//-------------------------------------------------------// Ponymon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Friendship -by ScottishPony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Trick Shot //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Trick Shot Flying was my favourite thing, like, ever. I love the feeling of freedom it brings. I love the adrenalin, the wind rushing by your head. I love the feeling of knowing, it will end when you want it too. But I'm not flying for leisure, I'm practicing for the best young fliers competition. Two years ago, I had won it, and I spent a WHOLE DAY with the wonder bolts, I mean, how awesome is that! Hanging out with THE most AWESOME flight crew in Equestria. Anyway, I heard that there are three new Pegasus, that everypony says are the best, and I am determined to beat them! And I have some tricks under my hoof. I've been practicing for MONTHS now, on my three new moves. The quick shot (where I zoom past the crowd, showering them in rainbow sparks- after I perform the sonic rainboom of course), the rain-nado (perform a sonic rainboom, then spin around and around, creating a rainbow tornado), and the hardest thing of all, the heart breaker (zoom through the air, grating a rainbow love heart, then make a rainboom in the exact centre). This is going to be tough. Especially the heart breaker. You have to get that JUST so, or the entire thing fails, and you get thrown off a mighty ways away. Every time I have tried that trick, I have failed miserably. But determination feeds my fire, and I continue trying. Never give up, just perfect the trick. That is my motto to the fillies, and sometimes, even other ponies. Just a few more tries, and I'll get my final trick ready on time, as the best young fliers competition is only three days away, and we've been told to go to Cloudsdale to register ourselves, and our tricks. Time to head out, time to go and show them my stuff! Ok, here goes nothing... ...Ok, calm down Rainbow... In... Out... In... Out... It's only Spitfire... The leader of the best flight team ever... Don't crack... "Well, fancy seeing you here, Rainbow!" Spitfire called, grinning ear to ear, "I wonder who'll win this year?" Suddenly feeling struck, I kinda' reacted rationally... "Isn't it obvious?! These other ponies couldn't do a descent trick if it were to save themselves!" Angry mutters rose around me, and my cheeks turned a soft, gentle red, and growing stronger. I saw Spitfire's eyebrow raise in an amused way, "Well, well, well! Seams we have a bit of competition going on already." Spitfire began to chuckle softly, then continued, "Well, remember, only the best of the best get through to the top forty! I'll see you when you're performing to us. See ya' round..." I shook off the last feelings of embarrassment, and stood back in line. There were three soft chuckles behind me, and I turned round sharply. "What are you laughing at?!" I hissed angrily, suddenly shocked by the three ponies that stood before me. The first one, was a light yellow pony, with a flaming mane and tail. The second pony was weirder, for that one was a  shocking yellow, with an even more shocking black and yellow spiky mane. The third was possibly the weirdest thing I've ever seen- even worse than Chrysalis! It's coat was an ice-blue colour, with a spiky ice shards as it's mane. "Huh?!" I yelped, shrinking back slightly, but still standing my ground, "Who are you?" There cold, green eyes stared right into my soul, and seemed to read everything about me. "Next, please!" a voice suddenly cut in, making me jump slightly. I turned round quickly, glad to be away from those three freaks. "Name" "Rainbow Dash." "Class." "Jr. Wonder bolt." "And Tricks." "Quick shot, Rain-nado, and the Heart breaker." "Ok, go ahead through." the receptionist opened a small doorway, and lead me through. The door lead to a large, perfectly-sculpted amphitheatre. "Wow..." I gasped, staring at the architectural beauty of the amphitheatre, and admiring the detail and designs put into all of the walls. "Yeah, nice isn't it..." growled the receptionist pony in a monotone voice, "Now stop dilly-dallying and head down those steps and go perform- oh and, please don't break anything..." And with that, the grumpy mare was gone. Ok... Keep it together Rainbow, just perform the tricks as we did so many times... Keep it together... -I thought to myself- keep it together... I trotted down to a small table where the three main wonder bolts sat- Spitfire, Soarin, and Fleetfoot. "Ok, dash, show us what you've got!" Spitfire grinned cheerily. "I'd give you nothing less!" I replied, grinning