING SO SHORT YOU CAN'T SEE WITH A MICROSCOPE!!"
Rairty just smiled. "Looks like I'm not going to need to use such a powerful spell."
His ears perked up at this."Spell?"
She looked at him with an are-you-serious face. "You have a horn, Mr. Elric. You should know what I'm talking about."
He sighed and looked at Pinkie who just shrugged."Unfortunately, I don't. I was raised in a sheltered home."
Rarity gave him a pitiful frown. Then her eyes sparkled after a second. "You know, I have a friend who is one of the most powerful unicorns in Equestria. Her power is said to match the Princesses. You should pay her a visit. Miss Sparkle truly is a prodigy."
Sparkle. Sparkle. Sounded familiar.
"Anyway, hold still." She commanded. Edward froze. He watched in awe as Rarity's horn began to glow blue, and looked down to see that he was glowing blue too. Suddenly he heard a loud pop, and he collapsed, asleep.
***** 1 Hour Later *****
"Eh? What happened?" Ed asked, still groggy from his nap.
"i put you under so I could re-attach your automail." Rarity said, giving him a smile.
"Oh." He said, fully awake now. "Wish I had that back in Amestris...." He smiled again. "Well, we did but Winry never let me use it. Said I needed to toughen up." He looked down His automail was connected to his ports, and he felt no pain at all.
Rarity smiled at him before speaking again."Now that your coat is nice and clean, let's fix your hair."
Edward looked at her. "Miss Rarity..."
Rarity's hooves became a blur over his head and when she stopped he had a pin straight mane. "Uhm, Miss Rarity?" "No, no that's not it!" Her hooves flew once again. Now it was curly. "Uh... Miss Rar-" Once again, her hooves morphed his hair into a fro. Edward tried to interrupt her but she was too busy.
Finally, he had enough.
"RAAARRRITY!" He screamed before raising up and clapping his hooves on the ground.
Rarity froze. Then she smiled timidly for a second. "Sorry Mr. Elric, I just got so carried away..."
He smiled. "Try putting it in a braid, and leave my bangs to me."
Two sets of hooves flew through the air, and then, after the dust settled, Rarity squinted to see her final result.
"Marvelous, just marvelous! It suits you so well!" She mused, walking in circles around Ed.
Pinkie bounced over to look. "Wow, you look super duper! And just in time for your party too!"
Ed turned to Rarity. "Thank you so much Rarity. I'll be sure to come back here another day."
She smiled. "I hope you do. It was a pleasure."
And then Pinkie yanked Ed from his spot and dragged him out of the shop, shouting her thanks to Rarity as she left.

Winry watched the trees fly past her as she leaned out the window of the train. She looked ahead and saw Canterlot, and she felt true excitement boiling.
"Winry! If you don't lean back in I swear you're gonna fall out!" Twilight screeched from behind her.
Winry leaned back in, laughing. "Don't worry, I rode trains alot back in Amestris." She smiled sadly. She felt pressure on her shoulder and looked down to see Twilight's hoof resting on her shoulder. "Don't worry, you'll get home soon."
Winry smiled and leaned against the seat and fell asleep. Shit.. Twilight thought, Why did I say that? I have no way of knowing if they can get home. A burp brought her out of her mental scolding.
"Twilgiht..." Spike calls, "The Princess wants to see you tomorrow."
Twilight sighed and looked at Spike. "Tell her I can't see her till Thursday. I need two days with the Wonderbolts." Spike nods. "Okay, whatever you say."
Soon all three are asleep, and the train keeps chugging slowly towards Canterlot.

"And then it turns out, she WASN'T a cactus! How weird is that?" Pinkie said, giving Ed a big smile as she poured the cake batter into a pan.
Ed couldn't help but laugh. This pony was so, so random and fun. It was a nice break from his usual life of fighting and pain. "I can honestly say that's never happened to me. Not even when I lived in Amestris."
He turned to walk over to the pantry to get more flour (which Ed learned does NOT come out of hide easily) and as soon as he got up from his perch on the counter, his automail legs seized up and he collapsed.
Pinkie turned around. "You silly pony, why are you on the floor?"
"You're one to call me silly!" Ed said, smirking. But then a serious look came over his face. "I can't move my leg, Pinkie. I'm stuck."
Pinkie frowned. "Do you think it was the flour?" She looked sadder now. "I hope I didn't break it.."
"No no no, it wasn't your fault!" Ed said, blushing.
Pinkie tapped her hoof to her chin. "Hmmmmm...."
"What is it?" Ed asked, studying the pink ponies face.
She remains still for a minute than her face lights up with a huge grin.
"Pardon me Rarity," She says, leaving Ed even more confused than before. She then takes in a large breath, " IDEEEEEAAAAAAA!" She yells, before running into the pantry. She produces a bottle of shiny yellowish liquid, which she pours into a baster.
"Wha-what are you doing?" Ed asks, slightly confused as to why Pinkie's walking toward him with a baster full of slimy goo. She then sticks the baster in the cracks of his automail and squeezes it, releasing the smelly liquid.
"Try it now!" She says, after filling both automail joints with the mysterious substance.
Ed cautiously lifted his leg. And... it worked! "Woah!" Ed exclaimed."What did you use? To do that?"
"Veggie-table oil!" Pinkie chirped, while putting her cake into the oven.
"Ohh,"Ed says with a laugh," Winry always used something like that for my au-" He froze.
Pinkie was washing dishes, and at the silence of Ed she turned around. "You ok?"
Ed was staring straight ahead, a blank expression on his face.
"Winry.... Al.... how did I forget?" He murmured to himself.
Pinkie tapped her chin. "Hmmmmm.... those names aren't familiar to me. ARE THEY NEW IN TOWN TOO? WE CAN HAVE A BIG PARTY FOR EVERYPONY NOW!" Pinkie decided, nearly bouncing off the walls.
"Oh man, I don't remember anything from last night after meeting Winry with that little purple thing." Ed mused.
Pinkie cocked her head. "Umh....I'm not sure who you're talking about, but all I know is that you just poofed here!"
Ed gave her a look. "Poofed? Could you be a little more specific?"
"Well, there was a huge bright light and WABAM! There you were!" Pinkie said, giggling.
Ed rolled his eyes. The most important thing to him right now was finding Al and Winry. But first he needed to find that unicorn who was with them.
What was her name!? Why can't I remember what she looked like?
"Hey Pinkie...."
"Mhm?" Pinkie replies, while removing her freshly baked cake from the oven.
"Umh, do you know of any unicorns in this town?" Ed asks.
"Oh yeah! I have two bestest friends who are unicornies! But i also have many other unicorny friends too!"
Purple.
"The unicorn had purple hair." Ed tells Pinkie, a solemn look on his face.
"Hmmmm... I know 3 unicorns with purple hair. Come on! Let's go find 'em!" Pinkie chirps before grabbing Ed and dragging him outside into Ponyville.
Winry.. Al... I hope you're with one of them.

