//-------------------------------------------------------// Just Another Fairytail... -by Emerald- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A Stream of Colors -Proulouge- //-------------------------------------------------------// A Stream of Colors -Proulouge- It was a hot Summer day in Ponyville, Equestria, and Twilight and her best friends were taking advantage of it. They had decided to go swimming since the roller rink was to busy. They splashed around in the blue water, giggling. Rarity was especially giddy because she had designed a new line of waterproof casual wear. It was hard to believe, but she was almost as hyperactive as Pinkie was. "Mjjs! jjjsk iei, aiwiwm?" Pinkie asked something along the lines of that. She had forgotten to take her snorkel off so the others were pretty confused. "I SA-AID." Pinkie said once again, once she had removed her snorkel. "Do you guys want to play Marco-Polo?" Twilight and her friends nodded, and argued over who was going to be 'it.' Finally, they all decided it should be Pinkie, since she was the most skilled swimmer of them all. "One...two...three..." Pinkie counted as they all swam off silently to their places. "Four...five...six..."  Rarity and Applejack swam, trying to find a spot to hide in. "Seven...Eight..Nine...TEN!!" Pinkie Pie sped off, trying to find her friends with her eyes closed. "MARCO!" she called, or rather screeched. "Polo." Rarity called back from not far away. Pinkie spun in her direction, where she heard Rarity's attempt of getting away. Pinkie tagged her, and smiled. Rarity looked at her with a pout, "This is not fair, Pinkie always tags everypony. How can she do that?" Applejack, Fluttershy, and Twilight swam up to them. "What in Luna's name is going on here?" Twilight asked. Rarity pointed a hoof at Pinkie. "She always wins, because she is always the better swimmer. Why did we have to go swimming anyhow? Why couldn't we...oh I don't know, go shopping?" Twilight rolled her eyes but managed a smile. "You want to go shopping? Fine we will go shopping, but after that we will all go to my library and read books with 800+ pages." The rest moaned. "...and uhm, maybe we could stop by the Animal Safety and Wildlife Center...oh I have always wanted to go there!" Fluttershy said in her teensie-tiny little voice. So then they continued to argue about what they wanted to do, not noticing a rainbow-colored portal that seemed to be growing larger and larger in the sky. Finally Twilight noticed it, and her eyes went small. "Girls, look!" All looked except Pinkie, who said "..and then he said, Pinkie you know asparagus isn't a fruit!" The rest of them gave her puzzled looks, Pinkie just shrugged it off like it was nothing. All 5 ponies rolled their eyes at Pinkie, before beginning  to argue again. Paying no attention to the rainbow orb that was floating just inches away from them. Suddenly, the rainbow orb opened to reveal a black inside, and swallowed the ponies whole. Each equally confused. Well except maybe Pinkie, she was giggling the entire time. Still, confusion. Complete and utter confusion. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1- Bonjour, Belle! -Part 1- //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1- Bonjour, Belle! -Part 1- There was a flash of light, and another...and another.  Twilight just got used to it, she was probably traveling through space and time by now. And...and...dang it. I didn't have anything to read! Let alone take notes with! Space time continuum could be so cruel. Suddenly I fell flat on my face,  and I heard others laugh at her. "Lookie here, Bell's fallen while reading one of her dumb books again!" I first thought they meant someone nearby, maybe someone else that had fallen over accidently while she was reading a book. Then I realized the scrawny looking one and the buck-toothed one where speaking to me I got up, trying to ignore the realization that I was wearing a blue dress. "Well I centrically wouldn't doing not reading a book, how could I?" The buck-toothed one stared at me blankly. "au revoir, gentleman." I trotted off, hearing myself humph. How rude were those ponies? I sat down in a chair nearby, and stared at the book in my  hooves. I hadn't been carrying a book that day, but visions of what I had read swept through my mind. I was intrigued by the romance, the war, I was tempted to read on. So I did, I lifted up the book, and each time I turned a page she felt her mane stick on it's end. Or was that just general excitement? I didn't care, I loved the book. Whoever wrote this was a genius . I was about to read the last chapter when somepony tapped me on the shoulder, making me jump. " G'day Madame Belle." A large, muscular pony stood above me, "Since we are both here, may I buy you a drink?" I rolled my eyes, watching his lame attempt of a bow. "No, but thank you for the offer, monsieur but I have places to be. Plus, I don't drink." the muscular pony made a noise which must have been a growl. As I walked past him, he yelled something at me that made me tense up. "Madame Belle! Don't you think you should go comfort your father? He is sick you know." I wanted to tear him up. Punch him. Whatever it took. But why was I so concerned? He was not biologically related to me,  my real father was back in Equestria. Not in whatever this crazy French parallel universe was. After all, books didn't appear out of nowhere, Ponies didn't suddenly learn French, And for Celstia's sake, random clothes didn't appear on your body