viciously, spreading a-wide my wings, and hopping into the air. I puffed, preparing myself for the tricks. I shot through the air, as fast as I could, quickly making a rainboom, and performing my first trick. Soarin whistled, "Ni-i-i-i-i-i-ce!" I smiled softly, and began performing stage two. I performed it with quick succession. The three judges sat open-mouthed. "I wish this was the real-deal, not just auditions, 'cos you'd win! Hooves down!" gasped Spitfire. "Ok... step three..." I gulped, beginning to fly quickly. Suddenly, I was swatted out of the air, and was thrown downward. I desperately tried to flap my wings, but they were somewhat paralyzed. I tried to call out for help, by my whole body seemed to be frozen in time. Unfortunately, outside me, was not frozen, and I was going down still. "WHOOSH!!!" suddenly something whizzed by me, and grabbed me. Soon, I was laid down on a cold hard surface, and my body was able to move again. I was sitting before none other than the three legendary birds of myth... Fire, water, and electric, the purest elements of earth, sat before me. "What..." I gasped in disbelief, trying to take it all in. better question, where? My eyes were tight shut the whole journey, and I have no idea where I am. The ice bird stood forward, and spread a-wide it's wings, "Rainbow Dash, you are needed in the world of Pokémon, you must go there, and save the Pokémon from certain doom..." The other two birds nodded their heads silently, and the ice bird continued, "There is a disaster happening in the world of Pokémon, and you alone, are the only one to stop it... You must go... Now, or their world- your world- will be destroyed..." Suddenly, a whoosh of light fell on top of me, and everything went black.... //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Falling without Wings. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Falling without Wings. "Urg... My head..." I groaned, opening my eyes into slits, "Wh-where am I?" The room around me was changing every colour of the rainbow, while contrast with streaks of white. I felt the undoubtable feeling of being watched by thousands of eyes. Suddenly a voice smashed the eyrie silence. "Answer these questions as truthfully as possible..." the voice creaked, like it was an old pony, who hadn't used his voice in a while. "I think I'll be doing the asking!" I shouted back, my voice shuddering with fear that I did my best to hide. What was this pony going to do- if it's even a pony. Will it kill her?! Maybe even- "What would you do if your friends were in trouble?" the voice asked, in a cold, dark tone. "Wha- oh... I'd do my best to help them." I replied to the ever-changing colours, "Now, where am-" "When your friends are talking out of earshot, what do you do?" "I join in there chat." I replied, in a bored tone, realising I'm not going to get any answers. ***MEANWHILE*** "Ok, Hoppip, the time is now... Be brave..." a small plant-like beast muttered to himself, "Ok... Be brave..." The small Hoppip stepped onto a small, bamboo grate, and took a deep breath. "POKEMON DETTECTED!! POKEMON DETECTED!!" shouted a voice up from below the grate, "WHO'S FOOTPRINT? WHO'S FOOTPRINT?" There was a short pause, and Hoppip was shaking violently with fear. "IT'S HOPPIP!! IT'S HOPPIP!!" the voice shouted, and Hoppip jumped off the grate, fear locked in his eyes. Hoppip turned, and walked away from the grate, "Who am I kidding... I'll never become a rescue team..." Hoppip took out his relic, and looked at the gorgeous designs on the top of it. Hoppip closed his eyes, and clenched his relic tightly in his small hand. He flicked the left leaf on his head, and stuck out his tiny chest, trying to salvage some bravery. When he was about to put his tiny foot on the grate again, he heard mocking laughter coming from behind him. "Meh-he-he-he-he! Whets wrong, pinkie, you gona cry and run home to mummy?" a small, blue bat, mocked from a distance, and a small purple ball with small tubes all over it, excreting harmful gasses. "Cwa-ha-ha-ha-ha! Nice one Zubat! Or dose the little cowardly Hoppip disagree?" snarled the other Pokémon mockingly. "Come on Koffing, we have more IMPORTANT things to do with our time, than hang with a dip stick like you!" called the Zubat, turning away. Once the two Pokémon were out of sight, Hoppip turned away, from the small grate, and let a tear drop from his left eye, "Koffing and Zubat are right... I am just a coward..." Hoppip gently used his large leave on his head to glide down to the beach. The sun was just setting, and the glaze of the sun sent beautiful rays across the water. Hoppip looked down over his