Winry woke up on a couch, feeling rather well-rested.
"Oh man, what a dream.. What was that place? Oh yeah, I was a pony or something..." She blinks a few more times.
Hmmm. This doesn't look familar. She looks down at her legs.
Hooves.
Memories start coming back to her like a flood. Meeting that unicorn named Twilight, staying up late learning about Equestria's version of automail (equally fascinating but just as difficult) and getting to know Twilight Sparkle, Spike, and about Equestria.
Ed. Al.
Winry hears hoofsteps from behind her.
Twilight stifles a yawn. "G'Morning.." She says with a tired tone.
Winry just watches.
Twilight walks over and heats a glass of cold coffee with her magic.
That's kind of like Alchemy without using a transmutation circle, or even clapping your hands. Winry notes.
Too bad we can't remember anything from last night , she adds with a hint of sadness.
"Ahhhhh... " Twilight muses, taking a sip. She looks at Winry. "Would you care for a mug?"
"Sure." Winry was never one to turn down a good cup of coffee.
Twilight floated a glass over to her. It was hot to the touch.
A loud burp is heard from the door. Winry turns around, to see Spike mumbling something about "Stupid letters from Celestia" mumbles from the floor. "Twilight, you got a letter from the Wonderbolts again.
Twilight's face lights up. "Lemme guess, Fleetfoot needs me to fix her prosthetic leg, Spitty needs new flight books, and Soarin' wants me to bring him a pie recipe."
Spike chuckles. "Close, except for the fact that Captain wants to see you. Job offer or somethin."
"Hm."
"Well Winry, you're in for a treat." Twilight says, smiling at the earth pony with a wrench on her flank.
Winry isn't paying attention though. She was too busy looking in the dictionary.
"Uhh Winry?" Twilight said, looking at the pony who was engrossed in her book, " Are you there?"
"Ah hah!" Winry said, nearly tackling Twilight. "Prosthetic means a fake limb or something, right?"
"Yeah..." Twilight said, still confused.
"That's like automail!" Winry squealed, " Let's go let's go let's gooo!"
Twilight chuckled. "We'll leave in an hour. We can get some shopping done for you while in Canterlot. I feel like you're going to be here awhile."
Winry looked at Twilight with a look of concern on her face,
Twilight smiled. "Don't worry, you're welcome to stay here as long as you like." She said, giving Winry a friendly smile.

Al sat in his room, looking out the window with a solemn look on his face.
He could hear the guards whispering to Luna, who was there for her hourly visit.
Not like he cared.
Ever since yesterday, when he received the news about his brother, he just didn't feel right.
His body felt numb. Well, you know. As much as a metal shell could feel.
Why am I still imprisoned in this body? Al thought, sighing to himself. I was at the Gate. I HAD my body. It was there. And then poof! It's gone . Al let's out a forced laugh. He hears Luna sigh from behind him.
"Alphonse?"
No answer.
He can hear her approach him. He feels a hoof touch his shoulder.
"Please... just go." Is all Al can choke out.
He can hear Luna swallow.
"I'm afraid that I come with more bad news."
Al felt himself stiffen.
"We were looking into Celestia's magic during her rages..." She said trailing off.
AND? was all Al thought.
"We found that your brother's transportation, while instigated by him, was also greatly affected by Celestia's magic."
"What does that mean?" Al asked coldly.
Silence.
"What. does. that. mean?" Al said, turning around, his red eyes glowing furiously.
"Your brother could be anywhere."
More silence.
"Define anywhere."
"Anywhere. Equestria. Amestris. Earth. Other places. Anywhere."
Still, more silence.
And suddenly Luna was being hugged by a sobbing metal colt.
