"Now while I'm gone no parties, on alcohol, and on girls understand?" I was leaving Cameron alone in my home and I don't want to come back to it looking like a twister came through.

"Don't worry mom you'll be back before things get too crazy" He said from the couch, eyes still on the tv screen.

"What that suppose to mean?"

"Nothing, go have fun with the nerds and geeks." He said waving his hand in a dismissive gesture.

With that I shook my head at him and check my watch it's 4:45. I checked myself in the mirror by the front door, I straightened my bow. I look kinda good in this tuxedo. Opening the front door I look back at Cameron.

"One more thing when aunt Dora comes home tell her where I'm at okay?" I got a hu huh as a reply.

I closed the door and made my way to the museum. I heard that the alignment would be shown via satilite to the whole world. Professor Matthew said he was going to set up a big flat screen he rented for the guest to see the event. My job will be to assist the professor keep the guests entertained and preoccupied until the alignment happens.

Oh this will be fun

I don't know how to talk to smart people. My own intellect is at average I have nothing to be of interest to them to say.

Well maybe they'll  actually be easy to talk to.

I was wrong. These people talking about things I didn't know existed, when did they discover a planet made of diamonds!?

Currently I'm talking to some Russian physicist about some shit called the god particle and how it may tell us about how the universe came to be. Even though I thought it was the Big Bang that create everything and that was it, I guess not apparently.

Now he was about to tell me about how the whole Planet X conspiracy is nothing but garbage when a Professor Matthew spoke over the speakers.

"Okay everyone the planets are about to align if you all could look this way please." The professor went over to the big screen a turned it on.

The images on it were four panels shown different angles of the planets slowly coming close together. It was the coolest thing I ever saw. The planets looked so to each other, and the satellites' shown this form different angles gave an even big effect.

Then, it happened Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, , even Pluto even though it's not considered a planet anymore were lined up behind the earth. And, Venus and Mercury lined up in front.

It was amazing. This was happening in my life, and it won't happen again for thousands maybe hundreds of thousands of years from now. I wasn't the only one mesmerized by the sight of it, the party goers were staring at the images with wide wonder filled  eyes. Some were even shedding tears, I'm not laughing I feel like doing the same thing.

That is I did then the images went black. Everyone looked around confused. Professor Matthew walked over to the screen, and tried to find the problem. As I looked around I notice a slight shimmer in the air it was barely there, but I saw it.

They look like the surface of water moving in small waves.

"I'm sorry everyone there seems to be a problem with the satellites' signal." This was meet with murmurs of disappointment.

But, it didn't last long the guests start conversing that the alignment itself was the culprit, and began coming with theories behind it. I was busy looking at the shimmers which were becoming easier to see. So far I'm the only one to see them, but that's only beause I one the only one not preoccupied the professor and frank were fiddling with the big screen and the guests were talking deeply with each other.

However the shimmers weren't ignored for much longer, the Russian physicist from earlier noticed then pointed out the shimmers to his colleagues, and soon everybody was looking around as the shimmers got more defined. Frank and the professor heard the guests get more energized and looked to find the cause they too took notice to the shimmers. I made my way over to them. Maybe the Professor will now what's going on, he is an astronomer.

"Professor what is this?"

" I don't know Damian I don't know." he readjusted his glasses." I've never seen anything like this. It must be from the planets alignment."

"That's what to others are saying you thinks it's dangerous?"  He looked at me and saw the worry in my eyes, then smiled. "Not to worry I think this pass when then the alignment is over. I'm also sure that this is not dangerous."

But, as he said that the shimmers began to become more intense, and the air started to look distorted. A deep vibration spread through the air making a bass sound that I could feel going through me body. The party guests start to become scared and some were already panicking. People started to make their ways to the lobby doors pushing and shoving each other.

The Professor and Frank tried to calm the people down tell not to panic. I was about to go help when my cellphone rang.

It was Aunt Dora.

"hello aunt Dora are you okay?"

"Damian?" Her voice came out choppy and full of static.

"Aunt Dora where are you? Hello?"

"I at office are you okay?"

"The office okay stay there I'm coming to get you hold tight."

I hung up and made my way to the exit door out back. Frank and the Professor can take care of the guests, my aunt needed me right now. She said she was at the office were she works. I ran through the halls of the museum until I came to the back exit.