relic, and sighed. Obviously, he couldn't hear the evil laughter of Zubat and Koffing. "Ke-he-he-he-he-he! You see that thing there?! We can steal it and sell it!" grumbled Zubat, with a huge grin on his face. "Yeah, it'll be worth a fortune!" Koffing replied, and both of them laughed evilly, and went behind a large, sand-stone boulder. ***BACK TO RAINBOW*** "Finally, think of a colour." the voice creaked at last. "Rainbow!" "Hmm... You have a lot of bravery, but you are loyal to your friends. You like showing off, but hate loosing. Am I right?" "Yes." I replied after a short pause. "Then you have the true heart of a Totodile." croaked the voice, with a little bit of relief. "A what-now?!" I replied, but I knew the thing that asked me questions was gone. "We'll, young Totodile, there is a small Hoppip down below, who is trying to be brave, but can't muster up enough courage." a new voice entered, a soft, female voice, which made me jump. "A Hoppip?!" I cried, confusion messing with my thoughts, "What the heck is a Hoppip?" "That doesn't matter at the moment. But right now, you need to fulfil your destiny, and save your world -everyone's world- from certain destruction." the voice replied gently, and my hooves felt numb, and I looked down, wishing I didn't. The sight was enough to make me scream in terror, but when I tried to, I noticed my body was frozen stiff, and I could only watch as a small, while light travelled up my legs, turning them into small, claw-tipped hands. Soon the light had consumed my entire body, and I was completely changed into some sort of blue alligator thing. I began to freak out, and I regained movement, and began to thrash about wildly. Suddenly, the rainbow-y room I was in, soon faded to navy blue, and I began to fall through the sky. "I'll just fly outa here!" I murmured, trying to keep my fear under control, "Uh, wings?" I looked onto my spiked back, noticing immediately that I had no wings. My eyes turned into pin-tops, and I screamed as I fell. Soon my back collided with an ice-cold wall of water. The stench of salt overwhelmed me, and the pain in my back wasn't helping either. Soon the pain was overwhelming, and the world around me faded to black... //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Pokemon Mystery What-Now?! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Pokemon Mystery What-Now?! The waves of the wild ocean tossed me far from where I hit, and swung me from wave to wave, as if carrying me somewhere. My eyes were half closed, uncaring of the harsh world around me. The salty waves lashed angrily at my back, but unable to break my new, tough skin. I laid on the water, as if waiting for someone to rescue me, but I knew no one would ever come. Not now, not ever. I was on the edge on unconsciousness, and waiting for death to take over me. But it never came. I waited hours on end for myself to pass, but I never did. I decided -with my little strength I had left- to try to swim to safety. I braced my body to begin swimming, but suddenly, the waves did the swimming form me. My eyes opened wide as the waves moved at my command. Controlling ocean themselves, much better than simply flying in the air. "CRACK!!! grumble... grumble... grumble... CRACK!!!" thunder clapped overhead, as black storm clouds began to roll in. I groaned, and made the waves carry me in a northerly direction. After a few hours of that, I noticed a small dot appear on the horizon. Hope rose in me, making the waves go faster and faster, until I was blazing along at a very, very fast passé. Soon, that once small dot, moved out into a huge island. I noticed how fast I was going, and my excitement was feeding the speeding waves. "YAAAAHOOO!" I whooped in excitement, "Here I come, little-" My whoops of joy were cut off by the wave sweeping up high, and crashed into the shore, smacking my head off of a boulder, making me fall unconscious... ***TO HOPPIP*** Hoppip sat on the shore and gazed up to the setting sun, and saw the bubbles the Krabby were blowing into the calm air. Suddenly, the bubbles all popped simultaneously, and Hoppip looked into the distance. Jet black storm clouds were heading in this direction, and all the once happy Krabby, had ran into their homes and scampered away, eager to get away from the shore. "What is that?!" Hoppip cried, narrowing his eyes to look into the distance. A huge wave was heading at a bone-crushing pace towards him. Hoppip flew up JUST on time as the huge wave crashed onto the shore. Something hard -maybe some driftwood- smashed into a boulder, and made a huge crack in it. The water from the wave was enough to nearly fill the entire