The library was silent. So much mice's steps would be hearable. It was a good thing that Spike had cleaned up the library so well. He could barely see anything as he tried to walk down the stairs. The wood creaked slightly with every step. The only thing that prevented a full racket was the fact that he was light. Owlicious was gone for the night, hunting his meal, making it all  the more easy for the dragon. He was about to touch the handle of the door when a loud snore froze him. Twilight shuffled on her bed for a few seconds before finally settling in. Spike waited a few seconds before moving again, holding his breath.

"You took a while." Snowdrop whispered as Spike closed the door, finally outside of the library.

"I got lucky. Twilight sometimes goes all the way till four in the morning. Guess who has to be fetching the books and cleaning up the next morning?"

It was cold. Summer was about to end and it showed. Many leaves had turned yellow, and many others were following the same path. Spike wasn't really bothered though, not that much at least.

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see..."

They passed in front of many of the landmarks of Ponyville, such as the town hall, the Sugarcube Corner and the Carousel Boutique. Snowdrop hovered her way across, glowing with a pale light. Spike walked behind her. Soon enough, they left town, reaching the fields that surrounded the it. Spike could see a shadowy tower in front of them.

"We're almost there."

"The Bell tower?"

"Thats right. I thought it would be more fitting."

"But how are we supposed to get inside?" he asked.

"I have that covered." wings beating could be heard, grabbing Spike's attention. "Look." The wings soon reached the light that Snowdrop produced. Derpy landed with a small grunt. On her back was none other than Diamond Tiara, though her namesake was missing from her head.

"Nice landing Derpy." Snowdrop complimented.

"Not nice enough for me. I'm all sore." Diamond Tiara motioned to get down, but Derpy prevented it with a wing.

"The nice ball said we have to go inside. We go through the bell hole." the pegasasus said.

"You better hang on to her Spike."

The bell tower was build like a thin pyramid, which gave everypony enough space to sit at the bottom and be comfortable. Spike was surprised by the grace with which Derpy had flown them down. He had heard Dash tell some stories about the mare's less than stellar record.

"Right here. Thats good Derpy. You can sit besides Diamond, Spike." Snowdrop said as she landed right in the middle of the group. "Now, I guess you are all wondering why you are here. I can explain everything, I just need-"

"Indeed. Why are we here?" Diamond Tiara asked angrily. "I thought you said you were my friend."

"She's my friend too..." Derpy whispered.

"Hey, hey! Keep it down or somepony will hear us!" Spike said. Diamond Tiara fumed, but said nothing more.

"Spike is right. We need to stay calm if this to work." Snowdrop agreed. "I know that you don't want to share me Diamond Tiara, and I understand why." Diamond Tiara dropped her ears at that moment. Snowdrop floated a bit higher.

"The three of you are here because they have had an unfair life, denied of the most basic of things, like respect..." she motioned to Derpy. "...love..." she followed with Diamond Tiara. "...and gratitude." she finished with Spike. "All three of you have been trying coping in ways that you know, some were the right way and others...not so much. But it has gotten heavy, isn't it?" Three heads nodded. "Keeping up the facade, smiling when you really want to cry, acting like you always do, when all you want is to be hugged or cared for. Being loyal, hard working and proud. Its just not cutting it anymore, is it?"

Once again, three heads nodded.

"Thats why I came to you. I noticed your sorrow, your pain. So I came to help you three." Snowdrop explained. "i promised each of you that if you listened to me, I would be the first friend. I now fulfill my word. So, lets introduce each other. Spike? Why don't you start?"

Spike hesitated. He didn't really knew the two ponies that were joining him tonight, and what little he did knew about them wasn't very encouraging either. A complete klutz who nearly demolished the town hall and a well known bully. Snowdrop pulsed with energy. Spike snapped out of his doubt. Snowdrop had done her part, now it was his turn.

"Well, eh, I'm Spike. You pretty much know about me already. Twilight's assistant, only dragon in town and friend of the elements of harmony. Or at least, thats what I like to think." Derpy paid close attention. Tiara seemed to be looking at some invisible fly, but her hears were twitching every now and then. "I do a lot of work for them. Bring them stuff, help them around, clean their messes. But I never get any recognition! Its like they expect me to just work for the pleasure of it!"

"I think I can relate a bit..." Derpy said. " Ponies always take me for a klutz. I mean, I kinda am a klutz, but they take it too far. I have two kids to worry about, and yet, all I get is the worst jobs. The one that nopony takes because they suck. They don't pay good, so I have to do them a lot, all the while the rest of the ponies call me names and insult me, even when I'm with my family!" A tear slipped from her face.

"And what about you Diamond?" Snowdrop said. "Anything you want to share with your new friends?"

Diamond Tiara didn't answer. She gave both Spike and Derpy a long stare, one that was filled with both disdain and mistrust. A nudge from Snowdrop made her changer mind.

"My...family...is rich." she explained. "From the moment I was born, my parents always gave me what I needed. Toys, clothes, jewelry. But they never gave me what I really wanted." She did her best to seem strong. "Every day, I have to see ponies walk by, happy with each other, with their families, with their friends. And I can't help it. I just...I just feel so jealous! I have everything they wish for and yet they are more happy than me! Why?! Why them?! Why not me too!" Diamond Tiara sobbed. Derpy draped a wing around her. The filly didn't accept it, but didn't reject it either.

"And there you have. The three of you now know what you have in common." Snowdrop said. "The three of you have been denied of what should have been given freely. You have endured great loneliness when you shouldn't have too." she floated right above Spike.

"But not anymore."

All three of her guests turned to her.

"You have have suffered loneliness and pain, but now each of you has found two kindred souls that understand you. That can relate to you." Snowdrop explained. "And it doesn't have to end there either."

"No? What do you mean?" Spike asked.

"What if you could get even?" Snowdrop answered, straight on his face before moving on to Derpy. "What if you could make them see just how much pain you are in?"

"As in telling everypony?" Diamond Tiara asked. Snowdrop giggled.

"No silly, I mean as in getting even. You three have suffered greatly because of your so called family and friends. Why not give them a taste of their own medicine? Why not show them how you three have felt for years! Isn't that the fair thing?"

"But...we're gonna hurt them. Won't we?" Spike asked.

"They have done it to you, have they not? Or did you already forget what happened today?"

Spike frowned. He had not forgotten.

"We have taken in a lot of stuff. Maybe we should give some back." Derpy said. "I mean, its just for a while right? We're not really going to hurt them, are we?"

"Only as much as you feel like. You're the one who's been hurt. Its only fair its you who delivers the punishment."

"But how are going to do it? We're just ponies! and a dragon." Diamond asked. That was a problem, considering just which ponies they were getting back at to.

"I can help you with that." Snowdrop answered as she started glowing brighter and brighter. "Just stay still for a moment."

Spike had to close his eyes as the light engulfed him. It was tingly at first, maybe even itchy. But it soon stopped, replaced by a feeling of fullness. Not of appetite, or muscle, or anything physical. It was more than that. It was as if his body was filled to the brim with energy.

And it felt awesome.

"Now then..."  Snowdrop said. Her voice sounded different. As soon as Spike opened his eyes, he had his answer. Snowdrop was no longer a sphere of energy. She was a mare now. Still of the purest white. Her mane cascaded from her body, same thing with her tail. Her eyes were cyan. If she had a cutie mark, it was invisible against the white flank.

"Why don't we start with some ideas?"
