In the three years Pressman the journalist has worked in the newspaper business, he hasn't received a single interesting story. He is, in fact, just on the verge of quitting and moving to a new company, when his boss sends him out to investigate a strange orphanage in the middle of nowhere, claiming to have found "The Greatest Story Ever to Hit Equestria".

Upon arrival, Pressman finds himself in the abode of none other than the infamous Gypsy Bard. While at first he is uncertain of what his task is, it quickly becomes apparent that the orphanage is no ordinary place.

Unsolved murders, strange cutie marks, and in the center of it all, the Gypsy Bard, the mare of myth and legend. Needless to say, no good journalist could leave such a story untouched. So why is Pressman the only one investigating? Could there be secrets even deeper and darker than what even he can find?

There's only one way to find out, and there is a very good chance that it will not be pleasant.
