ERR! ERR! ERR! ERR! Flash began to roll over to shut his alarm clock. "Morning already?", groaned Flash. As he slapped the clock; knocking it off the nightstand. He slid off the covers and tried rolling out of bed. It didn't take long before he hit the floor.

A voice shouted from downstairs. "Flash Flyer! It's time for school, get up and get ready. And don't forget to take your history textbook today!"

"Uh Wha.... Oh! Coming Dad!" Flash called back down, and he rushed to his closest and grabbed his backpack. Then rushed down stairs to the kitchen. Flash's dad was busy organizing papers at the dining table. "Hey Dad. Do you have a meeting today? Whats with all the papers?"

He didn't even stop to look up. "Oh good you're up son." He put the papers into a briefcase. "Yes I do have a meeting today, but it's for a special client."

Flash was already stuffing down his breakfast. "But Dad, don't you say that all client meetings are special and are always important?

His Dad smiled. "Yes I do, but this meeting is for Princess Luna."

Flash nearly choked on his bagel. "Kak Kak what!? Princess Luna? What does she need a lawyer for?

Flash's dad walked over to the mirror; reviewing the final touches of his suit. "Look Flash. Princess Luna has been out of the loop for awhile. I need to present these new laws that apply to Equestria when she rules during the night."

"But Dad why can't Princess Celestia tell Luna this stuff they are sister rig-." His dad cut him off.

"Flash its part of the system. It just has to work like this. And now that I think about it, My family had to come to Ponyville to handle the case of Princess Celestia when she was elected to rule over day and night."

Flash sighed. "Oh the legendary Flyer Pegasus Family history."

Flash's dad looked at him. "Son I'd think you'd be a great lawyer," He paused to look at his watch. Oh! I better head off if I want to catch the last morning train to Canterlot. Your mom should be home by 6:00 tonight. Have a nice day at school and try to stay out of trouble till then," He waved goodbye as he rushed out the door.

A clock struck in the living room. "Ah crap! I'm gonna be late for school!" Flash dashed for the door and took flight. Not noticing that he left his textbook back in his house. But it was far two late Flash was already flying at full speed and more than halfway to school. "A lawyer! Humph! I'm the fastest Flyer in my family tree. I got wings i'm gonna use them, and besides law and politics is boring. Flying is more interesting anyway. And soon I'm gonna try out for the Wonder-Bolts academy and become a much better flyer." Flash kept thinking till he arrived at school. Two minutes before the bell.

He landed at the entrance gate and glided to the front doors just as they were closing, and slipped into the building. "Okay I got one minute to get to class. Time to see if those dashes from Sugar Cube Corner to Sweet Apple Acres are gonna pay off." He spread his wings and got three feet off the ground; then a shout rang out behind him.

"FLASH-FLYER SET YOUR HOOVES ON THE GROUND THIS INSTANT!!!!"

"Aw SHIT!!!" Flash turned around. "Principle Myers I didn't see you there," he chuckled nervously.

"Obviously," he scoffed. "Now Flyer, where exactly did you plan on heading off to? The cafeteria? Or perhaps the girls locker room?" The start-of-class bell went off.

Flash sighed as he looked up at a clock; teasing him that he was late. "Well I was on my way to history, but I guess I'll wait in the holding room till next class," and he started to walk off.

Mr. Myers smiled. "Not so fast Flyer," He stopped him with his hoof. "I've seen Your grades. You're a remarkable scientist and historian, and as luck would have it you have history right now," He pulled out a late pass and signed it and handed it to Flash.

Flash felt confused. "Just like that?"

Principle Myers laughed. "Of course not Flyer! Detention for the next three days, Now get your butt down to class!"

"But I-" Flash started to say. But Mr. Myers chimed in.

"I have yet to assign punishment for you flying in the hall."

"Bye Mr. Principle," and Flash took the note and ran off. While Principle Myers called out.

"NO RUNNING IN THE HALLS!!!"

Flash smiled as he ran to his history class. He always did enjoy history class; he was able to see his family's handy work in Equestria's past; though most of it was mainly lawyers and their efforts in the legal system. But Flash also prided himself on his scientific abilities. When he wasn't training with his flying, he was out at the library researching theories and laws of the universe. On occasion Flash worked with Twilight Sparkle, Princess Celestia's prized pupil. The two often tried to test the effects of high speed flying; which usually ended up leaving Flash crashing into Trees over the Ever-Free forest. These subjects, Flash had no problems with, but every other class he didn't have as high as grades as these two. Flash reached his class with the note held in his teeth. With a deep breath he opened the door and walked in.

His teacher looked back from the chalkboard. "Well if it isn't Mr. Flyer, I'm glad you could join us today. So whats your excuse this time? A dragon burnt your homework? The wind took my backpack from me? Or perhaps you discovered Atlantis, and you slept in because of the trip back was tiresome."

"No Mr. i'm just late. No excuses," remarked Flash as he started to walk to his desk.

"Well Flash as you are well aware, you need a-" Flash interrupted his teacher.

"A signed pass from a teacher or a staff member of the school to enter class late," he handed the note to his teacher with a slight grin. "Here you go Mr. Codsdale"

The teacher swiped the pass from Flash and started to hold it up to the light. "Well it's not forged, and by the way Flash that's Professor to you, now take your seat and take out your textbook," Instructed his teacher while he continued to write on the board.

Flash froze. "Oh no! I forgot it at home!" His Teacher turned back around.

"Flash is their a problem?"

Flash looked at his teacher "Um no Professor sir, I'll take my seat now." He started to look around at the other students' textbooks on his walk to his desk hoping he would at least know what the class was working on. They were all closed and he had no clue what the topic was. "Oh crap!" Flash thought. "This might go downhill really fast."

Flash sat down in his chair with an anxiousness written on his face . Professor Codsdale resumed his teaching. "Now before I was interrupted we were about to go on page 432. Now who would like to give a little background information on the subject? "How about the last person to get to page 432 in the book has to describe the subject."

Everypony began flipping through textbooks. Flash felt the pressure sinking in. Soon Professor Codsdale was going to see that he had no textbook. "If he catches me with no book hes gonna poke fun at m-"

"Mr. Flyer where is your textbook?"

"Uh oh." Flash gulped.