beach, and some even spilled over the top of the small cliff. Once the water went down, Hoppip landed, and walked quickly up to the boulder. "WOOOOOW!!" Hoppip cried, examining the huge split in the rock, "What could have caused tha-" Laying by the huge dent in the rock -the thing that caused the huge split- was a small... ...Totodile ***BACK TO RAINBOW*** Hour after hour passed, before I regained consciousness. My small eyes opened, and I tried to remember what happened. Nothing. I could remember nothing. The only thing I remembered was my name, and that I was once a pony. Nothing else. "Hey?" called a somewhat distant voice, "You alright?" I groaned and sat up, "Yeah... I guess so..." I brushed the sand off of my arms- not noticing I HAD arms and asked, "What happened?" The blurry shapes made out into a pinkie-purple plant thing with two large leaves on its head, "Well... I'm not sure. All I saw was that a huge wave crashed here, and you hit your head off the boulder." I stood up, and nearly fell over again. "What the- What happened to me?" "What do you mean? You look just like a normal Totodile to me." the plant-thing replied, worry weaving into it's voice. I gasped, and looked at the thing in front of me, "I became a Totodile?! But how?!" It shook it's head, "I don't know HOW this happens, but I'm a recruit in team Blazing Ice, and their commander -a Chimchar- claims to be human. Are you human?" "I don't think so..." I murmured, "I thing I was a...." I paused a moment, trying to remember what I looked like, "...Pegasus... I think..." There was a long silence, before the animal in front of me spoke again, poking at the sand, "I'm Hoppip by the way, what's your name? If you can remember." "I'm Rainbow." "Well, welcome to Pokémon Mystery Island!" grinned Hoppip, throwing his tiny arms a wide. I smiled, but it was short lived, as two odd purple things came out from behind a huge boulder not too far away. "Ke-he-he-he-he! Look at this Koffing! So precious that little pinkie here found a little girl friend!" scoffed the purple bat, "It warms my tiny heart to see you in love!" The two things burst out laughing, before the purple ball thing spoke, "Such an adorable couple, aren't they Zubat!" My cheeks burned furiously, "WHAT do you WANT!?" I shouted at the top of my voice, making even Zubat and Koffing cringe. "THIS is why we're hear!" the one named Zubat pushed over Hoppip, making him drop the relic, "My, my, my? What is this my I ask? Looks valuable." Hoppip's face was distorted with anger, "Give it back! It's my families relic!" Zubat left forward and grabbed it before Hoppip could move, "Hey give it back!!!" yelled Hoppip, trying to grab it. "So it's a RELIC you say..." Zubat mocked, "It might be worth more than what we first intended! We'll be rich Koffing!" "He said GIVE IT BACK!!!" I yelled, and leapt at Zubat's wings, in an attempt to tear them up. I was able to drag down Zubat to the ground. Koffing left forward, smothering me in his poisonous gasses. I fell back, coughing and wheezing, and trying to get some oxygen into my system. "Now you'll think twice before messing with US again!" Koffing growled, tossing the relic aside, "Probably not worth anything at all! C'mon Zubat, let's ditch these losers!" Zubat quickly sprang up, and the two bullies sauntered off. Once they were out of sight, Hoppip turned round to me, his eyes watering softly. "T-thanks for sticking up for me..." he murmured, his voice riddled with awe, "No-one has done that for me ever!" "It's ok, I always stick up for my friends!" I replied, a smile growing across my face, "When I was in my other form, my nick-name was Loyalty... or was it my nick-name... Oh well, it doesn't matter now." Hoppip's eyes glittered like stardust, and he smiled, "I have an idea!" he cried, "Want to form a Pokémon Rescue Team?" "A Pokémon Rescue Team?" I repeated in a confused manner, "Why? Can't the Pokémon here fend for themselves?" "Not really, you see there has been a Pokémon going around stealing the time gears- time gears are magical gears that keep the flow of time going on in that area. But, since the flow of time has been breaking apart, more and more bad Pokémon are coming up. "So, since more are coming up, more and more Pokémon are going missing, or needing errands." "And you're asking if I want to join you in helping with these errands?" I asked, curiously. "Oh... um... yeah..." Hoppip murmured shyly, "It doesn't matter if you don't want to..." "Hey, I didn't say no, you know!" I smiled, "Sure, I'll join you!" Hoppip's face lit up, and we began to walk out of the beach area, and up a slope, into where the town was...