I exited the building and ran around to the front where I could see some of the party guest trying to force their way outside.

Looking I see the streets full of screaming, panicking people. The shimmers were everywhere and growing even more violent the vibrations were getting deeper shaking everything physical.

I run for it. Running down the middle of the crowded street dodging and weaving through the stampede of people. It was chaos, people tripping and being tramped, and others were breaking into stores or trying to hijack cars. I hear the sound of screeching tires and a car horn. I moved to the sidewalk as some manic trying to drive right through the people came by hitting anyone in his path. People being sent flying as they connect to the car's hood. It was nuts out here I need to get to aunt Dora and fast.

I booked it and ran faster practically pushing people out of my way. Streams of light was now swimming around in the shimmers throughout the air, and the air was so distorted I could tell what anything was. Next thing I know I'm being pull on. The pull had me off my feet. I look up to see what grabbed me but only saw a fist before it impacted with my face.

I was then pulled up and press against a wall. I look at my assailant assailants one was a big guy with a mullet, the other was a dark guy about my age. I looked to my right, and their where other people laying on the ground bloody and beaten. They appeared to be alive, but badly beat up. That's going to be me.

"A'ight little shit  you're gonna give us all your money." the mullet guy said. I struggled in his grip, but it was no use this guy was strong.

" Do you not see that somethings is happening this isn't a time to be robbin-" before I could finish Mullet punched me hard in the gut.

"Like we give a shit this is a perfect time to collect such money and vaulables before whatever this is sadly ends," the dark guy said

"Why you don't know if this will end badly we could all die or something!" Earning a punch from mullet again.

" So what this world needs to go up in smoke in my opinion,"

"Oi Dodge we're to rob and pummel  here not share opinions on life," Mullet said as he searshed through my pockets.

"We're gonna beat him senseless anyway so why not have a little conversation first." I looked at the dark guy

"So you think humanity should die huh," I asked trying to by time to think of a way from these crazy fucks.

"Sure it'd be something different," This guy,

" But, what about all the progress we've made as a species ," Mullet dug out my mp3 player.

"nice" He said before reach to go through my backpocket.

"All that progress has made life boring," dark guy said now playing with a knuckle duster.

"what do you mean?" mullet find my wallet.

" Now a days life is boring, not worth living it's become a never ending routine of just living life" I stared at him. He thinks the same thing I do I thought life was dull too but why do things like this.

I look at the dark guy more clearly. He had Dreads that are pull into a ponytail, and was wearing a grey tank top. His baggy black cargo pants were sagging slightly.

" I know how you feel, but why do this" dark guy looked me in the eyes which I broke contact with another punch form mullet.

"Now I said no more philosophical bullshit!" He throw me further into the alley we were in.

"yeah, times up guy, nice talk though." Both the men slow made their way to me.

I try to get up but mullet's punches made me disorientated. So I turned on my back and started scooting myself back from my soon-to-be beaters. They stopped suddenly about two feet from me. I notice this and looked at them they were looking  behind them. Between their legs I could make out the streams of light in the shimmers bunching to together near the alley's entrance. The three us looked on as the lights kept coming together, the people the men beat and robbed before me started coming to and saw the lights. They ran towards us as at the center of the lights opened and a small hole formed.

The hole slowly grew bigger as it did it started pulling in things. When the hole got big enough the force of its vacuum also increased. The beaten people near reach us before the strong pull sucked them in. The force kept getting stronger. I grabbed hold of a water spout as a dumpster came crashing passed me. I look in time to catch mullet who grabbed hold of man hole be hit by the dumper both being sent in to the vortex of light.

I had my eyes closed in concentration as I clung tight to the spout when I feel something grab my ankle. I open them to see dark guy floating in the air my leg the only thing keeping him from going in next. The water spout started making creaking sounds before it comes loose from the strain of the new weight.

The vortex was starting to close the pull though still strong was lessening. I only had to wait  for it to close and I was safe.

I felt a pull on my leg and saw dark guy trying to climb up my leg. the water spout started the creak again.

"Hey!" He didn't acknowledge me. " Stop if you keep moving the spout'll come loose!"

Again he showed no signs of having heard me.

" Come man just st-"

CREEEEEEAAAAKK SNAP!

The part of the water spout  I was holding on to snapped off from the rest of it.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" We both screamed as we were squeezed through the vortex.