out of nowhere! Plus, the fact that everypony was calling me 'belle' made it even weirder. Then why was I running so fast? And why was I freaking out? This is the fault of that floating circular rainbow! Gahh, she was going to yank the tail off of Rainbowdash...once she found her. Once Twilight found the small cottage, that I assumed was my 'fathers' home. I creaked open the door only to be greeted by the sound of very lough coughing and hacking. My father was in a wooden bed, his face as red as a tomato. He saw me an tried to smile, but ended up throwing up into the half-filled barf bucket next to him. Twilight ran over to his side and kneeled beside her dying father. "Father..?" The dying pony turned to look at her, his blue eyes sparkled in the dim light of the room. "B...Belle.." I gave him a confused look. "I'm not Belle, why does everypony keep calling me that? My name is..."   realization hit me that I could not remember my name, and was now sounding like a idiot facing the stallion who was supposedly my father. "Who are you, than? A lunatic? A Spy? Do you work for the beast?"  I stared at him with question. "I am none of those, but I am afraid I cannot remember my true name." I waited for him to answer, but he didn't. His face looked lost and concerned, like he was trying to understand but he didn't know how. "If you don't mind, would you please tell me who this beast is?" I was sure it had to be a pet name for somepony who had more hair than he needed to, but the way my father explained it right then it was  nothing like that. "The beast is a horrible monster who has the body of a lion, the wings of a dragon, and the tail of a scorpion. He was originally a most handsome prince that had all the mares swooning over him, but he was to much of a narcissist. He couldn't notice any other mare because he was to much in love with himself.  A good hearted sorceress turned him into what he is now, a menacing beast. The sorceress also turned every one of his servants into vamponies, so they would be cursed to only be able to come out at the rising of Luna's moon. There is a flower out in the beast's gardens that I need for my medicine, I have asked many brave men. Even that brave one, the one that gets all the mares-now what's his name?" My father sucked in some air to save time, than blew it all out. "Oh! yes, that's it, handsome little Grey Dash. I heard he asked you out to day, is this true Belle?" his voice was rusty, and full of worry. I don't think he wanted me to even have any pony contact with Grey Dash. So I skipped his question, and went right back to the subject of the beast. "Father, if you need this flower so badly, why don't I go get it for you?" I was now more comfortable being called Belle, and referring to the strange old man as my father. "Oh, Belle..." His face got even more pale than it already was, which I didn't think was possible. "Belle, I cannot have you risking such things for me."  I held his hoof in my own. "Father, I must. You must trust me, or else you shall die." My father looked up at the celling, then back at me. "Very well, but you must be careful." I nodded, and practically ran out of the back door. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2- Bonjour, Belle! (Part 2) //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2- Bonjour, Belle! (Part 2) I had not walked long into the forest before I was greeted by a pack of wolves. A pack of hungry very large wolves! Their fur was on end, and they were growling at me like nopony’s  business. I tried to back away slowly but ended up crashing into another wolf. The wolf snapped at me, I ran forward. The wolf snapped at me again, this time managing to tear off the end of my cape. I looked around, there was no where I could run. I was cornered; I was going to get eaten an-OOF!  I opened my eyes and jerked my head towards where I had heard the sound. A new creature, with the body of a lion, wings of a dragon, and the tail of a scorpion was standing in front of me the best. I should have been afraid, but really, I was pitiful of the creature. He spent all his life locked up in a tower with practically no company. Cadavers of the wolves lay scattered on ground around us.  I looked down at the creature, one of his glossy golden lions’ paws had a scrape on the side of it. “You’re hurt.” I said, pointing to the cut. He just grunted to me and motioned for me to follow. I did, not so sure what to expect. When we arrived at his castle, I was astonished.  The castle was silver,  and had beautifully crafted glass windows. Moonlight shined on the windows, making it seem even more beautiful. The beast had already headed inside; he had told me to come inside when I was ready. Tempted, I pushed open the ivory doors, and was amazed by the brilliant artwork hanging on the castle walls. A small voice interrupted my fascination and I quickly jerked my head downward to face a small filly probably not older than the age of 5 or 6 She had long, honey colored mane that fell to her shoulders. Her blue-green eyes seemed to sparkle when she spoke to me. “Miss!” She exclaimed, hugging me. I hugged her back, not even understand why she was hugging me in the first place. “Miss-“ I cut her off. “My name is Belle.” I said, letting her continue. “Belle! My Mom is going to be so happy to meet you-“ I stopped her again. “Forgive me young girl, but I haven’t a clue what you’re talking about.” The girls eyes lit up. “My name is Citrine Coronet, my mother is Silver Solitaire. You are staying here to marry his majesty right? So the curse can be reversed?” My eyes softened as I realized what Citrine was implying, “Oh no, I was just planning on picking a flower from the castle garden. You see, Citrine, my father is horribly ill. He says that this castle holds a flower that should cure his sickness.” Citrine’s eyes lost all color, and her face paled. “Oh….and is this the only reason you wondered here?”  