Chapter 1. The truth
Applejack was busy working in the field when she heard the phone ringing from inside her house. The orange pony ran into the house and picked up the phone after letting it ring three times. It was an apple family thing. "Hello?" She asked.
"Applejack? It's me twilight sparkle!"
"Well howdy twi! What can I do ya for?"
"We'll I'm super super SUPER sorry applejack, but shining armour and my parents are coming into town for dads birthday and we're all going out to celebrate! Oh and spike will be minding the library....."
Applejack didn't tune into the rest of the conversation, because when twilight mentioned the word "parents" it set applejack off into a world of her own. Everyponys parents seemed to be coming into town this week. Only yesterday pinkies parents came into town and fluttershys parents were coming in this Friday which is the day after tomorrow and Rarity is going back to her home town for two days to see her parents. With sweetie bell of course. Apple bloom has been trying to get they're little group called the cutie mark crusaders to do lots of events so that they can get they're cutie marks before she goes and they don't want to miss sweetie bell getting her cutie mark without them. Suddenly she snapped back to twilight. "....... So I'm sorry but I can't help you buck trees today. Oh i have to go. We'll reschedule later, ok?"
"Of course sugar-cube! Bye now !" Applejack put down the phone with a sigh. "Why can't my parents ever visit ponyville? Oh well. Better get back to work and forget about my parents."

Later when the apple family were having dinner that night, applejack wasn't focused. Well, she couldn't focuse. She couldn't stop thinking about her parents either.
"What's on your mind, youngen?" Granny Smith asked when applejack wouldn't join in the family conversations like normal.
"Huh? Oh nothing Granny Smith just....." Apple bloom interrupted her with a yawn.
"Sorry a.j, Granny Smith, Big Mac, I'm gonna get an early night. Me and the gals tried extra hard getting our cutie marks by walking in forests and got lost and were there for hours until Big Mac...... zzzZZZzzzZZZ" she fell asleep on the table.
"Big mac, go and bring your sister up to bed, would ya now?"
Big Mac got up and threw apple bloom over his back. "Eeyup" and Big Mac took her up the stairs and into bed.
"Now, your turn youngen! What's on that mind of yours, ey?"
Applejack hesitated, then gulped. "Everyponys parents are coming into town this week except mine.... Well, and rainbow dash's.
I just wanna know about my parents Granny Smith. Can you tell me about them please?"
Granny Smith murmured something and then went out of the room. When she returned, she had a photo album in her hooves
"Come ere youngen," Granny Smith said as she sat down on the sofa. Applejack went over to her. Big Mac came down the stairs and went over to where his sister and granny was sitting and sat down with them. "This here," started Granny Smith, pointing at a picture of a pink mare with a yellow mane and tons of bows in her mane, "is your mother, golden gala, and this young fellow next to her is your father, Big Mac. They met -" applejack interrupted her
"Wait a sec! Big Mac was named after my father?"
"Yes-seerie youngen! And what a fight your mother put up about namin Big Mac Big Mac! She was gonna name him zap apples, but then zap apples came along and your father kept suggestin Big Mac so your mother couldn't really say no now could she?" They went through so many pictures, and memories. Applejack also found out her mother was the reason apple bloom had her big bow. At the end of the night, they all went to bed, and applejack dreamed of her mother and father all night long.
