“Yer sure I’m the pony you want helpin’ ya with this here project of yers, Twi?” Applejack asks Twilight from across the room.
Twilight almost didn’t catch Applejack’s question as she gathers everything she needs to perform her spell. The spell Twilight is so interested in trying will finally prove if other dimensions exist and could be a huge find for the scientific community of pony-kind if she can pull it off.
“Huh? Oh, yeah, it’s fine AJ. Since you’re already here, I can get started right away and if anything happens, you’ll be there as backup,” Twilight claps two hooves and rubs them together as a sign that she’s ready to go.

“Well that’s the gist of it anyway, but it’s only a theory. I could go further into detail about it and explain how it works, but I think you’d just lose interest,” Twilight explains.

Twilight grabs the book that got her interested in the first place and flips it open to the page that holds the details of the spell. She reads it again to make sure she understands it completely. It started with another routine reshelving day, nothing special; take the books from the shelves, clean them, check their condition, reorganize them and put them back. Twilight wasn’t expecting to find a book she never saw before hidden away in a small compartment she just happened to knock loose. She continued to flip through the pages one after another, as she paid close attention to every detail. As she discovered the spell itself she studied intensely, making sure to memorize it so as to decrease the chance of error, after all, if she wanted to demonstrate her findings to Princess Celestia later, she wanted to test it first. The only problem was she would probably need somepony else there, just in case; since Spike was at Rarity’s. Deep in thought, she missed a knock at the door. A second knock interrupted her train of thought as she put the book down to go check to see who it might be. She opened the door to see none other the Applejack standing on the other side.
“Well hey there, sugarcube! I was beginnin’ ta think you weren’t home,” she said.
“Oh! I’m sorry AJ, I was just reading this fascinating book and got lost in thought,” Twilight apologized.
“It’s fine, Twi. I was just swingin’ on by to deliver the apples you asked for,” Applejack pointed to the basket filled with apples next to her.
“Thanks, Applejack. But listen, I don’t suppose you’d be willing to help me with something would you?” she asked.

“So anyway, if this works, it could be the single most important discovery to the world of science!” Twilight explained, enthusiastically.

“Yeah, that’s pretty much it,” Twilight said as she started to get everything ready in the middle of the library.