I felt pitiful of the young filly. Still, I said “Yes.” Citrine turned away from me, and every now and then I heard faint sniffles. I assumed she was crying, did vamponies cry? Still, I was enormously guilty for say thing such things, so I patted her on the back, and she turned to face me. “You’ll stay?!” I bit my lip for a moment, thinking about what I should say. “Yes.” I finally said, making the young filly yelp with glee. “Under one condition,” The girl stopped dancing her little jug (or whatever it was she was doing) and braced herself for what I was going to say next. “I get to return to my father once to bring him the flower for his medicine.” The girl nodded furiously and took my hoof in hers. “Now, come Belle! We must share the news with my mother!” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3- The Beast //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3- The Beast The old woman greeted me warmly, she threw her arms around me and squeezed me into a hug.  She smelled of roses and tea.  “Oh darling,” she said, still holding onto my shoulders. “I am Silver Solitaire. You, my dear, may just call me Ms.Silver. Gracious me, it is an honor to have you staying here my dear. Now, what is your name?”  My eyes looked from Crinite’s to Ms.Silver’s. “I am Belle; it is very nice to meet you Ms. Silver.” A bright beam of happiness was plastered on Ms.Silver’s face for the longest time as she said things like; “Belle, a beauty indeed!” and “Crinite, dear can you go check up on his majesty?” I had already counted a total of 16 times that Crinite had left to inform the beast that I was here. 17, now that Crinite was leaving to go yet again inform the beast that I was here. I wondered if he was ignoring me, or just found something better to do. “If you don’t mind, I think I will just go greet his majesty myself.” Crinite, who had just returned from informing the beast of my presence; exchanged a worried look with her mother. “What?” I asked, crossing my front hooves across my chest. “is there some sort of problem?” Silver Solitaire gave me a worried look, and tried to smile. “Well, no-“ I cut her off. “Then I don’t see what the problem is, I want to see him.” There was a long silence, and finally Silver Solitaire said “All right, let me take you to him dear.” Silver Solitaire opened the doors for me, and I walked in. the doors slammed shut behind me,   and I wondered silently what was going on. “Hello?” I asked, quickly answered by a grunt that came from a armchair near a blazing fire. I approached the chair, “Hello? I am Belle, Your servants were very kind to me.” A growl escaped his lips, it was dark and all I could make out was the outline of his shadow. “Wonderful. Now leave me be, I’ve had a long day.” Instead, I sat down beside the chair. “You don’t need you be such a worrywart, my father told me your tale. You were turned into a beast because you were a narcissist, am I wrong?” This time, the beast looked at her. His glossy lions fur swayed as he moved, making it seem all the more shiny. “No, you are not wrong. But I request that you do not mention that around the castle, ponies here are very touchy about that.” Belle crossed her front hooves. “You are, or they are? It seems to me that you are the one that is sensitive about your looks.” The beast’s eyes got small as he stared at her, his lions fur now looking more scary then beautiful. “I am not, you are never allowed to say such things again!” he yelled. I rolled my eyes, “Let’s just change the subject, do you have a library?” The beast gritted his fangs. “Yes…” he growled. “How wonderful!” I clapped my hooves together excitedly, and smiled at the beast. “I must ask that you show it to me sometime.” He stared at me in amazement, it’s as if he had never seen a mare that could stand his beastliness. “Oh…uhm, yes of course.”  I yawned, and the beast must have noticed this because he yelled “Fire Blaze! Gear Turner!” at that exact moment, two ponies ran into the room, and bowed at the beast. “Yes, sir ?” the one I guessed was Gear Turn said from his Gear cutie mark. “Take the girl to her room.” He shoved me forward, and the two ponies caught me just as I was about to fall. “Oh, uhm yes. Which prision?” The pony with the lighted candle cutie mark, which I guessed was Fire Blaze asked. “None! The girl will have a room, take her to her room!” he yelled at the two. I think I even saw some spit landing on one of their faces. “Y-yes, very well sire.” Gear Turner stuttered, tapping his front hooves together nervously. “Right away, and may I say your fur looked rather ravishin-“ Fire Blaze started to say, but the beast cut him off. “NO!! GO!! NOW!!”  Gear Turner and Fire blaze each grabbed one of Belle’s front hooves and  dragged her off into the hallway. “Great, just GREAT! This is all your fault his majesty lost his temper, you big kissup!” Gear Turner yelled at Fire Blaze. “Kiss up? Oh no, I was simply complementing his fur.”  I giggled as I watched the two argue, I thought I would not like it here, but by the likes of how things were going now, maybe I would.
